541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More secure ways of storing bitcoin? on: October 21, 2023, 05:23:29 AM
Many here are suggesting that they do not keep anything on exchanges. I doubt this. They must be having good amount on exchanges. They operate with huge amounts and must be involved in trading crypto also. It will not make much difference to their net worth even if they loose funds on one exchange due to hack. They keep the risk versus reward ratio in mind before taking such decisions. Keeping the money idle in hardware wallets or paper wallets will give them no returns at all.

The majority here are maximalists and bitcoin holders, so it is not surprising that they do not like centralized exchanges and never store assets on them. I believe what everyone says because everyone is aware of the risks of storing assets on centralized exchanges. But if someone is a day trader and says so then they are lying because no trader has enough time and money to deposit and withdraw money at the end of the day after trading.

I'm still using centralized exchanges for my P2P transactions but I'm holding my bitcoins with a hardware wallet and I don't need nor care about the small profits from staking or trading in day. Not everyone is in a hurry to make money as fast as you and take risks when staking your crypto assets on exchanges, don't impose your thoughts on others.
542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dump market potential? on: October 21, 2023, 04:41:20 AM
I think that support from countries to countries that are at war will not exceed their ability to help and that is only in the form of weapons and food and other countries are very likely not to be directly involved in the war.
However, in my opinion, the wars that occur often make no sense in being linked to Bitcoin because Bitcoin's scale with the global economy is not large, so the fear that is spread among Bitcoin owners is only to take advantage of certain parties. If you believe that Bitcoin will continue to follow its usual four-year cycle then ignore all the news wars but usually the ones who worry about Bitcoin are those who don't own it because those who own Bitcoin will maintain optimism without caring about other people's views about what might happen to Bitcoin because the current war is not as big in scale as imagined and only the media always exaggerates it.

I think bitcoin is also part of the world economy so if there is a war, just destabilizing the world economy will definitely affect bitcoin. That's just like when the war between Russia and Ukraine broke out, every market panicked and bitcoin was not immune. I still hope the 4-year cycle will repeat, but we need to note that, in previous cycles, we did not encounter crises, wars or inflation like today. So it's hard to be sure that everything will stay the same and nothing will change. Bitcoin is getting bigger and more popular, so to say that it is not tied to the economy is not entirely true.

The current war has not caused too much instability, but with the supporting parties also being strongly divided, I fear the war will spread and become more serious. But let's hope the war ends soon because it brings no benefit to the world.

The bigger Bitcoin covers the whole world, the more countries that accept and make rules about Bitcoin, the closer the economic movement of a country or the global market will be to Bitcoin price movements. For now, data related to the economic growth of a country, especially the US, has a big influence on Bitcoin. So war conditions involving a country and also related to America will have a clear influence on Bitcoin.

The best hope for Bitcoin prices to improve is to hope that the war that occurred this time will subside. And world economic growth is also improving, why should we buy bitcoin if things get worse? Maybe this is my rough logic, and investors will abandon Bitcoin if things get worse and choose something that is more beneficial for them to survive.

If evaluated fairly, it is clear that bitcoin is still considered a risky asset by the world rather than a safe haven. So, thinking that BTC is not affected by war or the world economy is not true at all.

I also think like you, bitcoin price will improve when the general world situation becomes more stable, but if the unstable situation continues, worse things will happen to bitcoin. However, there are still cases where bitcoin still increases in price and ignores the world economic situation unless manipulation occurs. I still think that the market is manipulated more than based on supply and demand, so if bitcoin prices increase while the economy is in crisis, it will be manipulated by sharks and market makers.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 20, 2023, 01:54:02 PM
I won't say there is absolutely no chance of Pakistan winning. This is a much more difficult task, but it is not impossible. The outfield is very fast. If Pakistan's batsmen can stay at the crease, they have a chance to win this match. Scoring runs will not be too difficult if Pakistan's batsmen can stay at the crease. But the performance of Pakistan's batsmen is very erratic. They cannot be trusted.

