11.8 preview fixes the problems of hangs while mining and watching videos.
11.7 WHQL fixes it too, but both 11.7 and 11.8 now trigger max cpu usage in *any* opencl app.

thats SDK problem, not the driver... try using OpenCL 2.4 and 11.7 or 11.8.

I've tried different SDK versions, and 11.6 never gave me 100% cpu usage. 11.7 however ALWAYS gave me 100% cpu usage.

It's a driver bug.
You mean SDK 2.4 + driver 11.6 = No 100% CPU usage?

Nope.  That's the combo I have at the moment, and I get the 100% usage bug Wink

same, thats what i came from too, and its 100% still there.

11.7 no flash lockups ! finally...

had blue screen lockup too and ati tray tools lockups, had to unitstall it then reinstall it and recreate OC profiles in it.

Just polling the videocard can trigger UVD and cause the crash, so turning off hardware acceleration is a no-go. (opening GPU-Z, PCSX2, or just the video settings panel in CCC all trigger the problem)

I agree.

Enable unofficial overclocking in MSI Afterburner. Sapphire Trixx never worked worth a crap, even with my SAPPHIRE non-ref cards.

Follow this guide, and you'll be good to go. I can drop my mem clock down to 625, and core clock is practically unlimited.

sorry but this will not work with these cards

OP, how did you go ?
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Command terminates with "Killed" on: July 27, 2011, 06:03:29 AM
So, running poclbm on Ubuntu Sever 11.4, and everything runs fine, but like an hour in it'll terminate the process with the line "Killed".  Anyone else encounter this?

is it your own box or a server ?

theres is a command to get the exit code which can give you more info

sometimes it has to do with resources running out or in my case (rtorrent on vps) it was banned and killed by a higher up level cron job
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TradeHill - Why we no longer accept Dwolla and an open letter to Ben Milne on: July 27, 2011, 05:59:09 AM
also the only reasons exchanges started using dwolla was that it apparently didnt do chargebacks, as it seems and if this is the case and its system can be frauded its only a matter of time that other exchanges get hit or remove it as an option...

Lying and deception and keeping quiet is exactly what is WRONG with most businesses and why I am totally uneasy around all salesmen and businessmen.

Bitcoin is the light at the end of a shining tunnel out of that shitpile system and one with alot more transparency and honesty I thought... I think tradehill being open about their problems is a hugely positive thing for their reputation.

this +1
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Alex Jones part of the Illuminati conspiracy against Bitcoins????? on: July 26, 2011, 11:52:58 PM
i agree with prev poster, i dont think its a conspiracy , they are more likely selective about their advertisers and also possibly a conflict of interest. im sure they'd rather give midas the chance to start offering coins as well b4 letting in potential fly by night competition

* so with an exchange you will have the time to load the coins into there, this varies but generally isnt long maybe within 1 hour.

* then you sell them at what you can get, this is instant but if alot of coins the rate will drop if low market depth, or you wait for a price, this takes longer

* then you need to make withdrawal by one of the supported methods you can use, eg bank wire this may take a few days but will vary depending on distance, bank, method etc.  somebody with some experience with TH can tell you how long this generally takes or you could ask them directly

that last step will be the slowest generally, and may be the deciding factor about what exchange you go with and how fast your cash flow happens
40  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Optimizing ATI performance, 6950 in particular on: July 26, 2011, 12:39:49 AM
one thing to watch out for though with a mem clock that low is it may be effecting your hashrate as was my case, so i had to ran 300-400 to keep that 'normal'.
