buwaytress, dude, you paid out on a bet you didn’t lose (not yet at least).

rdbase said Izzy would fight Pereira "by the end of the summer."

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5312070.msg59472771#msg59472771

I dunno about you guys but my post clearly stated that Adesanya will not fight Pereira "by the end of the summer."

That’s the 10-1 odds I was offering, not that they’d never fight.

My post says he would fight someone like Jared "submission machine" Cannonier this summer, which he did.

Everyone knows Pereira was brought into the UFC to eventually fight Izzy; I just said Izzy wouldn't fight him by the "end of the summer” (which is like 3 more UFC PPVs).

Summer ends in what, September? Izzy is not going to defend his title in 2 months time after only fighting so recently.

@JJG
My average sell price was something like $53,800. I sold some at $60,000 & $65,000. I sold nothing below $50,000. I’ve bought a nice % of what I sold back. Still have a lot of dry powder though. If for example we were to go to something like $12,000 - $15,000 I might end up with a similar amount of bitcoin that I had in 2021 & that’s after buying a new home outright from bitcoin (no mortgage) & paying capital gains taxes.

Did you get thousands of questions from the exchanges you sold on, then thousands of questions from the banks you sent the money to?

I’d already verified myself beforehand with Kraken as a pro member or whatever they call it (the highest band). I sent them proof of purchases etc. This was a while back though. I have to admit they were fantastic, every withdrawal was smooth & quick.

My fiat banks were fine too as again I’d pre warned them.

The biggest issue I had was buying a house. The solicitor (property conveyancer they call themselves here) made me jump through hoops to prove source of funds. For long periods I thought I wouldn’t be able to use bitcoin generated fiat profits to buy a home. I printed off every transaction going back to 2014 & in the end they passed me.

To be honest though, I prefer if the price doesn’t dump too much more. Crab market until the next halving is fine, if possible. If we get rugged though I will of course buy the dip. Still sitting on a pile of fiat atm though waiting to see what happens.

An imminent recession or even great depression is one of the worst kept secrets in global macro finance. When it does happen & get confirmed by the asshats in power of first world countries, how do you think the bitcoin market will react?

I mean theoretically bitcoin should pump on such news but it never does. I’m just wondering how low we go when the inevitable happens.

1967  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 14, 2022, 08:19:37 AM
Why don't counties sit and find a peaceful solution to problems? Why only war?

War is a very lucrative business & corrupt governments (all of them) like to step one weaker ones to make money.
I think most people are in for a world of pain in the coming 12-18 months. The cost of living has soared & is set to get even worse. I don’t know how the average family is going to survive.

This is why we buy bitcoin though, to safeguard our future.

1969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 13, 2022, 07:20:34 PM
I don’t think there’s any need for another PL pool on the forum. As others have said it dilutes sign ups to both. I dunno, I just think as sportsbet.io has been sponsoring the PL pool for a number of years now, maybe Betnomi should find something else to sponsor & make their name in another sport here.

Some CL qualifiers on tonight, not the highest quality teams but always an opportunity to make some money gambling. Maybe a cheeky Steve style big accumulator Cheesy

I find these type of games have a lot of goals so perhaps & Both Teams To Score Accumulator has a good chance of being successful.

Speaking of PCs made me think about mobile, and then messaging apps as I was checking Bitcasino's channel. Is Telegram predominant in our community or does WhatsApp win here too, as reflected in global numbers? I personally think Telegram is way more enjoyable to use. What's your call on this?

Cheers,
Karl

I use both Whatsapp & Telegram, to be honest I use Whatsapp for real life friends & Telegram for bitcoin related friends & associates.
1973  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to make new all-time-highs within 24 months: Coinshares CSO on: July 13, 2022, 03:04:31 PM
24 months would take us to July 2024 which is approx May 2024. Historically we see an ATH not too long after the halving but I don’t know if 2 months after the halving is a bit too soon. I think more likely is we see an ATH in late 2024 but let’s wait & see.
1974  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2022-07-11] Bloomberg UK - Bitcoin Is More Likely to Hit $10,000 Than $30,000 on: July 13, 2022, 02:43:43 PM
Simple math tells that in the previous cycles the price has fallen
* from ~1170 ATH to ~150 bottom. 7.8 times
* from ~19900 ATH to ~3100 bottom. 6.42 times

This makes numbers like 8846 or 10750 look possible.
On the other hand, let's go linear: 7.8 - 6.42 = 1.38; 6.42 - 1.38 = 5.04 => (69000 / 5.04) 13690 looks more possible than the other variants.

This is all. Will history repeat itself this predictable? I doubt it. But it makes greatly scary news.
Also, can somebody tell those... journalists... that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, a coin, not a token?

We didn’t get a blow off top like we did in previous cycles so maybe we don’t dump as hard & deep as in previous bear markets. We are likely to hit a recession though so maybe you’re right. I think anything below $15,000 is a once in a lifetime buy opportunity.

Thanks in advance.

1978  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] DT2 Status; how many net inclusions should it take? on: July 11, 2022, 05:54:02 PM
I voted ‘3 or more DT1 inclusions’ simply because the harder it is to get on default trust, theoretically at least, it lessens the chances of abuse in the trust system.

Getting on default trust by having 1 DT1 inclusion is wide open to abuse & not good enough imo.
1979  Other / Meta / Re: differences in online crypto communities on: July 11, 2022, 05:50:59 PM
I have accounts on all of the platforms mentioned in the OP. I only really enjoy bitcointalk & bitcoin twitter though. I could quite easily stop using all of the others & not miss them.