Pakistani openers Imam Ul Haque and Abdullah Shafique have started well. Pakistan collected 40 runs in 5 overs. The team has not lost any wicket yet. They are batting very smoothly. Abdullah scored 10 runs from 11 balls and Imam Ul Haque remained unbeaten with 25 runs from 19 balls. If the opening pair is prolonged, the match will become more competitive.
Chasing down a score of 360+ is never easy, no matter what the pitch is like. But runs are coming from Pakistani batters, which is a good sign. However, they need to be cautious about not losing wickets quickly because if they lose 2/3, it puts them under pressure. Still, I believe Pakistan has a chance to chase this total, especially on this flat track with a small boundary. It's an opportunity for them to score and win the game. But, Australia is the favorite, and I think they might win comfortably.

Batting for a target of 368 is difficult to win, and very difficult. But it is not impossible. And that's what I mean. It is possible. But the top order players must play well. Australia scored 284 runs from their two openers. Pakistan need to get at least 150 runs from their two openers. Otherwise it will be impossible to win such a big target. Also Babar and Rizwan are in good form. We saw that they batted very responsibly against Sri Lanka in big targets as well. And that's why I think the match will be very competitive. But Pakistan's chances of winning are now said to be 20-25%. Australia's chances of victory are high if they can do controlled bowling.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 20, 2023, 01:23:34 PM
In the end, Australia's innings ended on 367 runs. They should have collected more than 400. Because the two openers batted brilliantly. The team lost 9 wickets to collect these 367 runs.

After collecting 259 runs from the first wicket pair, the team could not collect 300 runs. The middle order batted very poorly. Apart from the two openers, no other player can bat well. Australia collected only 28 runs in the last 6 overs. I expected some better batting from Australia's middle order.

Pakistan's fielding was not good enough today. If the fielding was good, they could have stopped the Australian team within 350. Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled brilliantly today. If one more bowler like Afridi did well today, Australia would not have collected so much. He took 5 wickets for just 54 runs in 10 overs. However, let's see how Pakistan performs batting against such a big target.
After 33 overs, Australia's total was 245/0. In the last 17 overs they collected 122 runs and lost 9 wickets. They averaged a little over 7 runs per over. The batting of Australia's two openers looked like they would deliver a target of over 400. But after the two openers are out, no batsman can bat responsibly. The two openers put together 284 runs today and Pakistan gave 25 extra runs. The collection of the remaining 9 batsmen of Australia was only 58 runs. Had Maxwell or Smith been able to stay at the crease, the team could have collected around 400.

Haris Rouf scored the most runs among Pakistani bowlers today. Despite picking up three wickets, he conceded 83 runs in 8 overs. I miss Naseem Shah today. If Naseem Shah was in the squad along with Afridi, maybe Pakistan's bowling attack would have been stronger.

I won't say there is absolutely no chance of Pakistan winning. This is a much more difficult task, but it is not impossible. The outfield is very fast. Hong Kong lost the toss and elected to bat first and were all out for 94 runs. Hong Kong's batting could not last long in front of Nepal's bowlers. Early in the innings, Karan KC took wickets in the first two overs to put the Hong Kong side under pressure. As a result, Hong Kong could not score more runs, and eventually got all out. Karan KC bowled 4 overs and took 4 wickets for 15 runs. Set to bat at a target of 95 runs, Nepal won in 13.5 overs with many overs to spare. Nepal's bowling and batting line was very good in today's match. Due to which Nepal was able to win easily. Congratulations to the Nepal team.
Second match of 2023 Nepal T-20I Tri Nation series ended between Hong Kong and Nepal teams. This match held in the Mulpani Cricket Stadium. Nepal chose first bowling in the pitch. Hong Kong performance was too bad in second match of this series. Hong Kong scored 94 runs target in 19.3 overs and their entire team dismissed. Yasim Murtaza performance was commendable in comparison to other batters' performance. He scored 36 runs in 36 balls and hitted two 4s and one 6s after this he gone away from Abinash Bohara bowler of Nepal team. Karan KC who is a fantastic bowler of Nepal team and he took wickets of four Hong Kong batters and get player of the match. Congratulations Nepal team again great victory of this match.

Right now Nepal is the only team that has positive points between these three. Nepal has played two matches so far and they have been able to win both of them. The other two teams have played one match each and neither of them has been able to win a single match so far.

