This thread has become annoying and exhausting, offering no value with the current conversation.

244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE REAL reason why BTC has a slow adoptive rate on: May 14, 2014, 09:26:11 PM
There is absolutely nothing stopping people from going about and researching Bitcoin themselves and learning about it, we can't be held responsible for peoples laziness or incompetence, I have another theory regarding Bitcoins slow adoption rate and part of the problem is that Bitcoin is trying to undo over a century of yes, I'm going to be blunt here, social engineering and brainwashing. We have been brought up with very little knowledge on how global economics and currencies actually work and that has been a deliberate and systematic process attempted by our governments to keep us ignorant.

Can't have the unwashed peasants understanding how their money works now can we? They'd revolt and bring down the central bankers early on, this is also a reason why many central banks are refusing to define Bitcoin as private money because that would nullify what they have been teaching the public for years, that their paper currency is the only true form of money, why do you think they keep trying to say Gold/Silver are commodities that can be bartered? It's the same situation.

2tights

No, I use stratum port 3333
without --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 only

miner not finding shares

with --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625

you mean this.value? setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer.exe -k groestlcoin -o 192.168.2.2:17772 -u user -p passwd --xintensity 400 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 24512 -w 512 --auto-fan --temp-target 82 --lookup-gap 0 --difficulty-multiplier 0.0039062500 <br/><br/>This?

I compiled windows sgminer from the source. Tested and works with stratum with diamond kernel!
Enjoy!]  Wink

Doesn't work for me. Says "waiting for work to be available from pools" for some time and then that no pools can connect. Tried 3 times. Pool URL is correct, internet works ok. Perhaps missing some library/dll ?

Thanks

It only works on danbi's pool I think: http://dmdpool.digsys.bg/index.php
I am currently mining there with stratum. Remember to use stratum port 3333 instead of 3345.

20Mh+
works only with --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625

without --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 only

and miner not finding shares

is this normal?

Does it look similar to this?

PoS is set to 50% per annum with minimum 30 days coinage required

Cool! I'm looking forward to it.

I just solved another block that was 1.001 DMD. Is this normal to have received tow of this size now?

Transaction fee?

That would be my guess. I solved one for 1.001DMD and another for 1.003DMD so far.

Cool. So the question remains unanswered about when they start accumulating interest. Or is that not true....I don't know,.

is staking already enabled ?
the ever unanswered question  Grin
Some feedback would be nice regarding staking... Does anybody with large amount of DMD saw anything ?

I'm not sure if its anything but a block a solved yesterday was for 1.001 DMD

I currently have 52.001 DMD is that a lot? I don't know.

Source code fixes to sph-sgminer published at https://github.com/danbi/sph-sgminer.

Hope to have it soon merged with the main branch. You can compile your own version. Let's hope someone does it for Windows users.
not working for me... on a R9 290x, started since 5 minutes didn't see any share yet.
May-be you should adjust the difficulty (not everybody has 6x 290x or things like that)

I have an R9 290x and use sgminer

Which pool are people using to mine this coin?

read the previous posts

respond to this and tell me which pool people are using.

.....yawn... I just solomined another block.

If you'd care to enlighten yourself, you could read back at how the conversation has developed.

If I may recommend, this thread needs some more proactive and serious moderation. As much as people have the right to their own opinion it's in your own benefit to also make sure that your image is kept up to standards. Also it makes the reading easier for anyone coming. Who wants to go through 50 pages of bla bla bla?

I read all 50 pages so to be sure I was not talking nonsense and also to shut the mouth of those who think they know it all. However what I have seen is that some people have legitimate concerns and not all are addressed in a way that shows that the devs/admins have appreciated how those are important. Perhaps those concerns are addressed behind the scene, but answers given don't give much confidence (all the time). I am not dismissing the work the DMD team is putting into this, but I believe a better quality PR would benefit the coin even if the coin is not yet ready for pool mining. I would rather wait for something good, NONETHELESS I want to make sure I am waiting for a good reason! Feel me?

Instead of replying to each comment from users and sending funny pictures here an there, it would be better to add updated and meaningful information in the OP so that it is easier to find. Only respond to what is really required and essential. Being the admins of this thread you can easily remove posts. I would be you I would have already removed quite a few.

Also, I have come to understand that the CVO is not a native English speaker. Absolutely nothing wrong with that except that this is an international website and the implicit/explicit language is English. Therefore standard should be kept high. Since we don't have you physically in front of us, the first thing that people will see are your words and they will judge you on that (as I have already seen it). I myself I'm not a native English speaker but I do an effort in making sure spelling and punctuation is as good as possible so to reflect a good image. The CEO on the other hand seems to be writing fine.

As I mentioned earlier I personally would also like to see (sooner rather than later) a profile of each team members involved in this project. Background and pictures and any information that is necessary for people to give you their trust. It gives people something to hang on to. Like anyone, I also want to make sure we are dealing with competent people. That's for me the least. At the end what also matter is perceverance.

Finally, what makes a coin last is not how strong or secure the code is. It’s the community behind it and how people decide to trust it. Simply look at Bitcoin and Dogecoin; two very different coins with flaws, but the biggest communities of all coins.

Keep it tight.

Note1: -- Just found another block! --
Note2: -- Delete this post if you need too, but do something --

Good luck

I think you make a lot of good points. I don't think everything is being done as best as it can, but what is? They're trying their best, but we'll see if their best is good enough, right?

Don't get me wrong, I'm being blunt with you guys because I want the coin to be successful, I've mined it for a long time off and on.
You need to know the truths about what our perception of you is, so you can learn and grow from it.

its YOUR perception Cool

mine is that we worked whole day
and we did think lets give the community some good news
and we earned "blunt" in first reply.....

a suggest you all smoke a blunt and CTFD...
