201  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: disallowing RBF (replace-by-fee) on: December 27, 2023, 10:50:33 AM
the latest electrum version dont allow user disabling RBF.
I don't remember when Electrum makes RBF as their wallet default setting for user but it is their right decision and very helpful for Electrum users especially newbies who broadcast their first Bitcoin transactions through Electrum wallet.

They will even not know about RBF but with this default opt-in RBF, they will be able to bump fee (increase fee) later if they need to use RBF.

It's not wise to allow users to turn it on and off because newbies probably mistakenly turn it off.
202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What will be your trading strategy for crypto in 2024? on: December 27, 2023, 04:49:41 AM
A lot of people have been asking me this question, so I thought I'd ask you guys the same. My plan is to diversify across promising projects, optimize with rebalancing, and keep a level head throughout the ride.
Next year will be a bull market and it will be very hot. You will have many chances to get profit in a big bull run, not mini one.

My recommendation for 2024 is holding your coins, Bitcoin and altcoins if you have them.

Don't trade your coins because you will miss great growth of cryptocurrency market.
Don't stake, farm your coins because you will not know those platforms, pools are safe, will they be hacked or not.

Hold your coins in your non custodial wallets, have good back ups.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 27, 2023, 04:46:23 AM
Man United's rise in the second half actually reminded me a bit of Man United's performance last season, which also always rose in the second half of the match. I don't know if it's just a coincidence or not. But Man United did this quite often last season. Now I'm starting to think that maybe Man United will make comebacks like this more often from now on. Erik Ten Heh must be able to maintain the performance that Man United showed in the second half. And don't let Man United make mistakes and play badly like in the first half.
It is like Manchester United in the past season and also similar to Arsenal in the last season. We talked too much about come backs of Arsenal even they got one or two conceded goals first and said like it is a power of deserved champion of the league.

Later Arsenal failed to repeat such come backs and they lost Premier League title to Manchester City. I see come backs are great and very exciting but as a team, they must tighten their defense system and avoid as less as possible matches when they have to chase opponents and hunt for equalizer then winning goal. It is never easy to make a come back especially if you get two conceded goals first.

Isn't this a normal condition when a surprise comes for a small team at the bottom of the standings and Burnley victory at that time was lucky because Fulham made a mistake and surprises won't come twice like today which was defeated by Liverpool and this is a natural incident because Burnley the team that is in bottom of the standings without having strong performance while Liverpoo has much stronger performance than Burnley.
Burnley failed to have a point from Liverpool but they succeeded to maintain only one conceded goal and keep up their hope to have a point until very last minutes when Diogo Jota finalized the match for Liverpool.

This defeat is predictable for Burnley because Liverpool are simply very stronger than Burnley and they also have very good form recent weeks.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 27, 2023, 03:50:13 AM
Pretty sure no one would have expected the final score to be like that, because it can be said that Manchester United always fail when they are behind, especially since they are already two goals behind and usually their performance will get worse, but this comeback was quite encouraging and Hojlund's first goal for Manchester United was in the English Premier League is raising hopes that there will be an improvement in their performance in the next match
It is pretty unexpected that Manchester United easily got two conceded goals in just a first half of the match which was considered as not a too difficult match for them. They faced with a loss but they came back and not only find a point but got three points at the end. It's an emotional match for Manchester United and three points are important for them.

But they must see their weakness in the match that is also their weakness in general of this season, improve it and move on to be a stronger squad. It is impossible to make come back in all matches and they must tighten their defense to avoid easy conceded goals like this.

Three points achieving make Manchester United keep close with top fourth standings position, remaining five points behind Tottenham Hotspur has one match left but not close the opportunity for United move to the top standings if can play well and keep consistent for achieving three points on every match.
5 points in difference with Totenham Hotspur now and even can be expanded to 8 points if Tottenham win their upcoming match, is not a close gap. I don't see Manchester United are already close to top four, they are far from it actually. This winning is good for them and they must continue to win in next matches. Chance for them to move more closely to top four still exists.
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 26, 2023, 02:54:39 PM
Juventus really have to improve their quality this season because yes, Juventus are still not completely good so far this season. But ya, at least there is still a second half of the season then of course, Juventus still has the time and opportunity to be able to improve the quality and performance of course to be even better. Maybe, in the transfer market there will also be new players or maybe also players who leave and yes, it is hoped that Juventus will make the right choice.
Juventus are not as strong as they were in previous seasons before they lost Scudetto to Inter Milan, AC Milan and Napoli. They dominated Serie A in like 9 seasons before losing it to those three latest champions. They even fell out of top four in the last season and it will be a mandatory target for them in this season. Complete this season in top four is a first mandatory target and a bigger one is winning Scudetto.

