2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bear market over? on: November 22, 2022, 04:04:44 PM
It seems that the bear market is not over yet. While it is difficult to predict exactly when a bear market will end, based on past trends, it could take a while. So, the thing that can be done to survive in the current bear market situation is to hold the asset in the long term rather than focusing on its current price. Moreover, many portfolios have been hurt by bear markets and may take longer to recover.
It's true that we have to wait long time to recover our portfolio but it will be starting to recover soon. It's time to hold strongly for long term and if possible it's good period to buy more to fill our bags. Many investors are in the loss and they're waiting for good time. We can't predict exactly when market will start for bull run but if we are able to hold strongly, we can get good ROI in the future.

Current strong bearish sentiment of market doesn't suggest that bear run will be over soon  it might continue for many months to come because the whole world economy is in crisis and crypto doesn't work in isolation, it gets affected by rise in inflation, decline in GDP growth. Once we see signs of improvement in world economy, crypto will definitely start recovering.
2043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is here to stay. on: November 22, 2022, 07:58:57 AM
Despite so many good news that have come to the crypto but none of these news were creating the hype. The bad news were still dominating the crypto market. I think that the latest news came from the genesis has been ruining the crypto market again, lending platform keeps halting user's money. This may make people starting to distrust the crypto market. I thought that if the trust will not come easily to the crypto market again. The bad news has been dominating everything.
Bitcoin is not so strong to handle it. It's not easy to attract the billions dollars that have been going away from the cryptocurrency.
But that's what happens in a bear market. Things take time to turn around and to get people trusting markets again isn't one week job. It could take a year and many people will quit at the bottom. This is something we have seen many times, but as it's happening on bigger and bigger scale EVERYONE is seeing it. And from what i pick up at reddit and different forums, public still don't get it. They think because it''s ponzi, and because FTX was ponzi. And they are happy it happened to "annoying" crypto people and i totally understand the bitterness. They don't even get that most of us are cynics too, they think we are all moonbois and libertarians and make articles like this. But that's their loss.

And OP right, big businesses understand that crypto is volatile and probably now are buying projects that they see solid and important, not just hype.

Well yes, The events are just repeating and the distrust keeps happening every market cycle and on the bear market specifically. There are a lot of FUDs, Bad news, and other type of negative things about crypto that makes the market collapse. We've been there a couple of times already and for me, I've expected this kind of scenario which bad events will come consecutively. Other people opinions are just a mediocore comments of people caught the bear market and lose some money. Comments like that are inevitable. All we can do now is to accumulate and do the right thing to prepare for the next bull market.
well this scenario often happens when the market is not healthy , I remember in 2018 there was a lot of bad news about the crypto market, and when entering in 2021 there was a lot of news praising crypto , because bitcoin scored ATH again, and many shouted that crypto is the future, and we'll see how they react now Cheesy

Bitcoin is behaving like cyclical assets and follows the trend in the overall economy like stock market which is evident from its strong correlation with stocks. Though currently it is in bear cycle since the beginning of 2022 but for sure it is not going anywhere, it is here to stay, it will bounce back but I think market will first enter in stabilization phase once Bitcoin is bottomed out then most likely we will see beginning of bull run by mid of 2023.

2044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could 17.5k BTC actually be 13-14k pre-inflation? on: November 22, 2022, 01:35:59 AM
So i'm basically just thinking out loud but with inflation going rampant and last 2 years everything went up at least 20% in price and value do you think that 17.5k
(which could be a bottom in current bear cycle) BTC could actually be 13-14K preinflation and 17.5k as of now a bottom adjusted for inflation?
Possible, but what is the point of thinking it that way? I mean prices is going down, we are in the bear market, it went from $69k to $17.5 or whatever price you think. So that's basically what happened in a long hard and grind bear market.

We will definitely have to bottom in this cycle, right now it's $17.5k. Maybe next year when the market is still in the negative in could be in $13k-$14k like your price pre-inflation, but it doesn't mean anything to bitcoin investors.

