2081  Economy / Economics / Re: No choice but to use the unavoidable middle man, the exchange companies. on: August 28, 2023, 01:48:54 PM

Honestly, I have more numbers of trades using a middleman than using a peer-to-peer I'm sure all of us here third parties will always be with us, we are so used to it, It applies in many industries it applies in Cryptocurrency.

With this can we now say that bitcoin is not performing the original privacy goal or that it is the human factor that is frustrating it because like you pointed out, third party services in bitcoin is really growing bigger apart from the exchanges, people have taken up this like the brokers and they stand in the middle to execute the transaction like the escrow service. I think the P2P service is not really getting that attention because of trust.
2082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 01:26:12 PM

I might add up some micro loan for this bet if I will experience this kind of golden opportunity. I knew this bet is only possible with fixed match but there’s no really a 100% can’t lose bet even on fixed match since there’s a chance that the match will be caught as fixed match and your bets will be confiscated for being involved.

I don't think adding a micro loan for such bet is reasonable. Taking a loan is like a leverage and that is risky, it is better to bet base on your capacity and not relying on what additional loan for it. Worse of it is that there is no guarantee that you will have the winning so why thinking of adding loan, some match are fixed which could be discovered. Like the example you gave, some times you see matches stopped on the way or suspended if the organizer believe there is fixing on it, so in such case you either lose your bet money or it is returned to you.
2083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 11:35:48 AM
In such situation what will come to my mind is no gambling stake has a 100% winning chance and no guarantee to that and I would reflect on the past incidence of such thing happening when someone beat his chest that it was a sure game but it never happened that way. So if someone is telling me that it is a 100% certainty, I will still bet reasonably. I won't go for loan because it is not advised, I won't empty my account either but I will put a bet to my satisfaction that if I lose it will be like the usual occurrence too.
2084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Still not a safe practice even if it works on: August 28, 2023, 09:14:41 AM

Well, what will stop them from using this against you too as a gambler? Bypassing restrictions is not the problem, but it was never allowed officially, meaning you should accept whatever will be thrown in your face.

What do you think?

What I think is that if a casino has verified an account which they know is using encrypted connection like virtual private network (VPN) on their website then they should not go back to pretend they didn't know about it. If the have done verification to see the user is not laundering money or doing some sort illegally but only trying to evade IP ban from his home country then it should not be a problem for the casino, after all they might have allowed such window for that kind of purpose.

2085  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: August 28, 2023, 08:50:41 AM
If like you said it happens that no bull run for the next ten years, realistically it will affect investment in bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large because most hodlers are focused on the asset and financial reward from hodling, so those are the set of people that will exit. But for those who understand the real purpose of the transactional value of bitcoin and the third party privacy exclusion will continue doing bitcoin business and I think at such time the real value of bitcoin will be ascertain because manipulators and whales will also go to sleep.
2086  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] SportScore.io Live Sport Analytics For your Sport Bets! on: August 28, 2023, 07:57:38 AM
It is nice to see you here, soccer bettors will definitely like it but coming up is not all that is important. What is more important is how reputable this can be, if you have a pilot phase for users to review or to check on reviews done on your website. We have had some scam project here and people are careful to sign up to new startups. But of course it will be nice to check your analysis and perhaps predictions to support our analysis.
2087  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: August 28, 2023, 07:02:17 AM
He sacked almost all the employees ,replaced them with bots and now he is trying   to sell it . Don't mistake me I'm not trying to criticise the dude but i don't get why this happened for real his plan was nice trying to reduce cost of work . But what went wrong

This is part of the challenges of Twitter. Elon musk to me was hasty to try to cut down cost by laying off old hands whose wisdom and expertise was highly needed. He wanted to introduce himself as being capable to run social media with bot system just like his background of SpaceX and Tesla. So he needs to retrace the all business idea to make profit rather than the primary public interest of Twitter, before Elon musk Twitter was barely known with all the financial news around it. He needs to take a clue from Mark zugerberg on this.
2088  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Could Nigerian stabilise naira using friendly policies through cryptocurrency? on: August 27, 2023, 08:01:52 PM
Funny talk from Paxful CEO,I guess he doesn't even have an idea or understand what he is talking about. How will it be possible for government to collect everybody bitcoin wey no be them gibe you money buy am,and moreover bitcoin no dey shout for  wallet, so how them won know say you get bitcoin. You see one thing with these rich people them fit say na them no pass. Traders wey dey trade bitcoin dey use see front because of bad economy, you won go collect their food from their mouth because you dey envy them. Make them turn their bitcoin to Naira so that them go dey stagnant. Na them spoil or devalue the Naira, mumu talk. The problem with Nigeria be say,the people wey go fit do better for the country, the bad eggs no go let them enter power. We need more export than import

2089  Economy / Economics / Re: Criteria for Evaluating Potential Cryptocurrencies for Investment in the Market: on: August 27, 2023, 05:29:16 PM
None of this is needed, as long as you invest into things like bitcoin and ethereum they are all known and they are all vetted and you could just invest into those and you will be done. These type of "here is a way to lower the risk of investing into something super risky" methods are not helping, some people look for things they want to look for and still invest.

