161  Economy / Economics / Re: DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS on: March 15, 2024, 03:26:48 PM
It's not really fair to use $1.90 per day as a standard to judge someone is poor because each country has a different currency, minimum income and living cost. $1.90 per day in first world country is definitely a poor, but for third world country, such amount might be normal for them because they can still live with $1.90 per day.
I think that it's enough to be considered because if we complicate things just to suit it with other countries' living cost per day, you'll either get a number that close or it's going to be even lower just to do an average. I don't agree with an assessment that someone's "living" at that amount, they could probably buy a meal for only once with that money in my opinion, we all talk about inflation nowadays and it's not far fetch to say that that amount isn't a lot of money, it's not the 1800s anymore where that dollar and 90 cents can get you to 2 days, inflation has happened baby!!!

It's not "living" if you can only spend $1.90 a day, that's fuckin' surviving in hardcore mode.

It's also preposterous of us to divert from topic about finding a solution about poverty, the discussion was supposed to be about how can we alleviate the problems that those in the poverty line are facing, it's not a matter of what amount is considered poor or not because if that local currency's converted to dollar, it's still going to $1.90.

In regards to solution for poverty, US can easily end the poverty and housing problem in their country by getting a small chunk off their military budget and allocating it to the stuff that needs the money. If we're talking in global scale, international cooperations between nations that have an altruistic intentions is the best way to go, no politics, no corruption, just pure and unadulterated altruism to help the poor.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: China India tensions on impact to Global economy possible china India war on: March 13, 2024, 10:26:58 PM
India and China have never had an issue of war. be it a military war or an economic war. they are fine and India has never been intervened by the USA. and it's just you who wrote that statement. if the economic war between the USA and China is really happening. but if China and India there has never been news in the mass media both print and online that discusses this. and if the war happens there is no effect on the price of bitcoin. when US and china tensions were at their peak there was no effect on the price of bitcoin.
You're naive to say that then because they've got a border tension back in 2022 if I recall and you don't know China fully then to say that they've got not issue with India because as far as I know, China is fighting against all of their neighbors with border disputes, saying that history is on their side and that they're just reclaiming what they're culturally deserving of, which is in most cases territory that seems to overlap with other countries' borders. But aside all that, India won't be going in an all-out war with China though, it's got it's hands full with Pakistan ready to make the move anytime India makes a move that would tip the balance of the scales.
163  Economy / Economics / Re: Hardship as a global problem on: March 13, 2024, 05:46:36 PM
Suffering as a global problem is everywhere in all countries and it is very difficult for people to deal with it. These are becoming more serious problems due to economic recession when nations are united. The best way would be to focus on your work and solve the problem. It can be good to invest there is no corruption here. Good investments will help change lives.
It's not difficult as many think it is, if everyone actually starts caring about the well-being of other people and we start to be aware that politicians should serve the interest of the masses and not their own, we'd actually cut down the suffering that many people are feeling by half if not one third of all that suffering, job security, education, UBI (universal basic income), housing, livable wages, these stuff that I've mentioned aren't that difficult to do because there's money in every country that would be enough to do all of this but at the same time, still do all the things that they're trying to do with it.

Maybe the reason why we think that alleviating or struggling to end the suffering is a fruitless endeavor is because we're all losing something in life and that we're so content with what we all got right now that it's difficult for us to really think outside ourselves and it also makes us do difficult things and we're brainwashed that if we want to be a hero, it needs that we put our life on the line, if only people do the opposite and force the government to give us what we deserve, we'd probably be see a better future.

I still believe in people though despite my pessimism that we're not going to be able to do what needs to be done, we all probably just need an icon, an idol, a spark that would start the wildfire to drive towards change that would give us a better future and not just the politicians.
164  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prospects on: March 13, 2024, 04:37:35 PM
For me, there's a lot of limit to the rise of bitcoin price (if that's what you're talking about) is probably from the fact that there's a limited amount of people that can afford to buy bitcoin, as the demand continues to rise, the price of bitcoin is going to get more higher which would slowly but surely make it difficult for others to buy at a certain price that would make them be satisfied with the value that they're getting for their money. Another limit that I can think of is the enthusiasm of the people for bitcoin, it's going to need a renewed enthusiasm everyday because if we ever came to that point, we'd probably see a decline in demand even though there's a lot of hodlers of bitcoin.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the elderly homeless. on: March 12, 2024, 09:20:47 PM
If you want to achieve a complete privacy, you need to use Tor instead of VPN, VPN isn't completely mask your real locations. Bisq is the best choice for privacy, the disadvantage is just the volume.

