201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 22, 2017, 11:51:18 AM
guys I have opened ticket 5 days ago on their support but I still don't get any response... Any idea how I can push this issue? I want to send the missing amount to be order marked as Paid finally...

I'm at 7 weeks now.

I was curious about the status on one of my orders last night and decided to call Bitmain's hotline (+86-400-890-8855). I chose option 2 for English and then waited for the automated recording that was telling me something about how I should submit a support ticket online. Then it started giving me more options. I selected 1 for Sales. I was immediately greeted in Chinese by a woman and I asked if she spoke English - which she did. I have her my order number and she was able to confirm that everything was good and preparing for shipping.

If you guys want faster help, please give this method a try.

No, the first batch for the D3 will be shipped to customers between September 15-25.

Hi Guys
I spend some time reading all information on this topic - I would like to ask a serious question and your honest opinions about my situation with DASH.
I bought D3 from re-seller from FIRST batch for 10.000$.

Do you guys think there is a chance to get ROI by the end of they year ?

Should I try to renegotiate the deal with re-seller?
- If yes what arguments should I use when trying to beat the price a bit
- I know he paid 2.5K$ to bitmain and will have to pay import taxes etc.

I got the feeling that 10K$ wont be possible to get from it from end of Sept to end of DEC and I just wondering what should be the reasonable price which I can try to negotiate with him.

Many Thanks for any help...

I think there's a decent chance that you will earn back your $10k as long as you receive yours immediately. I don't think it will happen by December though. Probably Jan/Feb.

guys make sure when you are paying to check "pay all fee`s (sender&receiver). have fun

Most banks don't offer this option.

Woe is me...

I hope you get everything resolved - I would also be upset if everything you say is true.

BITMAIN, HERE IS MY OFFER TO YOU:

Send me 1.0 BTC; I will cancel my order.  I will remove every anti-Bitmain post I've made on this and numerous other websites, and the Bitmain support site.  You will never hear from me again, and I will never say another word about Bitmain.  Maybe you're too busy to send me what I paid for, but you're not too busy to send over some coin.

That is the easiest and fastest way I can think of to resolve this.

Heh, you're free to say all the bad things you want about Bitmain. If you honestly had a bad experience, then it is your duty and right to say so. I've just had such a different experience than you and therefore find myself defending them. Financially, it would actually benefit me for people to believe Bitmain doesn't deliver since I happen to be a seller on Amazon. Many of our customers don't trust Bitmain and would prefer to purchase from someone else who is taking the risk with shipping from a far away company that is relatively unreachable. I have no desire for you to remove your posts - I simply seek to educate you in regards to what actually happens for most of Bitmain's customers.

Ps, they just sold out of the D3 again.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 19, 2017, 03:04:32 PM
Misunderstanding...

Bitmain always takes a long time to confirm payments. Their payment confirmation system does not seem to be automated. The "expired" and "invalid" messages are not relevant. This is a communication issue, not a reliability issue. What you're observing is a bunch of first time buyers who haven't dealt with this before. Those who have purchased before know that Bitmain eventually corrects the order form - usually 2-3 days later. This obviously needs improvement and freaks a lot of people out, but does not make Bitmain a bad company.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 19, 2017, 02:41:06 PM
Bitmain has jumped the shark.  Maybe they used to be a reputable company but now they're just outright crooks.  They take your money, do not ship product...

Sigh...
You must be new here. I'm far from unbiased, but your ignorance is appalling and should be addressed. I have ordered hundreds of times from Bitmain along with thousands of other people and they have never scammed me a single time. They ship on-time 99% of the time or earlier and they compensated customers the few times they had delays. They're practically the Amazon of the mining ASIC world. Their communication is certainly lacking, but they are far from crooks. You must have forgotten how many real crooks there were in 2013/2014 when 4/5 companies failed to deliver.

...and then alternate between ignoring you entirely and spamming you to buy other products from them.

I wish they would spam people about their products. Most people here complain that they don't give enough notice and then sell out nearly instantly.

You can try to buy a D3 on their site now, but they'll probably just take your money and laugh knowing you won't come to China to do anything about it..

Probably!? Why on Earth would they shoot themselves in the foot after successfully launching dozens of products before this? They became the biggest by proving their trustworthiness when others couldn't. There's no reason to suspect the D3 will be any different.

Jihan Wu and his band of thieves are terrible human beings, the absolute worst.  I hope they all die in a fire.

It's not like they have ever forced anyone to purchase their products and they have never even suggested that these devices were profitable. Sounds like you have some emotional angst towards Jihan personally. It makes you look petty and insecure. Are you sure you're not just being salty about something else? I've never met the man, but I have nothing but admiration for Jihan and what he has accomplished.

