2081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BEAM | Mimblewimble | Private | Scalable | No ICO | No Pre Mine on: March 10, 2021, 03:41:06 AM
Now I see they are the same. Two days ago they was different.
It's looks like devs changed exe file in github after I posted message about that.
But they not answered why files was different.
Team can modify wallet and fix bugs or integrates new features. I don't know what are differences here but if you always verify the wallet you download, you will be safe.

On the Github of BEAM, the team writes a guide to verify Beam wallet's release binaries. Don't trust what I quoted and visit that link to get details.
Verifying release binaries

Go to https://keybase.io/beammw and get the Public PGP key.
Download the signed binary file (with extension .asc) you want to verify.

2082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading View Plans on: March 10, 2021, 03:23:21 AM
Why buy these plans on TradingView at all? This site is also good for free. Yes, there will be a bit of advertising and limited features, but overall it's not fatal. All of these additional indicators are unnecessary. There is a sufficient number of free indicators that very few people fully understand. But I do not recommend using indicators at all. All you need is a clean chart. No indicators. Maybe only volume indicators, but they are included in the charts by default. This is more than enough.
I agree that volume is important when you are considering any chart. You also right about clean charts but I disagree that no indicators at all. Indicators can help but if people add too many indicators into chart, they will have mixed thoughts and don't know what meaning of indicators give them.

Each person will build up a personal trading or investment style and will have personal favorite indicators to use. Abundant indicators are useless and harmful.

In bull market, clean charts with candles and volume are enough.
2083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: metamask question on: March 09, 2021, 02:21:55 AM
Smart contracts consume more gas, therefore, token transactions are more expensive.
I also don't understand the actions of many users actions of many users. Why use uniswap when trading on a centralized exchange.
Perhaps the user decided to trade on uniswap to receive future distributions of tokens or other boluses for uniswap users.
Hope for airdrops, bonuses are one of factors that people accept risks and use new DeFi exchanges. They hope that some day those DeFi tokens will have big values and they might be luckily enough to use those decentralized exchanges too early to receive big amount of tokens from airdrops. Like what happened with Uniswap and UNI token.

The DeFi hype is crazy and it blows my mind when it has been lasting about one year and has not yet been stopped or decreased in their attraction. DeFi projects are created everyday.

DeFi projects now are trying to move from ERC-20 chain to Binance Smart Chain (BSC) or make a bridge between 2 chains. They think it can help their projects look good.

2084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum on: March 09, 2021, 02:17:45 AM
You are currently credited more than 20 percent of increase from your original money. If you ask me, it is not a small profit in the percent you are earning from capital investment.

20% sounds a small profit in bull market when coins rise with 100%, 200%, 500% or more but believe me, soon you will realize that profit is only profit when you take it. Next two years, you will understand that 20% increase sometimes is very difficult to touch on. It is what you will feel about in bear market.

So, take it and don't consider it as a small profit.
2085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT and USDC Questions on: March 08, 2021, 02:04:29 AM
Wait im confused.  So if you trade btc or altcoin for usdt or usdc on binance... which usdt or usdc are you getting?
You should not worry about it. When you trade BTC to USDT or USDC, you will have a credited amount of USDT or USDC on your balance.

You will have options to withdraw your USDT or USDT from Binance. They give you different options to withdraw. Options here are the chain you want to use to move your USDT or USDC. Different chains give you different withdrawal fees (people gave you posts and link to check).

Your next task is decide the chain that is supported by the wallet or the exchange you are using and will use it to receive your USDT/ USDC withdrawal from Binance.
Moving your USDT or USDC cross chain (from OMNI layer to ERC-20 chain will cause a permanent loss of your USDT, example). Don't worry about that as you will always see the warning from exchanges on the chain on which the address you use is created.

2086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The largest companies use blockchain technology on: March 08, 2021, 01:55:00 AM
For the third year in a row, Forbes magazine published an article titled Blockchain 50. In this article, Forbes lists companies that are leading the way in deploying distributed ledger technology with revenues or valuations of at least $ 1 billion.
Any blockchains/ public ledgers are developed by those companies will be centralized ones. It help them to manage their company operations better and interact better with other companies or customers. It is good and is what blockchain technology will change the world.

