21  Economy / Economics / Re: The benefits of risk taking on: April 08, 2024, 11:11:49 AM
Risk is when a person is exposing him/her self to dangers, possibility of incurring loss or misfortune
So many people run away from business opportunities just because they fear they will run into loose and didn't want to take such risk
I have come to the realization that the word risk is part of life and that it is better you take part in it than not
From history it has been said that the great entrepreneur and business men/woman where all risk takers when you take risk you throw your self to the real of possibilities
In this life you have to be able to make some decisions what making a better change in your life to achieve what you want for example, to build or grow your self you need to take risk and leaving of your comfort, innovation and creativity, increase confidence, adaptability and barriers breaking.this above a just little of the benefit to achieve when taking a risk in your career or life as a human .

I agree with the op of this post that taking risk is part of growth, as there is a popular saying that, “He who fails to take risk, already risk to fail” this saying is just trying to say that, for growth to happen, there must be some level of risk and the higher your risk, the higher your gain.
22  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Can't we stand up to defend our right? on: April 07, 2024, 10:10:39 AM
There is something that has become a serious concern to me and I can't help but share it here. It's about how the military and security agencies treats most youth on the street just because they dress or look a certain way that appear rich. There had been several instances where an average youth had been molested and his privacy infringed upon just because of the way he dresses and sometimes because he is driving an expensive car. Should we now dress messy or board a public vehicle when we have the means of driving our own?

What informed this topic is the incident that I witnessed while returning from work this evening where a young guy was heavily slapped and embarrassed just because he dresses a certain way and when he was stopped and asked to unlock his phone he refused doing so and told them they where infringing om his privacy.

Is it even right for the police to forcefully attempt getting access into our mobile device? Isn't that an infringement on our privacy?
Nigeria case no be small case oo… why majority of people can’t stand up to the because someone on fire arm have to be respect and been follow gentle so he don’t just kill and say it’s a criminal which the caught doing something and normal can be said to defend or to protect there bad act and character.we should try to avoid some problem and do some little coperation with them.but normally police aim are to protect life and property..but now there action have gone beyond, but trying to extort money from hustling youths even with the low employment in the country.
23  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: School fees hike on: April 07, 2024, 09:20:41 AM

My fellow Nigerians una good day SIRs and MAs, I come with one matter way they worry all the students for 9ja, this matter don rise but e com worst as this man way them they call am JAGABAN become the president.
The thing be say school fees done increase to the level way be say some students way their parents no get money, them done quit school because no money to afford the school fees.
As I never see any discussion about this school fees matter nai make me raise the alarm, because plenty of us nah 9ja students, abi we no hear say 2 days ago protest happen for the university of LAG (Lagos State University)? This one nah the unilag protest link, and the worst part of the matter be say even the police men beat up students.
Students they vex how this man go just come one day increase school fees reach the amount of money way e reach to buy some piece of land for some local areas, abi e good like that?
Nigeria cases it’s not a small issue, firstly our major problem is leadership, political system: the politicians. The don’t give the Nigeria education system focus on improvement and development.when even budget of 1.5 trillion naira is set for Nigeria for development there’s no check and balance of the account how the money is spent at all.this politicians don’t care because there student are sent outside the country to school and which is bad for us.with out considering the masses the just increase or inflate price of school without out caring out a survey and how the country and hardship is in the country.so Nigeria still need to go under seriou restructuring to be able to succeed and have to pass this trying times.
24  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Your knowledge from school de help you abi e no de help you? on: April 07, 2024, 09:14:02 AM
Na for discussion forum like this you go know say no knowledge when you don gather so far is a waste. Sometimes discussions go burst out for some board inside the forum like this and if you read through the replies you go find so many persons when de struggle to relate with the topic being discussed because they are probably hearing it for the first time.

For economy board for instance, you go de hear discussion about inflation, monopoly and someny other small small concept when we don learn for secondary schooll snd for you to fit contribute meaningfully, you need understand those terms. Apart from that one, e get plenty discussion when you go fit easily relate with based on the theoretical knowledge you don been gather for school.

So my question be say, how your general knowledge for school don de help you for both the forum and for real life?

For me knowledge from school is helping matters a lot for example understanding historical events and context.with My knowledge it help me in understanding and relating it to my society, economics principles, political  System which we practice in Nigeria and the type of constitution.Additionally, education equips individuals with critical thinking skills to analyze and address complex issues, contributing to potential solutions for societal problems.
25  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: WHY ARE NIGERIANS UNHAPPY on: April 07, 2024, 09:08:10 AM
This question conveys a lot of opinions. Whilst some people would blame it on the state of the economy or the bad leadership or some might go as far as saying the political juggernauts at the top are responsible for the state of the nation, I would personally like to see this situation is emanating in a chronic manner as a result of the overconsumption of other people’s lives. This , I’d like to say is the root reason because if everyone can learn to overlook how classy and prosperous others are and instead focus on what you have and strife to achieve your own goals instead of trying to live or mimic someone’s lifestyle, I believe things are practically going to get better .:: for me, happiness is a choice and how you chose to achieve it depends on what happiness truly means to you
Omo this one na big issue sha,Nigeria can be unhappy based on different circumstances such as economy issue such as hardship in the country ,political instability  and social unrest and alot more.