The next match is Nepal versus Hong Kong again, and I think Nepal is going to be the winner again. The match will be played on 21st October.
548  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your take on the pump coming? on: October 19, 2023, 08:18:10 AM
Yes, Bitcoin will definitely increase higher before the end of this year for those that have negative mindset to believe that positive things will definitely occur in a way long term investors and short term will be very happy at the end of their investment. You can still make Bitcoin your choice in this bearish season to invest, because bullish season is very close and it will take a long months in the market before bearish season will return back for investors to buy again. I have invested in Bitcoin early this year, but I still feel like invest more so that when the price increase to $60,000 I will have something good to achieve.
Lower your expectations a bit for the next bullish market. BTC is not entirely within your control; it's all speculation. Don't act recklessly by making massive purchases that leave you without funds to seize opportunities beyond Bitcoin. Let's be realistic for a moment, and refrain from encouraging everyone to buy BTC in anticipation of a bullish trend.

Remember that if your expectations are not promptly met, a significant BTC sell-off by many will ensue, signaling an unbearable bearish market. This situation occurs because the expectations held by many have been excessively high, driven by confidence in the next all-time high (ATH) due to the halving event.

Optimism is something we all need, but we need to be realistic and not too subjective with our predictions. If we intend to hold for the long term even if the bull season does not occur after the halving, then buy bitcoin whenever possible. But if we set short-term expectations like the price will definitely increase by the end of the year or the real bull season will come after the halving, we should be careful. There is no certainty that everything will turn out according to our predictions even if we are good at market analysis.

What I'm thinking is that as everyone is focusing on the upcoming halving event, will history repeat itself or will the game change its rules to become more unpredictable?
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give Bitcoin investment time on: October 19, 2023, 08:05:15 AM
...

...

Now, if you have Bitcoin in your balance address and are waiting for the halving or bull season, it might not be a terrible idea to put it into staking or farming so that you can earn right immediately, right? as long as the platform is still DYOR.

I consider this the worst idea because to be able to stake or farm to increase the number of bitcoins, you need to give your bitcoins to centralized platforms and that is too risky. Instead of looking to increase your bitcoin by taking such a big risk, why don't you work hard and save more to buy bitcoin? Halving is approaching, price increase season is approaching, don't face too big a risk in return for a small profit. Hold onto your bitcoins in a non-custodial wallet and wait for the bull season to arrive.
The same thing applies to me. I'd rather keep my invested Bitcoin to a wallet that is on my care, making it grow through staking that offers a small amount of interest is not really worth the risk. DCA, the only thing to do while waiting for the halving and until it shows an effect, just do DCA. Instead of taking a risk to earn bitcoin by staking, make it grow by adding your investment every month.

Until the price of bitcoin is still stable, starting to do DCA right now is a great idea. A year or more, the outcome of that investment will show an unexpected result. Just be patient and take the opportunity to invest as much as you can.

You should continue to accumulate or DCA if you have money left, do it until the real bull season comes, but in case you don't have any money left to continue your DCA strategy, hold your bitcoins in a non-custodial wallet. Don't put your bitcoins at risk just to make a small profit on centralized platforms. Why have many people still not learned any lessons after the FTX incident or leading lending platforms like BlockFi, Celsius Network...? The risk is that we will lose everything while the profit is not even 10% per year, it is really not worth the risk.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 19, 2023, 04:38:25 AM
Erik Ten Hag tenure have surpassed two seasons and we are yet to noticed any changes in the Red Devils. We are watching the exact same Old Trafford playing football again and again, with absolutely no new pattern. The only change observed are the players but things will fall in place in due time for Erik Ten Hag who's also not relenting as he concentrates completely on a new team. The only mistake committed by Erik is making inappropriate signings and also having issues with players, which is regarded as a very bad behavior as headcoach.