I think I finally know why Bitmain is releasing so many. They want to stomp on Dash price to make it look poor relative to Bitcoin. Doing so would bring more people to Bitcoin, thus boosting Bitmains own bitcoin stash.  Jihan must have thought this through.
Why would the number of sold miners affect Dash price?
More miners -> more coins being produced and sold -> lower Dash price.
More miners has ZERO effect on how many coins are produced.
More miners = more DIFFICULTY, not more coins.
Yes, Dash mean more miners, less Dash. Dash has a dynamic block reward.

210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: August 18, 2017, 01:01:05 PM

Heh, no. I'm using ProHashing to auto-convert all of the mined altcoins into litecoin. I end up with more than 1 litecoin per day per L3+. Seriously - do yourself a favor and investigate this for yourself. Here's a video I made that includes a 24-hour side by side test: https://youtu.be/e07eW6-rBPI

Help me help you 😉

Do you use any parameters/password arguments?

The only password parameter I send to ProHashing is for naming the miner. In the video, I set the name to "208" (n=208) to match the last octet of the local IP address.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 18, 2017, 05:35:56 AM
This could send the price of Dash up actually, Price is already at $240, would not be surprized if it reaches $400 plus by the end of the year. You have to remember the price could rise when doing your calculations guys, this will intern mean quicker ROI. I strongly believe this will happen...

While it's technically true that one will "ROI" in terms of $USD faster if the price increases, I respectfully disagree that one should take price fluctuations of the underlying cryptocurrency into account when forecasting ROI. Mining ultimately boils down to this question: Will one end up with more coins by mining than one could have purchased for the same amount of money? If the answer is no, then it would make a lot more sense to simply purchase the coins and hold them. It is my opinion that the D3 (in all released batches) will mine a greater number of Dash coins (after electricity expenses) than could have been bought for the same amount and therefore I have purchased the miner.

Anybody know why the l3+ seems to be keeping such a good return on hashrate $50+ a day

I presume you're mining with ProHashing or some other auto-profit switching pool. We're seeing an average of $51/day as well. Lots of people are just mining litecoin and throwing away 50% of their potential profits.

I didn't think those websites were legitimate where it switches what you mine based on profits. ProHashing is a good one you say? Very interesting.

Up until a while ago I was under the assumption that the L3+ could only mine Litecoins.

if you thinking about future of Litecoin, it will profitable for you, because if LTC rate will increase then it will x0.5 or double, so keeping of Ltc is most profitable

Edit: I failed to mention that I'm slightly overclocking mine to 400Mhz (384 is the default).

More miners -> more coins being produced and sold -> lower Dash price.

This is a common misconception - as more miners come online, the mining difficulty increases automatically to ensure that the number of coins being generated remains the same.

Looking for Ant Miner D3(First or second Batch), if any one can provide some information on re seller of these miners that would be really helpful.
Thakns

We'll have some from batches 1/2/3/4 on our Amazon store. The D3 will not show up until September 1st when we activate the listing. Pricing has not yet been determined. Please note, we only ship to locations within the United States from our facility in Michigan.

With a 3 month lead time before November, I suspect Bitmain is just opening the flood gates and doesn't have a preset number to sell out of. The available quantity from the late November batch is possibly infinite and purely time-based. After all, they have the time to ramp up production and can purchase however many chips they need given the time-frame.

Has anyone noted the rise in difficulty between 15/Jul and 15/Aug? It's almost 3x!

https://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/dash-difficulty-chart

Assuming another doubling by 15/Sep and again by 15/Nov etc?  Oct/Nov batch ROI will be pushed back significantly I assume.

Probably better to wait for next gen X11 miner...

So far it's probably JUST the IBeLink DM11G units pushing the hashrate - but by the end of October when most of the currently sold but not yet shipped Bitmain D3 units are shipped installed and running, we're looking at a LOT more than a "doubling".

Then the A5 (and probably more D3 and some DM22G) units start hitting.... I'd BET on network hashrate exceeding 200 TH by the end of the year, and would not be shocked by 300-400 TH.

I'm not sure what that works out to in difficulty as a number, but I'm sure it will be 5-10 TIMES what it is now by the end of October and likely double again by the end of the year.

You will be very Naive in thinking that Bitmain is not mining with D3 right now (probably in the name on testing)and same with all other companies as no one in their Right mind sell a Money printing machine without using it. I hope that explains the sudden increase in difficulty.
I am sure it wont increase as much.

This is right. Bitmain and the other companies are going to get their coins first. It's called a "routine test".  Grin

I'm sure you're right, but the entire global Dash hashrate is only equal to ~1300 D3s, and you know that at LEAST half of that is from other devices - so even if they are "testing", they can't have more than 600 devices operational at this point (probably far fewer).
