2021  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 BTC Casascius Coins (U.S) on: January 26, 2014, 06:05:48 PM
Would you accept 2BTC for the Gold/Silver one?

No sorry, I'm pretty firm on my prices. At 2.5 Bitcoins, the 2013 coins sell pretty fast. They sell at 2.5-3 BTC, but of course it takes longer at the higher range of the spectrum.

Now, off to find my Camera USB cable, strangely the lack of pictures hasn't discouraged sales, of which I had planned to post threads about to get initial interest.
2022  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer S1 (U.S) on: January 26, 2014, 05:55:02 PM
One unit sold, the 180 Ghash unit is left. If interested in overclocking it, I found a nifty how to guide if you don't know already if you wish to go that path.

This isn't my video, it is however very helpful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72FU4Z_n0B4

2025  Economy / Computer hardware / [CLOSED] Antminer S1 (U.S) on: January 26, 2014, 05:31:54 PM
Hello, I've got two Antminer S1's for sale, one 200 Ghash OCed one, and one 180 Ghash non OCed one. The 180 Ghash can be easily OCed, however there isn't any headroom with my existing PSU, so I just have not. I'm asking 2 BTC each, the same price as they are selling for from the manufacturer, because: http://thegenesisblock.com/mining/a/e0ee460526

Why not buy from the manufacturer? Well because they are going to stop shipping for Chinese New Year, so you may have missed your deadline to buy one from them. I would prefer to ship to the U.S, as to avoid annoying paperwork, and for the sake of general feasibility, however if you are willing to pay the difference in shipping, I can ship out of the country.

I will have pictures up of the units themselves, as soon as I can find my camera's USB Cable. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I am firm on the 2 BTC price, and will not entertain lower offers.

2026  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB LEAD IN BULK on: January 26, 2014, 06:16:09 AM

Bleh, $5 per pound of lead? Spot price is around $1/lb. Stupid Amazon price gouging on lead. Mush, you could always buy gold coins off of Alibaba.
2027  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] 200+Gh bitcoin miner on: January 26, 2014, 06:13:48 AM
If you end up going the Antminer S1 route, and miss the deadline to order before they stop shipping over Chinese New Year, I've got one (maybe two) for sale.
2028  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS Selling 10.63 BTC on: January 25, 2014, 09:49:46 PM

any moderator here to stop this guy spamming my thread anymore?Huh

SaltySpitoon you are moderator here? can you please block this spammer sase007 from my topic at least?

No, because they are bringing up very valid concerns. As I said in my earlier post, sign a message saying, "I ezalex do indeed own the 10.63 BTC on this address" from the address that is holding the 10.63 Bitcoins. That is irrefutable proof that you do indeed have the coins.
2029  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB LEAD IN BULK on: January 25, 2014, 09:35:00 PM
I feel bad for your mailman..

oh man mushs mail lady... Angry

Relax, there is a 70 lb weight limit on flate rate boxes. Filling a small flate rate box with lead brings it to about 30-35 lbs.
2030  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Tigerdirect is now accepting bitcoin!!! on: January 25, 2014, 08:04:29 PM
Tigerdirect is the second largest personal computer hardware supplier after Newegg. While it is a big deal in itself, I'm more excited by the idea that Newegg may see that they are losing business to their competition in the form of Bitcoin sales, so that could influence Newegg to accept Bitcoins as well.
2031  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS Selling 10.63 BTC on: January 25, 2014, 07:48:33 PM
Why not just sign a message from the address holding the coins, and no more question of the matter?

I'm still not having any luck.
You have rpcallowip listed twice in your conf.  delete the 127.0.0.1 line -- and allow: 192.168.1.*  That should let anything on your network mine, even the local machine.

You can put so many rpcallowip in the config like you wish. 127.0.0.1 only says that the rpc can connect aswell from localhost.

Mining Direct to the Wallet with Antminer 180GH/s will not work as the wallet can not send the work fast enough to the miner.

Regards

@SaltySpiton
Saw to late in your Picture that you put rpcallowip=192.168.1.2 which means only exact this ip can connect to your wallet.

Yep, that seemed to be the problem, 192.168.1.* was indeed the trick. I'm getting mining stats out of my Antminer now, however I guess I wont be completely sure its working for me until I hit a block.

And yes it does, last time I didn't use the new node, I broke your server  Sad

The stats are a bit off since I have been trying to solo mine with it, but this is pretty similar to the share count I'm getting with your pool

Ouch, that's not a pretty picture.. Thanks for checking the IP. Now I'm wondering whether other people are experiencing the same issues with accepted shares rate; the average rate of dead shares on the new node is 10%, which is high but doesn't begin to explain 75% rejected.. I suppose you're familiar enough with P2Pool mining that the tips described on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool#Miners won't be of any help :/? I'll dig around in the logs in case I missed something. Could you tell me which address you're using?

I'm using Gf8ECtajSbeQfwweVDQrPvU4aRv4XcfYZq

*edit* I remember noticing that my getworks were incredibly low.

I think we have it!

Ill have to wait until I hit a block to confirm, but I'll let you know asap.

Try to use higher ip for your local wallet computer. Some router block the low ip range 1 to 10, try to use 192.168.1.22 or so and forward the port 12646 in your router to your wallet ip.

Regards

That shouldn't be a problem I've done this all before with quite a few coins, I'm just not having luck with this one. All of my devices are in the low IP Range, my Antminer's IP is 192.168.1.6, all of my other devices are 1.168.1.2-5. My guess is that there is some discontinuity between what I need to be using in the antminer's software which I think is a modified CGMiner, and what I'm actually using.

