421  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the world be a better place without religion? on: June 23, 2024, 03:06:06 PM
... I think the world would have be a better place without religion.

I come from a country with many different religions and everyone has their own beliefs. And one thing I feel is that most religions have the purpose of doing good deeds, advising people to help each other, teaching people to become good people, useful to society...In addition, there are also many people who do not follow any religion and I see that they are not much better. So how can you say that religion is destabilizing many parts of the world?

Today's conflicts stem from the greed for power of politicians, the bloodlust of many eccentrics who always want to control the entire world. To be more precise, human greed is creating instability in our world, not any other cause.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Bet on: June 23, 2024, 02:47:41 PM
Bitcoin is gaining a lot of popularity and there are people considering it as a retirement investment. How good is this?

It doesn’t sound bad but understand the volatility of Bitcoin. Also, I think it depends on when you start the retirement plan. If you start from an early age to put those savings in Bitcoin rather than the bank, first, your funds are completely yours, second, you can make some extra if Bitcoin price goes up. Continuously saving more and more over the years would be a good idea because Bitcoin has a trend of good growth. So even before the retirement, the savings could be doubled.

Makes sense, although bitcoin has potential, but we should not ignore its volatility. If we start planning for retirement now and use bitcoin instead of banks or other assets, it will be a great plan and we can even retire earlier than expected if bitcoin reach high prices. But it would be very risky if we are retired and use our retirement money to invest in bitcoin in the hope that it will bring us more profits. Bitcoin's volatility in the short term is very unpredictable and if it accidentally gets dumped, we will pay the price for that. Therefore, depending on the situation and time, we have appropriate choices.

423  Economy / Speculation / Re: Out of prides, investors endangers themselves. on: June 23, 2024, 02:29:33 PM
Introducing bitcoin to someone is not necessarily bad, but convincing them to invest is a bad idea because we do not gain any benefit from it and can even endanger ourselves as in this case .
Actually you can get benefit if you convince them to invest and at the same time ask them to sign up under your referral link, so you will earn the commission. Or, you can create a private mentoring, convince them the basic thing and offer them to join your class if he want to learn deeper.

That's why, you should have a goal or purpose before you doing something.

It's like you're encouraging them to store their bitcoins on centralized exchanges, and how will you deal with them if there's a problem with the exchange and their assets are lost? Not to mention, once you introduce bitcoin to them, you don't mention decentralization, privacy, and non-custodial wallets...You intentionally let them store bitcoins on centralized exchanges to earn commissions, is that worth the trade-off?

I am not a bitcoin expert nor a good investor, my purpose of becoming an investor is to make money in the market. I have no intention of making money by providing trading signals or courses, bitcoin knowledge while they can be found for free on the internet. I'm not really a fan of making money using the methods you mentioned and I'm even quite against them.

Lille defender Leny Yoro favors going to Real Madrid over Liverpool or Red Devils

Of course, he does. After all, it is Real Madrid Wink. Manchester United is not a club for any youngster right now. And Liverpool just had a change of coaching management. So it is probably a very good idea for any young player to choose Real Madrid over Liverpool right now. And of course, Real Madrid is 1000 times better compared to Red Devils. You only go to Manchester United if you want to end your career. We can also see that there is a generational shift going on in Real Madrid. The older generation are getting retired. And the new generation is going to take over. So the future of any young player like Leny Yoro in Real Madrid is actually very good.

425  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What if Most Centralized Exchanges are Banned? on: June 22, 2024, 09:48:34 AM
It will be a good thing because eliminating centralized exchange mean encouraging people to use DEX or P2P.

I will be very happy if most country choose to ban centralized exchanges, this would strengthen the decentralization and the market will be mature because they will learn how to self custody their coins. There have been many centralized exchanges getting hacked or bankrupt, the victim will say Bitcoin is scam if they hold the coins in CEX, unfortunately most people never learn about it.

But that will certainly never happen although it is the scenario that privacy and decentralization enthusiasts dream of. And what is happening is the opposite, the government even supports centralized platforms because through them they can control and manage investors like us. And with the recent attempt to attack mixers, I fear that in the future DEX will be their next target, don't be naive to think that they will support DEX and P2P development when neither of them will be beneficial for them.

