1021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with caution on: July 13, 2023, 07:58:05 PM
That 3rd statement is true and has always been the case for the majority. Just as everyone is aware that they're on the profit, they're passing it on. It's because that they're thinking that the profit might be higher than what's being seen at the moment. Thus, greed is being detected on the majority while it's possible to sell at just keep the profit and win by that time, they're letting it pass because of the thought that the profit might be higher if they wait a little bit longer. Yes, that's possible but for how long? Years? or just a few days or just a few hours? Do not forget to satisfy yourself and take that profit.
You know it’s hard to satisfy oneself and not wanting more because we are born greedy and hence, without satisfaction. And if greedy people decide to trade, it will be a struggle for them fighting their own greed and emotions. That’s the reality, but despite it, there are still good number of traders who have overcome that and end up trading successfully. Aside from controlling its greed and emotions, patience also matter so you can perfectly trade your coins at its best and reasonable price.
1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin according to Satoshi is digital money then why call it investment. on: July 13, 2023, 07:29:52 PM
The world has freedom of speech and you can call Bitcoin as anything you want in your vision.

You can call it as it is, Bitcoin but you can call it as a shitcoin, a virtual currency, digital currency or even a scam currency.
If you buy it and hold it as an asset, you will call it as a store of value, for your investment.
If you use it at a gambling site, you will call it as a gambling currency.
You use bitcoin in your own ways and other people use their bitcoins in their ways which can be different than yours.

It can be called as The Internet of money
or as a Bitcoin standard.

Whatever you call it, others call it, Bitcoin is Bitcoin.
You’re right mate. Bitcoin is Bitcoin no matter what people call it. However, for me bitcoin is also an investment because it grows its value and in return it will provide us profits or income that we can also used to invest aside from bitcoin. The fact that bitcoin is a store of value then people can freely call it as an investment. And despite of its highly volatile price, bitcoin remains a good and profitable investment as it is.
1023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before contributing, learn from others as a newbie on: July 13, 2023, 06:23:19 PM
Well, it’s a must I think that if you are not familiar about the thread, then learn from other comments first so you will also get the whole idea and have your own analysis on it. That is why learning is constructive, you don’t have to rely on oneself only but care to brainstorm first from other members post. That is one way from saving your post not to go off topic. However, when it comes to investing and trading, same thing goes. Learn from the experience of those veteran members, as they have been exposed in the market for long and have developed more working strategies to combat or prevent themselves from losses.
1024  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 13, 2023, 05:47:15 PM
Marketing is an important key to a successful business, if your products is seen in various ways of advertisement then you need to worry less because that will speak to your customers and bring more customers to you. However, small business lack the idea of marketing their product in a smaller way through social media but I think that nowadays youths makes use of social media to advertise their stuffs than before.

It is only agricultural produce that don't need marketing because it is part of our basic needs. The good thing with marketing is that it creates awareness for people both far and near.
Exactly. Since your goal is to make profits, then you should be able to let everyone know about your business and how it’s advantageous from others. With that, even your facebook account can do a lot of wonder. Once you publicize your post, that means everyone will be aware about it. And once you get there, the more you should maximize your marketing strategy so that those clients will not doubt your business and will go straight to you if ever they need it. That’s how useful social media these days.
1025  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 13, 2023, 07:17:38 AM
Almost everything influences the trading process. And in fact - to make a decision is not an easy task. So, it is only at first glance that everything is simple, accessible and understandable.
If you become mentally strong, then many of the issues mentioned in the op can easily be solved. You need to be determined completely and should not lose focus from your goal or daily limit. Making a decision was always hard, as several factors affect here. You need to analyse the risk, estimate the outcomes and predict the direction before investing in any coin. If a person excels in everything I mentioned previously then definitely he can reduce the risk and can completely change his profits or basically increases it.
Trading has a lot of factors to deal with before you can finally say that you’re a good trader. And there will always be inevitable losses no matter how good you are in trading. However, everything can be learned and even mastered but those process will certainly take a lot of time before they set in. That’s the reason why trading demands continuous learning from your mistakes and losses, and also from your achievements and profits as they will create an impact to the whole being of a trader. In the end, trading is hard and even risky, but you can always chose to make it easier by following the basics in trading and of course, trade with confidence and faith because that will also attract positive trading results.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: risk nothing, you're risking more on: July 13, 2023, 06:53:09 AM
It's okay, you can anytime join the Bitcoin bandwagon and start buying and shilling to others in your friends and family, Bitcoin is a great family and Bitcointalk is that house which includes this family. This is my daily go to forum for anything related to Bitcoin and I am sure, it's for many others.

