2121  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: January 15, 2021, 07:15:07 PM
Right now, all I'm waiting for is for the month of January to pass, and see if there are negative effects that the vaccine might cause to those who had already been vaccinated.

I do not trust the vaccine completely, but I can trust it enough, only after I see the result to vaccinated peeps after this month.

Also, I'm keeping my eye on Indonesia's president, pres. Jakowi as he is already vaccinated with the low efficacy rate vaccine, which is the sinovac.

No need to wait anylonger.

After 23 deaths in Norway in connection with the Covid-19 vaccine; frail elderly people are now advised to avoid the vaccine.

"If you are frail, you should probably not be vaccinated" Steinar Madsen at the Norwegian Medicines Agency said at a webinar on corona vaccine for journalists on Thursday.

Do you just ignore everything else Steinar Madsen has said?

“We are not alarmed by this. It is quite clear that these vaccines have very little risk, with a small exception for the frailest patients”
“Doctors must now carefully consider who should be vaccinated. Those who are very frail and at the very end of life can be vaccinated after an individual assessment"

"Any side effects of the vaccine will be outweighed by a reduced risk of becoming seriously ill with COVID-19 for elderly, frail people."
"For very frail patients and terminally ill patients, a careful balance of benefit versus disadvantage of vaccination is recommended.”

2123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 25th Amendment after Trump supporters riot in the Capital on: January 15, 2021, 07:50:50 AM
Amplifying what I have said elsewhere, the bad-faith abuse of the 25th to remove the President would be an insurrectionary act, a transparent sham covering a coup d’État.  Trump is clearly not suffering any personal incapacity; such claims are, um, trumped-up based on the armchair diagnoses of people who dislike him.  And the political weaponization of the 25th would set a horrible precedent—not that the U.S. Constitution has meant anything for a long time, but this abuse of Constitutional provisions would be a new low.

I must quote hereby the following, because Big Tech’s censorship is inhibiting Trump from directly reaching his supporters with his anti-rioting message—at just the moment when the liar-media are endlessly repeating the absolute lie that he incited the Capitol riot.  More people need to see this.  Please spread it.

(I quote Fox News because it’s the primary source.  I typically despise Fox News as the American GOP/neocon warmonger propaganda outlet.  Boldface added.)

"In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking and NO vandalism of any kind," the president said in a statement to Fox News. "That is not what I stand for and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers. Thank You."

Oh wow, Trump said 'no violence plz'?  Well I guess now we know the truth.  Case closed, nice work.
2124  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 25th Amendment after Trump supporters riot in the Capital on: January 14, 2021, 09:44:15 PM
6% shift though, that’s something. Most of his approval rating came from die hard people, so seeing a shift like that is really something. Important to see if that’s just short term shock in regards to the Capitol, or if these people will genuinely not support Trump in the long term. Impossible for us to see now though.

Republicans like Jim Jordan are already starting to whitewash the whole thing, along the lines that Trump never told these people to be violent, but the election was still fraudulent, and now on top of all this he's a martyr because Twitter et al banned him. And yes, events like these fade in public memory whereas "judges! abortions! Mexicans!" will remain very important to the base. The only thing that can dethrone Trump is perhaps another Trump-like character rising through the ranks, not sure who that could be though.

Totally agree with this. Trump still holds a massive amount of support within the party and as time goes on people will forget that the event happened due to news reporting / other republicans saying that Trumps role in this entire thing was minimal.

Really depends on how much time Trump supporters spend on Fox, Newsmax, OAN following the Capitol riots. Cause these networks will do a pretty good job of spinning the story.

Not sure who is the new Trump in the party as well. Maybe someone like DeSantis could emerge on the national stage? Cotton?

With the storming of the capital and possible pile of sealed indictments waiting for Trump to no longer be president I think there's a very real chance that Trumps days may be pretty much over.  There will always be his most loyal followers and the NY Post, but he lost all social media platforms last week and next week he loses the press corp and the biggest platform there is.  I also expect the MSM to go out of their way to not cover him and get shit when they do (and obviously shit when they don't from the muhThEMeDiA crowd).

The Pope has been arrested for Child Trafficking and President Trump has put the military in charge of the country with Trump as the Commander in Chief. In a few days, everyone will wake up to the TRUTH and will be very embarrassed at their stupidity in disbelieving what we have been telling them over the past year.

Use your brain Tash.  The pope wasn't arrested and Trump didn't just put the military in charge of another country.

If you oppose tyranny you probably shouldn't be supporting Trump.  In case you haven't heard, he just tried to overthrow the government to stay in power ever since he lost the election.

That’s a straight-up lie, and a facial absurdity only believed by people so blinded by hatred of Trump that they will lap up any swill dished out by the liar-media.

Where do you recommend I keep up to date on current events if not the media?

Is everything I've seen Trump say or tweet fake?

Because I saw him inviting his fans to come to DC on Jan 6th to stop congress from certifying the election he lost.  He told them it would huge and wild and the country needed them.