In this life you should not have a reason to give up except you are dead because as a person you need to be dedicated and have focused on everything you do,sometimes things might not be moving fast or as your expect but consistency is the key to getting the achievement of things in life.
27  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What do you know about Nigeria (History) on: April 04, 2024, 10:18:50 PM
Naija Na one country we be say get level, bcos em no only they rich for natural resources but e get rich history too, I remember those days wey them dey teach us some of this historical events for school but most of us done forget.
So make we celebrate our country here by saying one historical event and the date e happen so make others wey no know learn ,

 1. On April 2nd 1972 Naija change from right hand drive wey the British people introduce to them to left hand drive wey dey common
Among French people and the Americans.
2. Gen Aguiyi Johnson ironsi na the first military head of state of Naija.
3. 1st of January 1973 Na when our country Naija start to they use Naira.
My people make una add the ones wey una still remember.
Omo when I was in primary school theirs a song we do sing, what do you know.i know Murtala Mohamed the great soldier which created the 19 states so Atleast I know something lol about my country Nigeria.
28  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Regulation of price by the government on: April 04, 2024, 09:34:21 PM
One of the major problems we are facing in our country Naija is the regulation of price should be handled by the police or tax forces to monitor every citizen selling goods, must of the company really take advantage of the current situation of the price because of the dollar rate, even when the dollar is not high some people are selling a particular commodity or goods in different rate, this is because no one is monitoring them, and it really affecting the poor because of the price rate, don’t you think this is really happening? Everyone should know what I’m talking about. If you go to 4 different stores you will find out that it different prices.
If our government should look into this price of a thing.
Omo this issue is a big challenge in Nigeria,Nigeria need to try create a bench mark, which help to regulate prices of things been sold.but looking at the system those companies and industries own are still by the Nigerian politicians who benefit from it increase in price of goods in the market.
29  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Technology a lasting solution to unemployed youths on: April 04, 2024, 09:29:27 PM
I greet the house,
Looking at the way things are going in our dear country, the inflation, price hike, high cost of living, unemployment, corruption and nepotism in our country, one will easily give up on the chances of getting a better life, our youths are only actively carried along by our leaders only during elections, after the elections they are no where to be found, most youths have resulted to different criminal activities in a quest to earn a living, most have met their untimely death in the process,

But here comes technology, with technology most youths now have a source of income online, in areas of content creation, forex trading, Bitcoin investment, affiliate marketing, and so on, you even have to work from home and earn well on a weekly bases, most youths have become millionaires from this, and good number of youths are still waiting for the white collar jobs, which I don't think will be available for them anytime soon looking at the economic and commercial situations of our dear country,

most of these youths have android phones, laptops but don't know how to make money with it, I remember some years ago after I actually subscribed my phone I sat and I wondered What I was using the previous subscriptions to do, because I was spending on subscriptions without making money from it, from that day I advised myself and the rest was history,

Technology is a lasting solution to unemployment in Nigeria so as youths we should take full advantage of it, bcos most of these jobs online pays in dollars, and the best thing that can happen to you now in this country in this present economic crises is earning in dollars, I know all of us here have taken advantage of this technology, but we still have younger siblings, relatives, friends and colleagues that have not taken advantage of this, let's try to blend them into this technological advancements, instead of giving them the fish, show them how to fish.
This system of government it’s not trying at all, there are not making the environment not productive for the masses,if the government which its aim is the manage the affair of the state and it’s economy it’s not functioning well, how do you expect the masses to function well toward them also.
30  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nigerian System of Education on: April 04, 2024, 08:47:25 PM
Our system of Education is something else, starting from the primary system to the tertiary system. That of the the tertiary system their varieties of challenges it undergoes, for instance

* Over Population
* Outdated Curricula
* Lack of qualified faculty and equipment for studies
* Lectures Accepting Bribe (Sorting)

Talking about the over-population, the school authorities are no longer interested in the conduciveness of a class room, or has a limited set of person that is meant to be admitted in a department to ensure conducive learning, they admit to the extent that students now sit on the floor or outside the class room to take lectures due to lack of space.

Outdated Curricula. On this particular note, Nigerian universities are still making use of outdated curriculum to lecture their students, how do these universities curriculum prepare her students for the modern work force. Using my school as a case study, just imagine learning FORTRAN in this modern time, when other countries are leaning advance computer programming options

Lack of Qualified Faculty and Equipment for studies
Nigerian system of learning lack major equipment for learning, after being in the school environment for as much as your programme requires, then coming out to the public and you have nothing to offer due lack of necessary equipment for studies and conditions the students are being placed under.

Sorting in Nigerian Universities are now seen as a normalcy,
Lecturers in these universities are now adding to back logging of the educational system. Just imagine a student going for a job interview and is being asked questions related to his or her field of study and they can't come out with something tangible due to the corrupt process they've passed through.
Omo when it comes to Nigeria the government at-all are not helping matters towards enhancement or development of the educational system for example take look as the asuu in the universities which always go on strike of bad funding and mismanagement of fund which allow student who’s supposed to be a graduate in 4 years becoming a graduate in 7 years due to strike in the university because of poor and bad system, which we need a check and balance in the system.

