Thanks for all the suggestions

Future auctions will be clear and concise to prevent any miscommunication or dubious practices.

I still have not received an answer from the "owner"....  Maybe they will post here and clear this up.

-MJ

I would also like the "owner" to clear this up and explain how he can sell a coin he does not own, not to mention a justification of the huge markup, seams a bit unethical to me.
I hope the seller is not someone I have in on my trust list...
202  Other / Archival / Re: . on: July 10, 2017, 08:38:39 AM
@MJ I have a small suggestion; in the future I suggest that you are more open about when you auction an item on commission. Obviously selling an item for another person is perfectly ok, just be transparent.

If I was bidding (based on the text in OP) then would I expect you to have the coin in hand and ready to ship after payment.
In this case was the coin not even in possession of your client, which is a problem.
In my opinion, this does matter a great deal when trading with high value items, since there is a decent amount of risk involved in shipping/handling.
For me is there a big different getting the coin directly from you compared to a 3rd party I do not know.

You have a well respected distribution service, so just be open about the sourcing, then is all cool.

Cheers Smiley
203  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Cas Gilt Silver MS 69 plus Several Casascius Brass ANACS MS67 on: July 07, 2017, 09:15:36 AM
Added Cas Gilt Silver ANACS MS69 - Nice clean coin in a high grade.

Hmmm convince me why I should buy your MS69 gilt for 2.5btc instead of realeddie's ungraded gilt for 2.9btc?  Wink

Yeah, even back in the days with huge demands of the ungraded gilts, they rarely went for more than 2.5. So 2.5 for a MS69 is not too bad.

... and a shout-out for lesbian cow - she is a great person to trade with! MUUH!

I just want to compliment your work.
I have little knowledge about art, but I know what I personally think looks good,
and I think your work looks good.

Good luck with the sales.

212  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Casascius 2013 0.5 BTC Brass on: June 12, 2017, 09:00:34 AM

If you want to have a hidden reserve, then is this method the best in imo:
Publish a sha256 hash of the hidden reserve (+ salt) in the beginning of auction.
At the end of the auction then do you reveal your hidden reserve (+salt) and everybody can see
that it matches the hash published in the beginning.

It's a good idea, but the hash can be decrypted at the beginning of the auction, so the reserve price is no longer secret.

Nope, it would be impossible to decrypt (if you add a salt). I will send you a PM how to do it, so we will not derail your auction.
Good luck to everyone, this is a wonderful coin.

Woudn't it suffice to post the signature part of his reserve as signed message?

The signature part of a signed message is also a hash, so it will be exactly the same as suggested. "My" method is just easier since you can do it with any online sha256 sum calculator.

I am real sorry Xprim777 to turn your auction into a hash discussion - but at least you get a free bump  Grin

Good luck to everyone bidding on this wonderful coin.

It's too bad that the coins were made by a scammer. Good luck with the auction.

Lauda... that is a pretty shitty comment to make in a live auction.
I am really disappointed with you.

Please make your own thread if you want to start a new discussion of CI.