They don't actually improve their quality too much with nearly same players but in this season, they don't have 10-point deduction like the past season and they will be able to fairly compete with Inter Milan, not like the past season.

Quote
Because after all, basically Juventus is still unable to compete with Inter and at least, Juventus is still quite lucky because other top teams such as Milan, Napoli and also AS Roma are not in a better trend than Juventus this moment. Therefore, currently Juventus is still quite lucky because Juventus is still safe in second place in the current Serie A standings.
Juventus are stronger than AS Roma and they need to beat AS Roma even it will be a very tight might for them. AS Roma with Jose Mourinho and his focus on defense won't be easily beaten.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Accomplished What Brought You to Bitcoin? on: December 26, 2023, 02:00:52 PM
bitcoin has helped me a lot to solve many of my issues effectively.
If newbies read your story, they will think Bitcoin is like a magic stick for them.

Bitcoin is Bitcoin, it is there, for all but it is in a zero sum game and it's not easy to be winners and it is more easily to be losers. To become winners, people must know how to hold their bitcoins and wait for bull run to take profit. They must know to store their bitcoin in non custodial wallets, not on centralized exchanges.

They must avoid trading because when they join trading, they will use leverages and futures. If they only trade with Spot, they can enter, exit and chase small profit but will lose a big bull run because Bitcoin when runs, will run very fast and they will have to buy up the higher price, then get less bitcoins.
207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone can succeed as a bitcoin trader on: December 26, 2023, 01:55:15 PM
Many persons have shared their bad experiences about trading in general, how they lost their funds, got into debt, even wrecked their finances.
It is good for newbies if they read stories about loss with trading, risk of trading because very few people will share their painful stories.

If newbies see successful stories in trading, they will be more easily to be fooled. People with their instinct are very greedy so their mind will be less sharp if they read stories of easy money gain.

People can succeed in trading but chance is small and it is proven by many studies and statistics.

208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don’t think bitcoin is now decentralized on: December 22, 2023, 11:41:00 PM
About 20+ days ago ,I sent a transaction with 5000sats fee.

20+ !

It hasn’t been confirmed yet!

Ok to pay more ,confirmed faster.

But isn’t it ok for pay less confirm slower?

The miners are too centralized, and a lot of dust trans was made every day.

From A to A with high fee rate! Why does this transaction exist?

I don’t think a normal man would make such a nonsense transaction.
Bitcoin miners always choose transactions from tip of mempools to confirm if it is not their own transactions. It is very basic algorithm from miners and from any business. Don't blame it on miners.

Blame it on people who are ready to pay very high transaction fees for useless things like Inscriptions and can afford to lose money for transaction fees because of Ordinals and even lose bigger if those inscriptions turn to zero in value.

Bitcoin developers from their technical side must think of solution to resolve this issue but users have their responsibility too.

Decentralized? Yes Bitcoin network is still decentralized.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing its P2P efficiency!! on: December 22, 2023, 11:36:02 PM
Bitcoin transaction fee is expensive now but you can wait and if you can wait, you will have cheaper fee to use it.

Ordinals won't last forever because you will not continue to spend money for Ordinals forever when they no longer have chance or see chance to get quick and easy money from useless inscriptions.

Bitcoin blockchain is always a biggest and safest blockchain to use.

Altcoin blockhains can be hacked, Layer 2 infrastructures can be hacked, bridges can be hacked but did anyone hack Bitcoin blockchain?

How many confirmations of altcoins are enough compares to 6 confirmations of Bitcoin blockchain?
How many Bitcoin confirmations is enough?
210  Economy / Speculation / Re: A big buying opportunity might be on the horizon on: December 21, 2023, 02:03:22 PM
So what if Bitcoin ETF will not be approved this time? That does not mean that it will stop bitcoin from reaching its new all time high. However, the time to get there might be a little bit extended due to Bitcoin ETF failure but no worries, patience is the key.
Bitcoin Spot EFT applications failed in many years but Bitcoin actually had bull runs with past halvings. There will be a Bitcoin bull run after 2024 halving and Bitcoin Spot ETF failed applications won't stop a coming Bitcoin bull run.