BTW Anon, you are never late to buy Bitcoin. Just buy and HODL, good time is ahead. Bitcoin halving is ahead. Wink
No one is actually late when it comes to bitcoin investment. There’s always opportunities for those who decide to take some risk, it’s just that some have managed to overcome the risk and stay focused on their goals while some have been easily discouraged by their consistent losses and end up leaving their investment by selling at a loss price. However, reentering the market is always welcome. At least you can now correct your mistakes by not repeating the same mistake again, and by being more patient to wait for bitcoin price to surge high and reach another ATH again despite of its high volatility.
1027  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do when you have Financial Freedom? on: July 12, 2023, 09:40:59 PM
Financial freedom is what everyone is dreaming of. And the reason why we keep on working hard and do our best with crypto investing and trading is that we want to achieve financial stability and freedom so that we will have all the means to live our life to its fullest. And if ever given the chance, most likely I will strive even more to sustain my financial freedom so that I can also help and guide people who also need my financial help and assistance.
1028  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 12, 2023, 09:12:02 PM
Simply because they don’t do their due diligence to learn and just enter the crypto market without prior knowledge but with only greed that keeps motivating them to invest. That way, they will never be successful in crypto investment. We all have human greed actually but we should know when to avoid it and when to be greedy when everyone else has became fearful. Because that greed could either break us or keep us more wanting about crypto and its potentials.
1029  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or investment! What's your take? on: July 12, 2023, 08:47:49 PM
Trading is a high risk activity which requires a lot of know how and experience to have any chance of success in the field. This makes it the more dangerous for newbies and I don't exclude that to beginners on the forum but in trading as a fied. Your met with those that could be said to have been well experience in the field having had a lot of layers on there skin and they can use this.

Trading isn't for any individual with minimum knowledge, if any individual goes into trading without having the right information they'll lose. Many individuals have lost millions in the market because of this. Trading is more riskier than investing. Trading demand to be more active in the crypto market because as a trader you depend on news happening in the market to determine if you'll be putting in a buy order or opting out of the market.

Investing requires minimum work and attention. Investing has less risk involved as if you have patience you can always profits from investing in Bitcoin. Investing in altcoins on the other hand has the same risk as trading so unless you're ready to lose it don't do that.
Well, it’s clear that if you want to be more stress free and high risk free, then chose bitcoin investment over trading. What you need is just patience and emotional control so you won’t end up investing at a loss. For me, I don’t want to settle on only one when I know I have the potentials to be more profitable when I do both. That’s how optimistic I am especially with trading that will let you experience massive profits as long as you always follow the rule and basics when trading.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My story about bitcoin and my old friend. on: July 12, 2023, 07:59:15 PM
Well, I don’t have the same story as yours as my friends never really hated bitcoin that much, but they were not interested either. They just don’t want to take risk with bitcoin believing that it may only be a waste of time and money, and in the end it will only turn into scam. So I never convinced them in the first place. However, I still hope  that they’ll be more open to bitcoin one of these days. And maybe by that time, I can gain some significant achievements that will prove to them that bitcoin is legit and will never be directly involved in scams.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: July 10, 2023, 06:34:20 AM
Personally, it will change nothing because I have been gambling casually through online and land casino (depends on my mood) even before I met bitcoin. It's just that cryptocurrency gave me a whole lot of options when I'm betting towards online casinos, especially during Covid-19 as I have no other things to do at that time aside from my job that changed to a "work from home setting". So, if my government will ban btc, I will always go back to the use of fiat.
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: July 09, 2023, 08:49:55 PM
Scam, death both have in altcoins market so why you want investing altcoins?
My opinion buy dip and sold faster on some profits like to be best revenge for all altcoins investors!
What's your skills and opinion?

