2001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 08, 2022, 10:40:46 AM

I don't even know what to say after watching the replay. He was given the full length to rest and yet he says he cannot fight anymore. While on the other hand, it should be Casimero who should be saying that.
Boxing management should take a closer look at this event.
Anyway, this is another disappointment for him. He had not been in a match for so long and now it ended in a no-contest fight.
How much time will it take again before he can get into another fight? I bet it will be long and clocks ticking for him as he is not getting any younger.

Casimero, as we know him, he always put his all in each fight that he will be engaged. We all see how the fight goes and that decision from the ref and officials. We might not have that early conclusion, but with how social media works now, the chance that the decision might be changed is really possible.

If the pressures from the fans will continue and with the power of social media, the organization may step forward and review the outcome. For now, Casimero needs to wait for his camp to negotiate and find another fight.

With his performance, he's comfortable and his winning chance from this new division is high.

They should because they will lose their credibility if they will always be criticized by the fans. The world is watching, and some of the fans are already educated about the rules of boxing, so they cannot escape from us if they will try to rig the fight. About this specific fight, Casimero might have hit Akaho on the back of the head but they should have given him a warning and will not allow Akaho to take the drama, but since I'm just a fan, I would just share my thoughts.

A fan who had a good point on their recent fight, we all have the same view about what happened and I'd say that Casimero was really robbed of his win just because Ryo Akaho's unprofessionalism. A warning is the correct verdict at first because if we look closely, it wasn't a direct hit nor did Casimero intentionally did that and the referee should thought about it well before he declared the fight as a "no contest".

Just sad to see Casimero given this verdict because he had prepared for this fight for months and put all his efforts to get his name through the ranks in the super bantamweight. All those efforts and time just to fight a selfish boxer who haven't had the face to admit that he lost the fight because Casimero is too good for him. I bet he is now heavily criticized in Japan because of the move he made.

Yes, hopefully the Japanese officials will be looking on this issue because the Akaho-Casimero incident will reflect in their boxing community. It's really quite unfair for Casimero's side, hopefully Akaho will get what he deserved for pulling that kind of stunt. On the bright side, Casimero made an evident message that he is indeed back and healthy. For this one, I expect that he will surface again somewhere early next year and have another fight.
2002  Economy / Economics / Re: 5 things you should not do with your money to get rich on: December 06, 2022, 04:09:51 PM
If we want to get rich...then stop thinking about saving and look for an opportunity to grow our money and that is to keep investing. When I say investment, it should be put in a profitable investment, not elsewhere. Many people had fail to grow their money even though they have investments and that is because they also change their lifestyle instantly.

It is supposed to be this way;
 - more investment - the same lifestyle

Yes, I'm with you on that mate. Saving in a bank or something like that is nonsense because that is already considered as dead money and there are a lot of chances that we will just tap that savings to spend on some things that we might regret later. Might as well put those same funds to a much useful way like investments so that the money will circulate and will give us passive income even we're still sleeping.
2003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: December 06, 2022, 03:42:29 PM
No Contest result for Casimero but for us, he is the winner if just Akaho will not acted strangely and continue to fight.

It is obvious that Akaho was hurt, it is just a matter of time on that round to putting Akaho on his knee but the referee to the rescue.  Another thing, if that was a true illegal blow, they could have made the ringside physician look at Akaho asap, but it took them several minutes to do so making me think that is indeed one of the plans of the officiating official to save Akaho when a thing like that happens.

Let's not go in that discussion because if we say that the officiating officials are unfair and they favored Akaho, then we would've also said in general that Japanese officials in boxing organization are unprofessional. We know that they are not like that as they are the most professional people we know as it's on their culture already not to cheat or something like that. Let's just say that Akaho was the one who is unprofessional and scared to add defeats on his record that is why he decided to have that act that give embarrassment to the whole Japanese boxing community. I'd say that they aren't letting that one slide and will investigate about it.

