1021  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 9/1/16 on: September 01, 2016, 01:39:23 PM
Listed a couple of new things that came in, notable the Elemetal Kraken rounds. Honestly speaking, if no one buys these, I'll be perfectly alright with that. These are in my opinion the most beautiful rounds I've ever seen. The detail is outstanding. If I threw a sticker on the back of it and called it a silver wallet, they'd sell out at 10x the asking price.

Single orders will receive free 1st class shipping, if you order 3 or more, priority shipping will be included.

*as a side note, the Provident Metals logo in the bottom left of the round is not actually on the coin  Tongue
they just had a reasonably sized picture that showed the detail well available, that I'm borrowing.

What can go wrong? They only mark it with checked for min. requierments, does not mean it will be success. Mistakes happen, but it will cost your users much less then it currently is.

Again, it is not about saying scam or not.

The OP is entirely about having moderators check to see if its trustworthy or a scam. What could go wrong, is there would be a huge margin for abuse. Someone could very easily promote their own financial interests by vetting something that shouldn't be, and not vetting something that should be. An alternative, is that no coins meet standards due to anti alt coin stances. Not only would it take a disproportionate amount of staff resources, but it would also require setting new rules for what is/isn't acceptable for a section that isn't the forum's main focus.

Similar proposals have been made before, but its always been a bad idea. What makes a coin trustworthy or not in the forum's opinion is whether it is a malware or not. All other negatives you might associate with alt coins ( Pump and Dump, ICOs, etc) are all characteristics of the developers and userbase, it has nothing to do with the technology.

Frankly speaking, the alt coin section isn't one that is really catered to here. It took me over a year just to get the subsections that exist now. We even encourage people to make their own alt coin forums, because Bitcointalk isn't really an appropriate place for in depth discussion surrounding all facets of an alt crypto ecosystem.

If they are unable to do that for  themselves, they shouldn't be doing it in the first place. Clonecoins are not scams, they might be bad investment decisions. As I said previously.

Thats why you need ANN threads, to inform those who can check by themself? If so,its pure illusion.

Again, if you provide such platform and if you provide Devs service to host their ANN threads, then it is you "staff" who should take care in first line what you allow on this forum. As you state that its hard to separate things, I do suggest that so called experts make their analysis before people invest in some obvious scam. Your argument that its everybodies own fault if they get scammed, which is not quite truth, if somebody read information on this forum and assumed it to be at least in some way correct, then of course this forum could be made responsible.

The forum I speak about has to deal with legal issues and was closed several times, even its DNS has been blocked for some time. Just because bitcointalk owners did not face any legal troubles because of that does not mean they will not face it, especially not if everything goes on as it was going on. Staff is clearly not able to follow all threads and so you cant protect your users, with that, you shouldnt leave it uncontrolled. On other side, you need to split repsonsibility. In my example, MPREP is the one who clearly fails regulary and he gets then all the blame, not administration or people who run this forum. My suggestion would even strenghten mods in their and make their work easier.

And then those "experts" are liable when something goes wrong. In addition, those "experts" could very easily be convinced to support something for financial gain.

Moderators have never at any point moderated scams/scam attempts. Its far too subjective to do so reliably, so its all members for themselves. Moderators clean the clutter, if people decide they want the financial freedoms associated with P2P transactions, they also assume the risks. If they don't want to do so, invest in government regulated and insured things rather than cryptos.

And again as I keep trying to point out.
The only thing that makes an altcoin a scam is if its malware. Otherwise its just a smart/bad investment. If theres a coin release and its a virus, report it, and it will be handled immediately.

I was the moderator of the Alt Currencies section for about two years, and I've seen maybe two or three "scam coins" those being ones with hidden malware in the wallets. It seems our definition of what constitutes a scam is completely different. Its not up to the forum staff to give investing advice.
1025  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for altcoin section on: August 30, 2016, 03:16:36 PM
This suggestion does not say it is scam or not, even not if there is a virus or not. This is mainly for your new users who are unable to go to git and check wallets by themself, if they are unfamiliar with the topic, they will not be able to recognise 100% clonecoin.

