se vi prendevate un a-900 giant era meglio, ci ho gia fatto 0.1 e mina che è una meraviglia, niente rotture di nessun genere

certo mi è costato 1.87 btc ma sono fiducioso che farà roi
2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Viability of a (Long Term) Mining Career? on: March 10, 2017, 07:34:49 AM
Thats a very interesting thread here, and the most interesting part that $1k/month ....guys i realized that most ppl here dont know anything about prices worldwide, you are living in realy expensive countries if $1k is not enough , do you know that $1k=20,000 egyptian pound per month and thats a f**kin rich man here, lol, i will give you an example here to clear that situation : uber here in cairo charges 1.5egp/km and thats is $0.075/km ......do your calculations , here i am paying a fixed charge for electricity $20/month no maximum amps just draw as much as your wire can carry .....my question why are you mining if $1k isn't enough ....thats nonsense

like i said in this thread, regular job give them 1-2k per month, but they want to make 60k with mining...this is nosense to me

mining is becoming as a stable as any other job out there
2043  Economy / Speculation / Re: prices are constantly changing how to predict the price of bitcoin? on: March 10, 2017, 06:46:25 AM
even if you can not predict the value, you can make a certain guess that have higher probability to be successful, those are the guesses that many good traders follow

bitcoin usually increase and decrease based on the news that are around it, without being a manipulators if you follow with attention these news, you can somehow draw a good result in your prediction

especially bad news have more on an impact on dumping than good news on pumping, i see this very often...
2044  Economy / Speculation / Re: can my bitcoin drop to nothing on: March 10, 2017, 06:40:48 AM
While it's theoretically possible for the price of Bitcoin to equal zero, there's a far greater chance of it increasing tenfold.

Just be patient. Don't ever sell unless you absolutely must.

zero is nearly impossible already, even in the case of a bug or an exploit or anything else, we can just hard fork if needed and maitain the value, investors will not dump way below their entry price, no oen in his right mind would do this

In case of some extreme global misfortune affecting both internet and bitcoin network we could see radical price drop.
Bitcoin is not backed by any authority, country or institution, there is no central bank being BTC which will lower/raise interest rates to help BTC.
At this point it is rather possible that bitcoin will reach $10k before year 2020 than hit bottom and will be worthless.

it's backed by demand it self, which is the strongest autorithy, in these catastrophic event you wuld worry about your bank which will be insolved at a higher % than bitcoin

i saw banks going bankrupt and customers lose all their money like nothing, any banks currently it's not more secure than bitcoin
2045  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: just run my first miner s7 on: March 10, 2017, 06:38:45 AM
you can mine with your miner 24/7, actually you must mine 24/7 if you want your roi to be in time, don't worry about the miner they are made to work 24/7

just check the temp and see if they are in the right range, nothing else is important, for maintanance, i usually do it in 1-3 months time
2046  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Mining still profitable? on: March 10, 2017, 06:37:04 AM
you can pay $1900 for one x11 asic, against $1450, $450 difference

still i prefer to consume only 200 watt than 1400, it will last longer with that consumption and it's better for those that don't have 0.1 cent like me

Where can you get a baikal a-900 giant for $1900? If you could get it for that cheap, it would blow the S9 out of the water.

you need to be part of a group buy, i can actually buy one from them directly for that much, i just contacted them on skype, they are very polite and have a nice support, also their shippig is very fast, usually 3-5 days maximum

1900$ for baikal a-900 is awesome, wonder how much do they charge for shipping to europe
look at the dash prices now,if the trend continues one could achieve ROI in less than 4-5 months
besides, s9 can only mine bitcoins while baikal can mine a plethora of coins and consumes much less energy

they charged to me $97, which is too much because i had to pay for the customs an additional 50 euro, very annoying

i'm asking if for the next order they can write a value of 45 euro which is the one that can avoid the customs here

don't play with fire, the value is there for a reason:the customs could just "lose" your items and happily compensate you with the 45 euro listed value
I don't know what country you live in,but this happened to friends of mine alot (they have business with China and send-recieve different goods)
so make sure you know what are you doing and calculate the risks involved
sometimes it is better to pay extra than to be left cursing the corrupt customs

to do this they need to know how much the thing is worth, i don't think thye have any clue about its real value, you can even put $20 and they would pass it

despite this it's all tracked with UPS, if the package stop at the customs they cannot simply say that it was lost....
2047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Blockhain is dead. on: March 10, 2017, 06:33:55 AM
There is no problem with bitcoin but with people, and as I am forced to use much higher fees I'll slowly migrate to alts.
Bitcoin won't fade away over night but if continues to perform this way people slowly turn to other coins.

