21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know that bitcoin has spread all over the world. on: June 22, 2024, 03:24:20 PM
Well, it's a bit contradictory if you said that bitcoin is known all over the world when you're a newbie, that's bound to happen that you know of things or not know of things when you're a newbie in something, you're supposed to not know anything about that so it's really something that's obviously going to happen to you. Now that you know of how widespread the renown that bitcoin has, I think that should tell you something about how good of an investment and currency bitcoin is, it's something that you should talk about your friends with, this is an opportunity of a lifetime and people will tell you that it's too pricey right now but in the near future, you will not be saying that because bitcoin is a long-term investment and a present full of doubts is going to be filled with a future of regrets that you didn't invest right now.

Remember to learn how to DCA with your investments though, it's always smart to invest but even smarter when you time and manage how you invest, DCA is pretty easy, at it's most basic, it's buy low, sell high but there's some carefulness and timing surrounding it.
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's Hold Strong, Not Hope for a Drop! on: June 21, 2024, 11:58:09 PM
You don't need much brainpower to understand that if the price drops, it's an opportunity for many of us to buy bitcoin for a much cheaper price, that's why people that truly knows how to navigate the bitcoin market doesn't get scared of dips in prices, it's because they know that it's an opportunity for you to get yourself some more bitcoin value without the worry that you're not paying your money's worth. If you don't want to be on that side, maybe hodling is still the best, your bitcoin might go down in value but it's not going to be any different in the long-term because dips will happen and you will think that your bitcoin value has dropped again.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs bitcoin on: June 21, 2024, 11:19:47 PM
You don't have to be strict about it in my opinion, I mean what if you use it on the first sentence but you're not talking about the network? I don't think that the added confusion is ever going to help you out in your situation because at the end of the day, you're probably still talking about bitcoin as a whole, and if you're talking about the network, why not just add the network after the word bitcoin and then your audience would know that you're talking about bitcoin network? How's that more confusing than capitalizing the letter "B" to denote the difference?
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Bet on: June 21, 2024, 02:34:35 PM
I don't think that bitcoin alone is a good retirement investment given how volatile the prices are and how crazy the prices can move, you shouldn't put all of your retirement money in bitcoin because you're going to end up making a big mistake, some traditional retirement investments are still a big deal in bitcoin so I'm not sure that a total abandon of them are the best thing, make bitcoin a part of your investment not your entire investment plan. Also, people that are saying that there's nothing wrong about investing in bitcoin for your retirement will probably do a bandwagon change when the price of bitcoin begins tanking.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitcoin] woman found with £2bn worth of bitcoin on: June 20, 2024, 11:05:42 PM
Most likely, that money didn't come from a legal means, that's probably why she's trying to launder that money, there's no way that you'd be evading taxes when the money came from a good standing right? It's in the article too that she's defrauded a lot of Chinese investors and was involved in a money laundering scheme so what did you expect? You do crime then you're going to have to do the time right? It's not a shame, you made money through illegal means then that means that you're going to have to pay for it eventually, that's justice.
From the news details, you can tell that the source of the money is questionable and for that bitcoin was only mentioned because bitcoin was a tool in the hands of the criminals to carry out the multiple million money laundering, but the crime could possibly be committed using fiat, and that is the advantages of bitcoin and it blockchain, anyone can track the transactions as long as there is a wallet address to analyse but it requires advance tool to detect such connections.
If you're reading the news of what's already happened, it's apparent and clear to everyone that this didn't come from any legal means but if this was at a surface level and no one has suspected a thing yet, I don't think that people like you or me would be able to tell that there's something illegal going on, we'd all probably think that good for her to be able to become a businesswoman in a field that's dominated by men. When there's no suspicion on the activities on your wallet or transaction then there's nothing really that would implicate you that you're doing something illegal.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legendary act! First Bitcoin Class in history. on: June 20, 2024, 10:17:32 PM
I agree that he is a legend. He was last active on the forum in 2019. I do wonder where these bitcoin OGs are and what they are currently doing. I also wonder about where the people who laughed at them when they spoke fanatically about Bitcoin, where they are currently doing. I wonder if they eventually invested in Bitcoin or are still stuck with their beliefs against Bitcoin.
As for the kids, I still have the same thoughts. How did they turn out?  Did they allow the teachings on Bitcoin to influence them? What have they been up to with regards to Bitcoin?
They're probably somewhere out there doing fine with their life and they've probably outgrown the need to be active in this forum because they don't have the time anymore to be active here, regardless of what's happened though, it's a mystery to us that we shouldn't be obsessed about. When there's no update on what happened to these kids, I guess we can't really know for sure what's really happened after that discussion made by that legendary dude. Regarding what those students are up to, I'm hoping that most of them are pursuing a career or passion that's technologically inclined, other than that, it's the same with Tuxavant, it's going to be a mystery until an update happens.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the world, there are only two types of coins: Bitcoin and other coins on: June 20, 2024, 09:07:36 PM
I do feel that Bitcoin is on a league of its own right now.. I has long surpassed other coins.. I really don't think there will be another Bitcoin. It has already made its stand and will continue to grow higher and this is because there is no monopoly control over it.
That's not just a feeling, that's a thing that's already been agreed upon by a lot in the community a long time ago. It's not for us to say that there's never going to be any other bitcoin though, humanity has been surprising itself from time to time for thousands of years with innovations already and I don't think that the template of one bitcoin is going to ever stop that surprising and impressive innovations anytime soon. Though I agree with almost all of the assessments here about bitcoin and that it's a unique among all of the altcoins out there, it's still not up to us to say that something has a finality in it.

