1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 08, 2023, 12:14:34 PM

He's 34 years and maybe he might not get that fight since he's almost at the peak of his career or maybe even if we can see the fight between Inoue he became so slow because of age and Inoue will just finish him off easily. For now let see what will be the result of Fulton vs Inoue since this might be the deciding factor on what step Inoue should take. If Inoue will get this fight then provably he will not going to fight Casimero since he cannot earn anything from him.
Just one opportunity, so we can see if Inoue could really stand against a tough challenger like Casimero. I'm sure all boxers are well aware of his power, but since Casimero is the kind of boxer who does not engage in hit and run tactics, we will surely witness a very entertaining fight. Both fighters' durability will be tested.

Something that fans really wanted to witness way back from their previous division,

before they decided to climb up, if Casimero manage to maintain his weight and beat Butler, the chance of witnessing the
between Inoue and Casimero might take place. But it's not the end as the chance of crossing the path again is still possible
if Casimero will continue to win and become a good challenger while Inoue manage to beat Fulton.

It's foregone conclusion now, we will have to wait what Casimero can bring in this division. If he can bring the hype when he was still at 118 lbs then good for him. But the fight that we wanted to see him is against Luis Nery but it is not happening.

As for Inoue vs Fulton, I think the fight training could be at the peak right now and then winding up in the last couple of weeks as they don't want to overtrain. Specially Fulton who has been waiting for this fight as Inoue suffered a injury as far as I can remember.

Luis Nery got his own fight now and it is against Froilan Saludar, a Filipino boxer but it is not decent enough compared to Casimero's experiences when in-fact they are the ones who should fight each other and not this Saludar. To think, it's been quite clear that Nery has been avoiding Casimero for quite some time now even if he got some of the advantages over the former Filipino champion.

For Fulton and Inoue, only two weeks to go before their fight night and since this fight has been through some delays, so yes, we can say that both camps are just having some few touch ups so that they will not overtrain and derail from their intended goals. They wouldn't want that for sure and I know that both of them is excited already and excited to have this fight, finally.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 07, 2023, 08:37:41 PM
The fight is going to be on July 29!!! Only 22 days more before we witness who becomes the king of the welterweight division hehehe! We also have another superfight with Fulton vs. Inoue. This month is good to be a fan of boxing.

Also in an interview, Shawn Porter said that Spence has a huge advantage over Crawford in punch output. However, my question for boxing experts of the forum. Will this he enough to win the fight?

Shawn Porter says Errol Spence will have a huge advantage over Terence Crawford with his physical presence and his high punch output on July 29th.

While Porter does rate WBO welterweight champion Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs), he’s incapable of matching IBW, WBA & WBC champ Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) with his volume punching.

Crawford has been a pot-shot fighter his entire fifteen-year professional career, and he’s not going to change now at 36 years old.

Source https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/07/shawn-porter-says-errol-spence-has-huge-advantage-over-terence-crawford/

Much of the predictions were for Crawford before this month. However, presently there are new storylines that are being argued for Spence. The skeptical me is beginning to think that this might be manipulated to end on a draw and give the promoters another chance to collect more money from a part 2.

I'd say that these boxers who are giving their own predictions and speculations are just the same as us, the fact that they are not the ones who are participating the fight is already a reason to say that they are just like us, giving predictions on how the fight would go.

I don't really believe that they are more reliable compared to us who are also watching their fights. The question is, does Spence also believe the same way like what Shawn Porter believes? Because I don't think that Spence is that confident to say that a huge advantage over Crawford as he knows that the latter is also a different boxer in his own way, that's why he was able to retain the belt for more than five consecutive years now.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 07, 2023, 08:07:19 PM
^ Not the worst trade I guess. Especially when you consider that getting Dame would probably draw in free agents that are worth more than what Miami would be giving up for him. Concerning news for the league is the rumor that if Dame gets traded anywhere other than Miami that he will refuse to report. His image might be about to take a hit.

