2061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Take This 2 Minutes Nine Step Quiz To Access Yourself In Gambling on: August 30, 2022, 12:18:58 PM
Took the quiz and I'm surprised that I got high-risk gambler even though I just gamble once or twice a month. Though I admit that I get greedy sometimes when my adrenaline is high telling me to play more ending of losing all my capital.

I don't know if the test is really accurate that I need to consult someone about my gambling habit because of the result because for me I don't consider myself that addicted yet that I gamble way more than I can afford to lose and only do it when I have spare amount of money.
If you are in control of your financial management then you don't have to take some random survey too seriously and try to find the solution. The result shows that you take high risks while gambling it doesn't mean it can harm you unless you lose your control of your betting and financial stability.
2062  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: August 30, 2022, 10:48:09 AM
Saving ones money is good but could be a disadvantage during inflation. During inflation, price of goods might have increased rending your saved money valueless. In 2020, a friend bought his middle generator at #46,000. I had the same amount but decided to save mine in bank. Last week, I decided to buy the same generator, just to check a store online to see price was now  around #85,000.

See the difference in price within 2 year. Bank can never put such difference as interest on the saved money.

CONCLUSION
During inflation,
👉👉always purchase all you need on time without delay to avoid rapid increase of such commodity.

👉👉Unnecessary saving should be avoided. Savings should only be made from excess income which one doesn't need at that moment.

Lastly, investing is highly preferable to savings.
Savings the Fiat cash for long term is stupidest mindset, if you have money and you know that you don't need that for years then go for investment atleast something with guaranteed returns which is higher than the inflation in your country. Savings in the gold bonds is highly recommended if you did that instead of just keeping it as cash you probably bought what you need now.

2064  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Resisting the below twenty thousand level on: August 30, 2022, 05:53:30 AM

At the moment Bitcoin is at a decisive level to either level up or pull back below the 20k dollars level, in the next coming day Bitcoin price will witnesses a lot of volatility we should be prepared for that and make a lot of speculation that can help analyze the market and it grows.
You said everything wrong, after 24 hours nothing changed literally nothing. Just now I checked the last 24 hours price change which is 0.2% that is too much negligible for bitcoin and it remains at 20K so there is no decisive day and no one can predict which day will be that day so better not to waste your time to find the perfect moment.
I hope you have not misunderstood my point, but from what you have said, you are absolutely right no body can predict the direction the price will go and if we are sincere with our self we are in for a long-term Bitcoin bear market and this has been witnessed in the price over the weeks past.

But at this point when Bitcoin touched the below 20k price yesterday before it quickly reband back to 20k, it shows some resistance level up which points to the fact that 20k is a strong resistance level.
Even I do accept that 20K has good resistance point simply because in the previous cycle it was the ATH price of bitcoin, apart from this I don't have any statistics analysis to prove my claim so I just go with my instinct.

A while back when bitcoin dropped to $17K in no time it hoped back to $23K region but it all happens naturally and no one can actually predict the next move even now if something disastrous happen even manipulation can bring down the prices further.

The Sandwich story looks crazy for me, but I hope they named the bread and meat as Sandwich a lot later than it was invented if I am not wrong. And the slot machine dispense actual products which I saw in my childhood either personally or in some kind of movies which I don't remember now but its definitely a pleasant experience right.

FedEx founder got some real luck that is why he went back and started everything now it almost one of the biggest delivery company.
2067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you all ignore alternative tech on Bitcoin? on: August 28, 2022, 03:58:22 PM
Simply because bitcoin didn't slip away from its fundamentals while most shitcoins including the top altcoins turned to favour for something but bitcoin remain how it was which gives the confidence for a common man to have more trust on it than any other shitcoins.

Probably a coin will replace the bitcoin in the future because change is the only thing in this temporary world but the coin will replace the place is yet to be identified in my opinion.

As a regular person I can't be able to remember 100s of passwords even 10s which is completely random combinations of characters so that is the reason why password managers exist. I do agree that storing password in an online server is not safe but what is the alternative? We need to learn encryption and decryption along with our own server to save all the data of us, and I am wondering is that thing is really possible?

LastPass premium user here. There's no way to export your passwords, so the only way to migrate to another platform is to copy and paste all the users and passwords - a tedious and error-prone process, and burns you out quickly if you have hundreds of passwords.

Copy paste is one of the unsecured way so it can't be a good choice however it there any real alternatives apart from trusting the third party service providers?

