First official day of retirement.

Woke up. Not sure what day it was.

Rick texted me and is totally fucking jelly that I'm a free man.

Already on beer #4.

Think I'm going to take a nap after this beer.

*yawn*

Fuck this downward-sideways bullshit. $11k is being a whore.

EDIT: ... although if mempool activity is any indicator, we're shaping up for a bullish afternoon/evening.

Did you remember to check on the status of the cat?

You better get woke that retirement does not relieve you of all responsibilities.
19202  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 28, 2018, 09:48:53 PM
Hey guys,

I just saw my activity jump up for no reason after making my last post today.

I read somewhere that you only get 14 points max of activity per 14 days. But I somehow got 28 points on my first 2 days of being a member. It was so weird, but at the same time... I was posting volumes in one post.

Then I started posting 4-liners because posting pages in one post got kind of energy-consuming. And that's when my activity got capped at 28 -- I noticed that even if I posted a really long, thoughtful post, my activity didn't go up. All because I posted small posts.

So I think the new theory is that you get activity points based on your posts rather than frequency of posts.

I think the system does a weighing of sorts. Like if you start off posting really long posts, the system won't cap your activity.

And then if you start posting shorter posts, the system cap comes into play because the system thinks you're just trying to farm points.

But it looks like when I started posting again after my 14 days were up, I got a jump in activity, at exactly +14 points.

I'm not sure if that happens to other people, but maybe that's the system weighing my voluminous posts within the 14 days that weren't credited as activity.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Probably your first few days of forum membership overlapped two activity periods, so therefore, you were able to reach 28 activity points in a very short period of time.

The start and end of activity periods have preset beginning and ending activity period dates, and those dates are not based on your actual registration date.
19203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: February 28, 2018, 09:44:26 PM
wow looking back at the thread people knew about Bitcoin becoming big and making them rich! I have earned a lot of money through bitcoin too but I don't think I am the "new wealthy elite" as many of the really early adopted.

There seems to be little utility in comparing yourself with others, and the real goal should be attempting to figure out how this possible "elite" status can fit into your own life and improvements in your own situation.  Surely in the whole scheme of things, there are certain objective comparisons that would allow you to use the word "elite" in your own description of yourself and your circumstances, but I would argue that there are also gradients of such usage of the word elite in which you can consider ways that bitcoin has helped you to reach a better financial position and how bitcoin may continue to help you in that "elitism" direction in the future.. even if you might not strictly meet societal definitions of "elite."
19204  Other / Meta / Re: Who the hell is "nullius" the guy is too smart around here :) on: February 28, 2018, 09:37:18 PM
Nullius posts good stuff, is clearly intelligent, and a definite asset to the community.

Until someone calls him out, that is.

Unfortunately, he's unable to take criticism, and shelters behind this weird Jane Austin meets Carl Jung persona, which makes him irritating and patronising in the extreme.

I'm not saying the merits haven't been earned - they have been. He's contributed.

I'm just saying that this guy isn't God, and don't for one second be afraid to argue if you see an error. He won't react well, but who cares?

A contributor, but not a pleasant one. His problem, not ours.

I agree with you that it is a problem to deify anyone, even if they have a lot of good posts, and part of the issue is our own self, and sometimes we can become intimidated by very sophisticated posters - so in that regard, if we are going to respond or criticize anything, then we would need to make our criticism about a narrow point that we do understand or to make sure that we read enough and sufficiently to understand what we are criticizing exactly.

If we are sufficiently aware, then we will realize that in life there are going to be people who know way more than we do on a variety of topics, and sometimes even seemingly dumb people can have life experiences and knowledge that goes beyond our understanding (which could allow that they know more about some topics than we do).

