Sorry for the outage..... BUT I HAD TO THROW THE SWITCH FOR MERGED MINING.
It's ONLINE and ready for block 19200!

Fair warning... I'd add a backup pool. I'm doing much testing on the merged client and poolserverj. There will be restarts, and even crashes likely.
Thanks for the warning, my backup pool is mineco.in. Indeed, I got booted off of the testing server a little while ago and was automatically pointed to mineco.in. I'm fully aware that this is a test pool and I know not to expect any return while I'm using it. I'm relying on your server logs to find any serious problems but I'll certainly be keeping my eye on my miner for the next few hours anyway. Aside from one of my cards actually running cooler than my CPU everything looks healthy to me right now. It's a live test server. If a block is found, it's counted towards the PPLNS BTC pool.

I've been testing with 74.117.62.208:8337 for a few hours now. The reported hashrates for my workers at simplecoin.us don't seem to have changed. [348.75 Mhash/sec] [1342 Accepted] [0 Rejected] [RPC (+LP)] [369.46 Mhash/sec] [1345 Accepted] [0 Rejected] [RPC (+LP)]
It's too early to say much about the stales but it's certainly looking good (my ping is around 150 ms so 0 rejects in 2700 shares is better than average). I'll leave this running overnight. Fair warning... I'd add a backup pool. I'm doing much testing on the merged client and poolserverj. There will be restarts, and even crashes likely.

getting all sorts of RPC errors for the btc pools.
Edit: it seems to be BTC prop and tbx
GG is still up
The prop server locked up.... but without any alerts. It is back up now. Along with merged mining, I'm also testing poolserverj. So far it is outperforming pushpool, but it is a bit more resource intensive. I'm likely to to switch completely if all goes well. Thanks! are all the pools running on different physical servers? No, there are 2 pool servers currently. 1 for BTC & GG, 1 for TBX and testing (Merged & Solidcoin currently)

Merged Mining is ready Anyone who wants to test it can point to 74.117.62.208:8337. Results will show up in the BTC PPLNS pool for now. Obviously no NMC will be mined yet, but I'd like to see how the new client behaves. If the live test goes well, I'll be switching to the new client for all the BTC pools just before the switch.

The "Last 5 Blocks" table is throwing up BTC as the currency quite a lot.
I wish it were true. I'll look into it. I too. I too. It's fixed. It was getting confused on network block number. So I enforced a currency check. All better.

How do I add my own team?
Make a request, give me a team name, abbreviation and url.
|
|
|
So, how do you intend setworkaux to be used?
|
|
|
Simplecoin.us will offer merged mining.

Stats are a bit off for me. anything going on?
Yep, just cleaning up more dynamic bit size for alt-currencies. Should make readouts more accurate.

Nope, no interest at all. Waiting for SC2 as tenecrapix is taking to long to solo now etc.
So, what you're saying is that a pool would be a good idea since solo takes too long?

I'm implementing Mining Teams. It will be purely aesthetic, but will be prominently displayed.
So, does anyone have a group affiliation they would like to see implemented?
UPDATE: Early team support is now available.

I've been asked about implementing an FBX pool, just curious how much interest there is.

Cool! But, I'm assuming we DO need the NMC client to collect!
When does it go live?
If all you want is the extra profit you can probably do without a Namecoin client and wallet. Simply send namecoins directly from your simplecoin account to an account on an exchange. If you want to collect and keep the namecoins then I'm pretty sure you need the client (and not an old version). Merged mining will go live 37 Namecoin blocks from now (at block 19200 - see the Namecoin block explorer). At the current rate this should take about a week. I don't know when the simplecoin pools will move over to merged mining but I'm hoping it will be pretty soon after 19200. My goal is on block 19200. Assuming I'm awake.

Merged Mining PHP code is finished and online. You may have noticed the NMC currency in the dashboard No! But, I do now! So how would one go about "Merged mining"? Is it automagical? Or do we need yet another miner? It will be automagical. Just mine at one of the 3 BTC pools an it will become merged automagically.