However, the centralization contains big risks and those companies totally control ledgers they create for their companies. They can be enforced to change by law regulations.

Welcome Big Tech companies to the blockchain revolution but don't put your capital or store all your capital on their ledgers in the future. Be your own bank by choosing and using bitcoin public ledger and non-custodial wallets.
2087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Advice on trends on: March 07, 2021, 05:50:46 AM
Asian wake-up time?
Which is around 8:00AM GMT +8 / or UTC 0:00.
Why do you think of the Asian wake-up time? I think the US has more contribution and effects on the crypto market, not the Asian nations.

I can't say it is only Ethereum and Litecoin only, but the market itself or Bitcoin and then other altcoins will follow Bitcoin price actions, especially these days like if Bitcoin dumping you can see other altcoins is dumping too, some are dumping much hard than Bitcoin.
Ethereum can be corrected deeper after this bounce. Litecoin can be corrected in the same way but it has more chance to rise up more after this bounce. I bet on a deeper correction for Ethereum but a rise for Litecoin.

I think that Bitcoin, Ethereum and some new hot altcoins as Polkadot or old altcoin Cardano will be corrected seriously. It will give more capital to old altcoins as Litecoin.
2088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My email and phone have been hacked, is my bitcoin safe? on: March 07, 2021, 03:34:23 AM
Hacker is trying to trap you don't click the links otherwise you will be hacked again. I would advise you don't use the same computer to access your ledger Nano. Try to get back your email id through support and change the passwords and do not click any link from an unknown source even do not open any link from a hacked email. Your ledger is safe unless a hacker accesses your seeds that are still safe. As far as I think it's not easy to hack Ledger Nano but you should also be alert while using it live.
Reset the infected computer. Scan it with antivirus software (bought version, not free or cracked version) and re-install the OS.

Phishing attacks are very popular and I can not get into the shoes of people who have their accounts hacked because of phishing attacks. They don't care to do any careful checks, double check what links they receive before click on it and log in their account.

Ledger has bad reputation with data base leak. I don't know how the company manage their data base and let it happened.
2089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin consumes 'more electricity than Argentina' on: March 06, 2021, 11:19:18 AM
“This means that Bitcoin's energy use, and hence its CO2 production, only spirals outwards.

“It’s very bad that all this energy is being literally wasted in a lottery.”
He said it because he did not buy his lottery ticket if he does not believe in bitcoin or did not invest in bitcoin if he believe in bitcoin.

Quote
“Elon Musk has thrown away a lot of Tesla's good work promoting energy transition,” Mr Gerard said. “This is very bad... I don't know how he can walk this back effectively.

"Tesla got $1.5bn in environmental subsidies in 2020, funded by the taxpayer.

"It turned around and spent $1.5bn on Bitcoin, which is mostly mined with electricity from coal. Their subsidy needs to be examined."
What he will say if Elon Musk buy gold, not bitcoin. Gold and bitcoin have production costs and $1.5 bn investment from Tesla is not total available bitcoin. It was not created, mined and produced all CO2 emission from bitcoin mining.

The cost of mining bitcoin increases when more people join and mine bitcoin. It leads to a rise of bitcoin network hashrate, then the cost to mine one bitcoin increases. If less miners are actively mining on the network, less cost for one bitcoin.
2090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where does Elon and Saylor store their bitcoins? on: March 06, 2021, 07:14:22 AM
Maybe at a cold wallet or any type of hardware wallet because I believe that they know how dangerous it is to store that large amount of bitcoin in an online storage. Or they might be using different addresses and wallets to store their bitcoin, this way they can prevent a one-hit one-kill type of attack.
They would store their bitcoin in different wallets and secure those wallets. If I was them and I have a big capital like that, I would not store all bitcoin in one wallet. Lose one and lose all bitcoin.

Not only this, they would consider different wallets and multi-signature wallet can be chosen.

