201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: April 08, 2024, 04:42:44 PM
By the way congratulations to Athletic Bilbao on their Copa del Rey victory. I totally forgot about the game while following big games in the Premier League in the meantime.  Grin

I was expecting Athletic Bilbao to win easier than this honestly. Mallorca made them quite big difficulties as it seems. However I believe Athletic Bilbao really deserved this title anyway. This season they are playing at a much higher level. They are trying to take the last spot for the Champions League from Atletico Madrid in the La Liga on one hand you know. I don't feel like they will be successful on that though but let's see whether they can defeat Simeone in the competition.  Smiley

1-1(Regular)
4-2(penalties)

The Athletic club had a lot of chances to score more goals in this match early on. And also in regular time. So if somehow they were unable to actually win this match it would have been very sad for them. But luckily they were able to win and they were pretty lucky. because honestly, penalties can go either way. It was actually surprising the amount of chances that the athletic club had missed in this match. They had actually scored more than once but those were ruled offside by the VAR. So they have been able to win the Copa Del Rey competition.

Now I think they are going to concentrate on getting ahead of Atlético Madrid and finishing in the fourth position of the table in La Liga.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 08, 2024, 04:00:09 PM

Kolkata's strong batting order failed completely against Chennai's bowlers today. At the end of 17 overs, Kolkata managed to collect only 113 runs. Kolkata lost 6 wickets. Kolkata cannot collect even 160 today.

Every batsman in the squad batted slow today. Chennai's bowlers did not do well in the previous match but today they bowled well. Jadeja picked up three wickets for just 18 runs in 4 overs. Rushar Deshpande picked up two wickets. Mustafiz has not yet taken a single wicket, Mustafiz has given 12 runs in 2 overs. The match is completely under Chennai's control so far. The Kolkata team is likely to suffer their first defeat today.

Having an experienced bowler in the squad is very important. And it reminded me of Mustafiz's performance today. Mustafiz gave only 22 runs in 4 overs. And picked up two wickets. But the important thing is that Mustafiz picked up two wickets with just 2 runs in the last over. If the bowler is not experienced enough, it is not possible to bowl well in the death overs.

Jadeja and Tushar's performance was also very good today. Kolkata's top order crumbled quickly today due to the good bowling of these two bowlers. Both Jadeja and Tushar took three wickets each.

The Kolkata team has given a small target of 138 runs. It is much more difficult to win such a small target. Chennai have some experienced batsmen in their squad. To collect 138 runs will not be difficult for Chennai.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a best way of taking advantage of BTC dips when away? on: April 08, 2024, 12:03:44 PM
And yes, centralized exchanges do collapse from time to time, but the chances of you getting screwed over are very low if you're just setting up offers for a long weekend or something; also take note that I'm pretty sure you're not setting up weekend buy offers with a huge chunk of your net worth.

I am not going to use centralized exchanges to buy Bitcoin. I don't remember using them for such purposes. I always sell using centralized exchanges, and my funds stay there for a few minutes to an hour, sometimes a day max. Even though I use centralized exchanges, I never bought BTC from them because I don't want to hold my crypto on centralized exchanges. Their withdrawal fees are crazy, too.

All of my investments are savings from my signature earnings and salary. Signature campaign payment works like DCA, and I am very much okay with that. I also don't want to rely on the bots because it's a 3rd party program.
In short, you are not buying bitcoin on centralized exchanges because its withdrawal fees are too high for you, but you are still using centralized exchanges to sell bitcoin assets or cryptocurrency to receive fiat currency. You are still relying and relying on centralized exchanges.

I think there are many people like you, they are even secretly using centralized exchanges but always come here to slander centralized exchanges and say that they are not worth using. But in the end, they will still depend on centralized exchanges, we will still use them to a certain extent  Grin Grin.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good bitcoin security starts with strong PC and mobile device security on: April 08, 2024, 11:56:37 AM
The greatest antivirus out there's your common sense, other than that and it's all up to Microsoft's Defender. I seem to notice a lot of people here talking about the best antivirus software out there and other than McAfee and Malwarebytes I can't really vouch for any other else, and I have used a couple of antivirus softwares in my life, including Avast (And I should say, you should NOT download nor even think of using Avast, it's a shit bloatware which will cause you more problems than benefits, trust me), and apart from the ones that I've stated here I wouldn't give you any other antivirus software to depend upon other than the in-built windows antivirus and your common sense. Cause for me the more you depend upon these applications the more neglectful and belligerent you become when surfing the internet and the more unsafe you make yourself against these threats.