I saw him on stage telling them that in the building across the street, they were trying to get away with a massive fraud and they should be great patriots and go over there, be strong and stop them.  (He said he would be going with them, but then he just went home.)

And I saw them storm the capital.

What really happened if not this?
2128  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Let’s say Trump did win the election... on: January 13, 2021, 02:05:28 PM
Absolutely incredible the president basically just tried to overthrow the government and you guys are doing mental gymnastics to defend him, crying about him getting impeached for it and shrugging off the storming of the Capital.

Yes, this is the only reason to impeach him.  They are doing it out of fear that he would win an honest election in 2024.  Decisions based on fear are almost never the right one to make.  I'll say it again, America used to be the home of the brave, but we're being run by cowardly politicians now and it is being reflected in our daily lives.  Not just towards Trump, but towards everything.
Fear is a natural survival instinct, if you almost never made decisions based on fear you'd be dead by now.

I think where you were going with this was the "They're afraid to face him in an election, so they want to impeach him instead", which was a logical argument during the last impeachment, but obviously not this one.

Democrats are pursuing impeachment at a time when Trump has no real power. The only thing Trump can do today is sign executive orders that will be quickly reversed upon Biden taking office.
I don't think Trump is hoping Biden has a successful first year as president?  There's plenty of things Trump could do besides EOs to make Biden (and the country), more likely to fail.  He's got the pardon power, control of the military, all the agencies who report to him, etc.

What is he willing to do? I don't know.  But there is a decent chance he squeezes in a few more unbelievably stupid scandals that does serious damage to the Nation in the next week or so, especially if he feels cornered.

^^^^^ beside pro-Trump protesters / rioters, we know there were also other folks, like Antifa, BLM, far-right (real ones, not just branded by the MSM), US special forces, foreign operatives, etc.
And we also know that the attack on the Capitol started 11 minutes before Trump ended his speech (he was fashionably late).

We know that BLM and Antifa stormed the Capital?  How?  I thought the conspiratards already moved on to another theory after the arrests started happening and everyone was obviously a Trump supporter.

And where are you getting this timeline?  I was watching live and remember them showing the speech being over at least 30 minutes before there was any action at the capital.

Quote
1 p.m. ET A joint session of Congress begins to tally the Electoral College votes, with Vice President Pence presiding. As it begins, Pence releases a letter to Congress declaring that he does not have unilateral authority to overturn the election results.

1:11 p.m. President Trump's speech to supporters on the Ellipse outside the White House ends. During the roughly hourlong speech, Trump urges his followers to march to the Capitol and says at one point, "You will never take back our country with weakness." Trump says he will be there with them but never joins the crowd.

1:13 p.m. Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar files the first objection to state Electoral College certification, from his home state. Democrat Joe Biden won the state by 10,457 votes. The objection needs to be joined by a U.S. senator, which it is. The objection could then be debated for up to two hours. Republican House members and senators threaten to do this for up to half a dozen states. The tactic amounts to not more than a delay, however, as the end result will be President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris being declared the winners — again.

2:07 p.m. The mob of Trump supporters breach the steps on the east side of the Capitol.

2:16 p.m. The first scenes of the rioters inside the building.

Now they're trying to impeach him while he's walking out the door...  This is the kind of immature back and forth pathetic bullshit I never thought I'd see in the US government.  Trump is an asshole, sure.  This petty move from the democrats is only adding fuel to the fire that is burning America's reputation.  Pelosi is a child with a grudge, and it's so sad to see this level of maturity from our elected leaders.  They're politicians for god's sake.  All they have to do is not act like children, but here we are.  You could expect this type of pettiness from business leaders, but politicians?  Pathetic.

I think it sets a pretty good precedent: If a president tries to stay in power after losing the election by organizing an event that ends up turning into basically a terrorist attack intended to keep him in power, on the capital, while congress is in session...that's an impeachable offense, and you shouldn't expect a free pass on impeachable offenses just because you're already on the way out the door.

Take Trump out of the equation and imagine it's AOC or Biden.  I don't think you're calling it petty then.

It’s petty no matter who is doing it. They’re making America look worse to try and get one last dig in despite the fact that it’s a meaningless gesture meant to embarrass someone and hurt their legacy. It’s shameful. Not saying Trump wouldn’t do the same nonsense if their positions were reversed, the dude is an asshole. It just goes to show how worthless these so called leaders are. I’ve long thought you’d get a better president randomly choosing someone out of the phone book. Maybe instead of focusing on trying to make America look worse, they could do their jobs and try to save the massive demolition of small businesses they’ve created by having absolutely no bravery in times of supposed crisis.

Whether they impeach Trump, invoke the 25th, or do nothing, the way congress responds to this attack is not meaningless.

It's also not an either or situation where the decision is either 'Impeach Trump' or 'save the massive demolition of small businesses they’ve created by having absolutely no bravery in times of supposed crisis' and they obviously aren't focusing on 'trying to make America look worse'.  It seems like you are letting your spite for democrats/loyalty to Trump prevent you from looking at the situation objectively.  It's not just Democrats calling for Trump to be ousted immediately.  I think the best case scenario right now for the country as a whole would be Trump resigning.