Quote
I don't think that we should be worrying about where does this institutional whales are storing their bitcoin because I believe that it is none of our business and the only way that it is our business is when we are planning something bad about it.
It is not hacked bitcoin and owners are legit so they will care about their investment, not as hackers. Hackers can dump their bitcoin but whale investors won't. They take profit when their targets are reached and not dump their bitcoin due to instant need of money.
2091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its a bull trap now on: March 05, 2021, 02:27:08 AM
^^, January we have 26%, and then February we have 23% dip, give and take.
They are opportunities to buy bitcoin at discounted price and buy up the dips.

But during those times the market didn't went on a bearish phase, but instead took a rest and then the price started to grow in the next 3 weeks. And I think this is what we are witnessing again, yes, past result doesn't mean it will continue, however, if we treat graph line a friend then we are going to see some similarities that may help us in our trading and being a investor in crypto, IMHO.
The Bitcoin wiki presents the price history of bitcoin and its growth from 2009 to 2021. Visit and see the section for Prices and value history, with the table "Bitcoin value history (comparison to US$)". Despite of rises and falls that are necessary for market, bitcoin price is increasing in 10 years.

Why look at minute, hour, day, week or month candles but don't look at year candles?

2092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its a bull trap now on: March 05, 2021, 02:11:17 AM
If you have fresh investments , do not invest now. wait for 2-4 weeks lets see.  November to now almost 4 months came bull market without major bear signals.
Since the start of 2021, there are two big corrections with more than 20% of decrease. They are big corrections indeed but they are healthy correction for the on-going bull run. In bull market, corrections are fuel for higher price but if you are waiting for any big correction like 50% or more, hmm you will miss chances to hop on the bull train.

I don't care at which price bitcoin drops to but if it is more than 20% of correction, I am in definitely.

Quote
now pop out some signals. So now bulls are temporary. Please keep your hard earned money for weeks.
Protect your money is good but your statement is not correct. Corrections are temporary but the bull is will keep going, not temporary.
2093  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC/USD Bullish: $51,400 will be the First Rebounce Target in Next 2 Days on: March 04, 2021, 03:18:54 AM
The institutions knew about it. When the exchange rates fell to $43K, there were reports that the institutional investors have stepped up their purchases. Those who purchased back then are already at a 20% profit. Individual investors are losing out, as many of them can't afford to hold on for long term. They get alarmed by the volatility and tend to become susceptible to panic selling. I don't know what proportion of the total circulating supply is being held by institutions at this point, but the percentage will definitely increase in the near future.
Individual investors fail because of their lack of knowledge and experience. It will change if they spend time to read the past history of bitcoin, cycles and how price was manipulated by news. They will understand better about bitcoin if they care about and step up to read and learn.

With better knowledge, they will have bigger belief and reduce their unreasonable panic sellings.

Institutional investors succeed as they have better knowledge and solid belief in bitcoin and they are more confident with their investment. Big or small capital does not make sense as your entry and exit price will make up your profits or losses.
2094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was invited to speak about Bitcoin to financial management college students on: March 04, 2021, 01:56:33 AM
actually, there are already schools (colleges/universities) that are offering blockchain courses. there's one user here that created a thread before enumerating the schools which are offering blockchain tech or bitcoin-related courses. so it is already happening in different parts of the world. if i can find the thread, ill post the link here.
Many courses from universities or colleges or institutes. You can get them free (but have to pay fees for certificates if want them) or charged fees for a course.

Pi is a phone app trying to monetize and has over 13 million users.  What do you guys think about this?

https://research.aimultiple.com/pi-network/

https://medium.com/the-blue-stars/pi-network-will-be-the-next-bitcoin-of-the-future-d571ffda58f9
Can you give us where you store the open source code of Pi project? Is it an open-sourced code project?

Download and install app on my phone to mine Pi coin. It will kill my mobile and it is more terrible if I mine Pi coin on the device I am using to store my bitcoin or to log in and trade on crypto exchanges.

The Picoin team can promote any word to shill their project and I don't judge that Pi coin is a good or bad project. However, please stop compare any altcoin to bitcoin and say this altcoin will be the next bitcoin.  Undecided

many people download their apps with great hopes. But for me it is nothing more than a garbage project. Someone is adding money to their money while someone's phone batteries and processors are garbage. I am of the opinion that it should definitely be avoided.
Their hopes will kill their devices and give the opportunities for bad guys to steal bitcoin and cryptocurrency or accounts.
2096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: March 03, 2021, 02:18:52 AM
The 0.99% annual fee is charged for the storage of the gold. The same fees are charged for different ETFs and paper gold on the stock exchanges. If a small number of GOLD tokens are stored on the wallet, the storage fee could be higher, because of the minimum size of the fee - 0.001 GOLD. Now, this fee will be taken every 10 days and the problem for almost all wallets with a small GOLD balance has been solved.