If they are unable to do that for  themselves, they shouldn't be doing it in the first place. Clonecoins are not scams, they might be bad investment decisions. As I said previously.

These guys are in the US already and have pretty solid prices. I've never ordered from them before, but I did a quick BBB check to make sure its not a scam site. Probably not a bad idea to look into them further if you do end up ordering from them.

1029  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 8/25/16 on: August 28, 2016, 08:31:43 PM
Question:

Are these items on first page only gold and silver you have?

I'm interested in 2016 gold pandas

I've got a few more things that I haven't listed yet that I'll probably get around to midweek so that I can do it all in one swoop. I do not have any 2016 gold pandas however. I'm actually really hesitant to order gold, especially non fractional pieces. I've had 2.5-10 gram bars listed at around that of which a pawn shop would give me for them and no one has bit yet. I'm under the impression that if I throw my funds into gold, it will be locked up for quite some time.

People have been most interested in generic silver at as close to spot price as I can get, so thats what I've been stocking.

I have had a set of the Privateer series 2oz rounds and can recommend them.

The design is in high relief with good detail well worth the small premium.

I couldn't agree more. I've only got one set at the moment so I'm not selling them, but I very well might in the near future if I can find a decent deal on them and order more.
1030  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 8/25/16 on: August 28, 2016, 07:30:48 PM
Thread is still active, just haven't updated it as I'm waiting for a few things to come in before I do so. Silver spot price is down quite a bit and the prices are moving up and down pretty rapidly so I haven't updated the prices. Next to every item is a breakdown of what I'm charging in terms of spot price + a premium, so in any case, that will be the correct price.
1031  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling >400 Oz Silver Bullion on: August 26, 2016, 04:51:35 AM
I'm looking at the 10 Gram Gold Perth Bars for .7535 and I am thinking "is that right?"  because that is around $434.00. On other sites, like http://www.jmbullion.com/10-gram-perth-mint-gold-bar/, it is listed for $448.62.  Why is there such a difference in price?  Thanks

Yes, the price is correct.

JMBullion is essentially my competition. They are a major bullion dealer that accepts Bitcoin. In order to get anyone to buy from me, I need to beat their prices. If I sell mine for $448.62 and they accept Bitcoin as well, I'd never have a sale.

That said, where JMBullion accepts Bitcoin at the same rate as cash/check, I can often trade BTC that I get from metal sales for fiat at a better rate. That way I'm able to offer bullion at under market rate, but still make something for my time. If you check everything I'm selling, its all well under market rates as I rely on the exchange rate whereas dealers rely on the premium over spot price to make their profit.
1032  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 8/25/16 on: August 25, 2016, 10:47:31 PM
No problem, thanks for the reply. What's the story behind that last coin you posted, looks really cool! Thanks again, always enjoy your thread and posts! Cheesy

Edit is that a giant octopus swallowing the ship? Super cool! Smiley

Yep, Its a 2 Oz silver coin produced by the Elemetal Mint as part of the Privateer series. One side shows the Kraken grabbing the ship, and the other side (well I'll just post a picture) says No Prey No Pay with the Jolly Roger.

the rounds are obscenely detailed. The images stick about 3ish milimeters out of the face of the coin, by far one of my favorite pieces produced to date. On top of it all, they aren't super expensive at only $10 or so over spot.

*picture from ProvidentMetals

And heres a link where I'd recommend to buy them. There are 5 coins in the Privateer set, 4 of which are for sale at JMBullion. The Kraken/Siren are my favorite, the Captain and Plank are pretty neat too. The one that isn't listed here is called the Privateer. It was the first of the set and is quite pricey, but not as neat looking as the Kraken in my opinion.

1033  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling >400 Oz Silver Bullion on: August 25, 2016, 10:20:44 PM
I've got a lot more smaller increment stuff and graded things that I may let go of.

edit:
Just curious - Any more graded items you may have, or did you change your mind? Thanks! Cheesy

I've got a couple of interesting numismatic pieces that I've ordered recently like: (pictured below) but nothing graded and slabbed at the moment.

