1921  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you care if Billions of people need help? on: March 01, 2015, 10:31:28 PM
Perhaps some very targeted help. Only for ppl who already started climbing out of the hole on their own by using their very own talents.
1922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of a coin who reduce the total amount of coins being minted? on: March 01, 2015, 12:21:37 AM
Thanks for the votes. Would be great to hear your reasons?

Do you think artificially lowering the number of total coins unfairly favours early adopters? Would this stop you investing?

Yes. Yes. In addition such action would be considered as sign of a pump and dump.
1923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No response after Questions on: February 28, 2015, 11:40:33 PM
Or they think you want to trick them by using your "inspector" to get the code and then refusing to accept the code. So you can get the all stuff without paying for their work.
1924  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I'm a Russian Occupant [ENG Subtitles] on: February 28, 2015, 05:25:35 PM
My question is not about the Red Army, I'm more interested about that "they were like animals compared to the western soldiers". What western soldiers do you actually refer to here?

And how old are you, by the way?

Well, the soviet army really left a big mess behind. E.g. my country spent a couple of billions of dollars on decontaminating former soviet bases. Mostly fuel and oil contamination in the ground water, but on the abandoned training grounds we found thousands of unexploded ammunition pieces, huge amounts of buried batteries and such stuff. All of the buildings (many of them historical buildings) what they seized were quite a bit run-down after they went home. So yes, they really left some serious crap behind. On the contrary when the americans used one of our airfields during the Iraq war they left everything clean, nice and tidy.

Unfortunately there are no really good preemptive measures against such attacks without compromising anonymity and/or decentralized approach. Involving mobile phones in the registration process however could make large scale attacks costly and less sustainable. If you tie the registration and application to IMEI or the serial of the mobile or maybe to both two then the attacker must have several phones and lots of active SIMs to be successfull. After that if you can make a low sell wall on one exchange for a few weeks or for a month as a second distribution phase (IPO, ICO, ITO, whatever) that will make the attacker's efforts much less profitable.

Europe has to take side when Putin is flying his bombers over their citizen's heads.
http://edition.cnn.com/videos/world/2015/02/19/pkg-gorani-uk-russian-plane-intercepted.cnn

Actually those bombers were flying over the international waters, but certainly that wasn't the most reassuring move.
1927  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I'm a Russian Occupant [ENG Subtitles] on: February 28, 2015, 12:43:41 PM
In this current turmoil I think Russia is right, so I can imagine you guys might be pissed of because of the western media barrage, but to be frank this video is bullshit. It's about the same as telling that the activities of nazi Germany been really beneficial for everyone because of that was an age of rapid scientific, technological, and social development, employment rate was almost 100%, businesses were thrieving across the globe, but not mentioning the price.

But yes, we all know that WW2 was the greatest thing since the sliced bread because of it made possible for many poor lads to go and see the world and meet interesting new ppl without paying a single cent Smiley.

Quote
Boris Nemtsov will not be missed in Russia.  He was another Khordokovsky type - a Jewish criminal gangster rising to great power by selling out his country's interests to those of the West during the Yeltsin years.  He had few followers, and would have been far down the list of those that the Kremlin would condier 'dangerous'.

For the rest of the world outside Russia, his death will be used as a weapon against Putin - indeed, it already is as all the MSM are jumpiong onto the 'Putin does it again' bandwagon.

It is not Putin's way of doing things. Besides that, Nemtsov was nobody, and wasn't even a slightest threat to Putin and his power. He was Yeltsin's petboy and became a governor of a Russian region with population of over 3 million people at an age of just 32 years. He has been hated by the majority of Russian populace.

Suspected something like this. Together with opinion of tee-rex I would say this murder clearly wasn't Putin's interest. More like the opposite.
1929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way of initial coin distribution on: February 28, 2015, 10:13:16 AM
I'd like to get your suggestions about the best way of initial coin distribution of a 100% Proof-of-Stake coin.

NB: Actually it's for a network-bound proof-of-work coin but from formal point of view it's the same problem. Network-bound PoW system requires a lot of explanations, let's make appearance that we are talking about PoS now, the majority is more familiar with PoS than with network-bound PoW.