I would rather invest more in bitcoin or Ethereum like you said instead of trying to look for what doesn't exist. Altcoins have not really given that expectation sort for over the last two halvings of bitcoin but bitcoin have proved a number of times to be reliable. Despite it drop in 2018 to $3,500, it came back stronger still having over 50% dominance in the market. Investing in bitcoin is more secured than trying to push all millions of coins into your wallet and they occupy space yet worthless.
2090  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can a unified language solve Nigeria's problem of tribalism? on: August 27, 2023, 04:23:09 PM

Language is one the beauty of a culture. And multiple languages is diversity of culture and it create the beauty of a country usually in Africa continent. Though if we speak one language in the country then the country will develop faster but speaking one language in Nigeria is not and will never possible. We don't history to repeat itself again. A good government can incorporate all the language and address the matter. Let every part of the country should be treated equal. No ethnic group is superior to the other. Equality is the only solution to it. And not unify language.

My brother even if we speak one language e no go make development come as dat fast wey you think because no be language matter. The country need to arrange itself if them want stay together because some people still dey think say them born Dem to rule over other ethnic group and because of their influence with British wey say Dem colonize naija Dem allocate more states and of course local government, this one alone make more resources dey go deir place. Abi na language still say make dem dey marginalize the people wey dey east, imagine the people for east still dey operate with 5 states. The solution no be that language because it is not the barrier, na leadership be the wahala.
2091  Economy / Gambling / Re: Concept of Halal Casino on: August 27, 2023, 03:06:20 PM

This concept is for our Muslim brothers but for us Christians, there are some sects that support gambling and some are not, and our Muslims have one law that they follow when it comes to haram and halal, but at the end of the day, everything are all about respect to one's religious belief when it comes to gambling.

Despite the individual decisions towards gambling which may be traced to economic situation for those who believe that they can add gambling as a source of income to meet up to family needs but I don't think the christians has a sect of the religion that also support gambling. At least I have not heard of a pastor preaching and advising their converts at the pupit to gamble. What I have heard is their condemnation of it using the example at the synagogue where Jesus Christ threw the gambling materials away and the gamblers were scolded.
2092  Economy / Gambling / Re: Concept of Halal Casino on: August 27, 2023, 02:22:56 PM
Yes, I watched the whole video and found that the title of this video plus the thumbnail in this video does not match the content presented in the video. This is more like a clickbait title/thumbnail and there is no talk about the legit casino in this video.
Yes, maybe people immediately catch what is seen from the title that contains clickbait and are provoked by it, so they draw conclusions and immediately comment outside the actual context of the video, actually in Islam it teaches good things so always remember worship, even if you are a gambler or criminals, it's good that worship should never be abandoned because that way it will make people lose their way and make themselves worse.

Any worship will prevent us from doing something other evil in the future, maybe that's what is meant and captured from this video, acting as good people will help us become better later, therefore I can't comment much about this video before watching it's finished videos properly.

I think that is pretty much about the video, despite the inclination about gambling for the muslim faith and infact most other religions regarding to gambling but to keep the worship or prayers going on. I believe if you drop the prayer and followship because you are doing a particular sin it will lead you into deeper sins that coming out will be a longer process, that is what I understand in the video but on the other hand I'm thinking that is a subtle way to give approval to gambling by the muslim faith and not to judge or condemn theirselves yet.
2093  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price hits the rock as Space X sells all it's BTC holdings on: August 26, 2023, 10:59:49 PM

The only way new money can find its way into crypto is after every massive dump, How it's going to happen is none of my business but manipulators, whoever they are will make sure it happens, for them to secure a nice entry price.

This is why the opinion of majority of bitcoin retailers is that the market is manipulative. When they want to shake up market and get cheaper coin, they will do a massive dump and create that unnecessary artificial panic and that will get small traders to panic and dump hard until the whales start to buy them back. It is a circle that someone need to be knowledgeable on.
2094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Stay Safe and Avoid Scams When Gambling Online on: August 26, 2023, 07:50:37 PM

This is the reason why it is better to simply stick with the old or trustworthy casino and sportsbook platforms so that you don't have to be worried about getting scammed or your personal details and documents being used for gaining money or maybe even in bad things which might cause you trouble.

