1961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could 17.5k BTC actually be 13-14k pre-inflation? on: October 23, 2022, 05:54:55 PM
So i'm basically just thinking out loud but with inflation going rampant and last 2 years everything went up at least 20% in price and value do you think that 17.5k
(which could be a bottom in current bear cycle) BTC could actually be 13-14K preinflation and 17.5k as of now a bottom adjusted for inflation?
Bitcoin doesn't get affected by the inflation and one bitcoin is equal to one bitcoin all the time, the price calculation you mentioned is very generic with no evidence but as per the official inflation of US report it isn't 20% so it maybe 17K instead of 17.5K that's it.

But here something we should know why we have to face the inflation and what it does good for the people which is completely nothing all we face is losing the buying power of our savings and being slave for lifetime due to this fiat inflation trap.
1962  Other / Meta / Re: Will mods/admins approve of this? on: October 23, 2022, 02:45:08 PM
Yes, it cam be a good idea to find the people who is evading bans and abusing social media bounties but I am not sure how much people applied to the bounty campaigns and currently receiving the stakes? Few hundred thousands so finding all those numbers and compiling into a thread or software is almost not possible so what can be the better idea is to ask opinion about adding their UID numbers of social media accounts while posting the Proof of authentication post so atleast in future bounty hunters will have lesser time to trace and link the accounts.
1963  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking for regular/semi regular Bitcoin sellers on: October 23, 2022, 08:40:28 AM
Hi, I'm new to this forum but have been trading bitcoin on Localbitcoins for 8 or so years.

I am looking to find regular Bitcoin sellers to purchase from using UK bank transfer. I have a registered business in IOM and do not need to do any KYC checks on sellers (or purchasers for that matter!)

Happy to do it on LBC but I can offer a better rate offline - as the business I'd ask you to go first... (maybe its better we stick to LBC for now and use their Escrow service!!!)

You can contact me on WhatsApp +44 7494 032839 to discuss.

Many thanks, Ryan.

This may section may not be the appropriate place to post this thread unless you offer the deal price.

To OP no matter how much reputation you have in LbC here your trust level is completely zero so you have to opt for trusted escrows from bitcointalk if you're really intended to actual trade.

Warning: for others, myself a trader on LBC with very good volume will never appreciate such kind of practice because of the source of funds issues can really get us into big trouble and expressing this based on my personal experience.

Understood, thank you for your feedback!

I am looking at buying very close, or even below market value. No more than +/- 1%. Escrow service paid for my the seller at this price. No escrow fee if they go first. (I am happy to KYC to them in they so wish)

Make sense but you can't convince someone to go first since you don't have enough trading reputation to consider as trusted members so the choice is escrow so there is fee which depends on the trade value and with minimum amount which is likely higher than 1% trading fee of LBC. So even if you calculate you are going to buy higher than market value at the end of the trade.

If you're concerned about the KYC requirements on LBC which requires sensitive personal data for tier 3 members because it has huge annual trading volume but you're ready to do KYC here then why not on KYC.

Anyway good luck finding the partner. Cheesy

1965  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do I need to know has a newbie on: October 22, 2022, 05:49:51 PM
As many other comments said you have to read the rules of bitcointalk so you won't get banned temporarily or permanently.

But apart from this, I am glad to say that here you have thousands of other friends from all around the world so this can be a great opportunity to learn what to do and not to. I won't really advice you to go deep into the technical knowledge of bitcoin now but getting into the basics may get you to believe stronger and more convincing like what is proof of work, Blockchain technology, elimination of third parties while transacting, etc.

Keep learning, spend time of reading the threads which you like and make comment if you has something to say and ask any queries if you have any like this thread but don't forget to use the search button. Wink
1966  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Strategies for Trading. on: October 22, 2022, 03:14:23 PM
Hello guys. What are the possible Currency pairs trading strategies that a newbie can follow up. It should be from personal observations, beliefs and practices. Thanks.