Personally, i have an approach that I will give some benefit of the doubt to folks who I believe to be limited in their intellectual abilities, and even though I have also met people (IRL) who seem to be heads and shoulders above me in their mental abilities (and experiences), but I also try to NOT deify them, and there remain likely ways, that even geniuses (as you pointed out HodorHodl) have faults in their logic, their perceptions and/or their methods of communicating.
19205  Other / Meta / Re: Who the hell is "nullius" the guy is too smart around here :) on: February 28, 2018, 08:44:12 PM
OMFG! I just had a terrible thought, guys. What if we're being trolled by Craig Wright as nullius?

The above inspired by Satoshi:

Quote
Bitcoin would be convenient for people who don't have a credit card or don't want to use the cards they have, either don't want the spouse to see it on the bill or don't trust giving their number to "porn guys", or afraid of recurring billing.

<funny how my mind sometimes work, for who else could've gone from A to B like I accomplished above?>

Craig Wright is not that smart nor able to contain his slimy demonstration of emotions.
19206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: February 28, 2018, 08:38:24 PM
Are positive forecasts based on currency behavior in 2017? But what about the sharp and recent collapse? What can raise the crypto currency from the knees? What will keep you afloat?
Increased interest from speculators who are eager for quick returns. The increase in demand, the receipt of large investors.
Many investors are trying to use resources that have remained free. Given the high appeal of digital currencies, most of the available funds will be used to purchase these assets.
I think this is an ordinary pyramid. The more people invest, the more top participants will get. As a result, all the profits will remain with the developer, and the rest of the people will go bankrupt.

You need to clarify what you are talking about exactly.  If you are talking about bitcoin, then that is one thing; however, if you are referring to crypto currencies more broadly, then that is a bit of a difference concept... Yeah, they have symbiotic relationships, but referring to crypto overall without parsing out the difference between bitcoin and the others rises to the level of a surely vague, amorphous and an all over the place discussion.
19207  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 28, 2018, 08:31:30 PM

I had noticed those two different pages too, recently, and I wished that there was a better way to toggle through those kinds of settings.  One shows the merit sent/received in the past 30 and the other shows the merit sent/received in the past 120 days.  I don't know why it is set up that way, but like I mentioned, I wished there were tabs that would allow the ability to toggle between different time periods such as 30 days and 120 days and maybe some other select time period options.
19208  Economy / Reputation / Re: Since I was asked about it on: February 28, 2018, 08:26:03 PM
Thanks for your overview and update, DannyH.....  I think that it can help others to understand how you approach the matter, but also provide a decent model for any other member who wants to employ similar kinds of considerations.

It seems to me that more or less I was correct in the assessment in my earlier post that hypothetically, if a member had received negative feedback from your for something like "merit begging," and thereafter, the member were to discontinue merit begging, remove their retaliatory negative feedback of you, and became a better quality poster, then you may consider removing the negative rating, based on those kinds of hypothetical circumstances, if they were to exist favorably for the member.

However, I agree with you that in this particular case, the member seems to have doubled down in negative trust behavior rather than making any attempts at reform and therefore has a pretty low chance of any kind of recovery of the negative rating because s/he seems to have not learned from your negative rating nor attempted to make any improvement to the distrustful behavior.

Can you really trust someone with the Tardis as an avatar? Dr. Who fans are taking over the world

I'm a Dr. Who fan

I fear we are forking this thread a bit here.

I'll try and bring it back to the topic at hand...

If I create a thread where I ask Dr. Who related trivia questions and award merit for intelligent, well thought out, correct answers, would that be considered merit farming (since it isn't about bitcoin or crypto at all)?

Danny you saw this discussion upthread, right?  It would seem topical for you to clarify your point of view about that recent discussion, no?
19210  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can you still believe aTriz words? on: February 28, 2018, 03:17:04 PM
If you really want, then I open the thread again. You will end up where you started again. The discussion has not progressed for a few pages.  Roll Eyes

I think that you gotta let some of that nonsense play out for a while.  There had been still some new quasi-topical revelations there, even though sometimes a bit painful, too.
19211  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can you still believe aTriz words? on: February 28, 2018, 03:04:35 PM
Guys, please do not answer on alias posts anymore. Thank you.