Like completely decentralized and offline something that can fit into this crypto era!
2069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this the Extreme of Gambling Addiction? on: August 27, 2022, 05:17:04 PM
This is nothing related to the gambling addiction and we have to stop saying crimes related to gambling field is a cause of its addiction, because we see its just a group of people who stole money from breaking the machine right so its pre planned robbery by the group who is in need of money.

We can see this as an addiction if those four individual gambled with the robbed money and lost or win money from it but as far as I can see there is no such thing happened.
2070  Other / Off-topic / Re: LastPass - Notice of Recent Security Incident on: August 27, 2022, 03:18:03 PM
I think that is why I do not use a password manager. I keep my password in the safest place on earth(My mind). Though I do use an external device to keep my password safe in case I forget them which usually does not happens.

2071  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange's payment methods on: August 27, 2022, 01:28:46 PM
I've always wondered why a lot of exchanges don't support certain payment methods. To mention a few: Transferwise, Skrill, Revolut, PayPal, Neteller, Paysafecard etc.
 .
.

Even I am not sure the actual reason but recently I came across that some exchanges I usually trade removed the certain payments methods which existed in the past and the exchange itself promoting the p2p mode for buying their coins then start trading in their exchanges so they can avoid lot of complications in AML compliance and also get the benefits of trading fee double the time along with promoting their exchange's token.
2072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play Slots? (long sessions / jumper / focussed) on: August 27, 2022, 11:13:07 AM
I am very curious to know how people are playing Slots.

Option A : Do you play one slot for a long time, until you hit the feature or until you win something big?

This is me, expect the word hitting big I would include the term until I feel enough or exhausted the money.

To be honest when I play slots I don't record the wins and loss but I will keep an eye on the history, if I see only the reds in the session then I postpone the bet as well.

Slot is more fun which keep us on the edge while rolling that is the best part we as a common gambler has to experience not the RTP or returns.
Playing slots certainly brings a lot of fun, especially if you are winning most often, or if you only play without being bothered how much you have lose already. And before you knew it, you have lose already all your penny and you’re now struggling to win them back. That is why I prefer to jump from one slot games to the next slot games, most particularly when I feel I’m not lucky here anymore. Or jumping from one casino to the other casino if that strategy works for you.
Changing the game or even the casino and beleive it will bring win when we are on a losing streak can't be considered as a strategy it's just a blind belief that our luck may change when we do this. You can avoid big loss by depositing only the money you are willing to spend for the day so you don't have to worry about keeping the records of wins and loss, if you lost more than wins then eventually your balance will become zero so it will trigger that 'Okay its the time to stop', let's see what will happen next time and move on.

And most of all better to know reality than illusion.  I wonder how can an average earner person survive if 70% to 80% of his income goes to assets.  People have to pay rentals, monthly bills, and personal maintenance, food, transportation etc..  For a normal employee or a minimum wage earner, it is lucky to have an excess of 20% of their monthly salary. In my place in order for me to safely invest my 70% income, I need to earn at least $5k per month which is impossible because the minimum wage in my country is only $10.15 per day taxes and miscellaneous charges haven't been deducted from that.   It is ideal to save and invest but the percentage OP is suggesting is way overkill!  Grin
Don't forget when you are earning more then you will also spend more that is called lifestyle trap this can happen for anyone like when they are jumping from $6K salary to $10K they will add something into their life to show off but that can be completely avoided in the sense when we realize the importance of savings and investments which are the ways to achieve financial freedom and early retirement.
2074  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Lost, Stolen or Hacked Crypto - Tax Implications on: August 26, 2022, 07:03:37 PM
Very interesting discussion

Indeed.

The problem lawmakers face is that it is very easy for someone to say they have lost their Bitcoin private keys , for example, and there is no way to check whether they are telling the truth or lying and have them stored in a safe a few feet underground.

If the legislation allows the simple claim that you have lost them to be counted as a capital loss, it gives a lot of scope for the declarants to cheat. On the other hand, if it is too restrictive, it can be unfair to those who have really lost the keys and have no way of proving it other than their word.

This is why the US should simply do what most other nations have done and only charge taxes for capital gains when you actually cash out. Then there is no incentive for liars to lie. And it doesnt unfairly punish those people who are just swapping coins to move them to different wallets.
It really depends on how government see the cryptocurrencies, they know it can be used to purchase things without actually converting into the fiat that maybe the reason why they implement taxation even for the crypto to crypto transaction and also is a tactical step to discourage the usage of cryptocurrencies by people and let the people to use their own paper money controlled by their authority.