Just because some governments have failed to control and operate their economies, they have no reason to blame and they are looking to blame centralized exchanges. That doesn't mean the rest of the countries are doing the same stupid thing. I guess the OP is talking about the Nigerian government with their recent accusations about centralized exchanges.
426  Economy / Economics / Re: Can BRICS topple US' economic power? on: June 22, 2024, 09:16:49 AM
I'm not sure if the BRICS alliance can overthrow the dominance of the US and the USD. But with what is happening, it can be seen that they are creating significant impacts and challenges to US hegemony. But to be fair, it is still very early to say anything because BRICS is still very young, while the US is still actively blocking the BRICS bloc and the USD is still dominating the global market.
In my opinion, it will take a long time for BRICS to weaken US hegemony, and we will not see another currency replace the USD's dominance anytime soon.

it will take time. if peace is achieved in MiddleEast, i think it will actually make the countries there grow and technologies will be shared with countries there to improve lives. there is no reason to stop people from having good lives.

it is a gradual growth for BRICS but there was already news about countries applying to join the bloc such as Turkey which is also a NATO member.
Putin suddenly releases new requirements before a country can join.  Grin

I have heard news that Turkiye wants to join BRICS but there is no further information yet. It's not just Turkiye and as far as I know, there are more than 40 countries that want to join the BRICS group and will not stop at this number. This also shows us the dissatisfaction and indignation of many countries around the world with the hegemony of the US and its allies. And with more and more countries wanting to join BRICS, this means we will soon see strong growth in the bloc.

De-dollarization is a revolution that may succeed or fail, but with growing support from the vast majority of the world, it will increase the likelihood of success as much as the weakening of the dollar is inevitable.

427  Economy / Economics / Re: Here is the serious use case of crypto to deal with your everyday needs on: June 22, 2024, 08:52:53 AM
Honestly, since entering the cryptocurrency market. I have witnessed many cyber attacks on blockchains, the outage of altcoin blockchains or the blockage of the bitcoin. But I have never seen a cyber attack that could slow down the banking system, let alone shut them down (in my country).

Additionally, cryptocurrencies are not legal tender in many countries around the world, including mine. Not to mention the rate of people using and accepting cryptocurrencies is still not as popular as we think. So, I don't think we can use cryptocurrencies to replace banks or fiat currencies to solve our daily needs.

Let us admit the fact that traditional banking won't go anytime soon. It will be a part of financial aspect of government as well as regular people. Cyber attacks will always be there as these fraudsters are always on the lookout for vulnerabilities of any site to exhaust possible sources of funds. So whether in crypto or fiat system, they will try to penetrate it. The advantage of crypto is that they can store it anonymously if they know how to deal with it.

In my opinion, as long as the government is the leader of the world and still controls the world, even if traditional banking disappears and a new system takes its place, it will still be created and controlled by the government. There will never be a situation where a decentralized system replaces the current banking or currency system, and can be beyond the control of the government. It sounds very unpleasant to many of us but we should accept reality, you are right.

Nowadays, cryptocurrencies are becoming more and more popular, and we can see that banks and cryptocurrencies are coexisting and growing very well. We don't need to compare and choose which one when we can take advantage of both to create more conveniences in life.
428  Economy / Speculation / Re: Out of prides, investors endangers themselves. on: June 22, 2024, 08:37:16 AM
I think this my newly investor friend was out of pride and just wanted to make this other guy feel regret but does not know the dangerous implications he has just made upon himself and his Bitcoin assets.
It is unfortunate for investors who lives this life of proving themselves to people just to make them believe on their investment.
We don't know if he did what he did out of pride or by sheer attitude of trying to convince the doubting friend about bitcoin with a proven evidence directly from his wallet. One thing is here is certain, you didn't preach to him about privacy with bitcoin and how important not to comprise on it.

While we brush people up about how profitable bitcoin can be to them if they invest long we should with that approach enlighten them too on the tenets of how to safeguard their investment from public notice because privacy is peace.  The more people don't know about your finances the more peaceful and secure live becomes for you.

I wouldn't blame the OP in this case because he didn't mention privacy to his friend. Even if it is not bitcoin but another asset/investment, it is his decision whether to share it with others or not because if he had a boastful personality, he would do it with other assets as well, not just with bitcoin.

But you're right, we don't know what his real intentions are, is he bragging or just wants to convince the other friend. But regardless of his intentions, revealing his assets to others is a huge risk even if it is not bitcoin. Not only should we keep our bitcoin investments a secret, but we should also refrain from flaunting our wealth under any circumstances and to everyone.
Well, we are all making assumptions still, and the appropriate person to rightly declare his position to end our assumptions of if it was done out of pride or not is the guy in question, which unfortunately we can't reach the mysterious guy. Though Op on his own part alleged to have given him a comprehensive guide.