That would be crazy, I know holding out is more an nfl thing but I can't remember an nba player being traded and refusing to check in.  Would that team have the right to back out of the trade?  At this point in his career do you really think Dame would do that.  I mean if he gets buried on a presentation losing team I guess it's possible but what if the Bucks swung a trade for Dame.  I mean the chip is there for him to win it a bunch of places.  If he didn't comply yeah his image would definitely take a hit.  Everyone should learn from Leveon Bell better to play then to sit out.  Could ruin your career.

Honestly, other than the Miami Heat, there are lots of teams that are interesting to acquire Dame and they actually got what it takes to get him if they were that serious. But in respect with what the player wanted, they are giving the chance to the Miami Heat because that's what the player wanted and if the Heat cannot give a good package in return, let's just expect that there will be some teams that will have their own offers, like Bucks and Celtics for instance.

I don't really mind what the agent of Dame says, and I will not believe a single thing that the league is afraid of that kind of trouble because with Dame's situation nowadays, it will be hard for him to forget what he started just because of this trade. Sooner or later, he will retire within a decade or less, I don't think he's ready to sacrifice that kind of thing.
1044  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need a book recommendation on: July 06, 2023, 09:14:10 PM
Hello everyone , I'am a beginner on crypto trading and i'am
looking for your recommendation on some essential books on how to trade/trading strategies (preferably on day trading), any of your recommendations would help, thank you.
Books are actually losing their value nowadays as most beginner traders just prefer learning from online articles from a legit source. You can actually research some good articles online and do your due diligence to read and understand them. Also, don’t underestimate the power of this forum. You can always learn from the traders experiences shared in this forum, and you can always make some follow up questions if there are times you find it hard to understand.
1045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, Not your coins" is not enough on: July 06, 2023, 03:24:35 PM
There is one problem with this quote. This quote assumes that everybody that uses bitcoin understands its underlying tech. In fact, some people don't care about it at all. Some people just use crypto as a way to get rich quick. For them, it doesn't matter what they are trading. BTC, ETH, LTC, XMR, DOGE, SHIB... These are all the same for these people. For them BTC is just another casino token. We can't expect them to think that much even though it is in their interest to think about these stuff. Some people will fail anyway.

You said "Not your keys, Not your coins" is not enough... and I say, "Not your keys, Not your coins" is more than enough. (for these people anyway)

That's right, I agree with a lot of what you wrote;  people trade and they don't know what they are doing, they don't have a clue what bitcoin or ethereum or monero is.  They don't know the underlying technology or the differences, they don't know why Bitcoin does this and why it does it better than others, they don't know how to keep it in their own private keys, in fact they don't know they really know that it can be moved to a safe place, because they been told to use an exchange and maybe they registered through a referral from a trusted friend.  There is still a long way to go.
That proves that not all traders are ready and good enough. Some are just here for trading alone, without  even thinking about the security and safety of their coins. As long as they can trade and gain profits, that what’s only matter to them. But if they have been in the shoes of those people who have save their coins in FTX, perhaps it will serve as an eye opener for them not to trust and place their coins in a centralized exchange for an indefinite period of time.
1046  Economy / Economics / Re: Has everyone become too pesimistic about the economy? on: July 06, 2023, 09:55:42 AM
I'm a pleb like most of you, and I too have, many times, become pesimistic about the economy in general and in what's about to come. But has anyone ever considered that,

- The economy is not going to crash into a recession
- That there will be an actual soft landing
- That the Russia - Ukraine war will not escalate into a European war
- That Gensler CAN'T truly ban crypto
- Institutional investors will come back and take Bitcoin to six digits

I'm probably missing more narratives, but you get the idea.
I know what you supposed to mean but I don’t think in reality people will have high hopes on that. What’s important is that what we see at the moment and not that what will probably happen in the future. But I’m also open to your idea that if we can be hopeful and still see things positively, then we should stop seeing things in a negative way. That way, being optimistic will also attract positive circumstances. After all, we should live life with no regrets, and with no negative perspectives in the future. The current economy might be bad for everyone but know that there’s always possibilities for a change.
1047  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is buying merit parmited on: July 06, 2023, 09:06:13 AM
What exactly do you need merits for? If you have in mind that after you buy merits from someone whatever the deal is and think you can join campaign later on then it's totally wastage of time because managers will also evaluate your post history which will tell the posts are not worth it so what's the fun behind it? The system was implemented to prevent spam posters but if you somehow get it by paying for it you didn't gain anything with enhancement in your knowledge.