I mean, aren't you curious enough to know about why some investors are more inclined to invest in altcoins instead of bitcoin? Sure, bitcoin should be prioritized as an investment compared to the other coins that are existing the market because it carries more potential and it is already a reputable coin that is trusted by the public for more than a decade now.
But when we say altcoins, it is an alternative for bitcoin especially for the ones that are just looking for a short-term holding and doesn't have that much funds to invest but it can provide more profits than bitcoin but it carries more risks compared to the bitcoin.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 09, 2023, 06:51:14 PM
So it still depends on the country? because other countries allow 18 and above, but to others it is 21. Though it is really better to be  21 because we are mature enough at that time, this again depends on the law. Even though the risk is still present, meaning all of us can get addicted no matter what our age is, having this age limit is best because we know that those teens are very prone to addiction and easily get influenced by others.
more clearly if someone who starts gambling when they are over 18+ they have better self-control compared to minors who are very vulnerable to emotions that cannot be controlled, causing addiction. this age limit is actually not very successful in preventing minors but especially for online gambling but for physical gambling the age limit will really help minors avoid gambling.
because if in a physical casino when entering a gambling place you will always be asked for the identity of gambling security but for online casinos minors can use fake data to still be able to gamble.

Actually people that are 18 ain't mentally much different than 15 y.o. people. I know how dumb I was when I was 18 and I can tell there wasn't a great difference with my 15 years old self. So just because a person is over 18 doesn't mean he will make wise choices instantly.

Most people stay dumb till their 30's and some people stay dumb forever till they die.

On the other hand I've seen 15 y.o. kids that are way smarter than most adults. These kids were able to think and act like an adult. It is like they were living their 2nd or 3rd life... But let's be honest most people ain't like that.

Yes, that's quite funny mate and I definitely agree to the words you are saying because that is true. I also don't feel the difference when I was still 15 years old and even when I'm already 20 years old, I may have a bit of improvement but my priorities and mindset are somehow the same. Everything are almost the same because even a 20 years old can still be called a teenager, not by term but by choices that they made.

Hence why casinos and online casinos are requiring the gamblers to be at least 21 years old and above because by that time, most people do know how to weigh some things.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 09, 2023, 06:31:00 PM
I thought this fight wouldn't happen because there's no hype about this match in my social medias, even though this is an unification fight. The hype of Tank vs Garcia is way more higher than Crawford vs Spence.

This will happen. There isn't much hype on social media because both fighters are focused on their training, and they aren't trash-talking each other like Garcia does. This kind of fight is what we've been waiting for—a unification bout where it's hard to predict the winner since their skills are almost 50-50.

Don't worry, once the fight begins, all eyes will be focused on it. With both boxers being KO artists, one punch could end the fight.

Right, Tank vs Garcia is very different though, I mean the hype is really huge and PPV reaches more than 1 million. And I remember that we have discussed speculations about how big this fight it in terms of PPV and if I remember it correctly, we did somewhat agree that the numbers could be around 300,000-500,000 buys. But we will see.

It's getting closer, I can sense on some boxing forums that the hype is building already.

I also read some comments of former opponents of this two boxers, like Porter and they have given their own opinions about this fight.

That is quite normal and expected when it comes to big fights like this, famous boxers and analyst will always try and give their own predictions about the outcome of the fight but none of that will matter as even to themselves they cannot predict exactly what will happen to their own fight. So, it all boils down on Crawford and Spence on how will they figure this fight.

Anyway:

The WBA has made ‘regular’ 147-lb champion Eimantas Stanionis mandatory for the winner of the Errol Spence Jr vs. Terence Crawford fight on July 29th.

