Yep, no firmware at all available for the S3 currently on the Bitmain website ... wish they'd done that yesterday before I downloaded and bricked a miner Let's hope they are seriously getting down to re-writing a compliant release.

Any ideas on this problem please? ... One of my S3s won't load the 'miner status' tab on the web GUI, all other tabs can be accessed. This is what it displays: /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute cbi dispatcher target for entry '/admin/status/minerstatus'. The called action terminated with an exception: /usr/lib/lua/luci/controller/cgminer.lua:32: bad argument #1 to 'floor' (number expected, got string) stack traceback: [C]: in function 'assert' /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: in function 'dispatch' /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194> I have flashed to the latest firmware, and back again ... even restored an old backup. Whichever version is loaded into the miner gives the same error message on the miner status tab. Can't do a hard reset, as it doesn't seem to work ... hold down for 10 seconds or more ... the miner doesn't reset.

Anyone managed to get an sp31 past 4.9th?
Nope, 4.7th here ... the +/- 10% rule ... machines vary.

We're getting the SP20 tomorrow and I plan on using 2 CX750M's as well. Will it power an SP20 at the stock rate?
Yes, no problem, one of mine was running on two CX750Ms at full blast ... until I saw the light and under-clocked it.
|
|
|
Perhaps, adjusting power is easier for SP30-31, otherwise there are too many chips to individually adjust.
Yep, keep it simple ... always the best way.

hmm, i'd offer but i fear Devon is a tad of a long drive in this weather.
7 hrs 47 mins ... 461.3 miles apparently. The two SP20s I have underclocked also show a few yellow numbers but the stats cost per Ghs is good.

has a bunch of low volt ASICS, but it's still performing at 4.7TH/s... if i wanted to, I could gradually up the voltages and get them to sit green but as far as i'm concerned, there is no need - it's performing 200TH/s above advertised spec.
True ... I have SP30s at http://toom.im/ and a SP31 that show many yellow ASICS ... keep calm and mine on ... they work fine! ... not that I get 200Ghs over as you are. Need a drink ... single malt would do

Their hardware isn't perfect; it is only the best anyone has made.
Nicely put jtoomim.

I have one SP20 running at 597 Watts on the wall at 1160 gh/s.
Yes ... please post your settings and PSU(s) used ... sounds good.

I will run this over night due to the warning on the asics low freq .
Is this when the ASICS show yellow in color? A few of mine are, but the units are stable.

Ah yes ... spotted in the wild .. the SP62 ... very rare, if not unheard of ...

to me if i built it and sold it I would call it a 1500 gh miner.
Sponds do play the game of claiming the absolute highest hash rate for their kit (in ideal environments), and as we have seen it has fallen short sometimes when released. I say this having bought SP10s, SP30s a SP31 and now 2 SP20s ... many have been under 'spec' when powered and running (yes 240v). The SP10s have been the most consistent solid miners I have ever purchased ... flat line at 1.4Ths with no deviation for months. The SP20s clocked at full rate are also -10%, but to get best value you have to underclock (as this thread knows), and such easy clocking control is to their advantage in the GUI against others. Sponds have compensated when machines came in under spec, and their customer service is second to none. As ever, do your research, buy wisely and hash away.

Second question: anybody care to post the exact box size and weight for SP20, please?
Dogie just answered that ... and a lot more ... The shipped weight of an SP20 is 6.1kg, dimensions of the shipping box are 235 x 240 x 495mm. An unpacked SP20 weighs 5.0kg and measures 130 x 148 x 395mm. Nice review, as always Dogie.

Thanks, temps are pretty constant at 85c, so it's worth a go (Ambient is about 20c and will only get lower as winter digs in) I don't want to up the watts so I'll keep a close eye on them

I'm going to have a go at underclocking my two SP20s over the weekend, the results do look impressive.
Set my two SP20s over the weekend to your settings philipma: Fan Speed 40 Start Voltage 0.62 / 0.62 / 0.62 / 0.62 Max Voltage 0.67 Max Watts 180 / 180 / 180 / 180 They have settled down now, one hashing at 1289Ghs and the other at 1223Ghs ... I'm happy with that (and the sound level).

We need more voters, it's a rather close run poll right now ...

We are currently in the process of deploying our "Mass Miner Control" software with one of the larger players in the market who have similar machines. If you are a semi-large to enterprise farm, let us know if you are interested in access to a full automation tool. Err ... first post ... big farm ... some of us are a BIT smaller with our investments ....

Hi guys, SP20 runner here. My firmware tab has changed to: Current firmware version: 2.5.27 Latest available firmware version: 2.5.12 ? Seems my current firmware has gone from the list, is the latest firmware a downgrade or an upgrade? Peace Odd, I'm not near my SP20s right now, but the Sponds Technical blog says (dated 11th November, which is a good few days ago): Version 2.5.12Version 2.5.12 became the official, 2.5.6 removed and 2.5.13 is the latest experimental. 2.5.12 - different handling of BIST and Murata flow - improves stability. 2.5.13 - sets default (after factory reset) values to 1275/288 in SP3x/SP2x. Redirection bug fixed. Handling of ambient temperatures lower then 0c added. How you got to .27 I don't know

philipma,
Only just found this thread earlier, read it all the way through ... very helpful, thank you.
I'm going to have a go at underclocking my two SP20s over the weekend, the results do look impressive.
Got a Corsair AX1500i for one of them, so will probably emulate and add an S3 to it as well.