You are newbie here just exploring different threads is what you should focus on and when you write some quality stuff or even something useful like asking some good doubts also then you will get merits your way which is the best not to follow any such advice of whosoever is convincing you to buy merits.
It seems that newbies these days are very anxious about getting merits that’s why if some will attempt to sell their merits, they will instantly grab for that. That is a clear manifestation that they don’t care about the purpose of the forum but only to satisfy their greed and that is to get rich quickly. I just hope that they will realize that merit is not the only factor to qualify for signature campaign. It’s actually the posting habits and performance of an applicant that will matter the most, and not merely on how many merits you’ve received.
1048  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 06, 2023, 08:33:04 AM
I saw something on a friend of mine iPhone I was amazed, this guy has 3 pieces of bitcoin but he didn't look it when you look at him with mere eyes, I ask him how he has come this far, he told long ego he was seriously investing on all kinds of coins with little amount of bitcoin but then most of those coins help him to realized enough amount to buy more bitcoin because that was his primary target. He normally buys those zero value coins when they appreciates it will be enough money, and that's how he convert and swag all to bitcoin and today, he has 3 piece. Is good to be diversified in your investment, somedays something good will come out of one you don't expect.
The problem with these altcoins is that even if you buy them at zero value, you will never know if their value will truly appreciate in the future that’s why some invested on them and end up regretting, wishing they only stick to bitcoin regardless of its quite expensive price. I guess your friend was just lucky that time, because if he insist it doing again these days, surely he will only suffer from great losses.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Procrastination, Buy Bitcoin And Prepare For The Next Halving. on: July 06, 2023, 03:38:18 AM
If the government (SEC) just don't try to ruin its market, they could have created more millionaires in Gary's tenure.
They can delay the market's riping scene but they won't forever get a hold of it. Especially on Bitcoin, halving is gonna be an unstoppable factor for the market to be at the best shape again.

There have been news that I've seen that Gensler should be out of his position in no time. But whether it happens or not, again, the market is unstoppable when we're getting close to halving.
Bitcoin halving is the most awaited unstoppable event by all bitcoin enthusiasts so whatever delays SEC will imposed, they can’t stop the market from its bitcoin halving especially if the people have turned against them and shift into bitcoin. Even Gensler can’t do nothing about it, as bitcoin halving has been happening thrice already even before Gensler was designated in his current position.
1050  Economy / Economics / Re: To Hodl or Lend: What is your take? on: July 05, 2023, 09:55:15 PM
Well it depends on individual’s choice. But as for me, bitcoin is too much precious to lend it even to reputable exchanges but instead, I’ll just hold it and keep it safe in my non-custodial wallet. Because the fact that all centralized exchanges are not safe for keeping your bitcoin, even if you are given some interest of it, then you should not entrust your coins to other wallet knowing once its out from your wallet, your coins will never be yours anymore.
1051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 05, 2023, 09:21:35 PM
It fits perfectly to define the Bitcointalk Forum as a school, I totally agree with this assumption. Anyone who comes here will be taught basic things about Bitcoin and other alternative cryptocurrencies, anyone can develop their knowledge while they are here.
Something that is not yet known can be learned here, the Bitcointalk forum can also be used as a place to look for bonuses while learning. The more senior members have benefited a lot here, they are also very friendly to newcomers by pointing the juniors to finer things.
Yes, I can also see it as a quality school that we can expect a lot of new insights to gain and learn, and even if you enter the forum clueless and with no knowledge about crypto, no worries as members will never criticize you for that but instead, they will instill a lot of relevant information in you so it’s up to you how you’ll use them to develop into a better version of yourself. And you’re right, with all the knowledge and strategies that we will start to develop here, we can also earn from them by participating in different signature campaigns as long as our position and performance will also be qualified.
1052  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I become a successful Bitcoin investor as a newbies? on: July 05, 2023, 08:56:04 PM
For me, just follow the basics and you’ll never get perish on it. By gaining sufficient knowledge and understanding what you are investing into, then you will know what to avoid so you won’t put your bitcoin investment into a waste. And when you decide to invest, don’t go for quick profits but learn to keep them for long term hodling, as with patience and right attitude you will get what you aim and desire in the end.
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Considerations Before Investing in Bitcoin - For Beginner on: July 05, 2023, 08:19:16 PM

