I'm curious to see the average users level of experience.

Cryptoday.info - that would be great to do! I think that is definitely a barrier in the user onboarding process(in getting them to start mining)

A few small steps for new users who are new to crypto can seem daunting - and to people who aren't tech savvy explaining setting up workers, etc , is a little much but that's also why I'm going to set up a video today on GPU Mining + Pools and I'll show off ALL the pools we have for GryfenCoin now.

I do wonder where in the heck all that hash power came from but I guess GryfenCoin is getting a little more popular with the pools.

Any given pair of currencies has a price ratio that is set by market forces of supply and demand and this price changes over time. Both of these statements apply just as equally to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin.

A financial option is the option(right or obligation) to buy or sell something. Options are used when one desires the right or full obligation to buy an asset and pays a premium to the seller for this right and pays the seller a variable amount for the option.  An option to purchase or sell a certain amount is fairly cheap whereas a full obligation is a preorder. In the case of currency options, the assets in question are altcoins/cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin.

Ancient Greeks Rocked Options

For example, the first option ever created is believed to have been bought by the Ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician Thales. He heard a rumor that the coming olive harvest would be more bountiful than usual and, after giving it some thought, bought the right but not the obligation to use some olive oil presses (for making olive oil) at a small fee called a premium.

The owner of the olive oil presses agreed that, when the spring came, Thales could but did not have to rent the olive oil presses at a price that was set in the winter back when nobody (except Thales) knew that olives were going to be in abundance. This would cause the production of olive oil to be cheaper so more people would want to do it. This would increase demand for olive oil presses, the other resource (other than olives) needed for producing olive oil. When demand goes up, price goes up with it. Anyone owning olive oil presses could rent them out at a profit.

So when spring came round the harvest was indeed larger than usual; Thales' hunch was right. Thales executed or exercised his option, gaining rights over the olive oil presses for the season. He then rented the presses out at a profit, which is equal to the revenue from renting out the presses minus his sunk cost of the premium to the owner of the olive oil presses in the winter and variable cost of paying for the cost of the olive oil presses in the spring.

The wave of hash has now subsided.  Definitely working on the difficulty readjustment.

Alright I see it just broke through and is now sitting at 13,441, Stefano is working on the difficulty adjustment issue right now.

Alright guys, thanks for the input.  The block structure will be untouched and we'll have to solve the problem through the difficulty adjustment system.  I think this is good to get all the bad ideas out first so we can figure out the best way forward.

We definitely want GryfenCoin on some exchanges and I believe we're on track to doing so soon.  If you guys could help out in finding someone for the android wallet and the paper wallet that would always be appreciated

We're going to have another sale of coins and shares of interest but the delivery of the coins will be inside of gryfX - Options Market.  The user will have the option to purchase coins in a one time deal or set up recurring purchases & deliveries.

 The shares and coins will be priced in consideration of market & IPO prices of coins to avoid flooding worthless coins on the market.  Any coins purchased would have the value replaced with gold/silver/etc to further back the blockchain.  Share profits would go towards development and basic recurring costs(servers,etc).

Using our previous limited IPO we were able to create and launch GryfenCoin, I think with further iteration and involvement we can bring gryfX up and online.

On gryfX the only thing setting us back currently are a few bugs in some of the key math of the options calculations but nothing major.  There are no major features left to be added or some greater integration for version 1.0 just some dirty nasty bugs we're trying to iron out.

Thanks for the input on the mining.  I was starting to have similar feelings and sentiments myself and it's good to see someone from the community point it out even clearer.  I want to change the block rewards structure myself.  I was thinking of increasing the 50k blocks and 5k blocks substantially so that solo miners could rule the day.

Stefano - the main dev- is looking into the randomness issue of the blocks - I've watched the network cruise at over 500MH/s the past day or two and it has gone up on the blocks but it has slowed down substantially.

I added it to the Blog announcement, plus I added a link to SGMiner for Windows - since that is a real easy to use program for mining on GPU's and such.

I also added Bounties to the announcement.  We're looking for an Android Wallet & a Paper Wallet and willing to give 1,000,000 GryfenCoin each.  PM me or the Baron for more details.

And we're working on the options market - it has been a process.  We have had to redo a few things due to security testing results but we're looking at about 1 week away from the release and you'll be able to purchase shares that will yield coins or have recurring coin deliveries set up inside of the application.  We have the mobile version of the interface done - I've just held off posting pictures because the Desktop version looked...bizarre... until last night when we brought it up to the standard.   Sorry for the delays on this.  I want to have something hit the market asap so I can start getting feedback but at the same time I don't want a scenario where everyone loses coins because of simple code bugs.

We didn't want to put it on an exchange for the first 30 days.

We've got it sent out and and the only person affected has had it made up to them.

Yeah, what is up with this "exchange" ?

I PM'd them, and I attempted to sign up for their site and I'm waiting on just the email confirmation.

I'm really really hoping this isn't a scam because that would suck for the coin holders who transferred a ton of coins in.



The only case of saving grace I could see this in this would be if it were  a manually run exchange-experiment in some sort of Wizard of Oz backend test and they got overwhelmed or burned out and are lagging on it.

Also, why would they need 19 people for THAT?  I mean really? 

The amount of coins discussion was like so 5 pages ago but if you do the actual math on how many coins are added, and added per year you'd know that wouldn't happen for a very verrrrry long time.  It's to combat a deflationary spiral that results in a lack of liquidity.

How many people would be interested in a Mac Wallet anywho?
