Nick Gogerty No plans right now. the general consensus is that mining is a "Red Queen" competition which will have electricity resources deployed up to and until the marginal return doesn't warrent a return. Whether those resources create 1 MHs or 1 GHs is largely irrelevant. A more germain issue is network stability and block-chain integrity. The degree to which that may be improved vs. the risk and disruption of chasing every new algo is the real debate. The "efficiency" argument is false, as the efficiency at the individual miner level doesn't matter to the mission, it is the relative progress in blockchain stability over the long term that matters. Happy to hear arguments. Doug Felman and Justin Levinson might be best to take this up with in the forums. Remember though more hashing is less important and efficiency / hash is not really an issue given the marginal utility model of resource consumption.