10. Pray
    - If you are a person who has faith or belief, prayer is the most important part of doing any business, therefore you need to do worship like praying.

Interestingly, you mention this factor, even though bitcoin is an investment, and to be successful and profit from it, we need to combine many elements as you have provided. But I wonder how many people are believing and doing this? I don't think many people will do this because I don't often see people talking about it, but I believe in it and call it luck. For me, there is no success without luck, even if you prepare well the above 9 factors without luck, you cannot succeed with bitcoin.
I also believe that success comes from luck but let’s not underestimate the power of prayer as everything that we desire to happen will always be possible with prayer. Though people not mentioning it more often because for them it’s all about knowledge, skills, and luck, but all these things will not even work if you forget to pray. So I always encourage everyone, whatever business you are entering into, always say a prayer so that everything that you desire will be granted.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 03, 2023, 09:13:52 PM
A little bit off topic but am I the only one who always thought that Mark looked a little bit like an alien?
I just noticed it again because how his eyes look more distant, in comparison to Elon's and the proportions of his face.

Anyways, back on topic: besides betting on the fight, would anyone here dare also to speculate on Tesla and Meta stocks while the fight is on? It would be fun if this happened while the stock market is open, in my opinion.
That might actually be the reason behind all this, to gain publicity and gain profits through the stocks since we all know news like this does affect markets either positively or negatively, but they might have planned this out in the hope that their company stocks might skyrocket after this news gets into circulation which probably didn't happen so far, I doubt if they will actually get into a cage fight which is not a joke at all.

And if that isn't the motive behind all that since both of them are billionaires and don't need more money at all, I keep wondering what could be the reason behind all this and why this thing started in the first place, I read that they have had things against each other but this is far beyond everything.

How did it all start, I only know they are rivals in the tech since Elon bought Twitter and turned it private.

The feud between them is not that new anymore because if we try and search it on the internet, it will take us back somewhere in 2016 but anyway, that's not the whole reason why these two have resorted into a cage fight.

It all started when Elon tried to fool around on the internet via twitter and suddenly challenged Mark into a 1v1 cage fight but I do think that Elon didn't really mean it and unexpectedly, few days after, Mark replied in his Instagram account where he said that he agrees with it and just throw the location so that he can come over.

I doubt the stock prices going to be affected when they fight. The fight would be more serious if the two also are going to bet something like the stocks they have from their company. It would make this fight a lot more interesting not just to bettors but to the investors as well to their stocks, especially if whoever wins will get to have a seat on the board  Grin

I agree that it will do nothing regarding their stocks and there will be no negative or positive impact as well. I mean, you can already ask yourself if you were the buyer, would you buy some of their stocks just because of this fight? And that they are making some noise? I don't think that it is a reasonable answer for you to go ahead and buy some of it.
1055  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: July 03, 2023, 08:59:34 PM

In every action you take, there's always a responsibility behind. You need to take that decision and carry the risk. If you are aiming for big profits, you need to learn all the possible ways in gaining the knowledge to have that edge from other traders, with that knowledge you can place your money even it's a huge portion of your savings knowing that the chance is far better in reaching your set targets.