To be fair here, you did just lock a thread that contained an ongoing discussion.

Exactly my point. It seemed like he wanted to get the last word in, and cut off the dialogue without any chance of a rebuttal. Cute move, but it clearly didn't work

Actually, even though I believe Alia is not really helping her case, I do agree with the point that the other thread should not have been locked during the ongoing discussion, and that topic should not have to move to another thread in order to continue  - even though it does seem fair enough to open this new thread.

The Mayer Multiple Since the Inception of Bitcoin

Do you have a link for this chart or for the article from where it came?
19213  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why I think User "alia" is a (potential) scammer? User "aTriz" maybe involved! on: February 28, 2018, 06:13:45 AM
Also, it's okay, I don't need your apology. Do whatever you want. Turns out all that sweet-talking via PM was fake; I was actually starting to really really like you. There's no need to be an asshole to people without proper evidence. You're becoming just like the rest of them.

* nullius sobs quietly into a pillow.

Hello?  Alia, honey?  You still there?

I want for you to know that I was on your side all along.  I only faked being strict and tough so as to pull a sly one on theymos and ibminer and all those other big meanies, to buy time while I searched for the real killers looked for evidence which would prove your total innocence.

Please help me out here.  Please.  I’ve got tears streaming down my cheeks as I write this.  I am heartbroken!

Please, I am begging you on my knees, help me find some exculpatory evidence.  The video interview won’t fly, because we don’t have a suitable interviewer (and with your credibility now a thousandfold shot to hell, nobody in a trusted position would waste time with it).  “Dave” from Podunk Wallet Recovery Service with a domain name registered five minutes ago will not cut it; this is a tough crowd we’re playing to here!  You have got to give me something good.

I don’t know how I can live, if you turn out to be fake.  I may kill myself.  Please, Alia, please help me prove that you are real!
wtf? lol?

The world turns on its head, and we got drama coming out of ALL orifices here - even Quickseller coming off as empathetic  Shocked
19214  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why I think User "alia" is a (potential) scammer? User "aTriz" maybe involved! on: February 28, 2018, 03:09:50 AM
As for my legitimacy, I invite anyone to Skype me when I return from college today, and I will prove that I am who I say I am.
I usually see ibminer as a good candidate for reviewing evidence, but I'm pretty sure he won't be willing to go for this one. @ib Tongue
I'm curious if the proof will be in the form of a fake ID?  is the "FWB" she has spoken of her little brother?  oh I'm so confused... a Skype session... maybe there will be boobs... I do like boobs ... bah, give me a break. I wouldn't want to touch that with a 10 foot pole hop VPN.

An interesting post asking for an ID using the name "Alia Armelle" not too long before this "alia_armelle" account was created (account name has recently changed to "alia"?)

screenshot of cached page: https://i.imgur.com/qa0i37u.png
https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:teDI4x4GuO4J:https://www.reddit.com/r/forhire/comments/7rfy66/hiring_need_somebody_to_photoshop_an_id_for_me/
(had to use cache, original is deleted)

And the same account on reddit that asked for this ID (revcback) is apparently only 15:

And oddly enough, this same account (revcback) uses "Daily Discussion" frequently on reddit as seen here in the last posts.
"Daily Discussion" is displayed on the first tab of the screenshot provided by the "alia" account in the OP of this thread):
https://imgur.com/a/CMdja

If it were me, I'd stay far away from this account for numerous reasons.

Daily Discussion is a BitcoinMarkets thread which thousands of people post on every day. And thank you for showing me the ID thing, I need to have a chat with him about that. I suspect he was trying to get into one of my exchange accounts for something that I did to him, personal stuff, but mainly petty brother-sister feuds.

I've never seen a brother-sister feud lead to identity theft in order to access an exchange account. A whole family of shady people  Huh  I can only imagine what you could do to him in retaliation for this (and I so hope it doesn't involve Skype)... oh, those brother-sister feuds.  Huh

Ibminer, it sounds like you are bowing out of this identity verification process?