I would like to remind that for newbies using stable coin pairs seems more easy to build their strategies even for the veterans. Yes there is risk involved while we use stable coins because it can reach zero at anytime but for someone to begin trading they should try short ti mid term trades with BTC/USDT and scalpe the profits from time to time is more efficient way to grow the portfolio value with less risk comparing with highly volatile shitcoins.
1967  Economy / Economics / Re: government hampers the country's economy on: October 22, 2022, 09:35:21 AM
Even though humans are evolved and living as a society still we are one of the fewest living species who want to survive first than others and that is also the rule of nature which is also evolved and who is having the powers making it more beneficial for themselves and there is only way to handle is to become one of them, possible but highly unlikely to make it happen by a common man. Smiley
Because until now, even though the method may have been modern, the law of the jungle still continues because when we are strong we eat and those who are not strong it is clear that they are eaten.
This is something that is indeed the simplest that often happens, the problem is that the government is always one unit because when one of them does make a mistake, no one will be able to pay attention because they will also be affected. When the government is too greedy with power and wealth, it is certain that civilians will eat it, although in this case not all governments are like that, but on average they are like that.
We can point out few countries with very less corruption because the past leaders made the policies stricter and unchangeable so current people who are in the power has no choice than to follow what it has been followed by them. While in general speaking about the nature we belong to that species as I said in the previous post because we know strong one will survive.
1968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important are exchanges? on: October 21, 2022, 06:36:59 PM
Bitcoins can exist without exchanges, but would you support the argument that the existence of exchanges are among the factors facilitating the popularity and accessibility that people have to bitcoins?

Even though I am one of the person who beleive exchanges is one of the reason why bitcoin is failing from its primary reason of existence which is to be used as exchange.

But we can't entirely eliminate the role of crypto exchanges because they made the market bigger so which increased the demand and popularity as well so they pmayerd important role for the growth of bitcoin but not in the way the Satoshi wanted.

1970  Other / Meta / Re: What is wrong with this? Can it be considered a signature? on: October 21, 2022, 02:39:41 PM
The direct answer is No, you can't add such links and it will be considered as signature. I had seen lot of such attempts by newbies but surely their post will be removed on most cases but since you are senior member they gave you warning and in future don't attempt such actions.

Signature is space where we can use our advertisement links and there is no reason why it should be relevant to our threads or where we post, cause we have dedicated boards where signatures are completely banned.
1971  Other / Meta / Re: Eliminate ban appeals, but change the perma ban at the same time. on: October 20, 2022, 05:50:43 PM
I am kind of convinced with this idea because more strict the rules then better place it will become but I feel it has to be handled case by case because for various reasons a member may get banned temporarily not just for spamming so more work pressure for the mods so just let it be, cause even now most people who banned permanently may come with new account but they have to start from the beginning and all so the current system is doing the work efficiently so I don't want to give more work load for the staffs.
1972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Want KYC at Crypto Casinos During Registration? on: October 20, 2022, 04:07:58 PM

I believe many problems and misunderstandings wouldn’t happen if crypto casinos were transparent and upfront with their players from the start.

You wouldn’t be banned because you were gambling from a restricted location only after you win. That is if the casino had checked this and informed you that you aren’t allowed to gamble there the moment you tried to register. Your withdrawal request wouldn’t have been rejected because you are underage if the casino verified your legal age during your first deposit or before that.

The way the system is set up now, you are welcome to deposit and lose, but please don’t win. Because if you do, you could be thoroughly investigated.

Most casinos are being transparent but in the way they are like each and every website, service platform all over the internet which comes under Terms and Conditions, but most likely people simply ignore to read them while registering and start accusing the casinos when their account put on hold for KYC verification.

Yes, it may look like casinos doesn't care unless the player win big which can be partially true to be frank but their are liable to everything which is happening in their platform for their laws so it is necessary to make it clear there is no kind of money laundering via their platform that is why mostly KYC has been asked at the time of withdrawals. But me I would rather to take KYC with basic information while registering instead of pseudo no KYC policy.
1973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you get over a bad loss? on: October 20, 2022, 03:11:53 PM
What's your favorite thing to do when you get a bad loss?

First of all I never want to be in that situation so I make it clear whenever I make a bet which should be affordable for me to lose or else just don't bet at all. Money management is really important for everyone, it may not get you rich quickly but it will save you from getting bankrupt.

Well, after a loss if the amount is considerably high then I will distract my concentration onto something else like a long ride at night, convo with closed ones, or atleast I will watch some motivational stories. Cheesy
1974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problem does Bitcoin solve? on: October 20, 2022, 01:15:42 PM
It makes the cross border transactions more convenient than before, we don't have to wait for the bank approval, no paper works or anything to keep our money since we are keeping it on our own.