OP is the one who introduced him to bitcoin and I think OP should contact him first to confirm about it before getting negative thoughts and accusing him of bragging. Although he was wrong to share his bitcoin balance with others, if he just wanted to convince others to invest in bitcoin, if he has good intentions, OP only needs to give advice and not necessarily give harsh criticism and spread this on the internet.

Nevertheless, we shouldn't risk our privacy in the process of trying to prove a point mostly when it concerns money. There should be a limit to what we can expose to friends and family as we can't really read their inner thought towards our success. At this era with how widespread the word bitcoin has penetrated into diverse corners of the society there is no need working up ourselves to convince anyone about investing.

But it happened anyway and his privacy was violated. I guess the guy who hasn't invested in bitcoin will continue to tell many other people about this and this will be a big lesson for this guy.

Introducing bitcoin to someone is not necessarily bad, but convincing them to invest is a bad idea because we do not gain any benefit from it and can even endanger ourselves as in this case .

430  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Silver undervalued? on: June 21, 2024, 04:18:09 PM
Rising geopolitical conflicts (wars) are having a positive effect over precious metals' prices. Particularly, Gold. However, things aren't looking too bright for Silver. The gray metal has been struggling to reach higher prices, staying within the $25 - $30 valuation of an ounce. Many experts predicted Silver would reach $50 an ounce, but that's far from becoming a reality anytime soon. Comparing Silver and Gold market performance, I'd say the latter has achieved substantial gains within such a short amount of time.

I'm beginning to think that Silver is extremely-undervalued. Do you concur? If not, why? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

During the economic crisis of 2022, I also heard a lot of speculation and optimistic predictions about silver. But up to now we see that gold has had strong growth over the past year but silver has not yet had too many positive movements. So I really don't appreciate silver even though it is the second most precious metal after gold.

If you are looking at people's opinions about silver and making an investment decision. I think you should consider bitcoin rather than investing in silver, an asset that doesn't get as much attention despite being thousands of years old like gold. If you are looking for an asset that is undervalued but has strong future growth potential, bitcoin is a better choice than silver.

There are some interesting news and rumors about Al Ittihad. It seems Al Ittihad is still trying to hire more superstar players because Benzema was not the player they wanted to see and they couldn't get good results with this player.
Some players like Son Heung-min, Federico Chiesa, and Salah are linked to Al Ittihad however nothing is confirmed yet but I think Al Ittihad is very close to Salah considering his situation in Liverpool.

Al lttihad need more players that can help them to play better next season, they do not have better players as Al Nassr and Al-Hilal that won the league last season. If Al lttihad want to be contenders for the league when next season starts they should be very busy buying some players from Europe because they are those with a better players and with the sum of money that they will be offering, they can get very good players that will be willing to play for them and improve their team. Mo Salah is good to be a very good signing and if he is willing to move to Saudi pro league, he should be Al lttihad top choices because he can help the team with creating chances for them to score. Benzema needs assistance and Mo salah can help him but they should not stop there, there are more players available that can help the club to win the league next season.

Having only one player, one superstar player in the squad is definitely not going to be enough ever to actually win anything. Benzema is not that great of a striker I know a lot of people are going to disagree but it is the truth. Known for missing more than he is known for scoring. He was in good form and that's why the Saudi club decided to bring him in. But soon they had to realize that having only Benzema was not going to be enough for them. They need to get more players in. And by that I mean get more popular players who are still able to perform well. By doing that they will probably be able to compete for the Saudi Pro League title. Still might not get as good enough as Al Nassr or Al Hilal though.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: June 21, 2024, 11:04:22 AM
Ligue 1 will not lose its popularity but PSG will lose its dominance. I actually think that without Mbappe, other teams will have the opportunity to eliminate PSG's dominance. Yes, PSG is still the #1 favorite for now, but at least they won't be as dominant as they were when they were with Mbappe. We might be able to see where PSG has to fight to win the league championship, unlike this season where PSG really dominated Ligue 1 with a goal difference of +48 goals and collected 76 points, 9 points ahead of Monaco in second place.

I don't believe Mbappe leaving PSG would make them not dominate the French league. They still have so much money more than every other team in the league. They still have to money to sign the best footballers in the world, other Ligue 1 teams don't have that luxury.
Without Mbappe, the coach just needs to build his team around other players. PSG have a good coach in Enrique and he knows how to manage a team.

PSG still have a few signings to make in other to strengthen their team. They need defenders midfielders and also attackers, but the problem with PSG is that they always make the wrong decisions. I don't know how they always seem to neglect their midfield and defence and focus only on attack.
I believe PSG would still win the league comfortably next season, and yeah I also believe without Mbappe, the recognition of the Ligue 1 would reduce a bit.