So in that regard actually depending on less antivirus is a better thing than downloading every single anti-virus software app on the market just so you would feel safe and secure against bitcoin hackers, which aren't easily deterred by antimalwares and antivirus software anyway.

What about Kaspersky? I think it is also a top choice anti-virus software, but in my opinion, if our computer is only used for basic operations and office work, we do not need to use anti-virus software third party viruses. Microsoft's Defender is more than enough to protect us from most viruses and common attacks.

I use a fairly old and slow computer so I don't want to install too many 3rd party applications. But fortunately so far, I'm still safe from everything online and I think everything is not as scary as we imagine.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is saving screenshots of useful information and BTC transactions? on: April 08, 2024, 11:26:50 AM
I think almost all of us who are connected online have to store their important information and also if he is a crypto currency investor then he has to store the private key of his wallets and various investment stuff sometimes be it screenshot or some times through note pad. I'd say if he stores screenshots of the private key without any privacy then I'd say it's nothing but stupidity. I think it is important to maintain privacy and then store it on screen or notepad.  For this I will tell you to ask your friend to use encryption method to store all this important information.
Saving private information such as the private key or seed phrase through screenshots is not advisable, and even if someone is saving their backups or writing them down, I wouldn't recommend any online services for that. Google Docs can be useful in this regard but in rare cases, they can also be compromised either by hacks, exploits, or scams that you might encounter while you are in the cryptocurrency industry.

I know that a lot of people take a lot of screenshots mostly because they want them as proof if they need it anytime in the future. People who do a lot of P2P trades tend to have this habit very much because they might have to face a lot of scammers and stuff and they can use those screenshots to convince customer service agents that they are being scammed.

If you are against storing private keys/seed phrases and don't want to give any online services then why are you mentioning Google Docs? It is no more secure than any other online storage service and is even riskier when you store seed phrases/private keys on centralized online services.
For me, offline storage is always the only option, although they also have certain limitations but it is definitely easier to control the situation than online.

206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: advice for a beginner on: April 07, 2024, 08:50:13 AM
Hello, I'm a new trader. I started a month ago. I deposited $100, and now I've lost $40. Any advice for me? I watched some YouTube videos and found a technical analysis video which helped a lot. I started not losing as much. Sometimes I even earn. But even though, I feel so lost. Like every day, I see some random coins get boosted. Some people earn from how they know that coin will go up. I'm sorry for my bad English; it's not my first language.
If you are a new trader then I would advise you to avoid trading. Trading is very risky and interesting, trading without experience is most likely to result in loss. If you don't understand market volatility, you won't succeed in trading. There are some trading platform strategies that you must adopt, one of them is to understand the volatility of the market, be patient and don't be too greedy. If you follow all these strategies then I think you will not fail in trading but I can advise you to stop trading for now.
Even if he follows all your advice, there is no guarantee that he will make a profit from trade. Trading has never been easy, and those who always beat their chest and claim that they have enough experience and skills can hardly avoid failure in trading. The best way to avoid failure in trading is to stay away from it completely when you are not ready to lose money. Because trading is very unpredictable and there is no guarantee that you will win even if you are someone with many years of knowledge and experience.
207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why technical analysis is not reliable on: April 07, 2024, 08:34:41 AM
Technical analysis is reliable, I am 100% sure about that because I have been looking at charts for years and you can frequently correctly predict whether charts will go up or down but there are moments when technical analysis can lie to you and that moment happens when there is a dramatic change on the market. When there is a news like China bans Bitcoin mining or Elon Musk's Tesla decided to not accept Bitcoin payments, this kind of news always dramatically affects Bitcoin's price and the predicted price that you built on technical analysis, goes wrong. Also, there are moments when whales sell or buy too many Bitcoins and price goes in an unexpected way.
You have to be always updated if you trade Bitcoins daily. If you aren't updated and solely build your success on technical analysis, you'll fail hard.
Technical analysis is reliable but that doesn't mean we have to trust them completely. In the market there are not only retail investors like us but also market makers, developers, whales, sharks...And people with a lot of money will never want to make money the same way as us, they will find every way to manipulate the market. Furthermore, we can analyze the market, why can't they? And the financial market is no different than a battlefield, if everyone can use fundamental and technical analysis and can see the movement of bitcoin, who will lose? So for me, everything is only relative, used for reference, but cannot completely trust TA or FA.

