1961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralised exchange on the pair ETH-EUR on: February 14, 2018, 09:25:19 AM
You can buy Ethereum in euros on Kraken and on Bitstamp .
Personally, I use Kraken, the only problem is that the last months is very slow but the positive is that you can withdraw fiat in your bank account whenever you want.

Hello,

Does anyone knows of a decentralised exchange that trades on the pair ETH-EUR.
(there are few that are trading on BTC-EUR pair but I have troubles finding one that covers the ETH-EUR pair)

Cheers
1962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What phone apps do you use? on: February 14, 2018, 08:39:16 AM
I just use Bitcoin checker to check the prices in Bitcoin and other alts.
I don't consider myself a trader but I buy at low prices. Not by using my phone but on my PC. I don't use other apps, for safety reasons.
I use my phone in open WiFi's all the time and in many different places.
I've read a lot on this Forum and I know that a hacker could steal quite easy passwords and private keys during a transaction.
I don't want to be the next victim.
1963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regrets in cryptocurrency? on: February 14, 2018, 08:22:50 AM
I have discovered Bitcoin when it had almost zero value, and I did some mining too, for a night or so, but I wasn't impressed.
I admit I didn't read much about it, not even the white paper. Later I heard about it again when it reached $800 and dropped to $250.
I thought that I had to buy a whole bitcoin and of course I didn't buy any. This is the 3rd time, I own some coins of different alts, but the price is too high, and I can't buy many.
I am trying to convince myself that I am still in the early adopters.

1965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Problem on: February 13, 2018, 06:15:49 AM
I believe, the problem is not that people are not holding, but they are thinking old-fashioned, how to gain more fiat.
Cryptos are made to substitute fiat money and stop the control from the institutions. If we want to have the control of our wealth, we must start using them in our daily life. Do not just ask if you can pay in cryptos, demand it.
This is a new revolution and we take part in it.
It is not just profit, it is the future.

The problem we now face as a revolution is the fact that people are in the game to make quick money, not to make a difference to the way we interact with money... The market would be more stable if everyones investment stayed for a minimum of 10 years
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Benefits from buying a coin on: February 12, 2018, 09:06:37 AM
You know that the father of all cryptos is Bitcoin and Satoshi is his creator.
If you'll ever read the Bitcoin's whitepaper you will see that Satoshi's vision was an "electronic payment system without going through a financial institution".
If cryptos become in the future global we will be able to use them without sharing them with the banks.
This was his goal, the end of the current financial system.
So my opinion is that we benefit of buying cryptos, but on one condition, using them in our daily life instead of fiat.

So lets say I buy 100 ENG coins.

Who benefits from this? Yes I know the person or the exchange that sells it does, but that not what Im talking about.

What does buying the coins do for the developers? The project? The network?

Lets admit it, aside from the store of value and being able to pay for things, investing in alt coins is really just a digital coin collection.

Are we not all just picking our favorite coins and hoping that others think they are special and buy them which accounts for the value?

Its really just like investing in comic books, trading cards, art, or real coins.

No one has ever been able to explain to me why buying these coins helps in the functional use of them.

Before anyone answers, yes blockchain tech is great and will be used in the future, I am not disputing that, and to all thecrazy crypto zealots that say its a sign from above to bestow wealth on the needy or any other crap like that.....spare me.

1967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you predict coins will be stable again? on: February 12, 2018, 08:45:59 AM
The crypto market was never stable and my opinion is that it will never be.
It is like the stoke market, the prices are moving up and down all the time. It would be good if it wasn't so volatile because then we could start using cryptocurrency for our spendings.
Cryptos are made to substitute fiat and not for taking our profits and turning them into dollars.
The crypto market will start booming again when the regulations in Korea, USA and EU will be over.
1968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal is the first digital currency... on: February 12, 2018, 07:47:30 AM
I would say that you are right, but Paypal isn't exactly a digital currency. Paypal helps buyers and sellers keeping their credit card numbers secret. It is of a great help indeed for everyone who doesn't want to disclosure them to unknown people.
It is also a ledger keeping the amount money you have spent or what you would expect to get.
It is a centralized system compared to the majority of cryptos today and of course, it makes big money by depositing them in the bank at high-interest rates
1969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your alt coin rises to 1m are you pulling out? on: February 11, 2018, 11:21:08 AM
I think that it depends on your financial situation. If you had coins that worth 1 million dollars would you continue to live in a rented house?
Or would you keep your job that brings you 2k or less a month?
I believe that nobody would answer yes to these questions. Life is short and priceless, enjoy it. Don't spend irrationally but wisely.
So if I had these coins, I would sell as much as I needed to live a comfortable life.
1970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you selling your altcoins so soon? on: February 11, 2018, 09:51:34 AM
Sorry, but I think you are wrong. There are many people that are holding their coins, and other that are buying more of them.
When the market is down it is a great opportunity to buy some coins at real low prices.
People who are new at the trading game usually expect that prices are moving always upwards and that they are going to be rich quickly,
So they panic sell them to minimize the loses and real traders buy them.
This is trading.
1971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ethereum token send question on: February 11, 2018, 09:39:20 AM
This is a video explaining how to send ether and tokens, I hope you'll find it useful:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uJjfn4wizE

Thanks
I have two accounts for testing and each one with some erc20 tokens and ethers
I will send some tokens from one account to the other account by the send function on the wallet not the contract
It looks like the contract is not called and the tokens not go to the other account
I need to make a transfer function in the contract to send the coins by calling this contract
Can I directly send the tokens from one account by click the send link? It looks like that part not works
1972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: any opinions regarding MyEtherwallet.com? on: February 10, 2018, 01:33:46 PM
I think MEW is a safe wallet as long as you use it properly.
The most problems with hacked wallets have happened mostly because the PC had a trojan or a similar virus. In some other cases they have cloned the web page and people were scammed.
Except for bookmarking the web page of the wallet you have an other better option. You can download the web page from GitHub and use it locally.
You can read more informations here:

1973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about Eth wallets on: February 10, 2018, 11:27:54 AM
Hi Everyone,

I have a question about ETH wallet online.