29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: business ideas related to or involving Bitcoin on: June 19, 2024, 11:30:23 PM
Any business can be related to bitcoin nowadays, just put it somewhere in your business that you accept bitcoin as a payment and you'd be set for life. Also, it's nice that you're asking for ideas of business that you can start with the help of bitcoin or that's something bitcoin related but you have to remember that what works the best for you might be the thing that you need to work out on because you might think that the idea right now that's recommended to you is good business that you can do but then when you're doing it, you suddenly realize that this isn't it.
30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Committing mistakes helps us to become a responsible gambler. on: June 19, 2024, 05:58:00 PM
You don't have to commit the mistakes yourself, there's a thing called being wise and learning from other people's mistakes because it works the best, some might say that it's the experience that differentiates but does that really matter because in my opinion, it doesn't. Think about it this way, if you've got the opportunity to do things the right way all the way, wouldn't you always take that opportunity no matter what? That's the same thing with learning from other's mistakes.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake did it again! Another huge losing bet... on: June 19, 2024, 04:16:43 PM
Are you trying to say that stake.com are the ones losing?
However even when he has partnership with stake doesn't mean all the money he's gambling with are funded by stake.com, gamble with free money makes no sense because it looks like you aren't gambling at all because you aren't gambling with your money. If you want to talk about real gambler you have to make mention of gamblers that uses their own money to gamble, which means the person is a real gambler, but drake is a definition of a real gambler.
With the possibility that he's getting paid huge amounts of money with the partnership with Stake, and his music career being a success, I think that Drake isn't losing money and Stake isn't losing money either because Drake is advertising Stake and they're able to gather millions of people to get to their website. Maybe you guys are just saying that because you or me can't fathom how much money they're raking in profits, they're not the kind of money that's easy to earn in someone's lifetime, that's a definite thing. This loss might be big for us but this is just a cent to what Drake have in his total assets.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am begining on a short term investment. on: June 19, 2024, 03:06:47 PM
Do what works best for you in that situation, got to remember that not everyone has to do the same thing when it comes to investing, if you feel like you're getting overwhelmed by a long-term investment then don't do it but you have to understand though that you're going to need to be able to make some profit because it's a sad thing and a missed opportunity if you don't invest in bitcoin just because the long-term investment overwhelms you, that's not how you should do things.

If you think that you can't do it long-term no matter the convincing, you can probably learn how to scalp the market, although the profits that you're going to get out of that is going to be not a lot, but if you've got the drive to do it, scalping might just be for you. Good luck on your investment journey.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Habitat for Humanity International accepting BTC for donations on: June 18, 2024, 11:53:39 PM
That is very cool, although it is not an unusual thing nowadays.  Fortunately I have seen a lot of initiative from Bitcoiners to help out in many situations such as Venezuela and Ukraine.  I really do believe many of us here are well intended people.

I never heard of this Organization before.  But generally speaking.  One thing in particular I do not like is how people enter lists of such Organizations to have a parasite kind of life style and leech off them.  It is why I rather support other initiatives or, my personal favorite, I rather just save up my own Money and do good deeds by myself.  This way I can choose some body who I know for sure needs the help I am offering.  But that may be just me.
You probably need to get out much more or read more news because Habitat for Humanity is an organization that's been here for a long time. That's just you who thinks poor people or those that are in need are parasites, if the money can help stave off hunger at least for a day, I would definitely donate also, I don't think you're really donating or doing the charity yourself, you're probably just saying that so you're not that bad looking for saying the people that are helped by these charities are leeches, sure there are some organization that really don't help the people they promise to help and that it's a good idea to do the helping yourself but I don't think that's you.

