201  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trouble with Trezor model T on: December 21, 2022, 09:11:10 PM
I am not sure if it makes sense for so small screen, but developers could implement kind of 'calibration' function, like it was in the past in some smartphones with touch screens. Some people put their finger with a different angle etc. and pressed point could be different than expected (or you think that you press at given place while in fact you touch screen few pixels left/right) - that could cause you press wrong number.
And small screen may cause the calibration difficult, but on the other hand small screen makes pin number very small, so it easier to press the wrong number.

202  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do nodes share their mempool with each other? on: December 21, 2022, 12:38:59 PM
When a new node connects to the network, other nodes start to share new transactions with this new node they got. But do they share their mempool, when a node disconnects from the network for some time for example? I think that the mempool size is too large and it would be difficult to share their mempool state, but maybe I'm wrong...

Think about it that way - transaction could be unconfirmed (is stored in the mempool) or confirmed (kept in block chain). Each new transaction must be populated  and known to other nodes - otherwise miners would not be aware given transaction exists and will not be able to include it in their mined blocks.

Why do you think mempool is 'too large' to be synchronised?
203  Other / Off-topic / Re: Monty Hall Paradox on: December 21, 2022, 10:41:09 AM
I scrolled up in my Facebook page then suddenly saw this video about gambling film. Out of curiosity, I search if black jack is beatable and idea to win in Gambling.

So I tried to research something till I found out the Monty Hall Paradox. Basically, this paradox was came up right after the American TV show named "Let's make a deal".

Yes, I know that paradox. In other words, it is based on fact that you have 2/3 chances of selecting 'wrong' box, and then the change is profitable, as one of 'wrong' boxes are eliminated. Tricky to understand at the beginning, but it works Wink
And it is maybe not the matter of your chances 'at that moment', but that in 66% of situations the chance makes sense.

I am paying 4,39€ for my VPS. 2 virtual cores, 2GB RAM and 100 GB SSD. And 5€ per Month for Mullvad VPN. Never heard of KVM or OpenVZ before. Interesting. I'll ask my hosting provider what they use out of interest.

Having VPS you should be able to use VPN like Strongswan which has thousands of users and support is quite good. The only problem you may have is configuration of VPS on your provider side, as it may block forwarding. Usually it is not a big problem and if you work with 'people' with whom you may talk, not just machines which produce 'tickets' for customers' requests, the problem should be solvable.

205  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to play poker with crypto ? on: December 20, 2022, 08:06:04 PM
Crypto poker places are miles away from fiat poker places.

As I wrote, looks like Icopress and Cygan are preparing something for poker players, we will see how many interested players there will be. Smiley Many people here talk about poker, but when it comes to playing we don't see a lot of action...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5279745.msg61413895#msg61413895

Oh, I missed that. Thanks!
But I am not sure if they talk about one-time event or something more regular (or even the full-time site). Anyway, can't wait for that!

Coinplay
 Lucky Block
 CoinPoker
 BC.Game
 Cloudbet
 Winz.io
 BetOnline
 Bitslot
 Fortune Jack
 Bovada
 Chipstars
 Black Chip Poker
 Jazz Sports
 MyStake
 Nitrobetting

I have a feeling that sites attract 'random' people, not really focused on poker.
206  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: December 20, 2022, 08:03:05 PM
Warning: Do not play at Betnomi. They extortion people and they pay the staff from Bitcointalk to save their reputation.
This is a fraud organisation. STAY AWAY

This just an opinion. Do you have any evidence which would convince anyone that you are saying true are that betnomi is an evil organisation? Or maybe you just lost some money on their site and you are tilted?

It was one of those matches, where you will never want to bet. I know those who bet on that match, they must be feeling tense the whole duration of the match as there was no one team whom we could say favorite to team and it was anyone's game.

World Cup gave us many emotions, sometimes positive, many times negative surprises. The final was a really good show, but that's past now. I only hope we will not have to wait too long for another event like that (but the most probably we will have to, as we are in the middle of winter).

Anyway, December's crypto price betting comes to end this week and as we are still under influence of negative news, I think we cannot expect any significant increase of price. Last week we crossed 18k, but it was just for a few moments...

And what logs says?

Code:
tail -f .bitcoin/debug.log

On the other hand - is .cookie file created? Did you try to connect to server using that file instead of hardcoded password?

It was a great great game, well deserved victory for Argentina! I do not regret I bet on France, I have lost but show was great.

Just like AC Milan - Liverpool game in Champions League finals in 2005 (Miracle of Istanbul), with penalties and great role of Liverpool goalkeeper Dudek.
It was only because of Argentina goalkeeper that they are World Champions today.

Yes, partially. Do you remember the movie "White Men Can't Jump"? After that World Cup I would say "Black Men Can't Execute Penalties".
Overall it was a very good game, it had all we expect to have from a good sport show. Final odds on freebitco (1.38 - 1.81) are not bad too, almost 40% gain on Argentina... well well well...

Blacks do not know how to shoot penalties, they lack that skill. It was an easy task for Argentina, especially they have so good goalkeeper.
The same was Argentina - Netherlands few days ago (Argentina won 4-3).

But Argentina lost lot of power during these 120minutes, France was much better prepared physically.

Messi finally got it . . But great game it was.

Indeed. It reminded me Liverpool - Ac MilanChampions League final in Turkey in 2005, with penalties and great Dudek (MVP) savings.

Widzieliście jak dobrze działa binance FUD?

https://www.binance.com/pl/feed/post/53973
"In response to the collapse of FTX, Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has released details of its cold wallet reserves, disclosing proof of digital asset holdings worth more than $69 billion."

France consistently getting to the top might be a clue, I would guess Argentina has the greater impetus but that doesn't mean they achieve it.  Consistency is always where I will lean and place my bet, if I can decide which side has been the most solid in their performance and defence not just the peaks but correcting themselves during play I would have to go with them as most likely winner.

I agree with you, I have also just placed my bet on France. "Consistency" is a keyword, I do not think Argentina & Messi will be able to stop them. 2:1?

5 days left for December crypto price betting - it looks like we cannot leave the trend we are in for weeks, so I guess there will not be any bigger movement.
219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Fake Cryptocurrency Applications Serving as Front for AppleJeus Malware on: December 17, 2022, 02:36:48 PM
If any of you used or plan to use BloxHolder (bloxholder.com) there is a serious risk of losing funds. Tool seems to be connected to Lazarus Group.

Further technical analysis of the deployed AppleJeus malware uncovered a new variation of DLL side-loading. Really, really tricky.

It's quite good to bet on p2p style, but for this game it looks like what people think is not what I think Cheesy. That is good, because the more they spend their money on one side, the more money I will be able to make from the other side.

If you compare odds on freebitco with the ones on other 'real' sites, managed by house, you will see that there are many differences. Sometimes it makes betting on freebitco not attractive at all (of course if you look at odds only, not on fact that you spend and win BTC, not FIAT). Even recently someone posted example where odds on freebitco were much lower than on other booking sites.
And of course you never know if 5 minutes before betting closes all the odds not change as some whales place their bets.
