1961  Other / Meta / Re: Good move or nah? on: February 03, 2023, 07:19:36 PM
Nah.

Bringing minors, especially young children to the forum will not lead to positive outcomes.
We can't simply categorize them in that way because not everyone is same, for example a school kid of 15 year helped NASA to built a satellite with a size of palm if I am not wrong so as long as they are keen to learn there is no restrictions for them to be a part of bitcointalk and generally age barrier doesn't really work in the internet.
1962  Economy / Economics / Re: Indonesia Completely Positive about the Crypto - To launch Crypto exchange on: February 03, 2023, 04:31:45 PM
fully functioning National Crypto Exchange which will be under direct control of Indonesian Government.
This has bot pros and cons, majorly there will be no more privacy and all the trading activities will be directly reported to the tax authorities so anyone who is evading taxes will be in trouble and I am not sure about their tax rates and hope its a dair one.

Pro thing is, it will encourage the people to start more trading activity because if its from government then its a huge step towards the adoption and also more revenue for the government.
1963  Other / Meta / Re: QR Code Forum Avatars? on: February 03, 2023, 03:48:15 PM
Its an innovative idea though but I doubt it will be effective as a signature and avatar cause every QR code will look the same and we don't know where it leads unless we scan them from an advertiser point of view they like to show their brand so people will become familiarize with it and it is working for centuries.
1964  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto YouTubers are all financial advisors on: February 03, 2023, 03:52:28 AM
Most governments doesn't have enough laws and regulations for online contents they were posting so they are free to post anything that doesn't violate the YouTube guidelines which makes them to talk about anything as they knows everything they know.

For example someone can post how to make 10k subscribers in a week but actually they didn't even have 1000 subscribers so its nothing but a content to talk and to avoid any legal issues they add disclaimer and do it on your own.
1965  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Throw more light to the associated risks involved than just the profits. on: February 02, 2023, 05:06:08 PM
I think it has been told almost on every thread which is "never invest more than you can afford to lose".

People are keen to make money so they don't really concentrate on everything just only on the money aspects and may face issues if the outcome isn't what they expected.

Anyone with experience in the crypto investment or generally any investment will analyse all the risk associated with it before jumping in.
1966  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: If i move to Canada with BTC. Do i owe tax to canada goverment? on: February 02, 2023, 04:22:35 PM
Please read my questions again.

If someone buys cryptocurrency/ owns cryptocurrency before moving to canada then that means it is his capital before he become resident of canada so he should not be liable to pay tax on it in canada as this is the income from another country. no?
If you are a resident of a country at the time of selling your asset in their country then you are liable to pay taxes which can be whatever the rate the government proposed. But there are some countries with no tax policy which can be helpful for you in that case or else doing the trade-off the radar like via physical cash and nothing with bank account then you can avoid it too (illegally).
1967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Main Stream Media trying to defame Crypto / Bitcoin on: February 01, 2023, 04:00:11 PM
Look like mainstream media trying to put fear in people mind and they trying to give fearful statements about crypto even when it is not related to crypto and bitcoin.

See this example, The Winklevoss twins are in a big mess—and it has to do with crypto

This has nothing to do with crypto and they are trying to project that this bad may affect the bitcoin prices.

This things indicates that prices are being suppressed because of these news and they will blast very soon. Get in the train before its too late.

There is no wonder with such manipulation because they have been doing the same for years and will be keep doing it as long as they can. It won't affect the price of Bitcoin that much in my opinion cause most of the bitcoin investors may know what is this related to so the only thing is it will create fear among the non bitcoiners who think bitcoinis not good for investment.
1968  Other / Meta / Re: Hypothetical Btalk Forum App Version/ Social Media features? on: February 01, 2023, 12:20:44 PM
We don't even have bitcointalk website optimized for the mobiles yet we are talking about launching an app something similar to reddit, Instagram and other shits lol.