No, Mbappé leaving Parc des Princes ground is definitely going to reduce the popularity of the whole Ligue 1. After all, he is the best player in the world right now.

But that does not mean PSG is going to suddenly not dominate the Ligue 1 from now on. I don’t think people can even fathom how much money these Arabs and Qatari guys have. Yes, it is true that nobody likes to lose money. But he still definitely has a lot of money. PSG can still buy almost any players that they actually want. But they are doing the right thing and not throwing money at the players. Just like they did with Mbappé. If they did not give him so much special treatment, probably he would have performed better for the club. Now Luis Enrique has come it seems he is actually a good one. Let's see if he is able to bring glory to the PSG team by winning the Champions League.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: June 21, 2024, 10:23:37 AM

This is Joan Laporta's mistake so they are now suffering the consequences. Regarding when they will recover and be able to compete again with Real Madrid in the race for the title, I think it will take a long time, especially since their rivals are able to make the team's performance very stable, so it will be even more difficult for Barcelona.
I don't really agree if you say this is Laport's fault because regardless of anything this Barcelona problem has been going on since a few seasons ago and we need to remember that Laporta is the president who was given a heavy burden to improve Barcelona's condition which has been damaged due to not very good management from the previous Bartomeu era so Laporta is just a replacement president who is still trying to stabilize Barcelona's financial strength until now and I don't think he is entirely to blame.

Although in this case there are some controversial decisions such as when they prefer to remodel the stadium rather than improve financial conditions or shop for players more than expected in the early Xavi era including Xavi's dismissal this season which I think is quite controversial but overall when Laporta replaced the role of Bartomeu at least there was a difference where he gradually managed to improve financially even though it was not completely healthy for now.

However in this case there are some controversial decisions such as when they prefer to remodel the stadium rather than improve financial conditions or shop for players more than expected in the early Xavi era including Xavi's dismissal this season which I think is quite controversial but overall when Laporta replaced the role of Bartomeu at least there was a difference where he gradually managed to improve financially even though it was not completely healthy for now.

The problem was actually created by Bartomeu. he was the one who spent money like crazy if I’m not wrong. And he left Barcelona from where it was really hard for Barcelona to actually overcome financial difficulties. It is actually amazing that Barcelona is still able to perform the way they are and still able to attract really good players. But almost any other club would have vanished or at least gotten relegated.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 21, 2024, 06:18:42 AM
Leverkusen is showing a pretty good performance at the moment in the Bundesliga, but on the contrary the first defeat of the season they got in the Europa League against a team that has never been the favorite to win the Europa League, the defeat to Atlanta of course indicates that the mentality possessed by Leverkusen is not enough to compete in the current European competition, this season Leverkusen failed in Europe after the lack of mentality they have so that our doubts arise To be able to see them go far in the Champions League next season, as you said, of course at the moment Leverkusen still needs to improve the quality of the squad they have to maintain their Bundesliga champion status and also compete in the Champions League next season.

Currently it is reported that some Leverkusen players are starting to be approached by big European teams, so if Leverkusen loses some of their main players this season, of course it will be very risky for Leverkusen, in addition to having to maintain the current squad, of course Leverkusen must bring in several other players who are able to improve their mentality and performance next season,  I personally see if maybe Leverkusen is still able to compete in the top 4 of the Bundesliga next season, but competing for the title again certainly seems impossible because currently Bayern Munich is starting to improve their squad.

The fact that Bayern Leverkusen were undefeated until the final of the competition shows that they are very strong. However, a team that competes for a full season and is still beaten till the final is not a weak team, and that doesn’t mean they won’t perform as we are saying in the champions league.

I believe they can do it even in the champions league competition, even if they will perform the same as they are doing in the Bundesliga, because I know the Champions League has many more strong teams than the Bundesliga that Leverkusen have already used to, so the thing here is that Leverkusen will not be beaten in the champions league, but with their current status of performance, I believe even if they don't top the table, they will nearly make it to the top.

We can't say them Neverkusen anymore, lol Cheesy

They were absolutely undefeated in all competitions except the final match against Atalanta have played in the Europa League competition. After seeing last season we must have to accept Leverkusen are a great team. But if you ask me, I would not say that they are a very strong team. Especially not compared to the other teams like Los Blancos or Manchester City. Even I can say that they are not that strong even compared to the FC Hollywood squad.

I don't have any doubt about Xabi Alonso, he is a really good coach and also a great game plan. That is why they have been able to win against pretty big opponents and also win the Bundesliga title. And I believe that they will be able to play consistently in the next season also. Mainly because they have Alonso as the coach in the next season as well.