And I don't expect it to solve the problem of world or fight with corruption since its just money and don't expect something to happen when people are not taking any efforts, to evacuate the corruption the society should fight together.
1975  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do coin conversion platforms work? on: October 19, 2022, 05:25:22 PM
Hi, yesterday I needed to have some of my BTC swapped converted for ETH. So I wondered what would be the fastest way to do that and I found changenow.io - a coin conversion platform. Basically, without needing to create an account or anything, I just send my BTC to a wallet provided by this platform and it sends me back ETH to the wallet address provided by me.

So I was wondering how does that work. Do they use a centralized exchange like Binance or Coinbase and somehow convert on them in which case they're somewhat of a middleman or do they use some other methods that I'm not aware of?

Thanks.

Edit:
I guess I meant convert not swap. Thanks to tranthidung for pointing that out.
Its called swap but the process is same as using the centralized exchanges but here you may pay more fee than the conventional centralized exchanges. I would still prefer the Exchanges than swapping platform cause expensive also the trade will not be instant since the coins has to arrive to your address since its happening onchain whereas with exchange its just instant if you go for current market price.

Where is the Nato countries, where is the international police aka USA... Roll Eyes

You already know that USA is leading NATO association and you know the role that they are doing in the Russian and Ukrainian fight. They are helping to the Ukraine to see they don't give up to the Russians and this make the war to continue, more people are dying in Ukraine than in Russia but I don't know if NATO will stop supporting Ukraine and if that will happen, the war can stop .
Actually the war is happening because of Ukraine interested to join NATO so Russia feel their border is under threat and the reason for this everyone knows so we don't have to go in detail. But the reality is US can't keep sending money to Ukraine again and again because its almost they gave 20 Billion while their own country is under lot of economic stress, high inflation, unemployment, etc.
I've said it numerous times: US-led NATO forces are misleading Ukraine. NATO is merely escalating the conflict in Ukraine. NATO cannot attack Russia directly; if they do, everyone involved in the situation should be ready for a global conflict. It will be better for Ukrainians if President Zelensky realizes that the US is using him to destroy Ukraine as soon as possible. With their current strategy, the US or NATO cannot stop the invasion. I pray for peace between Ukraine and Russia, and NATO should keep away.
Even Putin gave up invading Ukraine because a lot way back they came from Kyiv but the Russia wants to free the South and Eastern part of Ukraine so they can have control in the border or the Ukraine has to prove he has no intention to join with NATO at any cost or this will just bring the World War 3. Undecided

1978  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture HODL on: October 18, 2022, 01:55:30 PM
Only few food items can be kept for long time without any preservatives so there isn't going to be any food HODL trend as far as I know unless some conspiracy movies describes the corporates take over the complete agriculture and there is no more individual farmers but it is also too unrealistic to imagine.

For Oil like goods there is some kind of strategy used by the middle men all the time to hike the price and get most profits as much as they can which applies to tomato, wheat, any veggies, etc...
1979  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex withdraw limit real? on: October 16, 2022, 08:12:45 PM
Does this mean, you have sold with a marked order?

It happened a long way back so I don't remember exactly how much the order value or how much it was but I am sure its about few hundred dollars. Just for the example I have 100 coins which I deposited there to sell it after good market hike but what I witnessed is about they have only trade orders for about 20 coins with market value so I am being forced to sell for half of the market price like 60% only.

And it was really a good coin with very good trading volume on all the exchanges still that trade went in that way, maybe things have changed now or worsen but I sm not ready to take any more risk with them so moved to better exchanges.
1980  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex withdraw limit real? on: October 16, 2022, 05:45:02 PM
As per their official website registered user with level 1 tier can withdraw upto 10K USD per day but I am not using it anymore for years especially since the hack in 2020.

I just want to give you the warning about their reputation in the recent times is not good so better choose other trading exchanges like Kucoin which still has no KYC trading feature if I am not wrong.
Did you lose your money with the hack?
No I didn't lose any money due to the hack but lost the value of my crypto assets due to their fake trade orders which forced me to sell for low price than actual market price at that time but again it happened long time ago and it is one of the reason why I stopped using Poloniex.