It won't be much effective because here we don't see anyone dancing or doing stupid challenge to get some discussion so launching apo won't get kuch traffic as social media but the only good thing is it will be good for readers.
1969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: February 01, 2023, 09:03:44 AM
On the other hand being alone can give enough room to think and execute your future plans, being alone can make you room to gain knowledge through various sources and the list is endless so being alone doesn't really drive towards gambling only our intention does so when we are clear with what is our need then we can use the loneliness to make things work.
1970  Economy / Reputation / Re: How can a person gain his/her trust in Bitcointalk forum? on: February 01, 2023, 07:44:11 AM
Suppose if I buy something from a user in this forum ? And after the transaction and trading  am I supposed to ask him to give me a feedback in my profile ? And doing it, how do you see this ?
If you're trying to do such thing then its called trust farming and that is not how the trust system is supposed to work, if the other party feel that you are trusted for future tradea then they will do it on their own.

Many people got such kind of trust ratings in the past now DT members are aware they should not do it until you have clean sheet of trading history with no issues for a while.
1971  Other / Meta / Re: my account have gotten hacked for some years now on: January 31, 2023, 05:09:01 PM
If you created a secret question when registering and remember the answer to the question, you can try to recover the account through that feature and it would immediately lock the account, making it impossible for anyone to access it.

After this, you can send an email to Support for hacked/lost accounts and wait for a feedback, your chances of proving ownership is slim as you neither have a signed message, or access to the original email.
But the team is in a better position to give you support.
I don't think there is any way to recover his account without the staked address but with the secret question he can lock the account forever if I am not wrong so there is nothing wrong by giving it a try.

How the email and account lost to someone or you just sold it now looking to claim it back?
1972  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anonymous crypto exchange on: January 31, 2023, 04:03:48 PM
Bank actually frozen the money not LBC so I reported about this issue to LBC support and trader details which I had an issue and he actually lost his balance on LBC cause they terminated it for violation.
Wow. So your bank stole all your money, and LBC stole all the money from the other trader. So both trading partners lost everything involved in the trade, while LBC seized the funds for themselves. That sounds like a great argument to not use LBC in the future.

Tier 3 LBC needs too much of information but for tier 1 and tier 2, we can make it happen with bank statements and national identity which I am okay with over I am getting tainted as a hacker because I received funds from a hacked account.
I don't know what they require at tier 3, but a bank statement is more enough to identify you and link all your activities with their platform to all the other data that various data brokers and governments hold about you.

Trading in cash avoids all this. No KYC, no loss of privacy, no risk of chargebacks or reversals.
Yes banks frozen money because its send from hacked account so its kind of chargeback from the actual owner and hacker lost whatever balance left in his LBC wallet, but how this can be a reason for not using LBC when we don't repeat the same mistake further.

Ofcourse trading p2p for physical fiat is best of all but not really convenient and also we may not be able to trade minimum amount like even in few hundred dollars so the choices are online trading platforms only.

Tier 3 needs utility bills, video call verification, bank statement and IT returns if I am not wrong but I am done with tier 2 and its enough for my p2p trade.
1973  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: January 31, 2023, 10:19:01 AM
There is no point in beating a dead horse that is how when you feel there isn't enough income in your locality then move to a place where the wages are better not even too far just to the nearer city where you can have better salary but comes with more hard work then only you can bring the real change in your financial status.
1974  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anonymous crypto exchange on: January 31, 2023, 09:44:52 AM

technically I didn't lose my money but the money will be on hold for 99 years.
Wait, what? LBC have frozen your funds for 99 years!?

It is absolutely not more convenient using a KYC platform. What part of scanning all your documents, sending them to complete strangers, waiting several days to be verified, risking your identity being stolen and your documents being sold on the dark net, and giving up every shred of privacy, is more convenient?

Bank actually frozen the money not LBC so I reported about this issue to LBC support and trader details which I had an issue and he actually lost his balance on LBC cause they terminated it for violation.