Who is to blame then? I know it's not a Japanese trait but it's clear that those involved are doing shit on that match.

You can't blame others if they thought something bad about how the fight turned out.

Akaho is a disgrace, and so are the officials and referess there. They are putting a negative image on the whole Japanese community.

I go to that direction, Akaho's act and the officiating bodies who handle that fight is a disgrace to the entire Japanese community, I'm sure after this fight there would be reviews and corresponding actions to avoid things like this to happen, if Casimero won't get any change in that particular decision he might get a good fight after this incident.

He still has that caliber and a big threat to this division, with the hype happen to that last fight for sure he will gain additional attention
good still for him to bring another fight and maybe a good money fight.

Well, what can I say? Ryo Akaho really put a bad image to the entire boxing community of Japan and yes, I do agree, the boxing community might set him as an example so that there would be no other boxers who will try to pull this kind of stunt and in that way, the disgrace that Akaho did won't reflect much to the entire community.

About Casimero, people already know that he still have the traits to be the champion and can still give struggles to the existing champions. I do hope he can get another fight somewhere in the 1st quarter of 2023 because people and fans are unsatisfied with that fight.
2004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: December 06, 2022, 02:52:08 PM
Beterviev is not that a trash talker as well, at least not what we typically see in American boxer.

This Russian just mean business in the ring, just like Bivol and then after the fight that's where you gonna here them talk about how fighting the other boxer feels like. And probably the best trash talking that you can hear is that they didn't feel the power, hehehe.

That's true! Just look at Beterbiev, he really do behaves a lot like Bivol, Kovalev and his other fellow Russian boxers. Always smiling in front of the camera without giving some nasty words to their foes but when it comes inside the ring, they are indeed straight as an arrow to finish what needs to be done.

In this fight, Anthony Yarde is so confident that he will be the one to stop the Russian's KO streak and will give his first defeat, for which I'm curious to know how will he do that because I don't think there's someone right now who can really defeat the current Beterbiev. If there's someone who can give at least hardship to Beterbiev, it might be his other fellow, Bivol.
2005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: December 06, 2022, 08:36:14 AM

For now, let's wait for the result of this match that's already predictable by 99.9%.
We already know who might win in their upcoming fight but let's see if Butler prepared a hidden strategy that can beat the monster.

At least give Butler 1% chance of winning as a sign of respect, saying 99.9% chance for Inoue, that only gives Butler 0.01% chance. I know upset happens in boxing, but just like guys, I don't see it happening because Inoue are just too good for Butler.

So you are saying that I'm disrespecting Butler? Wake up mate, we are just stating facts here.

Not because I'm not giving any chance for Butler to win, it does mean that I'm not respecting him.

Ok, I will give Butler a 1% chance to win so that you will see me respecting him. Cheesy

Whoa! Easy guys, keep your cool. Grin

I know we are all rooting for the same boxer here not just because we idolize him but because we all know the facts and what is the real stand between these two boxers that are fighting for the undisputed title. Even if we say that Paul Butler have a maximum of 10% chance, that still leaves Inoue a 90% and we all know what's gonna happen next.
2006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were the government, how would you fight against bitcoin? on: December 06, 2022, 08:02:12 AM
If I were the government, why would I fight against bitcoin if I can always take advantage of the good things it can possibly do to my country. Embracing it and adopting it while learning from it will be huge leap towards success and this fighting against bitcoin is purely nonsense. For me, it's like your putting your own people to prison because you are blocking their rights. India and China have their own set of reasons why they are fighting against it and banning all sorts that is connected to bitcoin, one of those reasons are bitcoin is still an unexplored water for them (which is true) and they cannot really control it because of its nature that is decentralized.
2007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 06, 2022, 07:37:05 AM
And that one time that he cannot sink the ball to the rim but got the offensive rebound and dunk it in front of Gafford and KP then jerked the damn rim and stared down on the two defenders. A great display of strength that probably boosted the confidence of the Lakers team.

