21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter hackers pleads guilty and agree to a 3 year in prison on: March 19, 2021, 12:41:40 PM
I'm pretty sure that the Twitter hack is still fresh in our memory, this is high profile because it involves a lot of crypto exchanges like, @coinbase, @Gemini, and @binance and then celebrities, @JeffBezos, @BarackObama, @elon_musk, @JoeBiden, @BillGates, and @WarrenBuffett.

And Graham Ivan Clark was charge last year and now agreed on Tuesday to be sentenced as a youthful offender to three years in prison, + three years of probation.

Here are the official docs: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/20515610-plea-agreement-acknowledgment-of-waiver-of-rights-bc-6f018852-673e-4df1-85da-4c5629856265

https://www.sao13th.com/2021/03/prosecutors-reach-plea-agreement-in-case-of-twitter-hacker-graham-clark/ (please note that access might be block for some region due to security reasons).

What are your thoughts of the sentencing? he has served seven months already of the three years sentenced on him.

Bad timing Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

After all the hacked accounts and stunts, they managed to get a total of under $200k.

Just check how many idiots bit on the latest 'Tesla x10' giveaway...
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk name once again used to fool people by hackers! on: March 18, 2021, 09:14:00 PM

I read the article in BBC and immediately recalled Einstein's words about stupidity:

Two Things Are Infinite: the Universe and Human Stupidity

I don't know how people having $500k+ in assets fall for this sh**t. How they even made that money if they are so stupid and naïve that they will get x10 from the air?!
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion About Future of Bitcoin Scalability on: March 17, 2021, 10:50:40 PM
...
What do you think about it?

I don't expect Bitcoin ever to be used for microtransactions. Even if LN is working, even if devs come out with a better solution, all the big players and institutional investors will be against Bitcoin to come to a coffee-coin than 'a store of wealth/digital gold'.

There are other blockchains and crypto for this: TRC-20 Stable coins, Solana, Avalance, etc.
24  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance is being investigated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on: March 14, 2021, 12:50:18 AM
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-12/crypto-exchange-binance-investigated-by-u-s-over-who-s-trading

Same accusation that Bitmex had few months ago - allowing US citizens to trade derivates ... Damn. How about US will hunt and punish their citizens for trading instead of hunting exchanges for not filtering US citizens well enough ... Ridiculous.
CZ comment:
"It’s not a bull market without some FUD.

Ignore FUD, keep BUIDLing."

I hope that even if some allegations pop-ups against CZ, Binance will stay stable as it was BitMex during Arthur Hayes, Benjamin Delo, and Samuel Reed arrests.

CZ is right, CFTC /SEC/All the abbreviations are doing everything possible to bring us bad news, but we will keep BUIDing!
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: First Batch of $1,400 Stimulus Checks Hit Bank Accounts Starting Today on: March 13, 2021, 11:58:55 PM
Here's another source --> https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/banks-processing-stimulus-checks

Could this be another reason why we see bitcoin hit another all time high? those times when the news about stimulus came, there was an increase that happened for bitcoin.

I don't think this is the reason behind the new ATH.

The U.S. is printing dollars daily. Another trillion or two doesn't have a lot of difference.

I think the reason is the constant flow of institutional investors. I read about at least three new public companies investing in Bitcoin in the past two days.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people care who Satoshi is/was? on: March 11, 2021, 10:58:56 PM
Besides basic curiosity who's the brilliant mind behind the Bitcoin creation, I don't. I guess most people don't care so much too.

But mysteries always attracts a certain type of people Cheesy

27  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where you guys think is the best place to buy Bitcoins using Debit, Credit card on: March 11, 2021, 10:26:25 PM
I am created this topic just to discuss about which platform or website that providing the best service in your opinion so other can know and have a choice or at least we will have other option. Grin
In my opion BitStamps is the best and fastest platform to buy bitcoins and then Coins Base, how about you?  Huh

I never had any problems buying with CC/Debit Visa both in Binance and CoinMama. I don't trust CoinBase because of the upcoming IPO and regulation requirements.