If I am understanding you correctly, you are trying to corelate value of Bitcoin with rising inflation. Since Bitcoin is deflationary asset, its price should have gone up with rising inflation because inflation reduces the value of fiat currency & increases price of commodities like Gold & silver but in fact it didn't happen and Bitcoin corelated itself with US stock market since inflation started rising. Unfortunately, markets are mostly driven by sentiments (greed & Fear) & rarely work on logic.
2045  Other / Archival / Re: Don't worry, bitcoin is cyclical on: November 21, 2022, 02:18:49 PM

2011 seen a grounded value of 30cent.
    2011 that bubbled to ATH of $32   = 100x

2013 seen a grounded value of $40.
    2013 that bubbled to ATH of $1.2k = 30x

2017 seen a grounded value of $900.
    2017 that bubbled to ATH of $20k = 21x

2021 seen a grounded value of $10k.
    2021 that bubbled to ATH of $75k = 7.5x

this means we may not see prices go over $75k until 2025
but we won see under $20k after 2024

the exception is this though
there might be other ATH inside the same cycles
but playing it safe of keeping expectations rational dont bank on it. treat next ATH as a bonus if before the next cycle begins
Perhaps this knowledge is already enough to buy bitcoin at 16k and in the future, in the next cycle, expect to get x3-x5 from your investments. This is excellent result, I don't know what kind of investment could give at least approximate results in terms of profitability. And given the trend that this time Bitcoin won't make x20 or x30 like previous cycles, it's still a very good profit.

Thanks for sharing your valued analysis which seems realistic in the context of current market situation & is certainly helpful for long term investors to take buying position in Bitcoin. Please also share your thoughts about the likely scenario if FED pauses interest rate increase because CPI is declining, and I think this trend may continue for coming months. Consecutive increase in interest rates has slowed down economic activity worldwide, it needs a stimulant to initiate recovery process.
2046  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is likely to head towards a price of $13,000 on: November 21, 2022, 09:25:59 AM
The recession understands people like you who are facing Investment and financial difficulties. Do you feel that a bear market in risk assets mimicking the global financial crisis, big losses are yet to come?
We have seen the impact of the decline in the price of this crypto and decreased our investment value. That means we are at a loss, but as long as you don't sell your crypto assets, the investment you see will definitely increase again after the bull market returns. You really have to be able to take care of your crypto assets and don't be lured in by negative news from out there because that can make you panic and sell your crypto assets right away. This is the time for us to become strong hands in holding our crypto assets so that when the bull market comes, we can get profits again.
For someone who is well prepared about the recession, they don't need to sell some of their cryptos only to have more money in them to use and to survive but for those who aren't then they will do the opposite thing. Cryptos should be helpful in terms of recession but not this way when we sell at a loss.

If only not because of the bear and the negative news, crypto markets are healthy right now and people can get something out of it to help them combat the problems of inflation and recession. This bear is at the wrong time not only because of that but also because people are in tight budget right now so they find it hard to accumulate more coins.
They should be able to buy more because using the same amount of money can get more units, which is very profitable for them. That's the point if we can share the capital we have so that we use the recession to buy crypto that has the potential to increase again. And that is also the point for us to divide capital for investment and money for daily needs.

The current bearishness in the crypto market is a defining moment for those coins so only those with real benefits will exist in the crypto market. This is also a market cleaning of useless coins.

No doubt, the cleaning process has already begun, though it is painful & could be lengthy but in the best interest of the market in the long term. New entrants in crypto market always suffer huge losses in such project which have no use case. Once cleaning process is complete, we will witness huge investment from intuitions and genuine investors.
2047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is about to pump on: November 21, 2022, 05:16:06 AM
I think the title is misleading, there is no pump this year or the next year. Most likely the pump will happen in 2024 or after the bitcoin block halving. As for the analogy that the OP has posted,  I guess the lesson is to buy cheap crypto right now, but you don't have to wait like 20 years to see a good gain. Right now is the right time to buy as we are in a bear market, the prices is so cheap that you can fill up your wallets, as many as you can and then wait till the next bull run. We might see massive gains that can be comparable to the dotcom profits.