I look around the website today and found that the figure in features page is not accurate. The team can check and correct the typo if it is truly a typo. Other pages show the annual storage fee is about 1% (0.99%) as you pointed out but in the features page, it is given at 9.95%.

2097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lowering the electricity bill by mining cryptocurrency on: March 03, 2021, 02:00:44 AM
If you have a large enough operation, perhaps you can do this. But oftentimes, mid to large-scale mining that produces much heat that can totally keep you comfortable during the winter are not really affixed to a residential or living space, and are mostly located on warehouses or data centers.
Heat from mining rigs with temperatures around 60 Celsius degree or higher can be reused. To keep the house or facilities a little bit warm in the winter as the article raised on or to be reused to generate electricity. It is not new if you know that waste incinerators generate very high temperature that can be reused.

Though it is a great idea but is not realistic to apply in households. Operations of mining rigs contain many requirements, space, infrastructures, maintenance and safety for your house and family members. It might not be a matter if you run 1 or 2 rigs with 6 GPUs at home but for bigger amount, it can cause a pressure on your electricity chain.

Quote
The idea is great, but I think most miners prefer to separate their mining rigs from their homes since most residential spaces can only accommodate for a certain amount of electricity load.
More safety, more free space at home, and better maintenance support from farm operators.
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is limited on: March 02, 2021, 04:04:16 AM
SAD LIMITATION OF BITCOIN
Limitation for the blind. It is existing now but it won't exist in the future.

Quote
If bitcoin investment is actually for everyone who is financially able and willing and of what future do bitcoin have for the handicapped (Blind persons).
It can be solved in the future with bigger adoption and more developments in softwares, apps for disabilities.

Blind people can read through the Braille writing system and they also can hear if they are not deaf. Bitcoin has one method to back up their private key or mnemonic seeds to metal sheets and it can be used for the blind.

The barrier is how companies can build up those products for the blind but still can give them privacy and safety for their private key/ mnemonic seeds. For the blinds, I think mnemonic seeds are best for them.

2099  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Prompt the trading bot community on: March 02, 2021, 03:21:45 AM
Creating bots by yourself isnt that easy. You will create bots with your own style and techniques and of course with your own purpose. You can just buy some trading bots and if it satisfies your expectations and give you enough profits, then consider to continue using it rather than creating your own without enough knowledge.

You can check this out: https://blockgeeks.com/guides/6-of-the-best-crypto-trading-bots-strategies-updated-list/
The big list for trading bots can be used as good references. I've never used trading bots but bots are set up by bot users and if they set up with bad parameters, bots can not run and bring profits.

Bots eliminate emotions for trading orders but parameters are important. If OP get profits from bot tradings, OP should gradually withdraw initial capital and try to use profit amount to trade after that. In bad days, bots can cause big losses.

2100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: NMX Nominex token on: March 02, 2021, 03:05:10 AM
Unlocking NMX tokens is the process by which unlocked tokens become available for sale on the exchange and withdrawal from Nominex to the external wallets
How can you use Blocked tokens?
1. You can still use NMX to pay the trading fees
2. Shortly after converting the NMX token to DeFi, we will implement the ability to stake blocked NMX tokens, which means that you can earn additional NMX tokens on this staking, which will be immediately available for withdrawal and sale.[/i][/center]
I guess no bounty hunters have interest to use NMX token to pay trading fees or they even don't use Nominex exchange. The news gives a more transparent information for them.

1 year is not a short time but not a too long time, in fact. In the meantime of unlock waiting, they still are allowed to stake NMX tokens and get rewards. Who knows that next one year, one NMX token will have a price $10 or $20? As no one believed that some day BNB tokens that were airdropped in 2017 can have a price $252 today: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/binance-coin/

Patience and belief sometimes can bring money to you.