I'm still not having any luck.

Lets give it a shot, thanks. If I get everything working, I'll make sure to compile a guide on how to solo mine Goat with Antminers.

with 192.168.1.2 being the computer I'm running my wallet off of in server mode.

I'm still not having any luck.

I do use your pool, but I get something like 25% accepted shares. so I'm trying to switch over to solomining.

Oh, wow.. That's atrocious Sad sorry to hear that. Would you mind checking whether goatcoin.p2p.0x0a.nl resolves to 149.210.168.71 at your end?

Still not having much luck solomining. I've got a spare antminer that I've been trying to solomine goat with, however I just can't get it running. It just refuses to connect.

I am solo mining atm direct to wallet and over p2pool both working.

You can try to connect here http//easyclient.dnsd.me:22646 is free of charge atm.

On wallet i use this config with 25 AntminerU1 :

server=1
daemon=1
listen=1
rpcuser=any
rpcpassword=any
rpcallowip=192.168.*.*
rpcport=12646
port=57421
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
maxconnections=120
addnode=69.90.132.127
addnode=75.183.191.233

Regards

Thanks, my config was slightly different, but it still should have worked. I think my biggest hangup is I'm not sure how to work it since the Antminer has a built in version of CGMiner, and since they are networked through my router, rather than connected to USB Hubs connected to my computer, I'm not entirely sure how to get that working in terms of which IP do I use.

Still not having much luck solomining. I've got a spare antminer that I've been trying to solomine goat with, however I just can't get it running. It just refuses to connect.

To troubleshoot solomining, I always like to use netstat to see whether the coin client is listening to the correct ports, and something like netcat to verify that it is not blocked by a firewall or such. Also, verifying the rpcuser & rpcpassword can't hurt. (Which OS are you on?)

If that doesn't solve it though - did you try my other P2Pool node yet Smiley? I set it up shortly after the first one seemed to be dying. They're actually both working reasonably well now, though the second has a better valid shares rate. It's 'still' at http://goatcoin.p2p.0x0a.nl:22646 (IP changed, so same address, different node). EasyBTC also set up a P2Pool node which seems to be even better, but I'm not sure whether he's ready for the public yet at http://easyclient.dnsd.me:22646 .

I do use your pool, but I get something like 25% accepted shares. so I'm trying to switch over to solomining.

2039  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Disclose the identity owners of exchanges BTC-e.com on: January 25, 2014, 05:34:27 AM

Anyone who puts any money that they cannot walk away from (with a laugh) under control of someone they cannot ID and go after is a total dumb fuck in my opinion.  Bitcoin's short history is replete with examples of why.

That's part of the reason I don't have a BTC-E or Bitstamp account.  I value my document scans at about $10k so right there is plenty reason to avoid these two operators even if I could limit my losses by holding few funds with them.

---

Everyone who provides any 'financial services' to the Bitcoin community should be pre-doxed IMHO.  I wish someone would set up a service to do this.  Most legitimate and responsible shops will dox themselves, but it would be of value to have someone proficient verify anyway.

I agree on some points but disagree on the others. I lost 14 Bitcoins to MTGox back when they started needing user's ID to comply with U.S AML regulations. I'm not legally allowed to submit my ID to uncleared businesses/locations, so my money just sat until my account's deletion. I value my Identity very highly, not because I plan to scam, but because I value my privacy, and do not want to be bothered unless I do something that merits being bothered. I believe BTC-E is entitled to the same rights. They are actually an illegal exchange in the eyes of the United States, as they don't collect user's information, and don't obey U.S AML Regulation. By giving out their ID, they would compromise the safety of their exchange from attempted seizure. I think the number one selling factor for BTC-E is that while anonymous and in Russia, they don't have to fear shut down by the U.S, who has not been kind to Bitcoin exchanges and services. Mt.Gox is open with their identies, and are a legal business entity, but they have had millions siezed from them by the U.S Gov, so I don't find Mt.Gox for example to be safer to use than BTC-E, on the contrary, I exclusively use BTC-E because of their history of good business practice and honesty and their privacy policy. BTC-E doesn't require anything identifying of you, I think now they require an email account for withdrawl verification, but no other information is gathered from you.

Back in 2012 BTC-E was hacked when someone managed to inject fake Liberty Reserve USD into the exchange, where the attackers bought and withdrew up over $10,000 worth of Bitcoins with fake USD. BTC-E fixed the situation and refunded everyone out of their own pockets, which at the time of $5 BTC was a whole lot of money. After that, they registered in my book as the most professional exchange out there, as exchanges that have been hacked don't have the best track record. They refunded months of exchange fees and work in order to keep their customers, and I think it did wonders for their business.

Satoshi earned our trust anonymously, there are a lot of people here who we trust without knowing who they are, and of course that trust has to be earned. Sometimes it ends up biting us, and I can't say for sure that BTC-E wont scam everyone down the road, but I trust BTC-E far more than any other exchange because the owners and developers have shown their trustworthy qualities through their actions. There are plenty of public figures that were not trustworthy. We all knew where Trendon Shavers (Pirateat40) lived, many Bitcoiners had met him personally, had his contact info, etc, and that didn't keep him from scamming everyone. So I don't see why not leave BTC-E anonymous until they have given us a reason to hunt them down.

Thats my personal opinion anyway, if they haven't earned your trust, don't use them.