this will never happen, the sole reason why altcoin have not this problem is because they have a niche market activity, they have no merchant they have not the same amount of tx per day as bitcoin

otherwise you would see on those altcoin the same problem as bitcoin, minus those few alt that implement some sort of scaling like monero, and well litcoin is lucky with the 4MB limit at the cost of more orphan...
2048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Blockchain.info is in a good position despite the rising fees on: March 10, 2017, 06:30:22 AM
Sounds like that would be going in the direction of trusted third parties and away from the original 'distributed consensus' Bitcoin was supposed to be promising.

there is no fully decentralization anyway, people are still using exchange which are centralized service, to spend their bitcoin, if bitcoin was serious about decentralization we would have a buil-in wallet exchange

it seems that people after all don't really care about this kind of decentralization, they just want security at all cost...as for blockchain info i hope they fixed all their security hole that were there in the past
2049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.14.0 Released on: March 10, 2017, 06:27:13 AM
I have just downloaded this version  but it's fine. I do not know what is your problem?
The wallet synchronazing will take 5 days or more to update blocks. Please be patient for it.

that's not always true, it take one day in my case to sync, it really depend on your ssd speed and cpu, if you have low internet speed also it's a factor

would be curious to see with a 960 pro m2 how fast it would sync...
2050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: March 09, 2017, 07:43:36 PM
apparently by lowering the mem at 502 with spreadcoin you can make more hash, like lbry...
2051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: March 09, 2017, 05:03:24 PM
I had to revert to the previous spreadminer mod, the new one has a chance of hard freezing the rig when the miner starts. Anyone had this?

all fine here, intensity 30 with 1070 and i use 70% tdp or lower, the peak in consumption is very high with spreadcoin, not like other algo, i dunno if it is bad coding or it something else

Pool hashrate 200GH. Need more pools...  Grin

it's not correct the net hash is below 100, check the client
2053  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Open Frame Rig on: March 09, 2017, 08:52:13 AM
How much for one frame incl. shipping cost to Germany?

i missed this post, was busy lately...70 euro for the frame + 15 euro for shipping, 85 euro total, that is 0.078, i can do 0.075 depend on the btc price
2054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [NETKO][NETKO] PoW/PoS | NO PREMINE | BLAKE2S | 8.MARCH 2017 on: March 09, 2017, 08:44:33 AM
Algorithm is BLAKE2S, its possible mine netko with rent rig? on nicehash or miningrigrentals i see black256-14-rnd, black256-8-rnd, etc. which one i use for mining/rent the rig?

black256-14-rnd is blake2s
2055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt v3.5.12, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: March 09, 2017, 08:24:58 AM
no support for solo mining right? there was a coin with very very low hash, i was thinking to give it a try with cpu, since with gpu would be overkill

but the miner only support stratum connection...
2056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Burned PCIe to PSU connector on: March 09, 2017, 08:14:30 AM

and the last version come with that library inside already
2058  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy, Sell, or just watch on: March 09, 2017, 07:36:45 AM
if you really believe that bitcoin will be $2k or more one day one not keep buying until you invested what you can afford to lose, if you invested everything possible, you have nothing to worry about just watch

bitcoin is a niche market, and EFT will make it grow by a small factor, EFT is not the final point, only the beginning, and every time bitcoin retreat i see it as a good opportunity to buy

i fact by buying at every dump that happened you could have made a great profit today
2059  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: mining not profitable - why?? on: March 09, 2017, 07:33:32 AM
mining is propfitable for those that have up to 0.1 cent electricity, but without proper scaling of your farm you will earn not that much

and you don't need a rig to mine bitcoin you need an asic, for the sha256 algorithm, rig are used to mine altcoin

for now there are asic for bitcoin, asic for scrypt coin, asic for x11/x13/x14/x15/quark/qubit, and gpu rig that mine everything but not so efficient for those algo that have asic
2060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: real btc usage on: March 09, 2017, 07:01:37 AM
hi

is there a way to find out how many BTC are really used to buy things.

e.g the amount of BTC that are transfered through bitpay transactions and similar services.

thank you

It does not make sense to use bitcoin to buy things so this would be a horrible way to measure usage. I would guess that makes up less than 1% of usage of bitcoin.

what? i had to step in here, because what you said it's wrong on so many level, bitcoin usage of course must be measured with the purchase you made with it

not with dumping for fiat or trading, or anything else, after all bitcoin is also a currency not only a tool for speculators or store of wealth

hi

thank you

first visit their website (bitpay or any of others) and see if they have some kind of statistics on their website, if not you can contact them and ask them nicely if they could release some statistics in their blog or on their website.
for example some bar chart showing the amount of bitcoin that was sent through bitpay or any other merchants each month/week/day

edit: did a quick google search for "bitpay stats" and this came up:
https://blog.bitpay.com/bitcoin-a-new-global-economy/
enjoy:
[img/]https://ghost-storage-production.s3.amazonaws.com/2015/Aug/BitPay_LatAm-1438718271536.png[/img]

this don't really tell us how many bitcoin are being used to purchase stuff with them, those transaction can be very small like 0.01-0.1 range

it's better if you see the amount of bitcoin sent throught bitpay