We have changes in the NBA Kia MVP ladder.
https://www.nba.com/news/kia-mvp-ladder-dec-2-2022-edition
1. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics - from number 2
2. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks - from number 1
3. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets - from number 3
4. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks - from number 4
5. Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns - from number 7
If AD keeps up his monster games, we will see him in the top 10 soon. (I think he is the top player in the last 10 games)
Yes, I think Tatum has a good chance to win if the Celtics will continue it's run. There are a lot of sports analyst mentioning his name so I'm not surprised that he moves in the top spot, still young like Luka but deserves to where he is. And he is the the reason why the Celtics is where they are right now. So good luck to them.

As for AD, he suddenly wakes up from a long slumber, lol, numbers is good, confidence is high and Lebron is holding the team together with his play making and crucial decision making in the finals stretch. WB too is contributing, might not be as good as his previous numbers, but still those points and assists help them a lot in their run.

So here's the latest NBA MVP ladder for the season 22-23:
1. Nikola Jokic - Nuggets
2. Luka Doncic - Mavericks
3. Jayson Tatum - Celtics
4. Giannis Antetokounmpo - Bucks
5. Devin Booker - Suns
6. Stephen Curry - Warriors
7. Anthony Davis - Lakers
8. Donovan Mitchell - Cavaliers
9. Kevin Durant - Nets
10. Domantas Sabonis - Kings
https://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/mvp.html

As we all know, this MVP ladder is updating every single week and it's not surprising that Anthony Davis's name has surfaced on the list after his good productions and their team, the Lakers, has been impressive as well for having a 8-2 run in the last 10 games. Together with Davis's name, Sabonis also appeared in the top 10 in the expense of Ja Morant and Jaylen Brown.

2009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: December 05, 2022, 04:01:26 PM

I think there will be no rematch because, according to Nonito Donaire[1], Akaho is already planning to retire after his fight against Casimero.

Good thing he realized that he cannot handle powerful punches anymore, but Donaire is always better than him because although it was clear that he can't carry the punches of Inoue, but still he choose to continue, this guy (AKaho) choose to make excuses and the result was in his favor.

Well, he really should. People won't be happy anymore having him on the ring with this kind of history he just made, he should be embarrassed of himself for pulling that kind of stunt and for robbing someone a supposed win instead of facing his consequence that Casimero was far beyond his limits. That he way, he could have retire with a peaceful mind and with respect from the industry.
2010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A single alt coin which gives you profit multiple times? on: December 05, 2022, 03:24:18 PM
I often benefit from BNB. I bought it right before the Launchpad announcement on binance. and at that time the price was still very low. so when Binance announced that there would be a Launchpad, of course the price went up quickly. as everyone started buying BNB to get on Launchpad. i have done it at least 2 times. and 2 times in a row I get big profits.

Yes, same here. BNB is one of the few altcoins that is included on my portfolio and not even once, it haven't disappointed me because it brought me huge profits since I acquired it. Until this very day, I'm still hodling this coin and acquiring more just like what I have on my portfolio when I have the chance while it's still selling at a discounted price and while hoping to see the market skyrocketing soon.
2011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When You Heard About Bitcoin For the First Time? on: December 05, 2022, 03:08:41 PM
I learned about bitcoin through a random advertisement while playing online games. It says something about earning free money, after that, I searched about cryptocurrency and tried different faucets where I earned a decent amount of satoshi. I learned about it way back in 2013 however, I became interested in it when I joined this forum. I wish I could've invested more money when I first knew about bitcoin, the price of BTC during that time is just around $500.

I don't remember exactly when or where I encountered bitcoin, I also earned bitcoins through faucets and bitcoin bonus games. In 2012 and 2013, when the price of bitcoin was not too high, joining the faucets, we received a lot of bitcoin, not less like today.