It hasn’t surpassed two season, this season is his second season but definitely he needs to be getting results far better what United have been able to achieve so far. Last season he went all the way in the four competitions he was involved in and won 1 and went to the knockout stages of 2 and then finish third in the league which was considered a success considering Manchester recent performances. This transfer window I would say I expected Erik Ten Hag to have gotten some better players to add to his squad but he didn’t, something that I wouldn’t want to blame him for but the management. The Glazers have always been a major problem to this Manchester United club since they bought it, they even got worse when Sir Alex left and this can be seeing by them rejecting a clear sale after a potential buyer bid an amount almost 2x the worth of the club’s valuation and they opted for a serial business partnership.

As for Ten Hag having issues with his players, definitely there is no manger that doesn’t have a problem with certain players regarding most especially the biggest ones in the squad. The problem with him is how he ousted them from the squad which in some way wasn’t professional but was certainly needed if he actually wants to control the dressing room

Ten Hag wanted the club to spend a lot of money. If he was actually able to bring in the very expensive players that he actually asked for, I have no doubt that Manchester United was going to end up as the club that spent the most in a season. And to be honest, some of the players wouldn't have been interested in coming to Manchester United just because of the recent performance.

And I also do not think that if he got those very expensive players in the squad, he would have been able to bring in good results. He did spend a lot of money still. The results are not there anyway.

^^ You can't expect to win match when you are dropping easy catches. it was so frustrating to watch them field and throwing was embarrassing, if they were quick on the field then they had at least 2 runout chances as well so they deserve to lose this match.

They dropped Young when he was on single digit and he stitched a crucial partnership with the Rachin (he was dropped too). Then Afghan went to drop 2 more simple catches. Latham and Glenn Phillips punished them for that.
Yep, I did watch those 2 dropped catches especially at the slip and another one is just a sitter after that I just tracked down the scores only so can't able to experience their embarrassing moments. Grin Anyway Afgans batted really poor so even if they managed to get the NZ under 200 they still failed to score on this pitch.

Another fun fact I found, Afghanistan is having the lowest batting average of all the playing nations in between 10-40 overs, this proves that their middle order didn't contribute anything to the scores.

The main reason for Afghanistan's poor performance in this World Cup is their middle order. I haven't seen the middle order players batting responsibly in a single match yet. Afghanistan team lost in every match by a big margin. Afghanistan's two openers played quite well against England. Also Ikram's performance was good. So finally Descent was able to provide a target to the team. Besides, we have seen bad batting of Afghanistan against New Zealand, India and Bangladesh.

Afghanistan's bowlers are doing well enough. I have no complaints about their performance. If Afghanistan could have fielded well, it would have been challenging for New Zealand to score 200 runs. Bad fielding was one of the major reasons behind Afghanistan's defeat in today's match.
552  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach all-time-high before halving. - BitQuant on: October 18, 2023, 11:10:10 AM

Of course, everyone can make their own prediction. But you need to know that newbies sometime can misunderstand it, they may think every prediction is valid and guaranteed. We are here to give other perception, so the newbies will understand it is just a guess. Regarding BitQuant, surely I can google myself but I want to give the chance for the OP to explain it first.

I think the recent unrealistic predictions about bitcoin price have motives and conspiracies behind them, they are not just simple predictions or just their expectations. You are right in saying that when newbies look at these predictions, they will make serious mistakes with their investments. I guess the predictions come from institutions or famous people who are deliberately manipulating the psychology of newbies and turning them into a liquidity pool in the upcoming bull season. In the market, if they want to sell at a high price, there must be someone who buys at a high price, so this is most likely a conspiracy behind these predictions.
553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: October 18, 2023, 11:00:02 AM
There is no need to worry about the price fall that is still occurring this month, because Bitcoin can always return to the best price when the moment is most possible. Most people are still very patiently waiting for the halving and hoping that it can be a very exciting moment, but for now I just want to hope that things may be more realistic on the Bitcoin price side as the $29K range is not a striking thing to hope for. everyone before December arrives.

I think the worries have to come to play because if you look at how the price is moving you'd think by the next day you'd see Bitcoin price at $30k but it won't even make any move to surpass $27k, is like $27k has something that's not letting it get past it to $28k and stay there for even if it's a day or two.
In as much as the expectations are high on the upcoming halving, we shouldn't forget that it might not turn out positive as we expect it to be and there might be a delay this month or the remaining part of this year for the price to get to $30k so is best to wait and expect less which is really hard.