1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 09, 2023, 05:48:23 PM
I know this is a joke. Elon can't fight Mark anyway. Because Mark has a really fit body and does sports regularly. On the other hand, Musk does not have a good body. Also, I've seen him smoke pot before on a radio show. Elon is more witty and smarter. But he doesn't stand a chance against Mark. I think he knows that too. That's why he's only bringing this up as a joke. I don't think they will ever fight. But this issue will probably continue to be on the agenda for a while in the world of magazines.
I have a different opinion that Elon Musk has a better chance of this actually happening.
From his body shape, I'm sure Elon musk has greater strength than Mark, even though Elon musk has never smoked, but for this match, not only health but physical strength is also very influential.
Another thing that I can predict if this match actually happens I think Mark will not be able to beat Elon musk with a smaller body.
No you are not that different because I see there's also a few users who have voted for Elon Musk and you all have the same impression. The first thing that you guys have noticed is the physical appearance of the contenders. It's already in our psychology that a big person do already has a bigger strength although sometimes this isn't true and there's also small guys out there who have more strength because they work out or have been involved in a strenuous activity.

Another factor we are looking to is the age. it is when the person is young we think they are more stronger but again this is sometimes wrong. The older age person usually have more experience so they are superior than the younger person.

Ok but what you are describing is going down to the actual state of the body no matter what the age is. If someone works out five times a week and takes lessons in martial arts two times a week, that person is probably kicking the ass of everyone who is a couch potato even when there are twenty years of age between the two people. If you only look at the weight and height I think that Musk has an advantage and we don't know for certain whether he is working out or not and whether he has taken any martial arts lessons recently. These special cases don't fit into the normal comparison category of course. But all things equal in terms of training and fitness, height and weight are both an important factor.

Well, if we will bet for a fight between a man who took some lessons in martial arts and trained for at least five times a week vs a man that is couch potato but let's say that the latter is 20 years younger, I'd say 25 years old. Do you honestly think that the latter have a chance of defeating the 45 years old who trained in martial arts? Obviously, the answer will be no. The couch potato would be knocked down within a single round and that is for sure.

But since this fight is about Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, let me give you some facts about their background:

Elon Musk: Trained in martial arts since he was 6 years old up until now, specifically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is also black belter.
Mark Zuckerberg: Trained and studied martial arts since 2020 and have won two medals in a tournament just recently.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: July 08, 2023, 08:08:46 PM
That would be a great record to have, but FIFA is so concentrated on making money and extracting as many resources from the world cup that it would not surprise me if at some point they had the fantastic idea, notice my sarcasm, to play the world cup every two years instead of doing so every four years, in which case the record of Ronaldo will be easily crushed, now this may seem unrealistic now but it would not surprise me if they actually tried to do this in a few decades.

World Cup every two years? Impossible!!!

As ambitious for money as FIFA is, this would be a totally inappropriate suggestion for a competition of the magnitude that the world cup has.

In order to hold this event, there must be large investments by the host countries, a lot of mobility and changes in the schedule, there is no way to do this every two years.

Fifa has already increased the number of teams in the competition and this is what they can do best.

Another solution would be to make the tournament a regular competition and more spread out between the years, but that would take the "brightness" out of the tournament and become a "normal" competition.

The less Fifa messes with the world cup, the better!

You didn't even notice his sarcasm Cheesy he just said it mate.

A World Cup in every two years really do sounds ambitious and I don't think that it will be granted if ever the FIFA council will try to make it. Countries around the world will lose their desires to host for this kind of event as it will be not rare anymore and people won't be that interested anymore as they know that they can always see the next World Cup in the next two years, instead of four years where they will indeed prepare for it and will not lose the chance to see the event.
World cup in every two years would be interesting and the competition will loss it's value and zeal of players to be part of the competition. FIFA wouldn't even try to put it into consideration because it will be stressful for them too. So much funds will be involved within a short period of time that might become a burden on the host country. I guess FIFA might have thought of this due to their love for money but they must have considered it boring. For a player to appear in three consecutive world cup competition that means that the player started playing very young but if it is every two years,I might say that the same country might win it back to back.

