Serious answer: I think hardware is a good one. I was thinking the Gigabyte 5 pci-e motherboards or 1250 watt psu's. Non-serious answer: Your mom. The chick in your photo. Wait...how do I know you aren't the chick and you're the dude? What about bigger prizes? That does get you guys more excited? Some examples: - 50Gh 1 week mining contract
- 1000 BTC

Are 7970's supported in 0.5c?
They are not supported "out of the box" in 0.5c, but I got 7970's working by doing the following: Starting with a fresh install of bamt 0.5b (later versions should work i would assume). - X does not start on first boot. Have to manually type startx and it loads desktop. Desktop says no usable gpus are detected.
I start a root terminal and change root password.
- Remove previous version of flgrx (from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/FglrxInteferesWithRadeonDriver)
sudo /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh --force coldreboot
- download new 7970 drivers:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61987.0
- chmod +x amd-driver....run file to make it executable
- execute the driver install file
/home/user/Downloads/amd-driver....run file to install drivers.
- coldreboot
- 7900 series detected... start mining with cgminer.
Holyshit! Good to know. * gigavps starts plotting a purchase of 7970s.......

Hello fellow bitcoiners,
I have been thinking about doing a raffle for a while and I have a couple of ideas. But I would like to get your feedback on what kind of raffles get you excited.
So, in the spirit of listening to the community: What would you like to see in a raffle?
- How big of a prize do you want to see? - Are there specific prizes you would like to see? Some examples could be mining contracts, BTC raffled off, video cards, etc.
Thanks, gigavps

We are about 1.5 hours away from releasing the final 500 bonds. Make sure you have your bids in. The final 500 bonds will be released at 9am EST today. Once they are sold, transfers will commence for the pre-sales. Remember, the first coupon payment is next Monday 4/16 and will be for a full 7 days of 100% PPS earnings. This is an extra bonus to anyone holding the bond on that day. This is just the beginning.

Yeah that sounds like a pretty good cruising speed. I wonder if these can be volted down any further? On 5970s you can go down to .90v (610/200) for 550 MH/s, and possibly even lower on the voltage (in the .86-.88v range). Has anybody had any luck with sub-.95v on 5870s?
I run my 5870s at 650/150/.899v currently for around 295Mh/s. I tried the 750/150/.95v on a 5x5870 rig and things crashed before they even got started.

As an update for investors worried about me running, Nefario has requested and received the following information. - Copy of my driver's license
- My address
- Two confirming online sources of my address
- My facebook account page
- My linked in account page
Please know I am here to be successful in all ventures put forth. I would expect nothing less from anyone else running a venture such as this. Best, gigavps

This is a sore subject. BFL's response to partial payment until delivery is that they use the entire funds to support production. Whether this is true...who knows.
Seems they are very risk averse to fronting capital to run their operation.
I would think that BFL knows bitcoin mining is a rather risky venture. If they from $200k to build a bunch of mini rigs and the network goes south, all they have is deposits. They are putting the risk in the right place.

BTW I don't own any of giga's bonds and I don't intend on buying them at 5MH/BTC but your conclusions are ... off.
This bond offering is definitely not for the experienced miner. It is an easy fact to see that if you have the resources ($$$$), time and energy to run your own mining equipment, you will get better value mining yourself. If however, you're wife doesn't want 5Gh/s of heat producing noise monsters in the house, this is a great alternative to put your BTC to work.

Maybe I'll join in the next round, if I've figured out what makes the deal so good by then!
I think we'll get some coupon payments out and the equipment here before we talk about another round.

invest 1 btc for 1 MHash/s mining in your sexy setup
For 1 BTC you get 5Mh/s. Another way to put it, you get 1Mh/s for .2 BTC. Alas, this deal is no longer available as there are only 500 bond left and the bid are starting to pile up. -> https://glbse.com/asset/view/GIGAMINING