AFAIK the only one centralized exchange that currently still allow you to deposit and withdraw (temporary) without KYC is MEXC, make sure you didn't trade a lot.

Your life makes me remember with OutdoorBoys, sometime I watched his videos and it's really interesting to life in nature!
You can further upgrade that by not just using ToR but also using Arch Linux, then set up your own virtual machine which I think you can set in any of geo location so you're not that easily tracked, ToR is definitely a useful and @Jet Cash can probably benefit from having a device that he can connect to the Internet anytime anywhere and it's much safer, that's what I've heard Starlink does but I'm not sure there's others out there yet that does the same thing so considering that might be helpful.

To @Jet Cash, will you be planning to settle anytime soon? Or are you waiting for the market to crash so you can buy a property?
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 12, 2024, 08:03:38 PM
If we're talking about how animal Mike Tyson is back then, I'd say that he's got a high chance of defeating Jake Paul but then again he's old so we'll have to factor in that immutable fact that he's not going to be as strong as he is back then, he's like an old tiger, he can still definitely kill you but it's already close to death's door and it's easily tired out so in this match it's likely that Jake Paul will just do some evasive maneuvers to tire out Mike and either that would go in his favor or Mike will do something about it since he's more experienced and he knows how to deal with it one way or another (Tyson v. Holyfield).

Has this been accepted by both parties though like did they do an agreement already or something like that? It seems kind of odd to me that there's not much press in this fight as this like an exhibition match right?
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 12, 2024, 03:45:30 PM
1. Don't bet all your money on one bet.
2. Bet the same amount on every bet.
3. Don't bet more than once a day.
4. Don't bet every day.
I can agree with 1, 2, and 4, they're obvious things that you should do after all, they're like the basic facts and it's weird if you ever answer differently on this 3 statements because either you're addicted or you've got a really twisted view on reality when it comes to gambling, maybe I can forgive a disagree on number 2 but that's debatable.

Now that's out of the way, number 3 is kind of a disagree for me because there's probably more games there in a day and if we assume you're betting the same amount daily, that means that you've got the funds to do so without any worries that you'd go overboard, betting more than once is good enough in my opinion since it's probably not enough for someone to bet on only one game per day especially if they're not gambling daily.
168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: March 12, 2024, 03:03:02 PM
It's a gamble anyway, I'd just take the 1 btc, it's not like I'm going to lose a lot of money if I don't take the risk, bitcoin is bitcoin and if the alternative to the game is that I'd take nothing if I lose, and I know that there's a chance that I can take it away without consequences, I'd just take the bitcoin and thank that person. As much as anyone can always argue that risking that 1 bitcoin would be a good trade since the risk is 2 to 1 but still, it's like 50/50, if maybe the odds would be in my favor like 70/30 or 80/20, that's the time that I wouldn't think anything other than taking the risk because I know that I'm going to definitely win.

This is a really good question, really makes you sift out who's crazy and who's not, who's the risk takers and who plays it safe. Seems that I'm on the not so insane play safe side.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About running an online casino vs an offline casino on: March 12, 2024, 01:59:29 PM
1. Is running offline casinos the same as running an online casino?

2. What do online casinos have to lose if they aren't making as much money as they intended?

3. With online casinos, isn't the number of hiring being limited compared to someone who wants to run an offline casino?

4. Which one is more easier to manage than the other?

And the last question is, which one would you go for if you have the resources?
1. It's not the same because offline casinos, you've got to deal with the lease and upkeep of the casino and many more, compare that to an online casino, you just need to invest in a really good IT team and a management to deal with customer service and you'd be doing fine.

2. Probably the investment, that's it I think that in any business that does apply too because, you've got into that business because you've wanted to make money than your initial investment right?

3. Exactly, that's why it's easier to fund an online casino, less people to run it means less money will go to paying employees and more money for you.