However, you level of skepticism and your trustworthiness by all sides seems to make you nearly perfect for the job - except perhaps if you believe that you know someone who might be better suited for such task, then it would likely bring a quick resolution to this matter...

I am on the same page that the odds seem quite low that alia's story is going to pan out, especially a supposed 15 year old brother that has had time to scheme to the level of his already seeming schemes, and alia's adding up walking contradictions, too, so sure, see a couple boobs in the process.. and so what it is all for the good of the forum and just another piece of drama to potentially chalk up to the archives of BTC_talk history.  i am sure that in the event that you are not clear about how to proceed, you would be able to enlist a vast array of talent for behind the BTC_talk scene's consulting regarding how to engage in the ID confirmation process that quite likely to include riddle and humor.
19215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2018, 02:30:44 AM
I may spare you when shit hits the fan.

Haha. You realize, of course, that you are as impotent as the least of us here, right? The only power is vested in infofront and Theymos.

I am just attempting some dramatic effect, so don't out me  - otherwise I will consider placing you on my "NOT to be spared" list.   Angry Angry

I know you are shivering in your boots, so don't EVEN try faking calmness.   Tongue
19216  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why I think User "alia" is a (potential) scammer? User "aTriz" maybe involved! on: February 28, 2018, 02:02:04 AM
This is just further proof that you're a crazed kid who can call anyone a scammer. nullius did only have first contact with me through the forum. aTriz is a reputable and upstanding member of the forum. Just go home, the adults are talking.

I'd rather be a kid than a scammer! I will use this account to expose more scammers, like I (a kid  Roll Eyes) did it with you!

Possibly valid case in OP? Check.
Lie in your posts? Check.
Use it to dishonestly attack Lauda and aTriz? Check.

* Lauda yawns at OP.

I'm 100% down for that. I would prefer nullius, condoras, aTriz, RHavar, theymos, Lauda - any of them. Let's put an end to the speculation, let me prove it to you.
Thanks, but no. I do not do video calls for several reasons. I'm really not sure who is *trustworthy* enough and is willing to do this. I've crossed out the people who should not do this or do not want to (me).

This arrogant way just shows me that I can not trust you. Before you praised alia in the sky and now you pretend that you do not know her. Just admit that you fell for her. But no, you always want to be right and this very property makes you unpredictable. Unpredictable and always want to be right, should not be properties that a DT member should have!

In my following of this saga, it seems that Ibminer, or maybe someone who Ibminer nominates would be good for the interviewing job...

Don't be ridiculous with your seemingly bad motive spin of an assumption regarding facts that are not in evidence.

Hahahahaha... nullius, you surely beat me to the beat up on the bad ideas of fxstrike post, and yeah you are probably correct in your assertion that Theymos may have been too generous to allow Jr. Member status without any merits whatsoever, and maybe a requirement to receive something like 2-5 merits would helpful to the forum overall to cause better quality posts right from the start, or otherwise the newbie could just be stuck at newbie status, forever and ever....

I like the way you laugh, its feel so bad, make me think to not laugh at some professor's idea that got memed so bad nobody dare to implement it, and probably never will be forever and ever....

Professor : its soooo irritating to not able to start alt because you are so important here, let me kick some Newbie and Jr. Member asses

Looks like you are building up a post history of consistent hating and obsession with forum personalities... Who gives a ratt's ass about your irrelevant points?  Even a shill account comes up with much better points, but of course, by definition, shill accounts are getting paid or sponsored in some kind of way, so they have to maintain some kind of trolling quality, if there is such a thing.

I know that you are not asking for advice, but maybe you would consider getting over your butt hurtness, and just research into crypto and develop some kind of crypto related hobby?  Aren't you here on this forum for crypto?  There is a vast amount of crypto-related information on this forum.  Personally, I am mostly interested in bitcoin, but sure I recognize that there are some other cryptos that seem to be of interest to forum members, even beyond the pumping and dumping of such alts and ICOs and other scams... Anyhow,  so why boggle your post history down with nonsensical and hateful irrelevancies when you might  involve your self with some substantive crypto discussions?

