I like your art style, it is subtle and straightforward but clear.  It always seems to hammer home the point the title is making.  Very nice, and good luck.  The moon is a popular theme these last few weeks.

Thank you! Grin

Why are some of these $100 and others are $25?  Do you have a list of the $25 wallets?

The prices are determined by multiple factors:

- complexity of the piece
- size of the piece
- time involved (although I don't subscribe to the "labor theory of value")
- significance of the piece
- supply and demand
- my mood

After which I apply the "S.W.A.G." Pricing Formula (Scientific, Wild-Assed Guess)

Ultimately, it really doesn't matter due to the fact that I (and the mint) will buy them back for what they were sold for (dollar value at the time of original purchase) which creates interesting opportunities for people who are looking to buy or sell bitcoin.

The "Honey Badger" wallets were $25 but they sold out. I created a Collector's Forum on my site where people can trade with each other so you may see one pop up there or here on BitcoinTalk.org.

With all that said, I will likely create more $25 pieces in the future.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

29  Economy / Collectibles / "ETFU" Art Wallet on: March 14, 2017, 02:59:43 AM

Pen & ink original drawing on 7″ x 9″ acid-free paper suitable for framing or display in a presentation book.

About this piece: On March 11, 2017, the SEC denied a request by the Winklevoss Twins to set up a bitcoin exchange traded fund. Many observers speculated that this would negatively affect the price. This piece illustrates in a chart formation the price of bitcoin leading up - and immediately after - the decision. Bitcoin, the “honey badger” of money, didn’t care what the SEC ruled. It shrugged off the news and resumed its path of doing what it wants to do.

Note: This art wallet does not contain bitcoins and comes unfunded.

Price: $100 + shipping ($5 to U.S. and $20 international).

Buy-Back Guarantee:

30  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Forget Brain Wallets, get the new Skull Wallet! on: March 12, 2017, 01:28:23 AM
I've added the following statement to the website to describe this piece. I suspect some of you may have similar feelings Smiley

“Since June 7, 2011 – the day I discovered bitcoin – I have not been able to keep it off my mind. The potential to change the world and give greater freedom to those who want it is literally “mind-blowing”. Bitcoin has been “on my mind” everyday since – and probably will be until the day I die. To me, this piece has multiple meanings: the skull is both a “piggy bank” for storing bitcoins but it also represents the potential death of traditional money and power structures. It can represent the thousands of times bitcoin has been declared dead – only to rise again. This drawing is also a self-portrait. The hand is mine and I imagine I’ll probably take a few bitcoins with me to the grave.” – Steven Michaels

Ah, yes. The honey badger. Scientific name: Badgerus Chuck Norrisii. Nothing can stop it, and you'll never see it coming.

35  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New Art Wallet - "Chicken Noodle" Campbell's Soup on: March 07, 2017, 02:58:44 AM
Trader Steve, I feel compelled to share something similar I did last year. I'm not trying to thread jack I promise.  Roll Eyes

Want to trade, straight up?

Crypto for scale.

Yes, I love to trade. I'll send you a PM. As an FYI for everyone, there will be 32 of the "Chicken Noodle" pieces. Next one will be dated tomorrow and can be reserved immediately. There are still several of the "TOMATO" pieces available as well.

36  Economy / Collectibles / New Art Wallet - "Chicken Noodle" Campbell's Soup on: March 07, 2017, 01:59:56 AM
I've just released #1 of 32 for the "Chicken Noodle" Art Wallet:

About:

The Soupe Du Jour series by Steven Michaels is a tribute to the iconic pop artist Andy Warhol and his famous 32 Campbell’s Soup Cans.

This series will chronicle the price of Campbell’s soup – in “bits” – over 1,024 days.

There will be 32 pen & ink drawings of each variety of Campbell’s soup creating the opportunity for 32 “complete” collections. The first, “Tomato”, is dated “Jan. 30, 2017” and a new drawing, each an original, will be created every day for 32 days before the next “flavor” is started. This process will be completed when all 32 varieties of soup have been created.

Great for birthdays, wedding gifts or to commemorate that special date. Future dates can be reserved with prepayment.

Each piece is 8” x 10” on acid free paper with archival ink. Suitable for framing or display in a presentation book.

Note: These art wallets do not contain bitcoins and come unfunded. You can substitute a BIP38 encrypted wallet upon request.

Price: $100 + shipping ($5 to USA or $20 to other countries). Pay only one shipping fee for up to 5 units when checking out but you will have to do the calculation yourself and then send only the modified amount at checkout (the shopping cart we use does not do it automatically but will still receive any amount you send).

More info at BitcoinMint.com

Hey Steve,

Does there happen to be a pricing error for this piece?

I don't think so since it says title one bitcoin and it clearly states price for it on the site but this is one costly piece.
Also, can you explain what exactly is this piece about?

The price is correct. This is an abstract piece which I felt was a great way to represent something as abstract as bitcoin. Since bitcoin is data, any data can be bitcoin. Why not art? Combine this with the fact that we will buy it back any time (less a small restocking fee) insures that this is a virtually risk-free way to enjoy art. Smiley

The wallet is not loaded but it can be sold to us (or other collectors) for bitcoin (or fiat) at any time.