Have you ever thought: TA and FA are both things that market makers create and want us to use them? And that's the best way to manipulate us?
208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is forex trading a hobby or a skill on: April 07, 2024, 08:20:22 AM

I doubt that any trader is trading for fun because losing money is not funny in any way unless what is causing you to lose that money is enjoyable, just like gaming and gambling. What joy can any person derive from trading when they are losing money?

I also disagree with the OP saying that trading is for fun, that's ridiculous. To be able to win in trading is a process and sometimes it causes us extreme mental stress, how can it be called entertainment?

And to answer the OP's question, it doesn't matter whether you view trading as a hobby or a skill, what matters is how you can profit from it and not lose money. If you consider it a hobby but you continuously lose money with trading, would you still consider it a hobby and choose it?
Trading has never been easy and the purpose of trading is profit, just knowing that is enough, IMO.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to the common man. on: April 07, 2024, 08:08:27 AM
I don’t think the plan is to replace fiat, I won’t believe this is what Satoshi envisioned. Bitcoin is an option and those who see the importance would make use of it. Satoshi neither created Bitcoin to elevate people from poverty. He didn’t speak of how it’ll make people rich nor make them millionaires. Bitcoin may not have been as popular as it is if it weren’t for the volatility, but that doesn’t mean that the reason why it wasn’t created shouldn’t be given attention to. If you find an avenue to make use of Bitcoin as a currency, do it. You don’t need hype or trend to do it.
The reason for bitcoin is not to replace fiat, fiat will still be recognised as a currency. The reason why bitcoin was created is to help people financially and the idea was never to replace fiat. Looking at the volatility of bitcoin,  how people benefit from it can make you to understand why  bitcoin was created because the banking system is not helping at all instead it is killing the value of peoples money when money is stored in the bank, but bitcoin is here to add value to people's hard earned money.

The idea of Satoshi creating bitcoin was not to make people rich but to add financial value to the life of people. Bitcoin is what anybody from any financial class can invest unlike other investment that is only made for the rich.

What you said is not completely wrong, but that does not mean that everyone who invests in bitcoin will increase the value of their assets, there are also people who invest in bitcoin and lose money. Bitcoin is just an investment like any other, and whether you lose or win depends on your knowledge and skills. Bitcoin just gives us an opportunity and it is up to us whether we take advantage of it or not. Don't exaggerate that bitcoin was born to increase value for everyone when there are still many people who lose money when investing in the wrong way.

Bitcoin is still an asset that anyone can own, but I believe that with its current growth rate, sooner or later it will become an asset for those with money. The poor will soon be unable to access it as prices and transaction fees continue to rise.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 07, 2024, 06:45:30 AM
That's true, indeed recently United have not had a good performance and they are now in sixth place. That's not too bad,  but their recent performance has not been optimal, perhaps because they have problems with their defense Indeed, with United's current weak defense and poor performance maybe this will be a good opportunity for Liverpool. But what you say is true as a big team they can give surprises when they are on the field.

Considering the results of recent matches between Liverpool and Manchester United, the Liverpool team can undoubtedly be considered as the favourite. Manchester United are in a very bad position right now. Liverpool have won four of their last five matches, sharing points only against Manchester City. Liverpool, on the other hand, have lost three of their last five matches, winning just one. Even in the last match, Manchester United could not win against Chelsea.