34  Other / Meta / Re: Adjustments to Merit calculation on: April 01, 2024, 08:50:03 PM
In recent years, it seems that a lot of people have been making low-value posts just to get paid. To address this, I've added a merit "cost" to posting: from this point forward, for every 15 characters you post, you will lose one Merit point. This should eliminate any incentive to make low-value posts.

Any halfway-decent poster should be able to earn much more merit than they lose due to the penalty. But I recognize that some good posts are occasionally overlooked. So to counterbalance the penalty, I also added a system whereby you will earn a bit of merit just by reading posts. If you want to write a lot, you'd better do some reading as well!

For both the penalty and the bonus, this applies only to your merit score, and does not affect sendable merit (sMerit).

Let me know what you think of these adjustments.
lol this just made my day seeing, even though after all the stress but quiet funny 😄
35  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The importance of taking Beer ( Alcohol) in moderation on: March 31, 2024, 03:29:49 PM
The rate at which young people dey get diabetis and hypertension these days is alarming.
The rate at wish young boys dey consume beer with no moderation is increasing everyday. Some go take five to ten bottle of beers dey call am enjoyment. That kind life no be enjoyment. You dey only destroy your body system.
Excess consumption of alcohol fit cause diabetes.

E get wetin dey regulate our sugar intake , them dey call am INSULIN. When you take too much beer, e go make the insulin no dey work well again, this will then cause increase blood sugar level. Excess beer dey destroy won organ for our body wey them dey call Pancreas. This pancreas  dey produce Insulin wey dey regulate sugar as I mentioned earlier. Imagine say that organ is destroyed, that's the worst type of diabetes

Do you also know that excess beer consumption  dey cause Obesity which is a risk factor for diabetes?
Diabetes is also link with hypertension, e mean say person wey his or her sugar level dey high fit get hypertension too which is dangerous to you heart, if e affect heart, na Cardiac arrest, if e affect kidney, na kidney failure and if e affect  brain, na stroke be that.

Some young guys now dey complain say their manhood no dey stand well( Poor Erection) some of them na due to excess sugar for body. So if you get this kind issue and you know say you dey drink alcohol well well, go check your sugar level.

Diabetes no get cure, you can only manage it with life style changes till you go old die.
I say make I bring this thread here because I get person wey get this diabetes for young age and I know wetin the person they pass through.

Please drink in moderation if you choose to drink, and do not make it a daily lifestyle
I hope this message help someone here.
Omo for me I don’t really see much important of alcohol sha ,but for me alcohol can bring about social  lubricants , economic contribution and cultural significance in the society.
36  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Investing or trading with emotions on: March 31, 2024, 03:25:25 PM
It is important for a beginner not to invest or trade with emotions and at a time that you're experiencing losses you just have to know that you didn't follow some important rules that stand as tools needed for investment.

Tools like knowing when the right signal comes up for one to start trading and these signal must be noted despite how the market might turn out to be. So in trading, it is advisable to remove whatever that will make you to be emotional by following the rules of the system.

You don't need to be too anxious of anyone who offers to give you ideas on how you can make profits while trading as if it was that easy i believe they will rather prefer sharing those ideas with their close ones. Although some of their ideas do work but its dependent on how focused they are in following the exact rules that will enable the system to work.

Instead of paying someone that claims they know about how the system works its rather you use that money and start investing then follow the rules and basic techniques that the system requires that's sure the right way to go.

I know that almost everyone goal is centered at making huge amount of money in trading but that shouldn't be your most priority yet as you need to know the things that are more important in trading as quick as possible because if you ain't able to identify how the market is going on time then you might likely lose out at a time when the market would have been favourable to you.

And again do not allow your attention to be divided while trading and at a time when you are looking for the best time to invest you should be able to identify the wrong signals from the right ones.

Just like wetin I talk for the other side naim I carry come here make una reason together.
You know when engaging in the crypto trading over trading is bad, impulsive decisions, lack of rationality, stress and anxiety can cause a lot of issues in crypto trading and more
37  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Make una dey careful when trading on: March 31, 2024, 03:17:29 PM
I greet everyone I know many of us wey dey here suppose don get better understanding about crypto-currency and even how to trade on binance but I still believe that this forum is growing and there are still many newbies coming in.
so to go straight to the point my friend who is a bit new to crypto-currency was telling me about here experience sell her Bitcoin a popular exchange she has already understood some of the basic on how to sell but this Time while selling the buyer asked for here number which she gave and then chatted her demanding that they trade outside the exchange, and even offered a higher deal than the exchange. this is a big red flag because you a vulnerable to getting scammed if you are trading with someone you don't know off the exchange no matter how juicy the offer is.
This is a very interesting question to ask because in the trading crypto currency market are very volatile in nature, lack of regulation, security issues, lack of understanding and market Manipulation can result to a lot.so before engaging in the trading you need to understand the basic fundamentals.