Keep in mind that you will have to pass KYC wherever you decide to you a card to buy crypto.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the US Government is the 9th Largest BTC Holder, BCH, BSV on: March 10, 2021, 05:53:17 PM
Hey guys,

What do you guys think of the US Government Owning so much Crypto that it "got for free", those wallets are controlled by DOJ.

BTC: bc1qa5wkgaew2dkv56kfvj49j0av5nml45x9ek9hz6 ~= $3,755,714,388.06
BCH: qqrkjml7h3ymnc7ydd9m5r9s9hnqectmluwpxezd9a ~= $37,317,659.98
BSV: 1F884r9J2WKbu8wekebqqRcu1Bw1jiRXba ~= $12,932,669.07

And when they auction off these sums do you think the price of BTC will drop a lot or not?
Plus what do you think about how the government can just come in and take your Bitcoins for any reason.

Would love to hear your opinion on this matter.

The U.S. Government is operating on a different scale. These $3.8bn will last around 4 hours of their spending[1].

These are seized coins that sooner or later will go to a public auction.
The price will not drop as DOJ is usually auctioning on a small scale. There were many auctions in the past without moving the price.

29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can government shutdown Bitcoin on: March 10, 2021, 04:53:59 PM
Technically it is not possible for a government to shut down bitcoin in any. They can disturb the network by forcefully taking over the mining operations and fill their own coffers. But a complete shutdown isn't possible by any government.

Government can legally ban bitcoin in their own country. They can strictly enforce the ban using various enforcement agencies so thay people don't use bitcoin out of fear. So again they can't shut down bitcoin. That's how the nature of decentralized network is!

Actually, they can shut it down technically by tracking all pools' IPs (as nobody is mining as a standalone miner), IPs of all nodes, etc. and block them.
DDoS pools, seize pools' domain names, block miners' ports  + much other nasty stuff.

Is it worth it is another call.

...

Yes, and now the price of this token is dumping continuously (although BTC pump now)  Cry I'm thinking about cutting loss immediately or waiting more times...

There is no point in waiting.

BTC has recovered to $53k, yet AME is dumping even right now, to 0.07.

The team is absent, and the Telegram group is full of sheeple - to the Moon, to Upbit, to Binance - that will never happen.
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2021 top and end of year predictions on: March 07, 2021, 02:41:58 PM
Hi,

I was interested to know what you think Bitcoin will peak at this year and what you think the price will be at the end of each year up until 2025

Here's what I think could be a fair estimate:

2021 peak: $95,000

EOY 2021: $65,000
EOY 2022: $100,000
EOY 2023: $150,000
EOY 2024: $300,000
EOY 2025: $500,000

Maybe you will say that I am too much optimistic, but I think there is a very good chance that this year ATH will be set at around $200k
The bull run will end at the beginning of next year and we will have 2 years of bear market, i.e. a repeat of the situation from 2018.

Maybe he's too optimistic for 2023 onward, but I believe that EYO 2021 Bitcoin will be $100,000+ with news like this:

Every Bank and Tech Company Is Moving In Crypto, Mike Novogratz Says, As Billionaire Ron Baron Dumps TSLA
https://coinmarketcap.com/headlines/news/every-bank-and-tech-company-is-moving-in-crypto-mike-novogratz-says-as-billionaire-ron-baron-dumps/

Only the SEC and total US Corporate crypto ban could stop the 6-figure Bitcoin.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guy using bitcoin to cover his tracks while running from the authority on: March 07, 2021, 02:07:50 PM

I understood from the video that this is some psycho that cannot accept a custody dispute. And Bitcoin was briefly mentioned just once.

You could use anything for good or bad - knives, Bitcoin, prepaid cards, even food (poisoning).

Anyway, I hope that the FBI will catch him soon and free the girl.

Thank you.

The AME community is yelling all day long: to Binance, to Moon, to blah blah.

They cannot understand that neither Binance nor any other reputable exchange will accept a project with so many problems like scamming on the bounty, scamming on the unstaking, muting people, etc.

