Bitcoin is full of surprise, no doubt about that.
In November I posted in the 'Reputation' board that Bitcoin's price will probably be ~$9/10k . Now 2 months later it's at $29k  
It's certainly not something I was expecting for 2020, and I have no idea if this trend will continue but I know that what happened in Jan 2018 can happen again.  Don't forget too.

In 2020 Bitcoin got a lot of attention as a real alternative payment and asset. Whether it's from companies like Microstrategy or Paypal, from countries like Iran or Venezuela, or the retail interest against the dollar.
It shall continue for this year (but as mentioned earlier it's not likely to stop with their printing machine) otherwise the price won't continue this way.

Q3 2020: from $10,000 to $29,000
Just imagine if the trend continues for another 3 months period. It would be possible to see BTC hits the $50,000

Bitcoin ne cherche pas à remplacer le système actuelle, il n'a pas été développer ainsi. Il se propose en tant que monnaie alternative et coexistante. En même temps il faut se rappeler que Bitcoin est encore jeune et malgré cela il avance quand même (je ne parle pas de sa valeur).
De là à dire qu'il a échoué pour l'instant en tant que moyen de paiement c'est aller un peu vite je trouve.

C'est la mentalité des personnes qui ne va pas, "la décentralisation et tout ca, rien à foutre". Ce qui compte c'est le pognon.
Si les elles sont dépendantes d'un système centralisé (les échanges and co.) c'est parce qu'elles le veulent bien. En tout cas elles ne peuvent pas dire qu'il n'y a pas d'alternative à tout ca.
Et c'est pour ca d'ailleurs que ces entreprises (les échanges) prennent en importance, elles ne font que répondre à une demande.

Si les DEX restent marginaux et les prix sous-évalués c'est parce que les gens ne veulent pas se donner la peine de chercher comment ca marche (il s'agit de son propre argent pour tant). Certains pensent que c'est trop dur à utiliser alors que non. Un software simple comme Bisq par exemple, je ne vois pas du tout ce qu'il y a de compliquer dedans. Même un gosse de CM2 pourrait l'utiliser

Ce genre de nouvelle, bien qu'elle soit positive pour l'entreprise, n'as pas vraiment d'incidence sur le marché. Du moins pas sur le moyen/long terme. Ca buzz les premiers jours ensuite les gens passent à autre chose. Après tout cela ne concerne qu'une entreprise et pas quelque chose directement lié à Bitcoin ou un alt (le code, sa blockchain,..)

Y'a que lorsqu'il s'agit d'une mauvaise nouvelle pour l'entreprise que cela peut jouer (hack,...)

Et dire que Coinbase est l'un des premiers web wallet, avec Blockchain.info. A l'époque c'étaient les seuls dans la place.
Cela a bien changé depuis, de simple portefeuille de bitcoin en ligne avec une interface web tout de qu'il y avait de plus basique à l'introduction en Bourse et des centaines de salariés

Coincidence, un tel évènement en pleine montée de Bitcoin...

Ils disent avoir perdu l'accès à tout leur servers, pourtant ils avaient mis un message sur la page d'accueil de leur site pour dire aux personnes que le site était hacké. Ce qu'ils n'auraient pas pu faire si ils n'y avaient pas accès.
Aucune annonce sur leur compte Twitter, c'est pourtant l'une des premières places que les plateformes d'échanges utilisent pour de tel incidents. Là rien du tout, silence radio. Pas d'email envoyés non plus bien évidement.

Ca sent un peu le faux hack quand même.

Tout simplement que la personne fasse un recall de virement auprès de sa banque en prétextant une arnaque ou je ne sais quoi. Dans quel cas ma banque débiterait le virement reçu. Une sorte de chargeback comme avec Paypal ou les gens prétextent que leur compte a été utilisé à leur insu.

Ou alors que la banque décide de me faire comme juste au dessus, et décide même de fermer ton compte.

Revolut ca peut être utilisé en tant que compte secondaire mais en compte principal c'est pas envisageable qu'on on voit touts les problèmes pour utiliser leur IBAN avec des entreprises/services Français. Il y a pas mal d'endroits qui refusent leur IBAN

Vu comme c'est parti, ils vont forcement rentrer dans le game tot ou tard. Personnellement je pense que cela sera certainement indirectement en achetant des parts dans des entreprises ou autre.

J'aimerais bien voir comment réagirait le marché après une telle annonce dans les medias

They didn't lie and had no reason to do so knowing that with the GDPR the company might be in trouble if Ledger had knowingly lied to hide the size of the incident. Not to mention the bad press it would have received.
It's just that Ledger couldn't evaluate accurately the importance of the incident, we can't blame them for that, they did what they could and even hired an outside company to audit.

Their business model is partly based on trust Ledger has no benefit in losing it, on the contrary.

It's exactly the same with a trading platform, if I'm not able to receive my asset within the hour I'll go somewhere else. After all, there are many other exchanges on the web. If I want to buy something right now it's because I need it now, not a week later.
I would not be encouraged to use such an exchange platform, to be honest.

All Coinbase's users located in my country have the same problem since last week, it has nothing to do with the account being suspicious, it's because of the KYC enhancement from Coinbase to abide by the latest country's regulation concerning the AML program.
Depending on your country you live in, you may be forced to do it and in some others not.

Was your identity verified before? Did you notice other citizens in the same case? Because if yes then you can bet your country enhanced too the AML program

You may have changed your personal address since
There are so many other things to consider.

Selling user's data to advertising companies is different than having your server hacked and a list published to everybody. When Google+ had an exploit it wasn't selling user data, it was exposing them as a result of a security breach on their servers. The same goes to Amazon and Facebook.

You can't notice it while you read. Either you notice it by clicking on "quote" to look at the code directly, or by hovering the mouse over each word.

Discussion boards like forums are more often visited by google's crawlers compared to a blog or a static website. A static website rarely has its content updated, a blog ~every day, while forums have new content (posts) every x minutes. Bitcointalk is probably visited every xx minutes.

Comme la plupart des autres pays. Il y en a aucun au Brésil qui pourtant a 3 fois plus d'habitants que la France, idem pour l'Inde avec 15 fois plus, 0 en Russie, Chine ansi que plein d'autres pays. En comptant tout le continent Africain, on en trouve à peine une dizaine. On the other side, the service was classified as a selective scam, and there are even unresolved accusations about them (see the user's profile). I won't be surprised if you never receive an answer from them :/