This is the solution to avoid being scammed because there are different casinos coming up and to jump into a new casino that has not been tested is not really encouraged. If you are playing on an old casino without no hitches and you withdraw with no complain, it is better to stick it out there rather than chasing bonus and other welcome packages like free spin which attract new players. But some bettors want to have a feel of some new ones, it is better while trying to deposit little money that may not matter to you even if you lose it. So reviewing a casino before signing up is the right part to take first.
2095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take to play casino? on: August 26, 2023, 05:00:34 PM
If there is a strategy it will be gamble as you can run the expenses and not regret your account. That is you need to be wise to know when your luck is favouring you and when it has left you. You always have the leverage to wake away without anybody holding you back and you have to know how to manage your bankroll. Avoid virtual soccer if you can't bear spontaneous losses. Over all, gambling is luck based and no particular strategy is perfect, you win some and you will lose some but the owners win more.
2096  Economy / Economics / Re: Top richest from history, one hyperinflated the economy single handedly! on: August 26, 2023, 01:28:57 PM
One man singlehandedly caused hyperinflation in an entire region, that's wonderful. I stand to be corrected Bitcoin is one of the most reliable shields against inflation. Yes, my stand is arguable because it is highly volatile but its total cap of 21 million is its unique difference. The market can be flooded with gold because many nations of the world still have massive gold reserves. Lands and other resources are limitless which means that their prices can fall if the supply rises but bitcoin has limited supply. A single country with a large gold reserve can make the market crumble but Bitcoin is decentralised. Yes, the market can be manipulated by some unhealthy practices by whales but their influence is limited. If Bitcoin gains a stable price in the future, it will become an undisputed hedge against inflation.

Agreed that inflation may not be what will affect bitcoin but regards to dump in the price of bitcoin, that is very possible and it is happening. Just last week the allege sale of Elon musk SpaceX acquired bitcoin dump caused the price shield of 9% which is about $4k drop in price which is already huge for within 24hours. So just like an individual can use his gold to crash the market and cause inflation, so also that could happen with bitcoin. But like you have the view, bitcoin won't be affected by inflation because gold or fiat dumped which was evident during the COVID-19.

2097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: August 26, 2023, 01:02:52 PM
As an investor, i did a lots of invest in altcoins. Those were suppose to be good that time with having good hype, good team and community. But with having all of thats, most of altcoins scam after a time! I wonder for some altcoins, they were suppose not to be go but they scammed without any reason! And hundreds of altcoins are in my wallet, which are turn into dead shitcoin now.

Most shitcoins have:

Gazillion of token supply.
They tax 5% to 10% of the transaction amount claiming for burning and project funding.
Project developers present themselves in informal ways and overexaggerating their achievements.
Subject to pump and dump
Implement burning because the project owner and developer do not have the ability to create real-life use cases for their token/coins.
Have plagiarized whitepaper
Often hype investors that they will earn big if they invest on the project.

and many more...

Most of the things you mentioned here are what I also noticed in the shit coins that I have also invested on. They have something in common which is their billion number, that is supply and some don't have maximum supply limit. So if you see a coin like that, be sure it will soon dump on your laps if you don't dump first. They also have the promise of burning some quantity as they give time for that, usually a long time of which they would have taken out investors money and exit. They also show you how much you are going to profit in a short time with so much hype on their telegram.
2098  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Gold Standard Is Back: BRICS To Intro Gold-Backed Reserve Currency on: August 26, 2023, 11:50:41 AM
BRICS looks like it real agenda is how to destabilize the US economy and they have two big competitors of US which is Russia and china. To achieve such they need to make the dollar less important by introducing some currency that will serve a global purpose yet no one will lay claim to. I thought that was one propaganda that led to the war in Libya and eventual death of Muammar Gaddafi because of same gold baked currency introduction in Africa.
2099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Sports Betting Shop Operations on: August 26, 2023, 11:24:02 AM
There might be a few bookies who would do that, but it isn't ideal for many. The issue at hand is that bookies or sports betting agents are aiming for higher profitability. This implies that the more bets they attract, the more money they stand to gain. In my opinion, the phrase "gamble responsibly" should be sufficient to caution bettors, and if they choose to disregard it, the consequences are theirs to bear.

Well I have not seen such myself where a casino operator will advise or stop a gambler from betting because of addiction. Anyway, such sympathy display can maybe happen in an offline gambling house like op shared if at all it will happen because the owner of the gambling house shares a family relationship with the gambler. And online casino can only warn gamblers on the risk in there terms and conditions but will not be able to stop them from placing another bet because there is no limit to the times you will bet.. It is commendable and rare to see this kind of reasonable display of understanding.
2100  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] PlayBita.com Crypto Down or Up? Join us ! on: August 26, 2023, 10:28:55 AM

The team paying users to test their game would be nice to hear what the experience of the users and whether were they paid instantly without having to ask for support to release the funds. A review thread perhaps?

Is this verifiable or you just guessing? Because when you pay someone to do a review on your website, they are likely not to do an objective review.

A. It’s not casino, traders that understand the market trend makes good money from this platform, Casino is making money when you lose and here it’s the opposite

Well my concern is how they make profit if they say they don't get something from the lossers as we already know that is what happens in casino, brokers and other trading websites.