*edit* ack the image size, lets leave them as links. Theres a reason I haven't listed them for sale yet though. They are happily sitting in my personal collection at the moment. I've got a lot of neat stuff that I may or may not list in the future, its just that much of it was picked by myself for myself.
1034  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Gold / Silver - BELOW SPOT on: August 25, 2016, 10:03:43 PM
JMBullion is a pretty good place to order from and they accept bitcoin. You won't find anything below spot but they have a deal for a 10oz bar at spot plus free shipping.

They also have new things on sale every Monday.

http://www.jmbullion.com/starter-pack/

JMBullion is a super solid bullion dealer. I highly recommend them for general fiat purchases.

What % under spot are you hoping to get and with how much capital? I've found that from large online retailers you can get about 2-3% under spot with a 3-4 million USD order if you grab products that they stocked just under a year ago.

You smelled something correctly. Just wondering why anyone would sell you any silver or gold for below it's value? Surely anybody wanting to do that would just walk into their local pawnshop, or find somewhere that will buy at current market value.

The best possible price that you will typically find from individuals is on par with what they would get selling on Ebay for common bullion. If you are looking for rarer numismatic pieces you can occasionally hit a good deal. Try searching sivler bullion at 2-3 am and you can pick up some interesting treats. That said, depending on how rare the piece is, its probably worth it to have a decent testing kit because its not the big reputable dealers that make spelling mistakes.
1035  Other / Meta / Re: REPORT 5 - @THEYMOS LIST US FORBIDDEN NAMES PLEASE - ACCUSATION OF SUCHMOON on: August 25, 2016, 08:36:02 PM
Ok, thanks for removing it if it was again against the rules. You are not very correct in your assumption, they used my name and my private data which is stolen, it is not available on internet. We already have real crime here. Lets go deeper in next posts.

Back to topic, as they were clearly breaking law, moderation and administration were all the time full aware about everything and then they just ignored it, all the time, ass addition I was threaten by all of them, just look at mprep's pm which I posted in investigation thread.

Back to your statement:
only place with you are allowed to post someone else's personal information is on the Investigations section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=227.0
theymos said the same, where I posted the name. Now explain me why does bitcointalk staff follow double standars. Let's start with the user who doxxed suchmoon as NAME THAT YOu FORBID TO WRITE DUE TO HYPOCRACY. Why hypocracy? Because they assumed it was me and many users including your staff were supporting it.

Great, we get closer. THIS IS USERNAME OF THE USER WHO DOXXED SUCHMOON, THIS USER SEEMS TO BE BANNED, PLEASE EDIT IF IT IS FORBIDDEN TO WRITE THE USERNAME OF THE USER WHO DOXXED SUCHMOON:
Alexandra Morgan (username of person who doxxed suchmoon)
Boris Tosovic (suchmooon and her gangbang gang using my name because they though I doxxed her)

Removr these usernames too if they break any rule. The one seems to be the real name of one bitcointalk user and the other one is my. Now I am in public known person and can always prove that it is me. For that your team tries to silence me instead to the the right thing.

Theymoss knows that this particular case is being investigated by authoritites, especially because invloved have acces to user databases and other information like medical information which is forbidden to share and it is also forbidden to accept such information and it is for sure not allowed to use it in such agenda like they did. As last, bitcointalk staff were talking part on this crime. This is what I do not understand, why does your staff take part on an crime which should end in pure silencing, especially not if your mods continue to spread myth about "Free Speech".

I can't find this user and do not want to repost the doxx.

After this, look at my Firstname Surname (or just my email) and explain why the user who used my name, addres and tel number was allowed to do it, where theymoss and moderation knew every detail about it.

You could also try to explain why was doxxing user immediatelly banned and I was banned 3 times because I pointed your staff to criminal act? Please exlplain it if you have any other explanation than Hypocracy.

EDIT:
I concentrated on posting the part that you asked for, immediately after I saw that full name was in pic and I immediatelly blured it and reuploaded. I can verify it with reposting of uploads (both) if you again do not trust my words. It is not my goal to break any rule, it is more the opposite.

Still incredibly confused, but whatever. All I care to address is your main question and related questions, I don't greatly care about any disputes individuals are caught up in. I'm just having a bit of a hard time picking out what you intended to say, but its getting clearer.