Really cool that Habitat for Humanity has done this, that means that more exposure to bitcoin and more people are going to be learning more about it, hopefully I can do some donations there some time. This is actually a good thing too, if they consider the bitcoin donation for long-term hodl, they might be able to help more in the future if they wait for the bitcoin donations to go up in prices.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you prepared for the $5 wrench attack ? (1000 ETH stolen) on: June 18, 2024, 03:22:31 PM
With how I talk only on things that doesn't involve cryptocurrency and not telling anyone about my investments, I can say that I'm pretty much doing fine and that I can guarantee myself being safe from a $5 wrench attack not to mention that where you live is also a really big factor because if your city is safe, you can never worry too much about things like that anymore because you know that crime is an unlikely thing to happen in your city and I'm lucky enough that I live in a place where the crime rate isn't that much prevalent. If this attack can ever be avoided, I'd say that it's for the best that you should create a decoy wallet or something like that, helps a lot to disguise how much you've got.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: June 17, 2024, 11:49:38 PM
Thank God people are starting to notice on stuff like this because this is a big deal, if children and/or teens are getting into gambling because they see it as normal, we'd be seeing an epidemic of future adult gamblers that are going to be addicted to gambling, I think that parents should be educated right now about this and that it's alright to be strict or heavy handed when it comes to gambling, we all know that it's going to be a bad time for them in the future so why not try to stop them now and tell them what they might end up in the future if they continue gambling, maybe having a monitor for your child's online activity might be the best option even though it violates their privacy.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a legal jurisdiction backing up gamblers against the casino oppression? on: June 17, 2024, 11:13:37 PM
It depends on what type of oppression that the casino enforces though, because most of the time, casinos do what they think is for the best for the business and as a result, they get crafty in screwing over their players especially those that they deem a threat to their because they want to make sure that profit will be the best thing for them.

Basically, what I'm saying is that they don't want you to win a lot of money and that they want to make sure that there's more losers coming out of the casinos rather than winners and so they do everything they can to make it seem like it's the gamblers are one that's offending them by having an in-store policy that would be respected by the authorities and side with them, and as far as I know, it's just consumer protection policies are the most likely only protection that gamblers have against oppressive casinos.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: T-Mobile Partners with DigitMiner to Enter Bitcoin Mining: A New Era for Digital on: June 17, 2024, 10:05:34 PM
@NotFuzzyWarm is right, any links that would support your topic would be a really nice touch, people are already doubting what you're claiming so I'm not sure whether it's a good thing that you ignore that plea for a link. I do think so that you need to provide a link that would help with your claim because who knows if it's really true and you're just spreading fake news which is a likely thing to happen when you're doing this kind of thing. It wouldn't just be any news article too as you're going to be needing to provide a website that people will trust like Coindesk or Cointelegraph, if it's not there then highly likely that you're sharing a fake news.
38  Other / Off-topic / Re: Creating that dream of freedom. on: June 17, 2024, 09:25:55 PM
Welcome to the forum, your first step in this journey will almost always be the most important part of your life as a person that's going to be a part of this ever growing community, enjoy your stay and if you really want to learn on stuff, check out the Beginners & Help section of the forum, it will actually help you out because it make sures that you can ask the questions and get the answers fast or that you can check out the other questions that have been asked and answered, you will have things much easier for yourself with this one if you do and the bonus is that if you're actively participating in discussions there, people will recognize you and where there is recognition, you'd probably find it much easier to rank up.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you win? on: June 17, 2024, 04:29:38 PM
If I we're to do an extensive searching on how much I've won in gambling to conclude if I've won or lost, I'd probably say that I most likely don't have the win in my side, most definitely more losses. If we're talking about wins in a gambling sessions though, I'd say that I win at most in 35 to 45 percent of the time albeit the wins aren't going to be a lot of money though as most of these wins are mostly not enough to make prematurely quit that particular session because most definitely before I've arrived in a win, I've already got a 12 losses before 1 win so my mind would be on the drive to get all those losses back since that one win isn't enough. Moral of the story, don't gamble for the chasing losses aspect, better off putting your mindset in a way that would give you more entertainment more than anything.
40  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: June 16, 2024, 09:20:13 AM

There's no especially, everyone gets the same effect, we're just biased with the amplification because we think that age has anything to do with the intensity when there's really no difference, addiction hits everyone the same, the difference starts when they're affecting people that's beside their closest relatives and friend. Definitely a good thing to always teach by example, that's basically how you will make sure that you're not going to make things worse for you and your children because when they see that you're not gambling, that would also mean that you're not gambling thus lowering the chances of you getting addicted.
Perhaps there is still a difference in the fact that a younger psyche is more susceptible to stress, but it is not known how things are with addiction, and you also need to have enough money to be able to make big bets, because with small bets the losses will be insignificant. It seems to me that, first of all, the passion for betting is the desire to receive additional income, and if the player does not receive this, then his interest in gambling will subside. It’s difficult for me to understand at what stage this can develop into addiction.
Small bets are also something that would prolong your gambling and the more that you're gambling then the more you're exposed to susceptibility of addiction, got to understand that sometimes the one that you think is going to hurt you the least has the most damage that they might do in the long-term. I think passion is the right word for that, it's too profound for something like gambling which isn't really that helpful to someone, it's more of a habit rather than passion, I don't know how you can be passionate about gambling.