When SEC. announces it, the market will get a big shock and Bitcoin price will crash but it will recover later and bull run we go. Be prepare with your cash, stable coins to buy with any Bitcoin crash because of SEC. decision to reject all Bitcoin Spot ETF applications.

Quote
Now, if Bitcoin ETF will be denied, that will eventually create an immediate effect on its price, and definitely newly investors will love it because it opens new opportunity for them to enter the market. With how bitcoin halving is fast approaching, majority of the long term hodlers are looking forward into it, leaving bitcoin ETF failure not a big issue anymore.
Corrections must come some time and if there is such denial from SEC. the market will be given a great reason to be corrected after many months of continuous bullish.

If you are unsure, don't sell your bitcoin because if SEC. approve those applications, Bitcoin will surely soar like Xi-pump from China years ago in 2019.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: December 21, 2023, 11:29:44 AM
Many Bitcoiners including me have been calling Ordinals an attack for nearly a year now and I have to say the fact that part of the Bitcoin community needed the fees to go up first before they could see Ordinals as it really is shows the community has still not reached complete maturity and I dare say some of them have not yet understood what bitcoin is.
Your concern is valid and very insightful and Bitcoin community need more insightful people like you.

Things started four years ago with Taproot upgrade. I used to believe Taproot is something cool and helpful for Bitcoin users but the fact is opposite and it has been shown clearly in 2023.

Taproot is coming: What is it and how it will benefit Bitcoin?

I did not realize sooner that deploying smart contracts on Bitcoin blockchain will bring more issues for Bitcoin mempools and will seriously affect Bitcoin users.

Quote
A mature community would have been this concerned a year ago when the attack began by exploiting the protocol and when the attackers abused bitcoin blockchain by turning it into a cloud storage; not when fees went up and it started affecting them individually.
The problem now is diagnosed and one solution was proposed by LukeDashjr and Jack Dorsey but it was not supported massively because it will break one of strongest strength of Bitcoin blockchain: censorship-resistance.
212  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance withdrawal fees are too high, what do I do? on: December 21, 2023, 08:06:10 AM
Currently, the withdrawal fee are 0.0008 btc, which is too high. What sould I do?
If you can not afford to pay the expensive withdrawal fee, you only can wait for Bitcoin mempools to become clearer and Ordinals FOMO wave to calm down. You have to hope it will happen soon and centralized exchanges like Binance will edit their withdrawal fee cheaper.

Quote
I can't leave my btc on Binance, feeling kind of unsafe
I don't advice you to leave bitcoins on centralized exchanges because it is not a safe way.
Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts

You can find alternatives like selling your bitcoin, buy Litecoin and withdraw it to your Litecoin wallet. Wait for chance to buy Bitcoin again. I believe withdrawal fee on Litecoin is cheaper than Bitcoin and even you will have to spend LTC for one on-chain transaction as a deposit to Binance later, to sell LTC and buy BTC, it will still be cheaper than withdrawal fee on Binance now.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin miners extorting people that are making transaction? on: December 21, 2023, 07:52:10 AM
I can defend almost everything people are talking about bitcoin before but I was unable to say anything today. We can say it is not really caused by miners but bitcoin developers which have been unable to make bitcoin mempool not to be too much congested.
Bitcoin developers do their programming work, community, nodes vote to agree upgrades or disagree. Users are free with what they do like when broadcast transactions, choose fee rates to use and more like joining Ordinals minting or ignore those useless activities which are harmful for Bitcoin blockchain and mempools.

Bitcoin project and this blockchain are decentralized so Bitcoin developers are not responsible for all things are happening.

LukeDashjr and his opinion on Bitcoin Core
Quote
Bitcoin Core has, since 2013, allowed users to set a limit on the size of extra data in transactions they relay or mine (`-datacarriersize`). By obfuscating their data as program code, Inscriptions bypass this limit.

It is not enough to believe the person behind that email is Satoshi Nakamoto.

