Well its certainly not the correct 24hr BTC volume, but whether fake, an error, or we just dont know what it says... not sure.
Just because it's an aberration doesn't mean it's not the correct volume. But it's definitely an aberration. Wish my Chinese friends were online.

I'm not sure if this page is using their API, but this column of http://btckan.com/price: 24小时成交量 is 24hr BTC volume. That's also on their front page. Now ~90,000BTC.

Either they are lying or something massive just happened: https://btc100.org/Can any Chinese speakers check out their site and see what's going on? Do they have a lot of market depth? This is a fairly fast change from 1-2K volume last week. If they are reporting false volume, it should be obvious to people trading there. Edit: 99,000

PM sent.
I have gotten a decent number of people to install Gliph, btw. I will use this to encourage them to hookup a wallet. Thanks!

That's another thing I've noticed a lot of scammers do: they go off the deep end and start viciously attacking/cursing when any hint of suspicion is thrown their way. A reasonable person knows that trust has to be earned and anyone who has spent 5 seconds reading this subforum can see just how many scammers are constantly making new accounts. Some of them will spend hours building an account up to steal 50 cents worth of BTC.
So this reaction is another red flag.

I doubt they are lying about volume. That would be obvious to anyone trading there, and would probably scare them off. One thing they might be doing is automatic arbitrage with other exchanges. It's hard to get more info without being able to read the language... I appreciate any traders there who chime in.

Yes. You proved that neither you nor the site op understand probability. I'm rooting for you to do the smart thing and quit while you're ahead, regardless.

Calling Tomatocage a scammer is a strong indicator that you are a scammer. Just a friendly heads up.

You aren't beaten if you just stop now.

This is not the first time. CNY volume has really taken off in the last 2 months! More tickers/charts need to add the rest of the CNY exchanges. Many of them only have BTCChina - which used to have ~90% of the volume, now they are typically closer to 10%.
Can't wait to see what happens when China -really- notices Bitcoin.

That link seems to be showing me a different record than your details...says unknown charge on Cole Rodriguez. Or was Aaron Carter an alias? I can't find a record matching Aaron Carter on the site.

Maybe people should just bother to read a *tiny* bit about Bitcoin. You can't honestly do any investigation of bitcoin for more then five minutes and not learn about cold wallets. I am full of sympathy, but for god sake read the freaking manual.
Why would you have any sympathy for a known scammer?
|
|

You should probably read more. For instance the threads where this guy is outed a scammer, you easy target.
Also, again: "all of this funds for his coding" ... "15 BTC" .... laff
How could you doubt this poor victim after reading their lengthy and creditable post history?

Is it known who submitted these transactions, and with what client?

Concerted campaign across the board to spread FUD and bizarre disinformation? Anyone would think this was all in anticipation of a known future event... which could be anything to be fair. I do wonder if there's an expected price rally, though. Or a stock market tumble (stimulating a price rally ) I think Andy is just trying to be sensationalist and get views, not trying to spread FUD. Overall his attention to Bitcoin has a been a positive thing for us.

The value of a MasterCoin is clearly as subjective as the value of a Magic-Bean. Nonsense. Complete, unmitigated nonsense. Mastercoin now has upwards of $660K in the bank. It is not 'subjective' - as you say, but rather it is math. There is an integer number of Mastercoins and the value of them is $660K/[that number]. That tomorrow something might happen to make them lose value - also applies to the dollar, yen, euro, et cetera. It is not subjective but rather the value is set by open and efficient trading markets of which Mastercoin was until about an hour ago - now it is closed. Closed means you are locked out. Ouch. If you really bought in without even reading his thread, I feel bad for you. But given your lack of post history I'm guessing not.

No one knows when it will happen, today, tomorrow, next week - but it could happen any time. The asksum on Gox has been dropping steadily since the withdrawal problems became. There's currently only ~24k btc for sale under $190 on Gox. There was over 24k of volume in just a few minutes this morning.
The caveat is that when it happens, it will likely be a much less accurate reflection of the current value of Bitcoin, even less than now.

I tried first class international shipping when it first became available through Paypal. Out of 4 packages, 1 took 3 weeks, 2 took over 6 weeks to arrive, 1 was totally lost. The lost shipment was to the UK, one of the 6+ week deliveries was to Canada. I stick to Priority now.