This has become commonplace for businesses large and small. To be able to get something bigger, of course, there will be some pretty difficult obstacles, meaning they can't get out without their knowledge. I hope everyone understands that risk and reward will always go hand in hand, don't be afraid to do things that you find difficult. You can choose several instruments that can be adjusted to your level of risk acceptance.

That risk that you will going to try will somehow give you the opportunity to make something big, though we do have a different viewpoint about it and same with what you mentioned, there's instrument that you can use to adjust the level of risk. It's more on how you accept and handle your decision making.

Taking a big risk in something that you have better understanding might lead you to a good success, though not always, there's still instances that you might be wrong from anticipating the market, but it's all on your call and how you take care of the business.

Meaning, often times, when we do big risks we should make sure that we have studied it well and got some knowledge beforehand so that our anticipated results will happen and that big profits will be on our hand. Yes, I know that it doesn't mean that if we analyzed it carefully, situation will favor us just because of that factor but at least we know that we did our job and in the next step, we are more experienced and knowledgeable to minimize those mistakes.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 03, 2023, 07:47:54 PM

And most probably they will not end the regular season in the 8th seed or just barely passed to play in the Play-in Tournament, and in the finals, I'm sure that they could have brought more results or even made a difference if Dame was already in the roster. But in reality, that was not the case and in the upcoming season, it's not that even clear that Dame will land in Miami as there are lots of teams in the league right now who is very inclined to have him.

Yeah right. They might not be playing on all those crucial situations if Dame was there to help, but we all know that we really
can't control or predict what might happen if ever he's with the Heat, right?

Now, with that trade request, a lot of things can happen. Just look at the way when Kyrie requests that trade from the Nets
rumors circulate that he might join LeBron but ending up playing with the Mavs.

Looking to see (Dame) achieving his goal, to win a title.

Being a superstar doesn't mean that you can dictate which team you wanted to land on, unless your name is LeBron James who can somehow make things happen.

But for Dame and Kyrie, both Nets and Portland gave them a big contract because they are really that kind of expensive players because of what skills they possess but in the same way, those teams will make sure that they will get the same worth with what they gave and will not just give them away easily without having any good package in return.

And hence why Kyrie Irving is in Dallas now and why Damian Lillard might not land in the Heat, even if he wishes to go there.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is right time for investment ? on: July 03, 2023, 06:40:41 PM

If you want to buy bitcoin at $30k, go ahead, because the current price is worth buying,
even Microstrategy has also bought Bitcoin at the current price so if we buy it, we will be like microstrategy.
so don't worry we are not alone.

It's not really the right mindset mate whenever you're buying something because it seems to me that you're just doing what everyone else is doing, instead, buy bitcoin or any other altcoin because you are inclined to it as you have found in your research that this specific coin will have a price boost in the upcoming future and not just because microstrategy is doing it. Don't be afraid to be unique because even if everyone is doing it, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will pay off.
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Meme Coins (Pepes project)? on: July 03, 2023, 06:18:36 PM
To be honest, from the past until now I have no interest in meme coins, because many meme coins don't last long even most of the people who invest in meme coins experience big losses. Moreover, the price movement of the meme coin is heavily influenced by the hype.

Exactly. It's pure gambling. I mean, a lot of people think that crypto is gambling, but memecoins are 100% exactly what it is. And they all were created not because it's funny or because they wanted to do something good, it's just a cash grab on the hype.
It is true that many coin memes can often be considered a form of speculative gambling. Meme coins are often created for commercial purposes and can become objects of a struggle for profit through sheer hype and popularity. Many people are tempted to invest in meme coins because of the success stories related to the rapid increase in value. If you are not interested in coin memes and see it as gambling, that is normal attitude. Each of us has different preferences and risk tolerance in making investment decisions that suit our financial goals.

On the other hand, we can also see these meme coins as a way to accumulate more coins as we could also generate a lot of profits from this if we can ride it just in the right time, but the trouble is, nobody knows when it will move again as only the whales have that advantage because they have the power to move the market into their own means.