4. It depends because being the owner doesn't mean that you've got to be the one that does that management, you can always hire someone to do it and you can just sit back and relax.

If I've got the resources, I'll probably run both that is if I'm allowed to pick that but priority would be offline since you have more money that you can get back there even when you don't profit from the gambling side.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does possessing information play an important role in betting ? on: March 10, 2024, 11:37:13 AM
Of course, and depending on how valuable that information is, it's going to be the deciding factor why you'll want to bet on a game, take for example in basketball, the top scorer of a team is injured was injured during a practice, albeit that top scorer was able to recover, signs of recovery from injury is showing in his/her performance which ends up affecting their game performance that could lead a team that's not really in the zone which might lead to a lose that information is valuable in a sense that you wouldn't want to bet on them because they're likely to lose, there's a reason why insider betting or game rigging is illegal, that information is going to up your chances of winning by a 100% since the game is fixed, you'd know already who's going to win.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We need more multiplayer casino games! on: March 10, 2024, 10:30:12 AM
Is the win going to be split equally among the players regardless of the contribution? Because if that's the case, there's going to be a lot of slackers that are going to be abusing that feature where everyone get the win. It's probably not even the biggest problem for this kind of game too, there's also the fact that there's no communication in an online casino and it's difficult to establish that part especially if you're playing with strangers, maybe even with friends but I don't think that a casino would enable that you can play with your friends. Maybe we should stick to poker for multiplayer games.

Cool concept nonetheless but the brainstorming for the mechanics is going to be really difficult to do, maybe someday we'll see one become a thing and be successful.
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A personal view on: March 10, 2024, 08:50:20 AM
👉 how do you view women gambling in your area:
I view them the same as any other people out there, with decency and respect, they're just another gambler in my eyes to be perfectly honest. I mean shouldn't that how you treat any gender or sexes in any field or industry?
👉how do you view notorious gamblers:
What do you mean by notorious though? Notorious in gambling could mean anything, it could mean that they're notorious at lending money then my view of them is that they're the saddest kind of people because they don't seem to be able to stop even when they're at a negative balance, or it could also mean that they're notorious at raging or tilting when they're playing, my view on those people are that they're the example that I should never follow no matter what happens, they're a reminder to me to keep my cool under pressure or heat of the moment.
👉how do you really feel when you lose money on gambling?  Do you feel bad or just lie to yourself that's it was for fun?
I feel bad, lying to yourself is a bad idea, makes you delusional that things would get better when it's not especially in that situation.
👉how do you spend your gambling wins:
If it's a sizable one, maybe a dinner in a middle class of a restaurant or splurge on some art supplies that I've been wanting to buy for a long time.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 10, 2024, 06:24:06 AM
With this your approach towards gambling, This strongly suggests that you have other sources of income and not hoping to earn a living from gambling, This is literally the best approach to gambling and not putting all your mindset on what will be the outcome, basically hoping on the positive result, just do the proper analysis you should do and stake your games, Then whichever way the result goes you take it with good faith. In as much as I expect to win my bets, I don't hope for the outcome to always favor me.
I think everyone no matter what's your social status is should be having that kind of principle, of not using gambling as a means to make a consistent money or to do it as a job because it just doesn't work, even if some of you might argue that there's profit to be had, the risk of losing is always much higher than the chances of winning.