Many accounts of Satoshi Nakamoto can be hacked and to prove the person is /are Satoshi Nakamoto, signing a message with PGP key is a condition.
Do you think "satoshi" will ever just randomly log in one day and post something?

His account is locked, so no. If he wants to claim his account, he'll have to contact me with a PGP signature.

216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So how does this ordinals minting work exactly? on: December 20, 2023, 10:02:44 AM
Checking the block explorer and I see people paying crazy amounts to mint their ordinals. Like one guy paid $500 and he minted 10000 amount of ORDI.

Right now ORDI is $50. So he got $500,000 worth of ORDI just for spending $500 in mining fees? It can’t be right.
This hype from ORDI and how news spread that people got big money from easily minting BRC20 create a new trend. Mining xxx20 tokens, inscriptions on altcoin blockchains and I believe many people will lose their money with those useless inscriptions on altcoin blockchains.

Even Inscriptions on Bitcoin blockchain, with BRC20, are useless and I have no way to believe inscriptions from altcoin blockchains actually have good value.

I understand it is peanuts one can get from there. But nevertheless.

218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitwise The Year Ahead: 10 Crypto Predictions for 2024 on: December 19, 2023, 02:14:50 PM

The Year Ahead: 10 Crypto Predictions for 2024
A downloadable report link https://s3.amazonaws.com/static.bitwiseinvestments.com/Research/Bitwise-The-Year-Ahead-10-Crypto-Predictions-for-2024.pdf

The ten prediction are:

Quote
Prediction 1 : Bitcoin will trade above $80,000, setting a new all-time high.
Prediction 2 : Spot bitcoin ETFs will be approved, and collectively they will be the most successful ETF launch of all time.
These two predictions are interesting but I believe with this humble prediction 1 for Bitcoin price, $80,000, I believe it can make that new all time high even without Bitcoin Spot ETFs approved.

Prediction 2 is interesting but it is not a mandatory condition for Prediction 1 to become true. From $69,000 (2021 all time high) to $80,000 (a predictive new all time high), it is about 16% increase, not too much with Bitcoin.
219  Economy / Gambling / Re: Joya.Casino| Rewarding Casino| Huge Welcome and VIP Bonus| 20% Weekly CashBack on: December 19, 2023, 02:06:00 PM
Pretty sure the user who posted this announcement is the user who will be managing anything this casino decides to do. I'm not sure their experience, but everyone starts somewhere.
I think the same but I have a different thinking. A project team must create their account and buy a Copper membership to publish their Announcement thread. This account belongs to the project (casino) team and they are completely controlling from posting to updating in their announcement thread.

Relying on a manager or any person who does not belong to internal team of the casino is risky. It will be harder to update the announcement thread in future when a person and the project team no longer work with each other.

Suzane5223 is a manager with this service and pretty sure Suzan5233 will manage any signature campaign from Jojya casino team.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 19, 2023, 02:14:48 AM
Last week, an old friend of mine back then in the university in 2013 who later traveled to Canada to further his studies returned back to the country and yesterday, he coincidentally met my mum at a shopping mall and requested for my contact and my mom gave my number to him so he called and called the nickname that we both normally call ourselves back then in the university days I was so shocked to hear that and I called his original name and he answered and told me he is back from Canada and he requested we meet at a bar immediately.
Many information in this paragraph that is unnecessary.

Quote
i told him that my colleague at work introduced me to a forum called bitcointalk where i registered on the forum and learnt a lot of things concerning Bitcoin and i also showed him the amount of bitcoins i have stored in my wallet so far and he became curious to know about bitcoin and i explained everything i know about bitcoin and encouraged him to join me in buying and holdling bitcoin that we are awaiting the bull market after the halving so he became so furious and told me that since he knew me that I don't normally give attention to anything online (internet) but for me to hodl such huge amount of Bitcoins that it means am really serious about it so he became interested and ask me how he can buy Bitcoin as well so I told him step by step on how to buy Bitcoin and he bought Bitcoins worth $520 that is about 0.012194 btc so he told me that he wish to acquire 1 btc so I told him not to worry that he will use the DCA method to buy same amount of bitcoins at different interval then with time he will surely acquire the 1 btc.

It is not safely to do this because you put yourself at risk. I wish you best if you actually did this risky action but please don't repeat it in future if you don't want to be a victim like those victims.