I agree with you, market needs time to price in the sudden and unexpected collapse of FTX which I think has not happened yet. Bitcoin is consecutively making red candles on weekly chart & it even broke 16K this morning & fell down to 15,888. In such depressive situation no pump is likely to happen in the short term unless we hear some good news about inflation which will be good for all financial markets including crypto. In the meanwhile we should take advantage of this opportunity & continue accumulating good coins.

One thing I can predict with some degree of confidence that when Bitcoin hits bottom, it won't stay there for long and take a big jump because huge buying will come when market feels it is bottomed out. This may happen when any bad news comes in the market. This morning Bitcoin even broke 16K and hit its support around 15,888 on weekly chart. If it falls further then next support is around 15,200.
2049  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is likely to head towards a price of $13,000 on: November 20, 2022, 06:30:14 PM
If you look at recent market movements, indeed the price of bitcoin has the potential to fall to the $13k area, but it is difficult to predict it accurately. but in the current bear market situation the thing you can do is hold your assets and don't sell because you will suffer a loss. It's better to wait for the market to be bullish again because you can be sure that after the bear market ends and the bull market comes back, even though it might take a long time.

You are right, Bitcoin might slide down further but where is the bottom, it is hard to predict. FTX bankruptcy has vindicated structural risks of crypto industry which will continue hurting the market until new regulation are introduced to address this issue. In such circumstances usually investor take exit from market and wait for further slide down to buy digital asset at rock bottom price. The market is trading in very short range and can move in either direction. Any bad news can take it further down and at the same time any good news on economic front may take it to 20K.
2050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can we see a huge rise in the price of Dogecoin ? on: November 20, 2022, 01:56:20 PM
Doge always seems to ride the wave on every significant, sustained bull wave. I don’t find it to have much utility & will probably never have any great RL use case. It has a lot of followers though, it’s a speculative investment, a shitcoin in every sense of the word but it does seem to do well.

I don’t see any reason why it won’t do well again. I’m not sure if Elon has any juice left in his shilling tank. Maybe he’s done all he can do to pump it now. It might need another catalyst. It can definitely reach new highs in the next bitcoin bull run though.

Yes! It is likely to perform well in the next bull run and may break its previous ATH of 0.64 because it has strong backing of Elon Musk but the question arises when next bull run will happen, now market is in deep crisis & aftershocks of FTX collapse are not over yet. Some analysts are predicting that bearish run will continue till the end of 2022 , market will stabilize in 2023 after new regulation which are likely to be tough, & in 2024 we might see bull run before Bitcoin halving. Let's watch & wait how market plays out in coming weeks and months.
2051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is here to stay. on: November 20, 2022, 09:20:07 AM
People must also look on the bright side or positive side because there is a lot of innovation right now that is in cryptocurrency, these negative news or incidents happening on cryptocurrency right now seems to be given along the way.
For me, there is always a lot of positive news and innovation happening and coming to cryptocurrency compare to negative events, so we must be positive always. Take those negative events as lessons as we go along.
And what we took away from the negative events that happened to the FTX platform is a valuable lesson about why we should keep cryptocurrencies off the exchanges we only have to move them to the exchange only when we are ready to sell not to mention that this also helps protect us from panic selling, we looked to the dark side and took our valuable lesson And that's enough, there is a lot of positive news that has happened and will happen to crypto, but few people believe in them and help spread them. Everyone should be positive because the end of autumn is spring, so we have to learn from the mistakes of others and not take the negative events as the end, but As lessons, we learn.