World Cup every two years sounds funny more than anything, the only reason why many teams try hard for the world cup is being every four years and this can make the world cup tournament very important but being every two years can change everything. Also, this won't suit the FIFA calendar to have a world cup every two years instead of four.

People are already accustomed to the calendar that there will be a World Cup every four years, most are held during summer, especially in the countries that is not really hostile to the people if it's not summer season. Two years will of course change everything and might result into an unwanted scenario, besides, I know that the FIFA are not even thinking about this topic.

It's just that our brains are too restless that we tend to imagine the unimaginable scenarios ^^
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 08, 2023, 06:02:36 PM
Unlike in the 80's, maybe the era for most of us here who started to watch boxing. And then we see those legendary fights, even trilogy just to settle the score. Now it's a totally different era. And we really don't know who is really the best in the division unless they face each other.
The world has really changed; everything now is only about the money. Well, boxing is a form of entertainment, and those who entertain the people get paid. So, it's understandable that some boxers would evade opponents they think are hard to beat. That way, they can stay in the business for a long time and continue to make money. Nowadays, pride has already been replaced with price.

Again, another sad but true moments, that's why there could be some fans who really like what the 80-90's era of boxing as we have witnessed not just fights but rematch and trilogies without any barrier.

But now as you have said, if there is a fight, someone should be the A-side, meaning he will have the control of the negotiations, pure split and others, even rehydration clause and others. And with that, the other will have no choice but to give in to the demands and hopefully he can win so that in the rematch he will have the control.

Anyhow we are in July already, just a couple of weeks from this fight.

Yes, that is indeed undeniable and it's sounds reasonable enough because the boxing industry at that time was still on the phase of making its name in the whole world as it's not that yet modern at that time but now, it's totally different because they know that whatever they do, people will follow as long as the famous ones are moving to have their fights and any news can spread all over the world in just mere seconds.

We are just lucky enough to witness some of those good ol' fights in the golden era (80s-90s) because at that time, most boxers are not afraid to eat punches and their measurement of being a strong boxer is if they can eat punches as much as possible while standing face to face with each other and of course, who can deliver the most powerful punch.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: July 08, 2023, 05:45:57 PM
Of course the betting is agent is to be blamed for such thing. I mean, why would the "agent" let him bet 8,000 coins if he has only 1,000 coins with him? Casinos don't work like this. They would never allow you to wager more than you can afford to lose. If there is one such casino, that casino won't be lasting long. Imagine hundred of people wagering money they don't have and then not paying. And then there are people that might win a lot with those money, and yet the casino still won't make any money...
The agent is to be blamed here for making a "bad" business model.

I guess that the agent has been doing this stuff for a long time now and sounds like that he also managed to have his cut without any problems even though the bettors whom he lend the money lose the bet. But now, it is a very different case because the man cannot afford to give the money back as he might not have that much and just barely survived in every day life. Now, it has come to an end because the agent met the man that cannot afford anything and now he's having this kind of stuff.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2023, 03:00:01 PM
^ Not the worst trade I guess. Especially when you consider that getting Dame would probably draw in free agents that are worth more than what Miami would be giving up for him. Concerning news for the league is the rumor that if Dame gets traded anywhere other than Miami that he will refuse to report. His image might be about to take a hit.

That would be crazy, I know holding out is more an nfl thing but I can't remember an nba player being traded and refusing to check in.  Would that team have the right to back out of the trade?  At this point in his career do you really think Dame would do that.  I mean if he gets buried on a presentation losing team I guess it's possible but what if the Bucks swung a trade for Dame.  I mean the chip is there for him to win it a bunch of places.  If he didn't comply yeah his image would definitely take a hit.  Everyone should learn from Leveon Bell better to play then to sit out.  Could ruin your career.

