Thanks for the tip, but I could not even finish the first episode of Dope. If MR is a 10 Dope is a 2. YMMV.

so, what wallet would be best, and is it possible to have the device ask me for hardware button confirmation when i use the desktop wallet? i tried it on multibit HD but it doesnt ask for it, only when i use the ledger chrome app...
Ledger Nano S has only been available for a few weeks now and no desktop wallets are supported. You will have to use your Nano S with the Ledger Bitcoin and Ledger Ethereum apps for Chrome. You can also use the CoPay app for Chrome but not the desktop version see https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/4wcebx/ledger_nano_s_and_copay/ hope this helps.

First Trezors did not ship until summer 2014 - two years.

Your choices, well, suck to be honest. Get your self a hardware wallet like Ledger Nano S or Trezor.

Season 2 Episode 7 (came out yesterday) : Bitcoin got mentioned again (I'm watching the episode right now) , this time they didn't show a picture but actually mention it... I'm not sure If it's a good or bad thing since they related to it to the Darknet like 100%
I'm so confused after that episode. I think their talk about e-coin is like the bank's blockchain coin. But ya, they are not being Bitcoin friendly tying it to evil things implying that allowing the market to do its thing will end in people selling sex slaves and hired assassins. e-coin was the corporate /private currency "you the customer scan the qrcode and WE(e-corp) deduct the balance from your wallet" e-coin isnt really a blockchain currency but more like Apple pay.. they did mention bitcoin several times. in relation to the main character messing with a silk road service. on a separate note there will be a new show called "startup" which is going to predominently about cryptos http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5028002/though i feel its going to be more aimed at the scammy altcoin arena. Good catch! Startup will air Sept 6 on Crackle here is a review. If you have Roku you can already watch a preview of the first episode based in Miami.

I'm still using Genesis-mining and they're not a scam an have already made a profit with them. But my earnings have been much lower after the reward halving.
yeah, genesis mining seems to be really legit at the moment, it is around for a while and it is still paying the people Genesis Mining like any other company is in business to make money for themselves. They have just designed their products so that customers get a very small piece of the pie. After all their negative press I am still amazed they are able to attract new customers. The thread by Glucose previously mentioned should be read before buying anything from Genesis Mining. I don't think you will ROI on any hosted mining investment you buy now. That might change if Hashnest starts selling S9 hash on Hashnest and bitcoin price goes up considerably. BW.com is not user friendly for anyone who does not read Mandarin but I have managed to use them with help of Google Translate since the English option on the site is not that good. If you just have to mine buy an S9 and do it yourself as long as you can handle the noise, heat and power requirements. There are also companies that will host your S9 for you.

Google has just fixed the Quadrooter vulnerabilities for the Nexus they sell but the patches will take a while to filter down to other phones. This is not the best time to side load apps. What difference does it make at all? An .apk downloaded from bitcointrezor.com isn't going to make your phone either more or less vulnerable to the pwnage bug affecting newer Snapdrgon SoC's. If you used Play Store to install Trezor Manager to a device with this flaw, the situation would be identical: pwned phone with properly verified Trezor App. Quelle difference. As long as you use the Play Store only and do not enable unknown sources Google should keep malware off your phone. Uhhhhh, that's terrible advice. Google will help to keep 3rd party malware off your phone. Any malware developed either in-house or by deep state agencies will be delivered straight to your device when ready. Noticed how Google are becoming more and more involved in global politics recently? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Your trust in Google is misplaced. My advice to Android users: - Gain root access
- Flash up to date OS (preferably compiled yourself)
- Install 3rd party App Store (make sure it has root privileges, I recommend the F-Droid Store)
- Do not install or use the Play Store (or other Google Apps)
- Regularly re-flash the latest OS updates (preferably compiled yourself)
I'm not saying that this is a perfect method, but it's a big improvement on "blindly trust the Play Store binary blob" You are free to do what you please but some newbie with limited skills is gonna brick their phone if they take your advice. Reasons not to root.

I have yet to see ONE cloud mining site, where people reach ROI in the late stage of it's business cycle. The business model behind this, is pure Ponzi/HYIP funding and this is not in any way even close to sustainable. The early investors take all the money, and the last people end up being bag holders. The quicker people see that NO cloud mining site can be sustainable, the quicker we can all start concentrating on legit ways of making money. Do not be fooled by this scam. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Just one year ago the situation with profitability of legitimate hosted mining was very different. I was able to make 15% monthly with Hashnest and explained how in how to profit with Bitmain Hashnest. Antminer S3, S4 and S5 were all taking about 30 weeks to ROI. Of course times have changed with difficulty increases and the block halving. I have no investments in hosted mining at Hashnest now because Hashnest is not selling hash for its most profitable miner, the S9 yet. When S9 opens up on Hashnest I will take a small position so I can report on profitability. BW.com is an alternate to Hashnest. Back in October last year I bought one TH of B11 14 nm hashing for .78 bitcoin ($226 at the time) and have received .57 bitcoin in mining income worth $325 now so I have made a 44% profit on the investment in dollars. Hashnest and BW have very large mining farms and are not Ponzis.

Consider to stop thinking small potatoes and develop your own website dedicated to an aspect of bitcoin that you have a strong interest in. Or set up an online store selling a product you are passionate about and accept bitcoin for payment. I never see signatures since I have them disabled in profile look and layout.

In general, mining / cloud sites are cannot be trusted because, most of them turned to scam. Hmm.. I would never invest anymore in mining.. A victim of hashocean here and it gave me sleepless nights thinking of my money.. It also gives me trauma.. Thats why, i posted here just to know if theres someone who still trust cloud / mining sites..
Do your research. If you had a few GPU cards mining Ether last year you could have done well mining at home.

They are not a scam but not a good deal either, and once you buy you are stuck with your hash, there is no market to sell it. Genesis Mining is in business to make money for itself and gives a little bit to customers.

Anyone? That can share Mining Sites that are LEGIT, WORKING and PAYING 101%.. Most of mining sites nowadays turn to SCAM in months or a year.. The money invested cannot be refunded. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Hashnest and BW.com both have internal markets where you can buy and sell hashing power. The better S9 has not made it to Hashnest yet. Have you ever tried to invest in hashnet.com? and what do you mean by S9 is better but has not made it to hashnest yet? Could you exactly explain it to me, I asked it because I never try hashnest to invest in. Mostly I tried in Bitminister.com so far so good in my experience now. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Have used Hashnest often in past. The most profitable miner Bitmain sells is S9 but they are not selling hash for it on Hashnest yet, only S7. The main advantage of buying mining hashpower at Hashnest is the market. You can sell anytime you like, you are not locked in.

Personally I would not buy on Hashnest until they open S9 hash for trading and we see what the market is.

You could talk to a good probate attorney and set up a will. Put your bitcoin in a hardware wallet like Trezor and give the seed to the attorney for secure storage, along with instructions on how to recover the seed to a new Trezor in case of death. The seed itself would not be in the will but held separately by the attorney in trust. No attorney I have ever worked with would risk disbarment and jail time by stealing your funds.

A search for Bitcoin Armory still shows https://www.bitcoinarmory.com/ in first position with functional download links. Should not that website be taken down now?