Not only you, I believe many people regret like you for not investing much in bitcoin at the time. However, I think few people believed fully in bitcoin at that time since the future of bitcoin was uncertain and we regret seeing the development of bitcoin today. If given the opportunity to go back to the past and forget about the present, I believe we would never have invested in bitcoin at that time.

I first heard bitcoin from my uncle way back 2015 but I wasn't interested at that time because it was still too gibberish for me and I'm too indulged to do earthly things at the heigh of my teenager life. Only got interested last 2017 and that's was the start of my bitcoin career, if only we could get back at those times.

But I do agree, even if we had the same opportunity and had the chance to go back time, we still have the same response and won't still give bitcoin a chance to prove itself because I believe 2015 was the height of scams and pyramid schemes, so I don't really blame people if they look at the bitcoin as one of said scams/schemes.
2012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First time of owning bitcoin on: December 05, 2022, 02:29:17 PM
The first time I had bitcoin was around 2013, I had my first job I bought a little. I remember being too excited about it, I watch the market price most of the time and watch my investment go up and down. It's a mixed emotion since I know little about bitcoin during that time and I had to do my own research since I don't know anyone who knows about bitcoin during that time. As time goes by I found a group of people who shares the same interest and that group led me to this forum. Now I share my knowledge about cryptocurrency to those who are interested in it and those who are asking me questions about it.

What can I say? This is the exact same thing that happened to me, only the difference is I acquired bitcoin a little too late sometime in 2017. I really smiled when I read this because this really happened to me too, I was so excited when I had my first acquisition and kept on looking at the market to see if the price did goes up or down, I just can't contain myself to refrain those things. Eventually, I get used to it and things started to go back to normal where I don't look at the market frequently. But yes, that first time was really unforgettable.
2013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2022, 01:52:09 PM
We cannot deny that Davis is prone to injury, and even if he is one of the greatest players but he is still part of the team, and we know what would happen to the Lakers if he gets injured again. The Lakers just gambled for Davis and traded their young players for him, and why would the Pelicans trade him? That's because of the said issue, he is prone to injury.

There was one time that the Lakers won the championship because Davis was healthy at that time, but in the succeeding seasons, it was all struggle for the Lakers as Davis was injured most of the time.

This season, Davis is quite healthy, so let's hope he'll stay that way.
Well, I also share this kind of view. AD was one of the standout players of previous NBA seasons, I believe that in the current scenario he is still an important player for the Lakers, and that depending on his situation, he could be a key player for the team, along with other players, such as e.g. LJ, Beverley, Schröder, Westbrook and others
I believe that in the future the Lakers team will be able to have a significant improvement in the season if they continue with this performance.

Yes, Anthony Davis is indeed an important player and the key to the team's success. We already saw their situation when he wasn't around for the team and as long as Anthony Davis will remain healthy, the Lakers really got a decent shot to grab their own seat on the playoffs this season. In his last 10 games alone, he looks like he was carrying the team on his back gathering humungous points per game, and earlier he again scored 55 points and 17 rebs as they finished the Wizards on the road.
2014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 04, 2022, 03:17:45 PM
Right, by now we know what Davis can really bring to the Lakers, specially when he was in a rampage and the statistics that he has put in that 5 game stretch if I'm not mistaken. But they can't totally depend on him, because admit it or not, he is very fragile that a simple fail or just going to get the ball or even helping his team mates to stand up might result in pulled muscle or injuries.

So as a coach, Ham should experiment with different combination, sort of testing everything when Davis is on the bench.