However, Manchester United's record against Liverpool is better this season. These two teams have met twice. Manchester United won the FA Cup match 4–3. Even Liverpool's home match in the Premier League was a goalless draw. And so even if Liverpool are in good form, they will have to play well if they want to get 3 points against United. Especially the attacking players have to perform well.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 07, 2024, 06:07:37 AM
It actually appear like a bad decision when Roma sacked Jose Mourinho but if you look at it carefully, you will realise that the management's were looking at the results. Football is not based of past glories, it is business that present results is very vital for decision making. Just unfortunate that despite sacking Mourinho,  the situation did not change much. Now that it is looking like they might not scale through to the championship spot, they can just concentrate in getting a spot at the Europa. Their one zero win against Lazio is actually a good one.

Many of us criticized the Roma management for sacking an experienced coach like Mourinho. Because Mourinho was a very experienced coach. Even so, Roma management took the tough decision to sack such an experienced coach. And now it seems Roma's decision was right.

De Rossi is not experienced. But he correctly understood the internal problems of the Roma team. And now Roma's performance is very good. Roma played a total of 15 matches after De Rossi took over as coach. Roma have won 10 matches in Bebon and lost only 2 matches. De Rossi has been successful with Roma so far. Roma players have been consistently performing well. And now Roma are fighting for the top four of the table. Roma is only 2 points behind Bologna. If Bologna's performance is not consistent, we will probably see Roma in fourth place in the table.

The game between Brighton and arsenal is going well, Arsenal Clearly dominating the match and mounting the pressure on Brighton. Arsenal on the other hand is wasting beautiful opportunities to being in front. Saka has lost a beautiful chance, Haverts should've converted that ball he passed to Jesus who nodded it without target.

The Brighton goalkeeper its really doing well to deny Jesus the good with a beautiful strike. I love Brighton counter attacks, they always come with good pressure on arsenal players. The game is an entertaining one and I hope arsenal doesn't pay for their mistakes much later.

Although Arsenal is a strong team, Brighton is not an easy opponent for Arsenal. I would even say Brighton have the ability to beat Arsenal. This is why Arsenal have to play today's match very carefully. A win at home to Brighton will be a tough task for Arsenal.

Arsenal managed to take a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half. Bukayo Saka scored from the penalty spot. Both Arsenal and Brighton squad players are also performing well. Arsenal players made a total of 9 shots in the first half, on the other hand, Brighton players made 6 shots. The second half is expected to be more competitive. Both teams will try to score.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 06, 2024, 05:05:32 PM
RR needs 107 from 72 balls and has 9 wickets in hand, looks like another lose in on cards for RCB. Jaiswal has been silent so far this season, what chances he has got for inclusion in T20wc squad if he continues like this? Butler finally playing a good inning.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's two openers managed to play big innings today. But Kohli and Dul Plessis needed to bat more aggressively. Kohli played a huge innings of 113 runs, but his strike rate was 156. Du Plessis scored 44 runs and batted at a strike rate of 136. And finally a descent of 184 runs provided a target for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. If Bengaluru's bowlers were in good form, this collection would have been enough to win. But Bengaluru's bowlers are not in good form.

Due to poor bowling by Bengaluru bowlers, the match was completely in the possession of Rajasthan Royals batsmen. Rajasthan lost the wicket of Jaiswal in the first over. And at the end of 14 overs, Rajasthan collected 145 runs with the loss of 1 wicket. Rajasthan's batsmen need only 39 runs to win in the last 36 balls. Rajasthan Royals are going to get a very easy win.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If everyone is holding their bitcoin, will there be a balance? on: April 06, 2024, 01:30:14 PM
This requires a mindset change. You talk about needing to sell your Bitcoin. You are still thinking of the mindset of a trader, or an investor. You should never sell Bitcoin. It is the only asset that doesn't devalue over time. It took me years to finally wake up to this truth.
Apart from taking years to realize this, it also takes quite a long time to collect it to become a lot (except for people who have a lot of capital). I also agree with your view that Bitcoin does not need to be sold, but if you talk about someone's mindset, it will actually be very different because everyone does not live life with the same conditions. So there is a time for someone to choose to sell Bitcoin, whether to take advantage because the price is already high or because there are other needs that he cannot avoid.