I dont really think I'm the best person to help you resolve your ongoing issue, since there seems to be a lot of prior back and forth with other moderators/admins/users and each time I make a reply, some new information comes out making my previous best guesses of the situation obsolete.

My best assumption at this point (again I'm sure it will be wrong and new info will come out as soon as I post this) is that this battle that you had previously was before the new Doxing rules were implemented. One of the quotes you have linked is from August 8th, so I'm guessing this has been a much longer ongoing thing. After August 5th, any applicable threads were moved to the Investigations board. If the threads you are talking about are still out there elsewhere, please report them and they will be moved there. As I said, my best guess at this point in time about why some users were allowed to do something and others weren't is because they were in two different times. Before and After the doxing rules came into play.

1036  Other / Meta / Re: REPORT 5 - @THEYMOS LIST US FORBIDDEN NAMES PLEASE - ACCUSATION OF SUCHMOON on: August 25, 2016, 07:47:46 PM
So this is about you posting someone's name and it being deleted due to the new no doxing rule I'd take it? I interpreted your first post as saying that you were banned for creating a forum account with a name similar to someone else's. The only place with you are allowed to post someone else's personal information is on the Investigations section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=227.0

You can read here for more info on where/when its allowed. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1576015.0

Edit* I also saw the image you had posted and that helped me better understand what you were asking. I did remove it however as I didn't want you accidentally getting in trouble for posting the name Theymos asked you not to, albeit partially blurred out. You can put it back up if you feel it necessary as I'm not 100% sure that it would constitute going against the ban warning, but I figured it would be on the safe side to do so, and since you posted the pm for my sake, I'd rather you not get banned for trying to help me help you.
1037  Other / Meta / Re: REPORT 5 - @THEYMOS LIST US FORBIDDEN NAMES PLEASE - ACCUSATION OF SUCHMOON on: August 25, 2016, 07:31:50 PM
the majority of your post made me confused as to what you were even asking/saying. The only "forbidden" names that will result in a ban are those imitating other forum members.

For example Theym0s, Saityspitoon, Sat0shi, etc. You can name yourself that of any real person you want, there are plenty who have. I have absolutely no confidence that Theymos sent you a PM saying that you couldn't be named A.Morgan. Unless you have left out 99% of the backstory.
1038  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 8/22/16 on: August 22, 2016, 01:05:59 PM

1039  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] SBSS - Silver Bullet Silver Shield on: August 13, 2016, 11:16:34 PM

That is the same coin, however the one linked is "Proof" which means it went through a different minting process and has a mirror finish.

This is the non proof one: https://sdbullion.com/silver/sbss-silver-shield-collection/silver-shield/sbss-silver-shield-new-years-1314-silver-bu-1-oz
1040  Economy / Auctions / Re: SBSS Silver Shield Bullet Silver Shield - 24h Auction! on: August 13, 2016, 05:18:04 PM
Figured I'd post here to help out Hhampuz's sale. These were purchased from me, so I'll provide a little additional background for anyone interested. These are SBSS New Years 13/14 rounds. With a total mintage of about 10,000 produced.

Silver Bullet Silver shield is a premium US mint producing highly collectible art rounds with a libertarian/anarchist slant.

"The first release of 2014 is the New Year's round having the 2013 SBSS reverse and the new 2014 SSG reverse. The
new 2014 Silver Shield Reverse shows the evolution of the original Silver Bullet Silver Shield series with it's original
47 bullets and shield to the later introduction of the trivium replacing that SBSS Reverse. Now the 2014 Silver Shield
fully embraces the Trivium design that made it's first appearance in 2012 and has made it's way into several
subsequent releases like Freedom Girl and Sic Semper Tyrannis. The 47 bullets remain as symbol of the atomic
number of silver. The overall clean design shows the maturity of the brand and message. The first release of the new
Silver Shield Series will be also the last of the Silver Bullet Silver Shield series with the New Years coin. This unique
double Reverse design not only marks the transition of years, but also the two brands."

A huge perk to point out is that these are already located in Europe. I don't imagine too many of the 10,000 produced made it over to Europe. Its a hassle to deal with importation of precious metals, so take advantage of your chance to grab one of these coins.
