Once the security hole is fixed can theymos re-enable avatars?
I'm sure they will be as soon as the vulnerability is sorted.

wow, that didn't last very long.
It's still up and running apparently. Maybe there was a vulnerability in the forum software or something. http://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2013/12/20/at-least-two-moderators-of-the-silk-road-2-0-drug-site-forums-arrested/Guys I was arrested yesterday and out on bond now. But something is fucked! I know I’m risking more warning you guys and my attorney doesn’t even want me on the internet but you guys need to know this. When I was in the interview room they showed me all sorts of shit that they should not know or have access to including conversations I’ve had with buyers and even [the Silk Road 2.0 administrator known as the Dread Pirate Roberts]. I don’t fucking understand.. and when I was in there I was at a loss for words. Something is definitely wrong and they have the ability to see things on here only mods or admins should like [bitcoin] transfers and a dispute I had. Maybe they gained access by exploiting the forum avatars like on here haha. Is is interesting to find out how they busted them or got that info. Bet a lot of people are shitting bricks over there right now .

So far there are 200+ alt coins created, what do you think is the best coin for the future? I am not sure any can really compete with Bitcoin, but the Bitcoin has only 21 million coins, it can not be used as a serious currency that used daily. There are coins created with billions in total, which will be more reasonable to be used in daily life.
Any suggestions of good alt coins?
It doesn't matter that there's only going to be 21 million because they can be divided up down to .00000001.

Good news. I'm surprised it took them this long. Donated to Tor instead of Wikipedia.
Haha I'm sure they'll be a few people who reason like this.

Hey, look what I made. Do with it what you want. Did you really make that, cos it looks kinda cool, or are you BS-ing? Seriously, I did not make this, just like the OP didn't make his image but, unlike the OP, I CAN make the above with the barn wood I have in stock, sans what's displayed on the shelves. lol. You should make em and sell 'em on here for BItcoin.

Yes I did. This isn't a foolproof plan on getting places to accept bitcoins. Their next response will probably be "no, we still don't accept Bitcoins".
Probably, but it's worth to try. Besides this way there will be more people that has heard of bitcoin, and sooner or later they may get interested in buying or accepting bitcoin in their bussiness. I myself didn't get into bitcoin till I heard of it at least a dozen times! It's a good way of getting Bitcoin's name out there and to help promote it, but I'm not going to look like an idiot and keep asking if a shop accepts Bitcoin when they've already told me several times that they don't. If you want to; then great, but I'd find it annoying personally. I always tell people bout Bitcoin, but I'm not going to keep driving it into them like an aggressive salesman.

Is the UK version of the office as good as the US?
Depends whether you're American or British or whether you prefer British or American comedy? Or wether you're a comedypleb or not. The British version is far superior. There's more laughs in one episode on UK office than there is in an entire season of the US version. The two versions are completely different sorts of humour. There's no subtlety with the American version, and the laughs are few and far between. They went for quantity not quality and stretched it out far too long. sometimes it just feels like the characters are just trying too hard to rouse laughter out of you. another show that reminds me of this is modern family. the jokes/gags are like devices. it doesn't feel like natural comedy, but that's just my taste.
I've not seen Modern Family, but it looks like typical American sitcom crap.

People don't have to buy a load of crap they don't want just because they believe in the Bitcoin.
Don't blow all your 'coins on crap, indeed, but since you've surely got daily purchases to make either way, do as the Bitcoin Jesus recommends and ask the magic question everywhere you go. And you'll probably get the answer "Bitcoin what?" back . Did you even look at the website? That is the whole point. If you ask "do you accept bitcoin" they may say "bitcoin what?"... the first time then next time, "bitcoin again? i've heard of that", then next time someone asks "I'd better find out about what bitcoin is since people keep asking about it", then next time ... "Yes we take bitcoin!" Yes I did. This isn't a foolproof plan on getting places to accept bitcoins. Their next response will probably be "no, we still don't accept Bitcoins". Well, that was kind of my original point. I want to be able to buy stuff I like but can't find stores accepting BTC and selling those things.
I have saved a little but willing to spend some like today if I could find a store.
I want to buy a MacBook Pro with with BTC. That is my goal.
Well you wont be able to buy a macbook if you spend all your coins now, will you? So basically you want other people to spend their coins now whilst you hold on to yours until they become popular enough so you can buy a macbook? I'm sure somebody will be selling a macbook for Bitcoins sooner or later. Put a request in the Goods section. Wow somebody is in attack mode. Didn't I just said I will hold some and spend some? And that I would spend right now if I could buy the things I wanted? Relax ok They sell macbook pro on amazon. BTC -> Gyft -> Amazon Gift Card -> Macbook Pro sitting on your desk in 2 days... I hear a lot of people saying they don't know how to spend their coins... There are plenty of ways to buy anything you want with your BTC if you just look around. I think it'll be easier just buying with fiat. I'd still rather just hold my coins and see what they're worth in the future. Probably a lot more than what they are now.