To get a feel and see who works inside an who doesn't.
Well said and I agree with it. The Lakers team should always prepare about what may happen in the future as Davis's had a bad history of sudden injuries which will leave them hanging again. Lebron is also in the stage of that as he is getting older.
Next will be Westbrook to lead the team, Schroder to back him up and Reaves to be the next playmaker if Russ will let it.
They have a lot of young players too, give them more minutes to gain more experience on a well-lighted floor. They may be good at practice but it's always different when it's game time.
Yes, AD is a fragile and an easily injured player but he is also in NBA 75 list, is he not? 75 greatest players of NBA of all time list. So, how can anyone not play him to his max. If he is not a type of player that play like other stars, then they shouldn't have selected him in that list, in my opinion. He got 35m last season, this season almost 38m, next season 40m and 2024-2025 season 43 million. I mean, I understand your point and that is actually correct, but this is an aspect I don't like particularly about NBA. There is a star player that you immensely need to play him in your roster, but you can't play him as much as other stars, and you pay him quite high. I know, that is how sports work these days. We have of course witnessed these kind of situations in the past. For example, GSW with Curry, KD and Klay Thompson. But they are not this prone to injury. I just don't like it as a basketball and NBA fan that we have to talk like that about a great player like AD. I just wish Lakers can use him more in his prime and we can watch him more. I'm sure AD wants to play also.

2015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Estrada vs Chocolatito - Trilogy - Dec 3, 2022 on: December 04, 2022, 02:25:16 PM

It was a clean win by Estrada,  so he deserve to win and to the bettors who trusted him.

Estrada learned a lot from their last two fights he knows that Roman is going to come and take the fight to him so he accumulates points by playing good defense frustrating Chocolatito and landing good counter punches, style really makes a good fight they want to slug it out but Estrada landed the most relevant and solid punches and that's what gets the Judge's nod, the fight is too close but it goes down to how the judges appreciate both boxers styles and punches, and they score on a boxer who can land a good punch than who throws volume punches.

He was so effective with his counter punches, until the 12 rounds, Chocolatito was still the aggressor but he wasn't hitting clean shots anymore. It's quite close because one judge scored a draw but two judges does not want this fight to end in a draw as they scored in Favor of Estrada. This fight is one of my favorite fights this year and I'm happy that their rivalry has ended.
2016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Estrada vs Chocolatito - Trilogy - Dec 3, 2022 on: December 04, 2022, 01:12:33 PM
Estrada is a heavy underdog even in the poll here Estrada only got 1 vote out of 16 votes

Estrada   - 1 (6.3%)
Chocolatito   - 15 (93.8%)
Draw   - 0 (0%)
Total Voters: 16

The fight is too close Chocolatito is pouring a lot of punches in the late rounds of the fight I thought that it was enough to get the nods of the judges but Estrada already build an early lead, I'm sure people will not mind having a fourth fight, the fight is just too close that it could go either way and it goes to Estrada's favor this time.

Betting odds for this fight.
https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/news/boxing/juan-francisco-estrada-vs-roman-gonzalez-3-odds-predictions-how-to-watch/
Quote
Juan Francisco Estrada   +175
Roman Gonzalez   -225

Gonzalez was favored but not heavily favored, voters on the poll are just too bias, LOL.. they vote based on their emotion, they go with the fighter who has a good performance on their last fight.

It was a clean win by Estrada,  so he deserve to win and to the bettors who trusted him.
2017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 04, 2022, 12:08:33 PM
So this is now where Chot won't participate in the playoffs after 21 years. He became a fun meme for most PBA and basketball fans recently because of his attitude towards the game and for being too selfish about coaching two teams, Gilas and his team.
I think his team being out is actually good if you're thinking about the Gilas so that he can focus there more and there won't be any distractions anymore from the playoffs. And then from there, prove the critics wrong and show that he deserves wherever he is.

If his team does not qualify for the playoffs, then how can you expect they'll do better in international competition? Gilas are probably composed of lots of TNT players because he is the coach, so I don't see the team being a quality team to be competitive enough against the big and more agile teams.