Tier 3 LBC needs too much of information but for tier 1 and tier 2, we can make it happen with bank statements and national identity which I am okay with over I am getting tainted as a hacker because I received funds from a hacked account.
1975  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anonymous crypto exchange on: January 29, 2023, 03:29:17 PM
The only but serious problem we may face while trading on decentralized p2p is receiving funds from a hacked account
Hence why I recommend using non-easily reversible payment methods. Cash is king in this regard.

I don't care whatsoever about the history of the bitcoin I receive, because I do not use anti-bitcoin services which promote the proven nonsense of "taint", and I mix or coinjoin everything I receive anyway.

so from that incident I only use LBC
And in doing so you lose all the benefit of trading peer to peer, since LBC is entirely centralized, requires KYC, passes your data to third parties, and can seize your coins. Further, just because the account you are trading with has undergone KYC, this does not prevent the person from being hacked.

Bank transfer is reversible too, in my case its a wire transfer and I released the BTC only after matching the bank account and ID provided by the buyer and when the actual owner claimed the money via bank support the funds were taken from my bank account with no notice and any info I came to know that myself while checking the statement and then only I proceed with LBC support about the hacker, technically I didn't lose my money but the money will be on hold for 99 years.

As a trader, I am okay with losing anonymity to avoid facing legal actions and a bad reputation to me. WHen comparing the risk of complete anonymous p2p the KYCed account looks less risky and I proceed with caution and also with persons of long good trading history no newbies and few months only account.
1976  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anonymous crypto exchange on: January 29, 2023, 02:50:52 PM

I don't think at this point you can claim CEXs are safer than DEXs, provided the user isn't doing anything stupid (such as selling bitcoin for PayPal or some other easily reversed fiat methods to a brand new account).
The only but serious problem we may face while trading on decentralized p2p is receiving funds from a hacked account, yes it happened to me once and followed by bank action but I managed to retrieve the funds back however the user completely lost all his bitcoin is his account for violating the terms and the surprising factor is even the scammer can provide the ID of the hacked account which made me to slip so from that incident I only use LBC so I may not any serious problems like receiving funds from hacked accounts while we verify the name of an account with the money account we received the payment.
1977  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: January 28, 2023, 04:47:42 PM
Which is the best?  Trading on bitcoin or investing in the stock market? The battle between short period earning and long-term earning. Share your thought about it.

You can invest on bitcoin for long term as well as on stocks for short term so the battle is decided by the investor so there is no actual thing called which is best among the two.

Let's assume one who mastered both bitcoin and stock market investing for years then imagine what they will do, for the information wise investors never forget the diversification so they will do both and try to dissipate the risk as well.
1978  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can old people use bitcoin? on: January 28, 2023, 04:19:15 PM
If they can use their smartphone then definitely they can use bitcoin and maybe in coming years we may see more easily accessible wallets for such old people so they don't have to do many techy works, they simply open the app scan the QR code, and pay it just simple as texting back.

Well, bitcoin becoming the mainstream worldwide accepted currency we still have lot of time so by that time we may have people with advanced technical knowledge so it won't be a barrier to adopt.
1979  Other / Meta / Re: New bitcointalk rank? 🔥 on: January 28, 2023, 05:36:37 AM
What would be a good name for this new rank?
AI suggested this, I mean LoyceV Cheesy

One rank above the Legendary is my wish.
My wish is to call it Legend.

But let's take it to the next level, if it is 2000 then we may see them high in numbers so keep the range much more higher and I thought 5000 merits is much deserved to sit above the legendary.
1980  Economy / Economics / Re: Track every rich person take on: January 28, 2023, 05:02:53 AM
For the record, not everyone who is working hard, taking risks, and having an enormous amount of knowledge and skills are not billionaire because they keep doing it for someone else to become rich I mean their boss. So rich people know how to make money from the effort of others.

Each rich people has their own unique way and anyone who followed them may not get the same chance as someone who is trying it for the first time so finding the unique is the secret key to success.