localbitcoins accept paypal?
I think they do. Yes they do. Or at least some sellers do. And it is no different than selling for paypal here. The buyer of coins gets escrow, but too bad the buyer isn't the one that needs protection. Reread what I said. "Put them on localbitcoins and wait. Cash money in hand is the only sure way to not be ripped off." Yes, but that's not what he asked. He asked if they accept PP. You can get ripped off by cash in hand deals too. Nothing is foolproof.

btw while i like ricky gervais, i think his style of comedy (and stephen merchant too) doesn't suit my tastes. it's a bit too tryhard.. although awkward humor can be good. i don't like "hello ladies" all that much. karl pilkington is probably the most entertaining of the 3.
The Office will always be the greatest sitcom of all time to me. Nothing comes close. Karl Pilkington is hilarious. Hello Ladies is shite. Merchant is nothing without Gervais. well i have to say.. the UK version of the office was better than the U.S. version. the funniest thing ricky gervais has ever been involved in, in my opinion, is this clip right here. i laughed so hard watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKTh7zBIcrMbut i also found life's too short a bit too tryhard for my taste. What do you mean by tryhard? Life's Too Short was alright. Few laughs. But yeah, that clip was great. Have you seen the outtakes of that Liam Neeson scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lldrizLu_d8 (starts at 5:33). Gervais: *tring* Neeson: We're closed I've got full-blown AIDS. Anyone like True Blood? I thought I wouldn't like it and was gonna be like crappy Twilight or something, but I was quite suprised. I'm on season 6 at the moment.
Thought the first couple of seasons were good, but it dropped off after with all the other supernatural beings and Vampire Bill going a bit evil.

now the one series that makes me laugh uncontrollably is eastbound and down. kenny fucking powers is ridiculously funny. it's stupid and over the top, but i don't give a shit. do brits enjoy eastbound and down, or is it too quintessentially american for you?
I haven't seen Eastbound and Down, but I've got the first two seasons downloaded. I'll give it a go sometime. Weeds maybe?
I found Weeds to be a bit silly and unexciting. It's like Desperate Housewives but with, erm, Weed. I agree. I watched the first two seasons and gave up as it was just to far-fetched to me. I always found it weird how Celia's eldest daughter just disappeared after a few episodes in the first season with no real explanation. Weeds maybe?
I found Weeds to be a bit silly and unexciting. It's like Desperate Housewives but with, erm, Weed. same.. but marie louise parker kept me tuning in for 2 seasons. ultimate hot milf Yeah, she is quite lovely.

Hi guys,
I am also new to Bitcointalk - but not new to thinking about (and trading) Bitcoin. I am philosopher by training and I have to say I am very intrigued by digital currencies and their potential to revolutionize the way we think about money, the way we spend money and the way we transfer money. Maybe money need not be backed by real value (commodities, etc.) or someone's institutional promise to protect its status as a legal tender. Maybe (sound) mathematics and certain agreements on secure trading are sufficient!
Yes, I believe it does have the potential to revolutionise money, but it's going to be a rocky road until we can get mainstream society to get behind this. Hopefully we'll see it in our lifetime. Also, how does one train to be a philosopher?

Personally I reckon it's time for a true anarchist/libertarian version of Wikipedia. A lot of people are currently trying. I have heard that Metapedia has improved quite a lot these days. Have idea about any other alternate Wiki sites? What's to stop that not being taken over? When anything is open and free to use it's also free and easy to exploit it for your own gain.
