The problem with all CPU coins is they're heavily ridden by botnets. As soon as a coin has a better price/difficulty compared to another coin the botnet just switches the coin or algorithm instantly. Thousands of computers can switch over to a coin and pummel it quickly.

CPU mining is dominated by botnets so just move on to GPU or give up.

Today I saw a black kid wearing a shirt with the lovely idols of Trayvon and Michael Brown and below it said the word "Hope".
So instead of putting 2 successful intellectual blacks on his shirt (which that kid wouldn't be able to name one most likely) he choose to idolize 2 people that are less than stellar citizens whose only notoriety is how they died. If black people aspire to stay out of trouble more than they aspire to become successful then I see no "hope" for them - talking as a generality.

re/posting my issue here per Claymore's suggestion: I often see the following message:

No new jobs were received for 20 mins - something wrong with this pool, disconnect.

I also don't see expected rewards from the pool, so I suspect the 20 min periods of no hashing are contributing to the issue. Anyone experience this before? any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Make sure that you don't use proxy, this is the most probable reason. When miner is connected to a pool directly it checks connection (since v9.1), but it cannot do it when proxy is used. If you don't use proxy - it must be pool issue. no proxy being used here. I've seen your message, let us investigate. I am now seeing this message continuously every 25 minutes or so. My hashrate on the website varies between 5 and 9KH/s but on my end I am putting out about 9KH/s - so there's definitely a problem. I'm making less than I did last month even though the network speed has dropped from 18MH/s to about 12. Something is wrong with the pool  |