1. If my JSON file created from MEW is stolen by the hacker. Can he have access to my MEW wallet even if he don't know the pass word?
2. What do you think of coinomi wallet? Is it safe?
3. Can I use a wallet like metamask in my android?
4. How to login in an ETH wallet online to avoid hackers?

These seems like a very noob question but spare me your sarcasm or insult. Just help me. Thank you.

1- No. The password encrypts all the information in the JSON file, if it is strong it can't be cracked.
2- I have never used it but it's used by 500k+ users without problem.
3- Metamask is a Firefox extension. According this site:
     https://github.com/MetaMask/metamask-extension/issues/2367
it works in Android Firefox. Personally I wouldn't use it because of safety reasons.
4- In my opinion the cold wallet - hot wallet combination is the best for all cryptos.
The keys are safe in the cold wallet which signs the  transaction and is transmitted by the hot wallet. For informations read this:

1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you truly believe in cryptocurrency on: February 09, 2018, 07:11:40 AM
I believe that cryptos will be the new way of transactions in the near future. I am not sure if the cryptos we know today will be those who will be used in this future. This is the reason why I am sceptical and I don't invest much in it. The early adapter of cryptos didn't have the way of thinking of the today people. They wanted to free people from banks and monetary institutions. Today everybody talks about profit, how to make 2K a month and how to be a millionaire.
O tempora o mores!
1975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to airdrop the tokens? on: February 09, 2018, 06:31:56 AM
The same question was asked here:

https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/29098/sending-tokens-to-multiple-addresses

I hope it helps you.

HI,

Can any one tell me the procedure to air drop the tokens. Assume i have to send the tokens to 10,000 people. It is not practically possible to send one by one. Is there an easy way out for this?  How other token founders are airdropping? Please explain....
1976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: blockchain.info app private key on: February 09, 2018, 06:13:21 AM
You don't mention the app but recently I found this website that may help you:

https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html

Good luck.

So all the guides are for the web wallet. But I have ERC20 tokens on the wallet in my app. I need to export the private key but there doesn't seem to be a way. I do have the back phrase but I can't even use that on the website. Anyone know how I can either export my private keys, or import my app wallet to the web? Pairing the wallets with the QR seems to do nothing.
1977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will there ever be solution to transaction fees problem on ethereum network? on: February 08, 2018, 08:03:50 AM
Bitcoin is facing similar problems with the transaction fees and has implemented segwit and now is trying the lightning network.
This is happening because the users of the coin are much more than some years before.
I suppose that if needed, Ethereum could issue something similar to his coin or develop something much different.
I think you have not to worry about these things, as long as there are developers supporting Ethereum (and believe me there are many of them) there will be always solutions to the problems.
1978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I name my coin "Bitcoin XXX"? on: February 08, 2018, 07:53:55 AM
If you search for the coin names you will find out that there are more than 10 coins having similar names with the name bitcoin:

Bitcoin2x, Bitcoinatom, Bitcoincash, Bitcoincashscrypt, Bitcoindark, Bitcoindiamond, Bitcoinereum, Bitcoingod, Bitcoingold, Bitcoinlightning, Bitcoinplus, Bitcoinred, Bitcoinsilver, Bitcoinultra.

By adding one more to this long list, even if your crypto has the best features of all other cryptocurrencies you will not do anything positive to your coin.It will disappear among the others.

It would be better to choose another new name for it.

Can I name my coin "Bitcoin XXX"?

Is there any copyright?

Thank You.
1979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH will touch 300 and BTC will touch 4000 in CNY? on: February 08, 2018, 07:37:20 AM
Right now it seems it is heading back to 10k again. But I think it won't last for long.
I believe we are going to have some low or lower prices in the coming months. The volatility of the cryptos will continue because big investors are investing in this (new for them) market, and they want to make money.
They are going to pump and dump some cryptos (as some people do in this Forum) causing troubles to all of us and to the reputation of the cryptocurrencies.
1980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to convert Electrum seed into the format BIP39 on: February 07, 2018, 06:33:10 AM
There is another easier option, you can enter the private keys one by one to the wallet that support BG and avoid this conversion.
I have never done it before, but they say that you have to send your bitcoins to another address before you enter the old private keys in order to claim your BG. (This one is in order to avoid double spending)
Just in case enter just one address, the one with the least coins and see what has happened.

Hi. I would like to get Bitcoin Gold from BTC which I had on Electrum wallet.
But there is a problem - how to convert Electrum seed into the format BIP39? Exodus wallet supporting BTG uses exactly this format.
On Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Electrum/comments/7dku5r/segwit_wallets_and_electrum/dq0be39/ they suggest to use converter https://iancoleman.io/bip39/  but I do not understand what to copy there... it's crazy collider  Shocked Huh but not a converter.
Can somebody help me to find out how to use this thing? Where should I enter seed from Electrum and which settings should I use?

Thanks a lot for your advises.