The chaos created by collapse of FTX was similar to 2001 dissolution of Enron, the largest bankruptcy in US history. The complete failure of corporate control is a strong message to authorities to come up with new regulation to avoid such a huge crisis which has evaporated life time savings of many families all over the world.
The message from this collapse is loud and clear. Keep your asset in no-custodial wallets.

2052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [MASARI] coin speculation on: November 20, 2022, 05:20:16 AM
Hello guys,

I search the forum for a new baby coin to invest and found Masari - fork of Monero.

It look like have a great discord community, super dev named Thaer, already listed on two exchanges and look a good investment if you look at the last month price progress.

I'm not gonna bullshit you saying it will be the next Monero but i belive could have a great potential in the near future. I already invested a little bit but i will watch this coin closely for more. Any thoughts ?

It is your decision to buy this coin but always  invest what you can afford to lose. I think It is not the right time to take entry in any high risk and unpopular digital asset which just got listed and has no sufficient trading data to analyze its performance. We can buy Bitcoin & Ethereum on dips and keep accumulating during the bear run because these all well know coins and always perform well in bull run.
2053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Solana rise again? on: November 20, 2022, 01:04:05 AM
Not only Solana is facing a lot of difficulties when their biggest investor, FTX, has collapsed, besides, Solana's blockchain also has too many potential risks, if I remember correctly it has had outages 9 times this year and sadly they have not been able to fix this problem. This is unacceptable for a blockchain that is rated as the top in the market.

Solana won't die for FTX, although FTX is a major sponsor and contributor to Sol's success, FTX is not the only investor in Sol. Sol will really come back or not is up to them, as long as their blockchain gets better and better then other big investors will notice. One more thing, Sol's ICO price of 0.1$ means they are still very overvalued in the market, I predict it will continue to decrease in the near term.

The recovery of SOLANA depends on its team who need to work hard to find new partnerships and improve their block chain which had been shut down many times due to technical issues. This outage was the beginning of SOLANA decline & collapse of FTX added fuel to the fire otherwise SOLANA had made huge progress to build strong use case of their coin during the past 2 years. SOLANA is still one of the top 10 block chain with highest transaction speed which is its strength and gives it competitive edge.
2054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bear market over? on: November 19, 2022, 04:33:28 PM
"Is the bear market over? Hard to say, but a lot of the bad news was priced in. With a maximum drawdown of -28%, SPX discounted 85% of a typical 33% market decline and 78% of a recession bear market. I still like the 1946 counterpart-"

Though lot of bad news during the current year have been digested & priced in by the market but who  knows that no more collapse like LUNA & FTX will not happen in coming weeks & months because spill over effect of FTX is not over yet & many analysts are predicting that Bitcoin might slide down to 10K ( where Bitcoin will bottom out) before it bounces back . I think bear market will be over when Bitcoin hits 22,800 which is its 200 DMA and makes few green candles on weekly chart to confirm the reversal of trend.

2055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Solana rise again? on: November 19, 2022, 01:26:54 PM
Yes! It is possible in the long term but not in the mid to short term, the current circumstances of market and lack of any competitive advantage doesn't favor its quick price recovery. The slump we see in SOLANA is mainly spillover effect of FTX because of its close affiliation. The wounds market got from FTX collapse will continue bleeding for sometime until some macro level good news starts healing it.

2056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is here to stay. on: November 19, 2022, 09:26:41 AM
Despite all of the drama with FTX:

-Apple pay added USDC support
providing  an easy on-ramp for 500mil+
-Gaming juggernauts like Riot games are building in web 3.
-Billion dollar brands are incoming to the space.

Crypto is here to stay.