Take a look at the distribution method used by GCoin. GCoin itself is a crap but the distribution by slots is a great idea. With this method luck, effort and determination are all important factors and nobody can complain because of unfair distribution Smiley.

Edit: Unlike in POW with slots small time "miners" will have the same chance as the owners of big farms.

More edit: If it would be a smartphone application then the sockpuppet issue is more or less sorted.
1930  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Net neutrality just went through, opinions? on: February 28, 2015, 09:45:01 AM
That's easy. If Soros and the left/lib side like it then it's most likely bad for the rest of mankind Smiley.
1931  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin Critic Shot Dead at Kremlin on: February 28, 2015, 09:39:34 AM
Qui bono? But most likely we never will know the real answer.
1932  Economy / Securities / Re: FASBIT - THE EXCHANGE YOU OWN. on: February 27, 2015, 03:03:17 PM
So, nobody has heard from this guy so the rest is history. What's the deal with this? All should be looking forward to good times at this point.\, but not so much.

No, FASBIT seems to be pretty much dead. What a pity, it could be a good project.

Uh, oh. Mob to send "help". Look out even further below Ukraine.

Thought they were too busy covering up their own pedophile rings and other shit back home to have time for more war scams but apparently that is not so. I guess the Ukraine market is important for the interests of this particular mob pile of dung anyway.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has announced that Britain is going to begin sending troops to Ukraine later this week, with the first set of “trainers” arriving in Kiev in a few days, and further troops to come as military advisers.

War is always a good way to distract attention from the pedo rings of their buddies. Have you seen the movie Wag the dog Smiley?

1935  Other / Politics & Society / Re: National Revenge Porn Law on: February 27, 2015, 02:00:31 PM
Its a stupid law , and that is just an understatement. One could exploit this to infinity, since there is no way of prooving that person charged with uploading the content
really did the act of uploading. Just because something is posted from your account doesnt mean u did it, and prooving innocence would be tough aswell.
Its dumb to record porn of any sort and then whine about it, another case is when the other party doesnt know its being recorded, but thats another thing.

cheers

Quote from: “presumption of innocence.” Cornell University. 27 Feb. 235. link=http://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/presumption_of_innocence
Definition from Nolo’s Plain-English Law Dictionary

One of the most sacred principles in the American criminal justice system, holding that a defendant is innocent until proven guilty. In other words, the prosecution must prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, each essential element of the crime charged.
Definition provided by Nolo’s Plain-English Law Dictionary.

Don’t worry: in the U.S., the burden of “proof” is borne by the prosecution. Roll Eyes

Claiming that one's computer been hacked is always a good defense Smiley.
1936  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: February 27, 2015, 01:23:47 PM
Ukrain is in a civil war between the west and the east. Taking side is a bad idea for Europe.

Europe and Russia are already lost, as the US successfully drove a wedge between the two but finally Russia and the EU have to mop up in Ukraine. Rebuilding that huge country going to overstrech both Russia's and the EU's economy for at least a decade. So the US hit two birds with one stone.
1937  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: February 27, 2015, 12:52:32 PM
I think default would cause even greater warfare in Ukraine, though this would mean less control from the USA, since the civil war will most likely spread over the entire territory of Ukraine in this case.

The consequences of a default would blow the fuse for most ukrainians and could lead to revolts. The USA would lose control and ppl probably would ask help from the big brother who helped in the past...
1938  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When USA invasion to Russia starts? on: February 27, 2015, 12:04:28 PM
A US attack on Russia would be a quickie one really. We'd be all home by Easter Smiley.

No you wouldn't. Not if nuclear weapons are involved. Not much of a home to return to.

Back then the worst you could do was to take warship and shell the coast line of a country or send a cloud of mustard gas towards their troops. There were no nuclear weapons spy satellites and military drones.
Both Russians and Americans should realize the real threat is in the Middle East and these people are not playing by the rules. If they had nuclear weapons they would be already launching them in our direction.

The middle east has been under control of the west for over 100 years. If extremists get nuclear weapons they would use them. But until then they are doing what they were created to do.

I've tried to be sarcastic Smiley. What I wanted to point out: in such a scenario we wouldn't have the time to deploy to the frontlines but we'd be nuked while still at home.