After all, bitcoin is money and the purpose of investing in bitcoin is for us to make profits, if we don't sell it, how can we make a profit from it? Also, is holding on to bitcoins until death or never selling them beneficial to us and our families? We can hold for long term and will only sell when we reach our goal, never say never selling bitcoin is a good thing.

By the way, don't exaggerate when you say that bitcoin is the only asset that does not lose value over time. So what about gold and real estate, are they assets that lose value over time? And what will guarantee that bitcoin will increase forever and never stop? Do you have any proof of that?
215  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening to kucoin? on: April 06, 2024, 01:19:22 PM
Just searched about KuCoin, and I'm seeing some disturbing news about their founders being charged by the Justice Department for violating some laws.

Does anyone know more about this? What implications could this have on the CEX, especially now that they're targeted in the US?
Legal problems will keep on going with exchanges, these are not companies that are unattached to anywhere, they are companies that are seeing things and should be important in the end as well.

I personally believe that we are going to end up with a lot more exchanges with this kind of problem, it won't be too uncommon because all the exchanges in the world (except decentralized ones) are usually companies, which are based in nations and those nations have laws and they could always get in trouble with those laws. This is why we should be careful with what we do and we shouldn't really change anything that we have, I believe that decentralized exchanges are great, but they are not enough, not to me anyway, and not now.

Decentralized exchanges can also be forced to shut down by the government whenever they want, but that has not happened yet because the trading volume on centralized exchanges is negligible and not worth the care about. The recent scandal surrounding the centralized exchange with the US government, other than the reason of wanting to manage and collect taxes, I cannot find any more reasonable reason. The US government wants to show off its power and assert that no one will escape their control.
I bet you, if one day DEX has a large trading volume like CEX, they will not be able to avoid the pursuit of the US government.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to the common man. on: April 06, 2024, 01:10:09 PM
The common man fail to become successful with bitcoin investment because they continue listen to the media, believing influencers or top figures who knows nothing about bitcoin investment.

There is the problem right there.

Stop treating bitcoin as just an "investment", it is a peer to peer digital currency implementation that you're supposed to buy and sell with. We literally would not get to this point if people weren't willing to pay what is now sizable amounts of bitcoin for everyday items.

Same thing I have been saying. But it seems we can’t help it because everyone is blinded by the value instead of seeing the primary purpose. The banks and government are all happy it’s perceived this way too. I really do believe that the huge price value is just a coincidence and Satoshi never knew it’ll be so.

And I want to ask you, are you using bitcoin as currency or are you also accumulating bitcoin to find wealth in the coming years? Also, if we all consider and use bitcoin as a currency to replace fiat, do you think it will be easy for the government to legalize and give us the freedom to use bitcoin? And yet, if bitcoin were not volatile and not profitable, there would not be thousands of stories of becoming millionaires thanks to investing in bitcoin. Do you think people will need bitcoin and will it be as popular as it is today?

I don’t think the plan is to replace fiat, I won’t believe this is what Satoshi envisioned. Bitcoin is an option and those who see the importance would make use of it. Satoshi neither created Bitcoin to elevate people from poverty. He didn’t speak of how it’ll make people rich nor make them millionaires. If you find an avenue to make use of Bitcoin as a currency, do it. You don’t need hype or trend to do it.

I know that Satoshi created bitcoin to create a peer-to-peer currency, not an asset for speculation, but I don't like being conservative and opinionated. But look at what has happened in the past 14 years, bitcoin has always been considered and used as an investment. So why do we still stubbornly consider it a currency when the whole world considers it an asset to invest? I am not a backward person and will always adapt to things so I will be realistic with what bitcoin is becoming.

