21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 15, 2019, 03:31:42 PM
That's why I mentioned the S model, which doesnt have a low power mode to compare.

Personally I think they shouldnt even sell the higher speed version with the last 10TH costing 1000w.
22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 15, 2019, 03:15:36 PM
I am a bit surprised at how much of an incremental upgrade this is.

M10S = 55TH  @ 3400w
M20   = 58TH  @ 3300w

Considering its a new chip the upgrade seems rather marginal
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MinePhone WX [ 2 ETH / month], Mine on mobile phone? on: March 14, 2019, 03:28:16 PM
Obvious scam is obvious. You should break that link in your post so you dont accidentally point someone to this garbage.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: way to use all 8GB VRAM which is half disabled on P104-100 card on: March 14, 2019, 03:26:21 PM
You guys realize grin31 is meant for ASICs and not GPUs right? Grin29 is specifically for GPUs....
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 12, 2019, 07:28:14 PM
I heard that there is possible to connect 3A and more powerful fans to S9. Does anyone know how?

I run thousands of S9/T9s and we use 3.3v replacements fans on all units. They dont increase cooling any, but they will not burn up the fan port on the controller, you can use them safely as replacements.
26  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: March 12, 2019, 06:54:58 PM
Hi

Anyone knows the root password for putty?
I have E9.2.

Thanks

ebang will NOT give that information out.

I asked the CEO directly and he told me no.
27  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how many S11,S15,T15 did bitmain actually manage to sell? on: March 12, 2019, 06:50:55 PM
while i don't agree with the alleged pre-mine story that many people have to say about bitmain , this is mining speculation section, and everyone has the right to speculate as they see fit, they don't have to go to "their facilities and seen how they operate" to speculate, and if you think that this is a requirement then maybe we should leave this board for you to speculate with yourself  Grin

I am just offering context for my rebuttals of what people say is going on, that my replies and statements are based on experience more than speculation. A lot of people on here offer their opinions as facts, im just trying to show how I came up with what I am saying

What are you even talking about?
29  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Opinion on starting new farm on: March 08, 2019, 10:39:21 PM
I dont know what kind of pod you have but you are not sticking 2+ megawatts in any pod commercially available
30  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 Hashboard error: 2 boards=0 chip, 1 board=33 chips on: March 08, 2019, 10:37:29 PM
That board is toast.

Also, there is no way to know which chip is bad, just from the unreliable output of one version of firmware.
31  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: March 08, 2019, 10:32:08 PM
Anyone heard anything about a more efficient miner?

Avalon has always lagged in the efficiency department but they are on the cusp of just being an afterthought at this point.
32  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Buying Avalon 741 miners on: March 08, 2019, 05:32:59 PM
I have about 750 Avalon 741s available. They can come with PSUs or not. They will all come with data cables and AUC's. Can also supply controllers and USB cables if needed. PM for more info, selling very cheap in bulk.

This sale would be from a legit business with a commercial invoice, no funny business.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: THE TRUTH on: March 08, 2019, 05:21:33 PM
The large mining farms then start becoming unprofitable since all they see in crypto is pure profit and greed, and will start shutting down.

You always say this kind of garbage when you have no understanding of what a business is thinking. You just use the same tired old tropes to whine about large miners. Sorry you werent made a millionaire by running a few GPU rigs, but you dont need to spread this kind of garbage because of it.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Grow tent - 72 GPU's , Help! :) on: March 08, 2019, 05:16:21 PM
I also think that you need to think about increasing the height of your tent.

Increasing the height will just give more places for the hot air to go and stagnate. It is all about evacuating enough hot air to keep things flowing.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SAPPHIRE Solutions will Support C32/Cuckatoo 32 on: March 07, 2019, 09:43:11 PM
its still a 5 series card, they sure as heck dont draw 200w just because of a few extra memory chips

I am curious why grin31 is being targeted when that is the ASIC friendly version of the algo, Grin29 is meant for GPUs

Why put out a product targeting an algo its not meant for? I am a bit confused by that.

From the mimblewimble github:

Grin POW Basics

Grin accepts 2 Proofs-of-Work. Both are variants of a concept called 'Cuckoo Cycle'.

CuckARoo (or ASIC Resistant) is intended to be mined by GPUs. It can be mined using a 6GB+ GPU.
CuckAToo (or ASIC Targeted) is intended to be mined by ASICs in the future. It can also be mined using 11GB+ GPUs.

While yes with 11gb GPUs its possible, but that still not what it was designed for.

Edit: And how will you support C32? That requires a minimum of 22gb of VRAM for its graphing from what I understand.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how to buy cheaper control boards for your antminer. on: March 07, 2019, 09:40:20 PM
Merited for an extremely useful post.

Also, when you boot up the controller, make sure no cards are connected, then flash the proper firmware for what you need before hooking it all back together. Ive had some weird errors flashing them while connected to cards they dont recognize.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Grow tent - 72 GPU's , Help! :) on: March 07, 2019, 09:13:22 PM
A setup like that is all about evacuating the heat so I would not bother with an intake fan. Just use a passive intake with a filter on it. If you are blowing air around try to make it all directional, like from the front blowing over the rigs with the exhaust fans pulling from behind
38  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how many S11,S15,T15 did bitmain actually manage to sell? on: March 07, 2019, 05:24:50 PM
More people jumping to conclusions without facts in the race to bash bitmain, gotta love it.

They are not PRE mining anything. They are mining publicly available coins.

They are under NO REQUIREMENT to tell you what they mine, just as there is no requirement that you tell me what you mine.

Their first BTM miner has been out almost a year, yet you claim its an undisclosed asic of some sort?

P.S. Bitmain is under no obligation to tell us when they are testing a new miner before releasing it to the public. Its called Quality Control testing. Of course they are not going to tell people what they are developing and testing, especially with all the competition in the hardware space now.

P.P.S. They test their miners for about 72 hours with a burn in test. Once the test is complete, they are packaged up and loaded on a truck within a day or two. They dont mine on all the hardware they create for months and months like people seem to think. Ive been to their facilities and seen how they operate. Ive walked their testing labs, their warehouses, their packaging and transportation facilities. I speak from experience unlike 99% of this forum when talking about bitmain.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Is Now Mining (BTM), over 50% of hashrate, new undisclosed ASIC on: March 07, 2019, 05:13:19 PM
I love how people just constantly ascribe bad intentions to NORMAL HARDWARE TESTS.

Of course they are going to test the hardware before selling it to a mass market. There are under no obligation to tell us what they mine, no more than you are obligated to tell me. They choose to publicly release the numbers, they are not hiding it. Also, bitmain has a known working relationship with the Bytom team and developed the first ASIC in concert with them so its a no brainer they would be supporting the network itself.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Fork/Block Reward Reduction Kills GPU Mining Profitability on: March 07, 2019, 05:09:21 PM
Just to clarify what i said Wink A week after The hard fork, My ETH earnings did not reduced at all !!! (Mining ETH right now with around 2.8 GH/s)
Your statement "ETH reduced their block reward from 3 to 2 Ethereum per block SIGNIFICANTLY reducing miner earnings" is not correct! You concentrating on reduced reward, and not calculating the lower difficulty bc the hard fork, and totally left out the delayed difficulty bomb from your calculation :-)

That title is there because Vosk sadly goes all in on clickbait titles for his videos and bitcointalk threads, yet the information is often sadly incomplete or missing very important details.

My ETH rewards havent changed a bit either.....sadly this is just more misinformation all dolled up to look like its more than it is
