201  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the owner of this bitcoin forum? on: February 20, 2023, 02:53:00 PM
Is there a reason why the website layout is "retro" and has stayed the same since the early 2010s?
To maintain the legacy. Just like "once the version 0.1 of bitcoin was released, the core design was set in stone for the rest of its lifetime". Wink

Not saying the layout is bad or anything I kinda like it ngl, it is a little bright though haha  Grin
There's a thread created about dark mode, you'll have to get some add-on extension in your chrome browser and you may access the site in dark mode as well.

Update: Coinomize sig. campaign is now CFNP again as stated by julerz12 below.

We are now full.

The campaign is PAUSED for now. You are free to remove the signature and avatar. If the campaign ever resumes, current participants will have the advantage but nothing is guaranteed.
204  Economy / Services / Re: 🚧[OPEN] [banned mixer] | Bitcoin Mixer | Signature Campaign ~ Up to $130/week on: February 20, 2023, 08:25:43 AM
We are waiting for the update of the spreadsheet file for the payout!
No worries, the manager maybe got some busy moments.
We also expect that in coming days there will be more slots opening to get more publicity for Coinomize.
As julerz stated earlier, there will be 2 open slots every week. Also, just noticed that the title of OP got changed from CFNP to OPEN. Maybe you could apply soon after the manager update. Seems like he just came online.

I'm not sure why I would be wanting respect from a btc community,
If mods/admins start to change usernames of all the ppl who request, it will create heck of a confusion between all to differentiate, coz you will have daily scammers trying to scam  other newbies by changing their usernames quietly. I know its not your intention but still.

I would literally receive nothing in return.
You are new thats why you dont know but with time you'll understand what respect can give you in this forum. Wink
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've invested around 450 dollars into bitcoin so far and I am 16 years old on: February 19, 2023, 05:47:43 AM
do u know how to change username haha
Its not possible for you. Some old members have been successful in changing their username by PM'ing theymos and Cyrus regularly.
However theres no chance they will listen to a brand new account. So your best bet would be to make a new one Smiley
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've invested around 450 dollars into bitcoin so far and I am 16 years old on: February 19, 2023, 04:18:00 AM
Good job young man. Consider yourself lucky to even know about bitcoin at such a young age. I suggest you to keep and store your btc in a secure self custodial wallet like electrum, bluewallet, mycelium. You can use exchanges to buy more BTCs but never store them there since "not your keys, not your coins". Good luck on your future ventures!
211  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How the rising trend in CPI will affect Bitcoin price in short to medium term? on: February 19, 2023, 03:26:51 AM
This was the first time where CPI (Consumer price index) data came in higher than ppl's expectations and the bitcoin market still went up, despite the us30 going downwards. Personally, Im very excited to see the price action in the upcoming months. I believe slowly we can stop reacting to these CPI data very soon either bullish or bearish. The crypto market is learning to adapt to the change and survive just like it did in the past years.

215  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange with cheapest fees on: February 18, 2023, 04:07:20 AM
Binance: 0,70$ withdrawal fees to bank account, zero fees on BTC/fiat pairs exchanges;
Among all, binance is the best and most trusted one as well (least chance of running away with your funds). And btw, you can make everything free on binance if you use their p2p method for transferring fiat to your bank account. Im using it myself, and believe me I never had any issues, just use trusted sellers/buyers with good feedbacks.
Alternatively, kucoin and bybit are also secure exchanges and allows some sort of non-KYC withdrawals if privacy is your concern but still binance is above all despite having kyc.
216  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Connecting my Electrum wallet to my MyNode on: February 18, 2023, 03:58:56 AM
Did you try the steps given by official mynode github ?
https://mynodebtc.github.io/electrum/electrum.html
Also, check if your electrum wallet is synced fully. You should be able to find enable server tab in mynode homepage. After doing all the steps, you may restart everything and check again. Green light should appear.
217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If it was you on: February 17, 2023, 12:28:17 PM
I'd go spot trading, even though you do have the experience and know the stuff on trading it doesn't mean you have to do future trading for bigger profit.
But if you got the experience and know about the breakout/breakdown levels then why not ? I'd say go 80/20 on spot and futures respectively. Yeah I understand that futures trading is risky but it is extremely rewarding as well. Speaking from my own expirience, just have a sl in mind (never change it once set) and avoid futures on the news based days/events (like cpi data, fomc meetings, etc.) and you should be just fine. Just gotta learn to control greed in any type of trading.
218  Other / Meta / Re: Dark mode on Bitcointalk on: February 17, 2023, 04:53:12 AM
I was scrolling around on my Telegram with dark mode.
Just to let you know, telegram got a dark mode and a night mode. Try night mode, it is better than the first one.

Is there a way to add dark mode to the forum?
Since many users already suggested you the ways, I'd prefer you to use the mode suggested by @Bitcoin_Arena, it looks perfectly black (best for night usage too), while @LeGaulois's suggested mode gives you a bit dark grayish background screen if you observe it carefully.
219  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Suspicious Activity (papundekli22) on: February 17, 2023, 04:18:29 AM
My question is don't you set a restriction on the account that is eligible to receive loan from you?
If yes then you just have to ignore such users since you have already sets your restrictions
It is better to make a public thread about potential scammers and let them get tagged by more ppl so that other newbies dont fall for the same scam.

I believe you have your rules and regulations so if he or she doesn't meet your requirements then you or even violate the rules the best option is to formally put such user on the ignore list.
Putting such users on ignore list doesnt help anyone. Everyone should be constantly made aware to not deal with these type of users by actively monitoring their activity and warning others. The forum will be a much better place if we get more of such scambusters. I am usually on the side of ignoring spammers, not scammers.
220  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance suspends withdrawl on: February 17, 2023, 03:00:32 AM
First, there is SWIFT, then Paxos, what's next?
Both are very different cases. Paxos case is related to busd but its not that BUSD usage is banned. Ppl still using it for getting discount on their trades.

Or rather than waiting for it just convert everything to BTC and have it stored way SAFU than on a Cex.
There are ppl who cant handle the volatility of BTC, so they have to keep their part of money in stables. Btw, the word SAFU which you are talking about was invented by the same CEX's ceo (cz_binance) himself Tongue . Although I agree cexes are not safe but binance should give us time to withdraw before any major ban occurs in the future. It is one of the safest and most regulated cex out there. Smiley