If you have absolute faith in bitcoin and you have been through bull seasons before, you won't have to worry about what we're going through. If you are still worried, it shows that you are too impatient to profit while the halving has not yet happened. Bitcoin hasn't gone up in price like we expected, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Why don't you consider it an opportunity when you have more time to accumulate bitcoins? I know many people are feeling satisfied with bitcoin prices under $30k or they are even looking forward to a dump to buy bitcoins under $20k again.

The match is being delayed due to rain. South Africa  won the toss and decided to field. I don't know why they decided to field. Because  in the first two matches they were able to bat first and collect huge. They scored 400+ in the  first match and 300+ in the second match against Australia. And both matches were won by South Africa by 100+ runs. I thought  I might see some great batting from South Africa today. But the South African captain won the toss and decided  to field. The match is delayed due to rain.  Maybe it will start soon. If they win today's match, the South African team  will go to the top of the points table.
The match was supposed to start at 1:30 and now the one and half hours was passed and we didn't see a single ball because of the rain and bad weather conditions . Dharamsala weather is not good today. Right now, the weather in Dharamsala is on 14 degrees. Actually, Dharamsala is a cold and cool weather state in India in Dharamsala the mostly weather is on low pressure that’s why Dharamsala weather is cold and dry. Anyway, this is a cricket post, not a geography study post so we should talk about the cricket match, but the match is not start so we don’t have anything to say about the match.
The match has started. And the match will be held in 43 overs. There are more advantages for South Africa to win this match.
Netherlands openers are batting cautiously. They managed to score 21 runs in 5 overs without losing any wicket. I think Netherlands' target in this match is to give Descent a target to make the match competitive. With a weak and inexperienced squad as Netherlands know well, South Africa cannot be beaten now. Because South Africa are now at the peak of form. South Africa will maintain consistency in today's match if no miracle happens. And will win by a big margin. It will be difficult for the Netherlands batsmen to collect 200 runs against the South African bowlers.

The Netherlands team has already lost two wickets. The two openers returned to the dressing room. Netherlands managed to collect only 27 runs in 8 overs. At an average of 3.5 runs per over they could not collect. And after losing two experienced batsmen so quickly, the Dutch batsmen are now under pressure.

We saw very good bowling from the South African bowlers against Australia. The target of 312 runs was given by the South African team. On the other hand, Australian batsmen managed to collect only 177 runs. I don't think Netherlands batsmen will collect big against South Africa today. It is very difficult for Netherlands to collect 200 runs.

I wonder why he should apologize if he feels that he is right? Judging by how crappy United are playing and what shape the players are in (by the way, there was also a leak that an internal investigation was carried out at United regarding a large number of injuries), there should be questions not only for Sancho. If the head coach allowed all these problems to become so critical and deep, then he himself is to blame.
People are judge someone based on their title, since Sancho is a player which is someone who trained by Ten Hag, people think if Sancho is wrong since Ten Hag is more superior than Sancho. If the conflict is between Ten Hag and the Glazer, people will blame Ten Hag and so on.

If Sancho feels that he's right, he should leave Manchester United in the next transfer window since there's nothing he can get there.

At this day and age, there are a lot of news circulating around all the players. And for a player like him who is playing in Manchester United, everything is going to be big news.

anyway, when it comes to thinking between players and coaches or authority, I will obviously support the player. because most of the time it is the authorities who are making the wrong decisions. I obviously don't know the absolute ins and outs of this situation. But I will also agree that if Sancho feels that he is right, he should stick by his words and leave Manchester United. After all, we have seen Manchester United making some dumb decisions and also creating problems with several players in recent times.

OP, what @Marvell1 said is true and needed anytime, anywhere and it will be strong evidence and a powerful weapon to get nod from anyone. Regarding what you asked above, I think everyone likes the three of them and especially BTC where Bitcoin continues to grow in terms of adoption, becoming more real and stronger from day to day, even though the volatility is quite good, it will continue to decline in recent times.