Jayjuan i got negative trust for asking for merit... i have to google everything i googled howto gain merit, and a hero rank on the forum said i have to make quality posts, then went on to say even with 100 quality posts i may not get any, because they are so hard to come by people dont want to give them out, and then he ended it with the best way to get merit and (the quickest) is just ask... im only asking you because you are legend rank... is there anyway i can redeem myself and fix it im not trying to have a neg trust, simply followed what higher ranking of official said for me to do... please dont neg trust only want to know how i can fix it.... or what is the consequences because i got neg trust and reported.... and how can i fix it thanks

Anyone can answer this question, and it does not need to be me.

Surely, I don't know the whole story of your situation, and maybe the whole story does not matter too much because I can gather a certain amount of information merely by looking at some of your post history, your trust rating and your so far received merits.

The truth of the matter seems to be that you have a lot of shitty posts, and some of your posts seem to be excessively obsessed with merit and NOT even expressing your ideas very clearly.  Furthermore, you received 10 merits for a largely nonsensical thread that you had started, and you received those 10 merits on February 26, so I do not understand why you would need to be so obsessed with merit in the short term because, with those 10 merits that you already received, you have enough merits to rank up to member status, and you still have another 3 months (approximately) before you would even be eligible to rank up to full member, which requires 100 merits, as you likely know.    Anyhow, DannyHamilton negative trusted you on February 26.

If you really are serious about attempting to earn merit and attempting to get your negative trust removed, then you would likely need to work pretty hard to accomplish such.  It is not an impossible task, but it just seems to me that your whole approach, so far, has been a bit wacky with a lot of shitty posts.

To me, your posts are so shitty that you would likely need to engage in some efforts to improve the quality of your posts and for several months.  Also, you should probably remove your negative trust of DannyHamilton (which seems to have been a retaliatory response from you towards him).  Perhaps after you post quality posts for a few months, then you might want to PM DannyHamilton and ask him if he would be willing to remove your negative trust or if he has some conditions that he would like you to meet before he removes your negative trust.  In the end, your negative trust is not going to stop you from participating in this forum - although it may prevent you from engaging in some signature campaigns, and if engaging in a signature campaign is your main goal, then it could take some time to resolve your matter and with some efforts on your side to consider ways to post quality rather than quantity.

By the way, I am giving you a general suggestion, and certainly I don't know whether DannyHamilton might NOT be willing to remove negative trust from you, but surely it seems to me that if you engage in quality posting and improve your approach and discontinue soliciting merits, then it is possible that he may be willing to consider such a request to remove the negative trust that he gave you.

NOTE: I would not suggest contacting DannyHamilton at all for several months, until after you have made some decent and materially demonstrable efforts to fix what he had negative trusted you for.  On the other hand, if DannyHamilton has a policy to never remove negative trust, then your account is going to be labelled with that negative trust from him hence forth.  That is not a death knell for your account, but would just be a factor and a part of the history of your account, that you could still improve with quality posts and discontinuing with asking for merits.

Did I start any hating and insulting post anywhere or maybe replying other people's post rudely ? if anyone start to be abusive and attacking you rudely whatever respond you give will be viewed as hating but I did select my word to not offend anyone here even when I am attacked, you seem to be someone who are very comfortable to insult others with your degrading profanity laden wording splashed all over your history.

You just feel bad about something that is why you viewed my reply as hating, perhaps maybe because of my dislike towards your favorite rude and arrogant merit farmer and rank builder

I'm going to let my already made comments on the topic or whatever post history that I have (and you have) speak for themselves.

In other words, you are beating a dead horse here, you gooftard (last part thrown in for funzies).

No.  There is no other way to increase your rank.  You must spam the forum in order to increase your rank.  Good luck.