While we wait for the EPL to officially kick off on the 17 of August. This is my bet for the season and what would come out if it.

1. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are teams likely to win the EPL title

2. Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton are teams that may likely go for relegation.

3. UEFA qualifiers should be Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.

I agree with you, those three teams will still going to be among the top of the season next premier league competition to embrace the title, because they are still in good form to display to make their fans happy through out the season. If you watch the match of Leicester City and Southampton last season, you will no that relegation zone is not going to be far from them next season, because their managements are not ready to sign in new potential players to boost the team next season. Champions league competition, I think Chelsea and Manchester united will going to try to be among the top in that competition but it will be difficult for them to win the title, because Real Madrid will not allow such thing to happen next season base on some kind players they are using next season.

My prediction is that in the English Premier League, Manchester City and Arsenal are going to dominate. I am not sure about how the performance is going to be from Liverpool because I have to wait and see what kind of performance Arne Slot's squad are able to bring in as he joined newly with Reds. I would personally like to see a better performance from Tottenham in the next season. I personally have not been satisfied with the result that they have been able to at the end of the season, especially with how well they had started the season. Aston Villa have surprised everyone. I wonder if Unai Emery's team will actually be able to perform well enough in the next season as well to finish in the top four positions. Definitely not impossible. Especially with teams like Tottenham and Chelsea performing so badly.

In the Champions League, Real Madrid is still the king. And now they also have Mbappé in the squad. Smiley

Everything has good and bad side, we use mobile phone use internet or all other technology using this technology but we not only do good things but there are many people who do many bad things with the help of this technology. There are two types of hackers, one is black hacker and the other is white hacker, black hacker steals the information of others, on the other hand, white hacker fixes the errors of various sites. In the case of Bitcoin use, many times it is seen that some kidnappers kidnap people and demand ransom through Bitcoin, it is definitely bad behavior by Bitcoin but its responsibility should not be given to Bitcoin. We invest in Bitcoin and expect good things in the future on the other hand there are some criminals who try to commit crimes through Bitcoin. We should see how well we are doing with Bitcoin, not what others have done.

To be more precise, good or bad is human behavior, we should not blame bitcoin, fiat or any other tool just because it is being used by criminals to commit crimes. Everything in this world is created with only one purpose: to make our lives more convenient and better. Bitcoin was created by Satoshi because he was tired of inflation, the devaluation of fiat currencies, and the suffocating control of the government over the people. He was just trying to create a currency that would help us fight inflation, limit government control, he never intended to create bitcoin for criminals to use.

The existence of Bitcoin has shown me another dimension; will there ever be a second Bitcoin?
So far bitcoin is unique, the rest of the market has no bright candidates that can compete or will become as great as bitcoin. But our world is constantly evolving and we cannot predict what will happen in the future. Satoshi was able to create bitcoin and bring surprise to all humanity, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility that someone will create something great or better than bitcoin in the future. But it's about the future, things that haven't happened yet, what we need to focus on now is bitcoin and it is unique.
Grateful and thankful to Satoshi, focusing on bitcoin are things I think we should focus on instead of thinking about things that are not possible or have not happened yet.

I also don't see senses of following the crowd in this investment space because everything about us differs and all that matters is how we can effectively make those goals done deals.
Choosing a long-term or short-term strategy is up to you, you don't need to follow the crowd or follow other people's advice. But you also need to think again, why does the crowd prefer long-term holding over short-term investing? Or why are there stories of many people becoming rich and becoming millionaires by holding bitcoin, not by speculating like you are looking for? Those who give you long-term holding advice must have their own reasons and all they want is for you to be safer and secure your profits. People just want the best for you but the final decision is up to you because it's your money, you can do whatever you want.

Some parents might be close-minded and sterile in thought, or they may not be worthy or qualified for their children to disclose their private matters to them due to their old age and lack of experience, and misconceptions about this field, that it is a scam, unreal money, and a lot of nonsense and falsehoods as if their son were a Drug Dealer.

From our perspective, when parents discourage or forbid, we think they are close-minded and sterile in thought...But from our parents' perspective, they only want the best for us and don't want us to get lost in life. Which parent wants their child to become a criminal? Which parent wants their child to go to prison? Surely no parent wants that. We should not blame our parents because they are the older generation, they have sacrificed their whole lives to raise us and ignorance is inevitable. Instead, let's find a way to explain to them what we're doing, let's find a way to dispel their doubts and worries about bitcoin. Don't try to hide it from them because that will make them even more suspicious, and things will get worse.
