I finally got around to install the android app, but it won't authenticate my API, it says "Checking BTC address" then "Invalid BTC address......"
yeah, i didn't put my btc address in there, I put the api key

haha... there goes that theory/advantage/whatever you want to call it. i guess the math is either wrong or right, but if the later, doesn't present a very pretty picture... I guess we'll hope it's wrong. Check out this mornings version of minergain.com - changing that N/A for the week to 0.0000 inflicted all sorts of punishment on the numbers it appears.  I'm not sure why everyone seems to think this month is so bad...with the average pool hash rate we've had this month the expected number of blocks is somewhere between 8.2 and 8.4 for 31 days...we already have 8. Even if we don't get another that's pretty damn good! 100% agree. I haven't heard anyone say this month is bad, did I miss something? |

KanoPool is not for the weak of heart or weak knee'd. It is for intelligent people who understand the game. Kano Pool is for those who like to make money at Bitcoin Mining and have a firm grasp of math. If you can't handle not getting a payout every day, which equates to just a few bucks, then I understand why you left the pool. BUT if you understand statisitics, probabilities and like big fat delicious payouts when they come then.............. MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!! The best Bitcoin Mining Pool on Earth. As for me, my miners continue on. NO FEAR HERE!!! Come On Block!!!

This isn't exactly how you win new people over, homey.
The website looking like a middle school science fair project with an app to match IS a legitimate issue. Someone suggesting that making it more usable than the current pile of dogshit would cost over 100k? or take time; implying that over three years isn't enough? Come on, lets be realists.
ROI is why I chose this pool, and adding a bit more horsepower to the pool would help lower the awesome variance.
Ok. This happens every time luck turns bad for a bit. We all start jumping on each other like a pack of hungry wolves.
Par Avion has valid points. And being hostile to each other solves nothing. We need to look at how to bring in these new miners. If it takes change the look and feel of the site, then we should at least discuss it. Look at what is successful, figure out why, and try to improve on that.
We should be the biggest pool out there. Why aren't we? That's what we need to solve, not attacking people who try to bring an idea to the table.
I've been mining here for the last 2 years and I have no plans to leave, but we have to figure out a way to attract more miners.

That moment when your entire neighborhood loses power and you immediately think your miners are to blame. Either way the worst news is the zero shifts being recorded as I wait for the power company to figure it out. Let's all take a moment and pray for the bigolin house to have power restored quickly, and this block to crack even quicker!

As a new miner, my gripes are many; take it as constructive criticism.
There are a lot of repeated questions on here that could be easily addressed by an updated more concise website.
There is no way to know exactly where your ramp is, and with a ramp up taking over a full difficulty adj period, that is a lot of time to wait, coming from someone who already waited 2 plus months for their miner to arrive.
The website sucks: Compare it to slush, because yes that is the biggest competitor. Their interface is gorgeous. Lots of information, lots to see. All relevant stuff is addressed and laid out.
The app sucks: Again compared to slush, its ridiculous.
Spend the time and money to update the site. Make it more user friendly.(read newcomer) I'm slowly getting the hang of things, but I have to say none of the questions I've needed addressed would have happened at slush. Theres really no reason for the website and app to suck so hard in what is more or less the top of the computing world.

I have zero complaints so far from this community or the payouts. The luck sucks right now, but that's luck for ya. We also had one hellova luck streak with 4 blocks in a couple days. I'm happy, but if bright lights and colors are needed to keep you clapping your hands, you could always leave......unless you have a couple thousand terahash, then moan as much as you wish. I just wanted to thank everyone for the priceless information--even patience for us new guys--and especially for my friend that sold me a miner and Kano for making this pool possible.
It's been a great first week learning and mining toward the next block. I'm glad to be a few, meager TH part of something so great.
I don't believe in superstition, but I sure do have my block party dance ready for the good news.

Looks like everything is back up now. I just logged into the website and I was able to reboot one of my miners.
My miners were not disrupted at all. Only HTTP issue with the site. Yep, miners continued. But they need to find this block, I just don't like this block for whatever reason. We all enjoy the dancing, eating chicken memes, but when you get down to it we trust math, and math will prevail. Mine on. Don't worry. Just mine on. |