International games are different from PBA, although the team has plenty of TNT players the team is composed of star players and they are still competitive. TNT just miss the playoffs in one conference and we are already overreactive, come on guys, give them next time, for sure they will bounce back as long as they are healthy.
TNT is still a great team though with a lot of good finish from previous conference, maybe they just don't have the chemistry yet but with regards to their talents we should not disregard it, this conference might not be for them and other teams are just so eager to at least get into the playoffs. Let's not just blame Coach Chot here, the whole team did their best its just that, its not enough. We have to move on and focus on the teams that are still playing, there will be more surprises for this conference for sure.
They should make a move on Williams, he cannot stay with TNT as he will only destroy the chemistry. If one player is acting like a superstar and he wants special attention, that will affect the others and the bond will not be create. I though he will be the next Jason Castro, but I was wrong because the Castro I know is a very humble player despite being a talented one.
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: December 04, 2022, 10:38:54 AM
We've seen the Casimero vs Akaho fight already and it's a NC (no contest) result because Akaho refuses to continue with the match. And so I would say a bad start for Casimero but still though, the power is there and it seems very eager to show it to the world. Unfortunately, Akaho doesn't want to continue. Now I don't know if this kind of performance will impress Inoue or will still be willing to take Casimero as potential opponent in 122 lbs or go right away for the champion in this division if ever he wins this fight against Paul Butler next week.

It's a bad start if you look on paper but if you look how he fought, you can see that he was able to bring his power and even more powerful in the super bantamweight division. he has not won the fight but for sure he will have another fights, and hopefully that time it will not result to a "no contest", but a win for Casimero, KO for sure.
2019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: December 03, 2022, 02:58:46 PM
I could have watch this fight through live streaming if I knew it's happening today. Usually, the date of the fight is on American time, I have no idea that it's on a Philippine time so it's just unfortunate that i missed watch this fight. Watching the highlights, I saw that the fight was short and ended in a controversial result, but in the eyes of the fans, it was very obvious who won the fight.

There's no solid punch in the back of the head all punches went on the body and the face of Akaho he is groggy and going down until he found a reason to act like he is punched in the back of the head, a big disappointment for those who watched this fight and Akaho should be ashamed of his action, this is not the same Akaho I watched in his previous fights, he is more of an actor than a boxer, a lot of people are booing Akaho for his action, the fight should be awarded to Casimero he is the clear winner here.
It should not be a no-contest if a fighter does not want to continue, it's TKO not a no-contest.

He wasn't acting like a real fighter, he knows that the ref was in his favor so he was using that advantage, but where is the pride, he should just play fair and clean and give an entertaining fight for the fans. Casimero was obviously dominating the fight from the very start and Casimero sees an opportunity to finish him in round 2 but it was stopped because Akaho choose not to continue and just try to convince the ref that he was hit in the forbidden area.

Jazz is on a 3 winning streak, so I decided to ride on them.

Tomorrow we have Jazz vs Blazers, Jazz will be hosting Blazers and they are favored by 4 points, so I'm taking it without hesitation.
Also, I have a feeling that this game will easily go to over, so I'm taking the over as well.

GL everyone.

If the Blazers are playing without Lillard, that is a good bet. The Jazz is better even if they do not have Conley and the Blazers are worse without their star, Damian Lillard. And they are playing home so it is a big advantage for the Jazz. What is the odd of Jazz? If it has a good moneyline odds, maybe I will take some action too.

Lillard will still be out.
According to the report https://www.blazersedge.com/2022/12/2/23490893/portland-trail-blazers-injury-report-several-players-still-out-vs-utah-jazz... several players will be out against the Jazz.

Quote
OUT

Johnson (L Hip Pointer)

Lillard (R Soleus Strain)

Little (R Femoral Head Impaction Fracture)

Payton II (Return to Competition Reconditioning)

DOUBTFUL

Hart (L Ankle Sprain)

QUESTIONABLE

Eubanks (R Hip Contusion)

It's still Simons and Grant that will carry the team, but since they are undermanned, I don't think they'll win against the Jazz who are on a momentum now for their short run.