Pelosi and Schumer, 8th June 2020:
"Lafayette Square should be a symbol of freedom and openness, not a place behind which the leader of our Executive Branch cowers in fear of protesters who are crying out for justice"

Me today:
"The Capitol should be a symbol of freedom and openness, not a place behind which the leaders of our Legislative Branch cower in fear of protesters who are crying out for justice"

Here's a video of the 'protesters who are crying out for freedom' beating the absolute shit out of a cop while dragging him down the steps of the capital.

I'm not sure if it was the cop who died or not.

Looks like this one was armed and planning on taking hostages:

You are obviously not a lawyer.  You have no idea what the standards for disbarment are.  Please stop opining from total ignorance—or else hit up West/Lexis, and show some case law applicable to any circumstance even remotely similar.  Every state has mountains of published opinions about its rules of professional conduct for attorneys.  Have fun with that.

No no no. Their reasoning was complete utter shit and I am taking absolutely nothing out of context.

Twitter's reasoning for the ban:

"We assessed the two Tweets referenced above under our Glorification of Violence policy, which aims to prevent the glorification of violence that could inspire others to replicate violent acts and determined that they were highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021."

The cited tweet was Trump saying that he would not attend the inauguration. That is reaching at straws. With how lose the interpretation is, you could tie literally any tweet from a politician as a call for violence. When democrats were whining about the election in 2016 and delegitimizing Trump's victory, I'm sure I could find some tweets that could very loosely encourage violence by bending over backwards in logic the way Twitter is.

Give me a break, read the first two sentences of the post again and then see if you still want to argue that whether or not he planned to attend the inauguration has literally anything to do with why he was banned.  https://blog.twitter.com/en_us/topics/company/2020/suspension.html

He used twitter to organize the event that ended up being a violent attack.  They banned him to reduce the chances of another one happening.

They didn't even fact check him lol

Yes, they did - over and over.  Mostly when he was spreading misinformation about the election process and outcome.

They banned him because he refused to attend Biden's inauguration. I posted a link to @TwitterSafety earlier where they openly admitted this.

You should click on the link and read the article.  If you already did, it would seem like you're intentionally taking it out of cont

Trump did not tell people to go out and be violent, if he did, he deserves the ban.

Are you really going to play the 'he didn't explicitly say to go be violent'?  That's so lame.

He was responsible for the "Save America/Stop the Steal Rally", scheduled to coincide with congress counting votes.

Then he hyped the event tweeting things like "it will be wild", "the country needs you to fight"

And here's what he told them right before they marched over and stormed the capital:

"And after this, we're going to walk down and I'll be there with you. We're going to walk down--

We're going to walk down. Anyone you want, but I think right here, we're going to walk down to the Capitol--

And we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women and we're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them.

Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong."

If we're playing by your rules, should Bernie Sanders be banned from twitter after demonizing Republicans causing some sick fuck to go out and try and execute the minority whip? There's no way anyone should be defending Trump's ban. Twitter is a private company and can do what it pleases, but I'm not going to pretend like this isn't completely bizarre and deranged. It's also what leftists were begging for over the last 4 years.

Bernie didn't incite violence.  Trump did.  Many times. So, no, I don't think Bernie should be banned from Twitter.  But if Twitter wants to ban Bernie, I think it should be the response of their users they have to worry about, not the government.

And they aren't my rules.  It's basic ethics. Dorsey built twitter and is the current CEO - if someone is using twitter to do something horrible, it's his responsibility to stop them from using twitter.

First it's Trump, then who?

Trump wasn't first, they ban tons of people for violating their terms every day.  They already explained that he would've been banned a while ago if it weren't for the fact that he was president.  Personally I wish they would've held him to the same standards as everyone else.

If you are at least bronze level, you have been invited to the VIP telegram channel of Stake with the link by the support host. If you have no VIP ranking there, forget about it. By the way, each wagered $1000 is equal to $1 on a weekly boost. I don't know how the calculations are made for the monthly bonus.

Where do you find that information? I have never heard about that calculation before so I'm curious about it, does it apply for all VIP levels? Lets say a user with Platinum level and one user with Bronze level, both users wagered the same amount (lets say $50k) during the past 7 days, means that both users will get the same amount? Afaik there is a fixed amount for each level, and the wagered amount during the past 7 days is an additional amount for the bonus but I do not know if it is $1 per $1000 wagered like what you say.
The chat moderators and other high-rank VIP users have shared this information on Stake chat, btw the same information can be confirmed by checking the stake forum. I am sure it is a $1 reward per $1000 wager but the base amount is different depending on the VIP rank. Someone with a higher rank can confirm this. For losers, it is not good because Stake only pays bonuses based on wagering, unlike lossback.

The $1 per $1k + base is definitely about right for weekly boost.

I think daily reloads (set weekly), monthly and level up bonuses all have lossback as part of the calculation.