Indeed, crypto is here to stay, no matter it remains in bear cycle for long or short time & whatever turmoils like LUNA & FTX it goes through but eventually it will recover & make new ATH. Ups and downs are normal in crypto currencies & this Volatility provides opportunity to take new buying positions and make huge gains. All sectors of crypto space are making huge technological development; Hence, I don't think we are going to see anything like crypto is going away and disappearing.
2057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: METAMASK TOKEN BIGGEST AIRDROP EVER! on: November 19, 2022, 05:03:19 AM
We have been using Metamask's wallet service for a long time. But Metamask will now launch its own token. We can expect Metamask token airdrop. We hope it will be a big airdrop like the UNI airdrop. UNI airdrop is the biggest airdrop I have ever seen. I think the Metamask airdrop will once again attract crypto lovers to the airdrop.

I did some research on airdrops of 2021 and the details are as follows:

1- Uniswap    : upto 12,000 for some users

2- Paraswap : upto 18,000

3- ENS        : upto 20,000

4- DYDX      : The airdrop was valued from $4,414 to $135,692

The worth of  airdrop was valued at high price of the day,  when tokens were distributed.

The Metask is even bigger than these platforms so it can be life changing event for many. Let's hope that this event brings some joy in our life.

2058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon (MATIC) to $20? on: November 19, 2022, 12:31:06 AM
It's better not to have high hopes for things that are less likely to be achieved,
because if it turns out to be a failure like hoping on the Matic to reach $100 then we will be disappointed,
maybe it's better to be realistic and but after all everyone has their own point of view
I think it is not impossible to achieve. But the problem is we don't know when it will be achieved. $20 is too far from the current price (around $0,8), we can expect the price to reach $20 when the price can passe $10. Moreover, if you expect Matic to reach $100, it is like you expect Bitcoin to reach $1,000,000. In this matter, it is true that it seems not realistic to expect this because it is very very far from the current price.

Couldn't agree more with you, mate. $20 sounds unrealistic right now, especially when MATIC has a large supply of coins in circulation.
It is unrealistic to expect in the near future, but it is not something impossible to achieve.
Matic supply is large, but the team may burn them to trigger a significant price increase.

Given the current bearish market conditions when investors sentiment is extremely negative and fear of further fall has gripped the market, it looks hard for Matic to reach $2 but it can hit $20 in the next bull cycle. I think Matic team has already planned to burn matic token with every transaction to reduce supply in circulation but when it will be implemented that is yet to be seen.

2059  Other / Archival / Re: Don't worry, bitcoin is cyclical on: November 18, 2022, 04:35:39 PM
Even our attempt to describe bitcoin cycles has its limitations because surely historically there have been cycles in bitcoin, and we can look through bitcoin's  history to attempt to explain where bitcoin has been
by adding in more 'dynamics' actually cause confusion

I still like my way of describing it better.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

And sure, of course, the amount of detail, description and going beyond the basics will depend on the audience.. Sometimes people are not ready for more detailed explanations, and there are going to be frameworks that are more understandable to some people versus others depending on their own personal experiences and even their receptiveness to learning about the topic.

Devil is always in details; it is important to deep dive when you do root cause analysis to reach the bottom of the issue to understand what lies in the bottom. It is true that Bitcoin is cyclical, but we can never predict the length of the bull or bear cycle by simply analyzing the historical data because fundamentals keep changing with the passage of time. We all believe that bear run of Bitcoin will end but when, only time will answer this question.
2060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your lost from FTX collapse on: November 18, 2022, 12:05:10 PM
$0

I never leave any coins on the exchange, I always move my coins to my non custodial wallet. This is why never trust any centralized party, it's just a gimmick if they offer the exchange has high security and insurance funds. At the end, you can't trust anybody words when you get disappointed by their fault and you can only blame yourself since you're careless.

You are absolutely right; it is never safe keep our funds in centralized exchanges where they are always at risk because we don't have any control on wallets where they are stored so better to transfer them to decentralized exchange or personnel wallet. The lesson we learn from FTX collapse that "Not your keys, not your coins".

When one of the top 10 exchange like FTX can bankrupt then anything can happen to any exchange, no matter how big or small it is.