So I'm glad that I skip on AME as the only direction for AME is 6ft under.
34  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not "COVID" vaccine passports on a blockchain ID on: March 07, 2021, 09:20:36 AM
it would be a safe, secured, difficult to tamper and widely available method of travelling and proving that an individual has had a vaccine. No borders, no language, no need to carry papers around. just you bio linked a a recognised signature and you are good to fly. Perhaps this looks too futuristic, but the technology is already there and could be a great testing ground.

Because this will cut the black market and the black market will be very actual in some regions globally (including my own country).

People always want to have access 'to another way' which is blocked by the blockchain, especially for controversies like mass vaccination.
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much lower you think BTC can go in this drop ? on: March 06, 2021, 08:27:58 PM
Hi Guys i would like some opinions, in this drop how low can btc go before it starts going up again , any idea what is the resistance or what could the bottom floor be for it ? I was hoping around 40-42k but it seems that it does not want to go below 47k , what do you think ? Thank you

I don't see Bitcoin under $40k anytime soon without any major bad news.

Every second mainstream media now is talking about Bitcoin and crypto, so every day more people are buying and joining the community.
36  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: March 06, 2021, 02:26:48 PM
How would you define what is to be "rich"? Is it about having enough for living or is there something else that you would be looking to accomplish to be rich?
Is it 1 million USD? Is it 1000 bitcoin? what are your thoughts?

I think more of what I define as a wealthy person, not rich.

For me, a person is wealthy enough when they have enough cashflow not to think and lose time on small daily non-senses like rent/mortgage, food, etc. and focus on growth.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where does Elon and Saylor store their bitcoins? on: March 06, 2021, 02:16:49 PM
After all the hype, does anyone have information on this? I reckon blockchain analytics should follow those coins of the new VIP of the bitcoin community and follow the movement of their coins.

My guess is as public companies, they have to follow particular standards and use specialized custody companies like

Coinbase Custody

https://custody.coinbase.com/

They cannot just use a hardware/paper wallet like us Cheesy
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [IEO] ⚡AMEPAY- Crypto ⇌ Retail. IEO in BKEX + Listing in Bithumb Global 🔥 on: March 06, 2021, 12:50:16 PM
Anyway, there is no any new message from manager in bounty telegram chat about distribution. Except the last one, in which he wrote that he had banned some users, and promissed that payments would be done.
There is currently no clarity. The bounty manager does not provide certainty when there will be payment. they just keep making excuses. In the past, there was a transaction fee and now the Team is busy. This reason shows how the integrity of Amepay is utterly bad and is not competent for what they have promised regarding the campaign.

Unreasonable, looking for excuses after reasons to make people believe again but I wonder how long it will be? How long can they afford to find new excuses that keep popping up in their minds.

Not long.

It looks like AME is now on the exit-scam phase. People lost patience and faith in the project.

People are dumping coins (3mn+) in the past 2 hours and the price dropped 20%.

The team is constantly 'very busy', AME is not paying the bounty, banning people who raise a voice, errors on staking, and so on:

It is a pity that such a promising project uses forceful solutions to silence the community instead of trying to get along.
I don't know if it's a bounty manager's inexperience or deliberate behavior, but that's definitely not the way such situations should be solved.
I think someone from the AMEPAY dev team should speak up about it, make an official statement and calm the situation down. Otherwise, both sides are bound to suffer.

Totally agree with you.

I didn't participate in the bounty program, but I was planning to buy and hold AME.

But after I saw how they treat their community, I decided that AME doesn't deserve my money. People shouldn't be silenced like that.

39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first response to satoshi's Bitcoin whitepaper on: March 05, 2021, 09:05:23 PM
He was right, Bitcoin "does not seem to scale to the required size."

Luckily for all of us, people decide to use it as value heaven than everyday transactions and now we have a 50 000 USD Bitcoin.

Satoshi Nakamoto and the rest were true innovators and now there are other coins for everyday usage.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The cost of the world's financial systems on: March 05, 2021, 02:51:50 PM
Everybody is counting the mining electricity and the carbon footprint.

But what about all the banks?!

The global bank industry has tens of millions of people just for front office convenience. What about their carbon footprint? Going to work, heating, electricity .

And then the bank's mainframes and networks, etc.

I think that those banks have x10 the global carbon footprint than all cryptocurrencies!