Honestly, other than the Miami Heat, there are lots of teams that are interesting to acquire Dame and they actually got what it takes to get him if they were that serious. But in respect with what the player wanted, they are giving the chance to the Miami Heat because that's what the player wanted and if the Heat cannot give a good package in return, let's just expect that there will be some teams that will have their own offers, like Bucks and Celtics for instance.

I don't really mind what the agent of Dame says, and I will not believe a single thing that the league is afraid of that kind of trouble because with Dame's situation nowadays, it will be hard for him to forget what he started just because of this trade. Sooner or later, he will retire within a decade or less, I don't think he's ready to sacrifice that kind of thing.

Honestly I think the Bucks is the best spot for Dame.  With brook and giannis they got theor 4/5 covered.  I don't know who or what they can offer (seems to me the same that the Heat can offer) then the Bucks would be instant east favorites.  The Bucks are a premiere team, little bad luck with giannis going out early in game 1 of theor playoff series.  If I was Dame that would be the team I'd want.  That inside out game would be insane.  The amount of open 3s he'd see.  And with his range.  Wow that would be a tough team to cover.

Yes, as I said, there are lots of teams that are interested on this trade but it is Dame himself who wanted to be traded in Miami, who knows why but he didn't state any other teams if in case the Miami-Portland negotiation will fail. And if I recall it correctly, the Golden State Warriors was his first option before he expressed that he wanted a trade but everything has changed after the Warriors acquired Chris Paul and I'm as curious as you guys why Dame wanted to be in the Miami Heat if there are other teams in the league that can also give him the same chance.
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 08, 2023, 02:34:50 PM

I don't think you are following because I certainly believe that we have already established that fact and already know beforehand that Artur Beterbiev is a Canadian citizen and has been living in the mentioned country for almost 20 years now. The only thing that connects him to Russia is that he was born at that country, nothing else.

For Dmitry Bivol, just like what I mentioned above, the unification match is not really possible at the moment because the sanctioning bodies are not allowing it to happen. Bob Arum of the Top Rank and Eddie Hearn of the DAZN is the least of their problems because Bob Arum himself already stressed before that the unification fight is only possible is if he will organize it and not Eddie Hearn and it is reasonable enough because it is them who holds three of the four belts existing.

Following that last statement, we know who's Arum is, and what he wants, right? unless Hearn will allow this to happen if money that involves will show up as diamond in his eyes, the chance of making this unification match would likely to take place. But, if there's nothing like that and Hearn is not interested in dealing with negotiation, then there's nothing that fans can do here.

They will both find another alternative and keep the belt that they've got and continue to fight a decent challenger that will matchup against them.

It will be an unfortunate news for the fans all over the globe if ever the unification fight between the two champions will not happen. I can already tell that the negotiations are going to be rough because none of them is willing to give up the right to organize the fight because it will be a big event that will surely generate them a lot of money.
And if things goes worse, Bob Arum should pave a way because Beterbiev is not getting any younger as he is already 38 years old and a couple of years from now, he will have to retire.

Yeah right, if both handlers will not show any interest to settle the possibilities of these fight then it's unfortunate for all the fans as they won't be able to witness this unification fight between these two champs, more on money matter and who will adjust just to allow the fight to take place, or maybe if there are many fans to show interest and bring a huge noise inside SocMed.

The chance that both handlers will negotiate and try to settle things out just to make that huge paycheck depends on how they talk and how they will close the deal.

I guess Bob Arum will surrender the rights to Eddie Hearn if things will not go in his way because if this fight will not happen, Beterbiev will have to vacate the three belts that he is holding upon retirement without having the undisputed fight and most likely, it's Bivol who will have those in the next few years after someone will possess it.

About the hype surrounding about this future undisputed fight, both names involved in it have been making some noise in the past few months especially Bivol for upsetting Canelo and who wouldn't know about Beterbiev in LHW that got a 100% KO rate. So, it's safe to say that the fight will generate decent profits but not really comparable to the undisputed fight in super-welterweight division that we will soon see.