But if you're not that type of investor who is not into these kinds of ways, then you can always have the much safer option, which is pure holding and waiting.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 02, 2023, 08:53:00 PM
Very soon, the truth will prevail and we will know the reason why this was done, or we may never know, but I really don't think that there is going to be a serious cage fight between two tech giants and billionaires who even if have something going on, this is not necessary for that.

There isn’t going to be any fight. As for a reason on why this fight was even conceived in the first place, who knows? I think this was done for jokes and to see how people would speculate about who would turn out the winner. I bet both of them would be laughing their asses off while reading comments and seeing both their social media apps flood with posts about the fight.
I would think this was done to remain relevant and be still talked about and trending but those two are always trending and talked about. They’re billionaires with their own social media apps.

I think the same as you, I feel this is just their joke. basically they're laughing behind their backs and these jokes are just their marketing ploy. it seems like they want to collaborate on a big project, so they make a gimmick so that their new project is quickly recognized by many people, so they make drama on social media first.

Even if they meet later, in the end they are planning a mega project business to create even more sophisticated AI. And maybe they will collaborate to make an application that we didn't expect, namely to make a cellphone so that it can make calls between planets and moons. Since I don't believe they would fight even if they did, they didn't fight physically but instead used an AI hologram similar to them to initiate the fight.

But do you think that these guys need to marketing anything they do with a boxing fight or MMA fight? I mean when Zuckerberg and Musk announce a project, what else is required in your opinion to have a successful marketing campaign for whatever they could be planning?

I don't think that there will ever be a fight and there is too much discussion about it because it's unrealistic in all regards, but one thing I am sure about is that they don't need a marketing campaign for a new product. The announcement alone would spread around the globe within minutes with or without a cage fight. Wink

If both of them are planning to do a collaboration for a big project then they can do it at any given time as they have their own massive social media platform that will disseminate the news for them. I don't think they need to fake a fight just to make a big project because these two names are already known in the business industry as both of them is successful enough to do what they are planning to do.
1060  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: July 02, 2023, 07:53:35 PM
I agree, selling property needs to be considered carefully, we should find all other ways before thinking about selling our property because selling is easy, but buying back is not easy. Especially assets that increase in value over time, like gold, real estate, or bitcoin. But in OP's case, he has emergency funds, why not use them instead of thinking about selling the property? Let's make a comparison, and it can be easily seen that creating an emergency fund will be much easier than buying property. OP, you should carefully consider everything before making a final decision.
Diverting funds from selling investment properties to other investments is very ineffective because we cannot afford to buy the same property due to property prices increasing every year, OP needs to consider that each type of property generates promising profits for the long term, but if we still have alternative options to use allocation from an emergency fund so we can use it to add to other investments instead of keeping emergency funds in fiat, my suggestion is that emergency funds are better diverted to gold or bitcoin investments which are easy to exchange with fiat whenever we need those funds for urgent needs.

This is very true, it won't do good for you to sell your investment properties just to transition to other investment. In my case, I have some properties that are rented for me to have a passive income. The price of the house already doubled but still I stick to passive income for me to have extra money for other investment. I have two properties which I live in the other one and the one is for rented. But it's a good idea to use your emergency funds in investment where you can easily convert it back to fiat money such as you've mentioned. Once you've profited enough the best thing to do is to use those spare money for other investment as well for you to have a lot of options in case of emergency.

That is really good if your property has a house on it, but if it is just sitting around with no building at all, then you are waiting for someone to rent it. There are no problems with that, but if you don't have plans for that area, for example, if it is very far from the road or if it is very remote, and you really plan to sell it soonest, then that is only possible if it is just your spare land, but if that is only your land, then that is a really bad idea.

Depends on the situation really mainly if you got some spare cash or should I say emergency funds, considering that the place you've owned is situated in a very remote area and much away from the road then I think it will be beneficial for you to sell it rather than doing nothing about it given that you're inclined to have some money on your hands.

There's nothing to do about it as the described land will just give you additional bills without earning something from that land plus, selling that will be a good thing as that same land will probably take you a decade before the value will grow up.