What OP experienced is something that only many of us can hope for, it's not something that can happen to everyone so if you're going to see this as an inspiration to gamble, think again and check your vision and principle because it's heavily skewed with the delusion that it's going to work for you too.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling : Next Generation Challenges on: March 10, 2024, 04:49:28 AM
If they choose to develop by having VR in gambling, they can probably make their dream of making online gambling more sociable, it's already a thing so they've got no excuse that VR casinos can't be a possibility or a real thing because VR Chat exists and it's been a thing for a long time, you can probably even use that as your basis for creating your dream of a more sociable casinos. The scary thing about their dream is that they're targeting younger generations, you know, the one's that rely on mom and dad's money, I can only imagine what chaos in the household this kind of dream ensues.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Create a player list of rights on: March 10, 2024, 03:20:49 AM
Could work but wouldn't this get abused in some way? You know when people get creative and they're given the right to have suggestions, they'll wear their thinking cap on so they can do the things that would either benefit them or exploit the system or just to plain old troll the sites right? Not to mention that even if we carefully check the listed rights, would we be able to persuade sites to follow them? Because it's an informal documentation right? Like those petition websites.
176  Other / Meta / Re: Ban ragiceski as he continues to spam the legal board on: March 09, 2024, 02:54:32 PM
I tried to translate the text using Google Translate and got an incomprehensible result.
I assume that what happened is a programming error and not promoting spam.
The time interval between posts is an average of 6 minutes so something must have happened.
Overall, will be banned soon.
Most likely reason, when I did the translation by highlighting one line and then doing a translation on that one, it returned something that alludes to girls in hotels or something like that, it's probably a pornography related advertising or the Hangeul of Google translate is really bad.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many satoshis are there per person in the world? on: March 09, 2024, 01:51:23 PM
wealth distribution has always been unfair for everyone. when you are born poor and turn into a self-made millionaire, you have done your job well in improving your life. to people with less opportunity, this is just a struggle, this is why we tend to migrate to other countries to work for it.

the internet is not even available in some parts of the country so i don't expect the adoption to spread quickly not everyone having 0.002 BTC.
It's just a scale, it's not meant to be taken literally, it's supposed to show how big is the scale that bitcoin encompasses by showing us how much bitcoin there is by distribution to the population. Wealth distribution could've been fair in the past but humanity loves to make a statement and they want the glamour of status and so they end up with this kind of thing where everyone wants to race to the top and rule over those below you.

In regards to the Internet availability, it's going to be this way for a long time because if we try to go for the provision of Internet connectivity wherever you are, a lot of trees and mountains are going to be toppled because there's a need for signal towers and they can't just build those towers without harming the local faunas, so yeah, it's difficult to solve that issue.

Imagine if this ever happened though, I can only imagine what the price of bitcoin will be when this happens.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you worried about the US Government moving BTC? on: March 09, 2024, 12:58:28 PM
Not ever, I've seen companies flood the bitcoin market back then and try to manipulate bitcoin price back then, US government isn't any better than those whales and institutional investors, they're nothing to us retail investors and long-term hodlers, they're not going to be a problem even if they move their bitcoins or sell of it. I'm more worried from the fact that I'm not getting paid enough in my work so I can invest more in bitcoin and still be able to pay the bills and some leeway to indulge myself.

I find it funny that people are always like this when whales or big money is involved in bitcoin, no matter what it does to the market, it's going to be just fine, no need to worry because if the price of bitcoin goes down because of them then it's good for you because that's an opportunity to buy cheaper bitcoins, get more bang for your buck.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing into Bitcoin as self pension on: March 09, 2024, 10:59:18 AM
Do be careful about that idea OP, you don't want to end up with no money in your name when you retire or that you've got smaller than you'd expect to have amount of pension money, don't rely on bitcoin as your way of growing your pension, maybe diversification can help you but other than that, you've got to be crazy to just rely on bitcoin, can you even handle the possibility that you're going to be seeing your pension money going up and down whenever the market is experiencing issues and FUDs because you've got to be really strong and won't be easily swayed by these FUDs and short-term price drops if you're investing your pension on bitcoin alone and can you handle hodling for a really long time? Because that's what you're going to be doing all the time, no selling or withdrawing, just accumulating.

Have you also thought about how to store your bitcoins long-term? Because there's a case of obsoletion in technology and you don't want that bitcoin get locked out because your wallet isn't compatible with the latest technology at the time that you're selling to claim that pension.
180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 09, 2024, 09:20:21 AM
Wow, that's just a surprising thing to happen, a lot of people have been talking about the punching power of Ngannou and it seems that it's not enough for a veteran fighter like Anthony Joshua, I'm sure that Drake's fine with that money lost, it's probably a small amount of money compared to what he's net worth so we don't have to be too sad about him losing that amount of money but still, it seems that Joshua isn't a showman because he quickly finished the match and it's such a performance too albeit a short one. Props to Ngannou for fighting even though it's a KO, he'll definitely be picking up after himself but will definitely move on and improve, his instincts in boxing are ever sharpening after all.