OP is not the first person on this forum that I've seen who enjoys giving bitcoin investment advice to others, but has never invested in bitcoin. If I were his parents, I wouldn't believe what he said because he doesn't have any experience or achievements from investing in bitcoin. What you say is just what you hear online or hear from others, all of which will never be enough to convince anyone. Let's try to put ourselves in their situation, can we trust someone when they haven't earned money or they have a lower income than us?

I actually do not see any problem with him being in Real Madrid as long as he plays well. However, the problem is if he is in Real Madrid, it is very possible that he is going to suffer an injury because you know the competition is definitely very high. At least compared to if he goes to the Saudi Pro League or somewhere else, right? I know he can definitely still play football very well. But the problem is if at this age, he picks up an injury, it is going to be a big problem for him in the future. And I agree that if he does decide to retire, it is not going to be really unbelievable at this point.

Watching the league and the national team, he is playing a lot like a defensive midfielder late in his career, that allows him to be around for the defense, as much as he can defend of course with his age, but also he is the one that gets the ball from the defenders and start the attack, that allows him to be the playmaker sort of speaking. That is not a bad idea, that actually helps both teams to utilize him at his old age. It is not all that easy for him to attack and score or assist, but he could definitely do a hockey assist and just get the ball rolling.

I still think that he should retire at the end of the season, or at least shouldn't be at Real Madrid anymore, he could maybe go to Saudi Arabia or something, he would be amazing there for a few more years, but that dude is 38 years old, he is already quite old, I do not know how much football is left in him anymore and I am feeling like it must be not a lot of it, so it wouldn't be weird if he retired.

This is very possible after seeing Liverpool's performance at the start of this season, they have really improved and are much better than last season, but winning the Europa League is not easy, in this competition there will be many surprises like what happened to Arsenal this season. Then, they are very strong in the domestic league but they can't go further in the Europa League, the same goes for Liverpool this season, indeed they are very favorites, but it's not easy.
Winning the title is not easy for any team even if they are favorites, that's true and I agree with you.
Liverpool is one of the favorite teams to win the Europa League title this season, but I can't predict for sure whether they will be able to reach the final or fail sooner in the knockout stages. Something like that is always possible as experienced by Manchester United and Arsenal last season.

Several teams that failed from the Champions League cannot be ignored. They tend to be stronger than the teams that qualify for the knockout stages and we don't yet know who Liverpool's opponents will be there even though Liverpool are leading the group stage standings so far.

Liverpool did face some problems in recent matches. But I think that is not going to be a big factor going into the next match. I think they will still manage to be able to win the next match against Everton. After all, Everton is really inconsistent right now. They have been inconsistent so far this season. And Everton Is somehow keeping themselves out of the relegation zone.

So I think if Everton can get one point from this match, it is going to make them feel like they got a win from this one. But on the other hand, if this is a draw, Liverpool will feel like they lost an opportunity to get three points from this match. And I don't believe that Liverpool will fail to get three points from this match, to be honest.
560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Still A P2P Electronic Cash System ?. on: October 15, 2023, 04:00:49 AM
In some way it's stil a p2p electronic cash, because nothing stops you from using it that way. But the current incentives push most users to view it as an investment rather than a payment method. There's not a lot of places that accept Bitcoin, and fees might get high sometimes, and price volatility means it's often better to wait for a more favorable price.

Bitcoin's value does not depend solely on its use as a currency. People could avoid using it as electronic cash at all, and it would still be valuable because storing value for long term is also an important property.

the high volatility factor is the major reason why most users are after for the investment side of bitcoin rather than as a payment method. however, some are already seeing this payment method as cheap and easy, especially those with cross-border payments. they don't need to use the traditional remittance centers which charge a hefty amount and the duration is quite long. so for me, this usage depends on the need of the person, whether he's looking for investment or a good payment method.

That's right, even if people turn bitcoin into an asset, bitcoin will not lose its P2P feature. I am a bitcoin investor and I hold most of my bitcoins with the goal of finding profits. But sometimes if I need to transfer money to another country, I will ask my partner or relative to use bitcoin instead of transacting from the banking system.

You're right, how bitcoin is used depends on each person's needs and each situation. Just because people consider it an investment doesn't mean it can't be used for payments or P2P transactions.