We can't make the laws on our own, if we do then we will be considered as criminals who violated the laws of government so we have to ise the power of choosing the right person as the leader.

There is no criteria made for getting merits like you described in the above story, each and every member can decide which and what kind of post they have to merit and that applies even to merits sources as well so in short anyone who contribute in someway get merits.

And someone doesn't need to be worried if they are not getting merits, if they are not spamming and only posts if its necessary can exist here as well. The ranking is here for the signature space only and every feature will be same for jr. Member and sr.Member.

The IP check and the address check is somehow overkill.  I for example live in address A while my IP address location is somewhere in address B since most of the connection in our country has a dynamic IP address and changes in location from time to time.  So does this mean that my account will be temporarily blocked if they found out that the IP address does not match my home address?  ~
I think its overkill to be consider like dynamic IP will gonna subject user account for verification because we all know that most of the router use a dynamic IP as default. I’m assuming that they are pertaining to the country as location described and not the the different IP address on same country. ~

Most of the ISPs are indeed assigning dynamic IP to their customers, there is static IP additional service available, but still, a majority of consumers are not using that. Based on my experience with KYC/AML process, some companies dealing and checking with IP-related information are based on region, because they know the IP-based location can't be pitch-perfect.
Since we are talking about things we are doing online then anything can be manipulated with very less knowledge so as an addicitional security these kind of features or we can call it as regulations from the government side to ensure the security for the consumers, so that is what the casinos are following and no crypto casino wants the mandatory KYC or verification process at first but to reduce the risk for users funds this will exist for sure.
2077  Economy / Economics / Re: Asset and liability, one key factor for poverty among most Africans on: August 26, 2022, 12:43:28 PM
Conclusion
👉👉Let 70%- 80% of your income goes to asset. It is better to invest ones money on asset than getting liabilities that will bring no income.

👉👉Only acquire liability if the liability will add value to you, your business or improve the income made in your business.

👉👉Only acquire liability after gotten a good investment that is capable of providing enough returns for your home and the liability purchased maintenances.

First of all its is not really possible to expect someone to invest their 70% of their income, even if they invested 20 to 30% then they will attain financial freedom sooner and probably can live the life sfter retirement peacefully. So I just wanted to keep the amount to somewhat realistic which is 25%.

Better realize the difference between needs and wants so they can spend money economically.

Possibly yes, you maybe asked to verify your identity whenever they feel any changes from the normal behaviour which is like automated thing if I am not wrong and you can claim that its annoying but at the same time it can be a life time saving for someone who lost their account which got funds in the hands of wrong person, right?

If a casino does the verification just for the sake of denying the reward from the bets then sooner or later their reputation will get ruined so its like building their own burial just to save little.

You can use the serious discussion board for these kind of queries?... Anyway I like the idea of entrepreneur child board under the economics just to see what are the new ideas and how we evolved from the traditional thinking. Wink

But OP remember this is crypto forum so you may seek more knowledge about cryptocurrencies here not the way or free ideas to be shared to make more money in this fast moving world, nobody is going to reveal the million dollar ideas for free.
2080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore is the second country to follow in El Salvador's footsteps, do you agr on: August 25, 2022, 05:34:03 PM
I understand what you are trying to say but I deny the fact regulation means the government is accepting the bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, sometimes government if it doesn't want the people of the country to use bitcoin but also in the same time they don't want to take the blame of a ban what they will do is simply implement the unfair tax rates like 30 to 40% which is too much right for a common man so he may lose his interest if he has to pay half of his earning to the government as an individual.
I not understand what in government minds when they try accepting bitcoin as legal currency transaction but most disappointed when implementing about 30% until 40% tax rate. Looks crazy when have transaction digital assets adopt very bigger tax and how come taking profit as investor or trader when government blame with values for tax rate. Have planning did by Indian government because they want give space and make bitcoin as legal transaction in their country but have bad side with tax rate reach more than 30%. I think give up if tax rate above 30% and not have way for us get profit more than 50% every day. My country have adopt tax when transaction selling or buying altcoin assets with exchange local market, they not care about loss or not keep pay tax each transaction made.

Many government proposes or implement laws without knowing what is going to be the reality, 30% may look fair for them but if the rate applies for small and big traders equally then its a flaw. When taxation system was introduced it meant to collect tax from rich people and serve for the others in the country but now everything changed the richest person in the world is paying less tax than his employee so its time to make better taxation system all over the world.