I still repeat the same old question: are you using bitcoin as currency or are you still holding it with the expectation of getting rich in the upcoming bull run? If you are holding and expecting wealth from bitcoin then you are lying when you say you want it to become currency.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 06, 2024, 11:55:24 AM
An important game for Dortmund today. They are playing at home against 3rd Stuttgart. After beating Bayern 0-2 in the last round, Dortmund's morale must be pretty high and, despite Stuttgart doing better in the league so far, BvB is the 47% favourite. Stuttgart chances are estimated at 30% and chances for a draw are 23%.
If BvB grabs a win tonight, they'll be only one point behind Stuttgart and will be in a good position to attack that 3rd place, given Stuttgart is still to play against Bayern and Leverkusen this season.
Dortmund have great motivation, especially after winning last week against Bayern, of course their mentality has greatly improved for the match against Stuttgart this week, although it won't be easy, but I'm quite optimistic they can win because Dortmund will be playing at home.

Dortmund is a team that has quite a high mentality, they can always produce a much better performance when they are under pressure and now they are in a position to finish in the top 4 and I have no doubt that they can get that.

This is going to be a very important match for both of the teams. For both of them, it is essential that they win this match. Because if Stuttgart wins this match and Bayern Munich, which is right ahead of them, loses their next match, Stuttgart will have same points as Bayern Munich. I don't think they will be able to get ahead of Bayern Munich if they have the same points. Because the goal difference of Bayern Munich is incredible. But if they are on the same point, there is a chance that they will be able to overtake Bayern Munich.

Dortmund would like to win this match because that would create a bigger gap between them and the team that is below them. And these three points will make sure that Dortmund have only one point difference between them and Stuttgart. So that will mean Dortmund will have a chance to get to the third position.

2 to 2 between Salernitata and Sassuolo, as always, like every day, great refereeing controversies over the use of VAR.

with the intrusion of VAR it was said that with VAR all refereeing problems would resolve themselves. I laugh.

Dramatic situation for Sassuolo who without their star player (berardi) seriously risks relegation after a decade in SerieA.

Selling players continuously just to raise cash leads to this situation.

Salernitana has practically already been relegated to Serie B.

Quote
Salernitana seem destined for relegation to Serie B as the final eight weeks of the season approach, with the Campania outfit failing to find a rhythm over the last eight months. The Granata have secured just one win in the league since late November, their only other success this term.
Source: https://onefootball.com

Actually, Salernitana has been escaping the relegation zone for the last couple of seasons since they were promoted. Actually, the season they got promoted, they were able to stay a little further from the relegation zone. Last season they somehow survived. But in this season it is almost or entirely impossible. Because they have a very big gap in terms of points with the team that is ahead of them. and Salernitana is also the team that is at the absolute bottom of the table with the least number of wins and the most number of losses. Hope is lost for them. And the only thing is expected from them in this season is to give the other teams 3 points that they will play against. Teams like Milan and Juventus would be looking to play against them.

very high voltage match Smiley

219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This bitcoin bull market isn't over yet ! on: April 05, 2024, 08:46:50 AM
Yes, Bitcoin's ATH hasn't happened yet. We still have to wait but who knows how long. Maybe next year, there will be a major movement in the price of Bitcoin. Meanwhile, the halving for Bitcoin will happen soon. That could trigger Bitcoin prices to increase again and even reach a new ATH even though the highest price has not yet come.

Yes, you still have to hold the Bitcoin if you want to sell the Bitcoin at the highest price. If you don't know what the highest price is, you need to determine what the highest price will be your selling price. That's so you don't miss out on selling your Bitcoin. You can also still hold it for the long term if you don't want to sell it in the near future.

The highest ATH during the 2021 bull season is 69k$ and recently bitcoin also touched $73k, so in your opinion, 73k$ is not the new ATH of bitcoin? We have had a new ATH this year even though the halving is not yet happening but what we expect is a bigger bull season to come after the halving and bitcoin will make a higher ATH than what we expected.

But don't be too greedy when wanting to sell bitcoin at the highest ATH because no one knows what will be the peak of this bull season until it ends. So, sell when bitcoin reaches your target, don't be greedy and always want to buy at the lowest price and sell at the highest price, that's impossible.
