2141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GRAND COIN - 1 GRAND PER BLOCK and SUPER BLOCKS released TODAY 13/07/13 on: February 02, 2014, 10:29:25 PM
Hi guys, I've been thinking of 'adopting' Grandcoin since original dev abandoned it. I've some expirience (I created an altcoin). The only impediment I'm having right now is time. I have got a lot of things to do, and can't even found time to support my own coin, but I really enjoy the altcoin world/community and I like Grandcoin.

I've been trading and mining Grandcoin for almost 5 months so I think I'm some how involved.

I post this so you know this coin is not dead. I'll make a new thread soon so I can update/edit all links and stuff.

Regards.

I'd like to do anything I can.
2142  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Not] Good price at CEX.io on: January 28, 2014, 06:47:32 PM
NOT recommend. I did some investiment in it, about 24 BTC. The mining profit is just less than the price falling, seeing a falling from initial 0.046GH/BTC to about 0.039GH/BTC, and now it is 0.038. I now sold all of GHs and withraw all out. Don't want go back. I lost about 1 BTC.

Anyone can tell me if I am wrong, or if there is a way to get profits, just let me know. I got the impression that price falling is unavoidable, not like altcoin/BTC markets, down and up.

Where are you shipping from?

Yeah, I don't realize the price right now; just offer me the price if you are interested to these. I'd like to get rid of them soon.
2145  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling three ASICMiner Cubes on: January 27, 2014, 08:14:55 AM
Thank you for the information. I'll keep an eye on it.

Not to talk you out of it, but this PSU is powering 2 for me and I got it for $90... If you decide to hold you might want to try it:
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMPSU-850TX-850-Watt-Certified-compatible/dp/B001M3G42W/ref=sr_1_38?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1390688374&sr=1-38

Edit: they sold out of the one I meant to link... They had a tx850 for $95 a few hours ago, had it bookmarked but Amazon picked the related similar and higher priced model. Keep an eye out for a used tx850, rock solid and cheap.

Edit 2: now it's back... for $90 it's such a solid PSU, almost want to buy it myself but on a spending freeze right now.

2147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So now premine becomes popular? on: January 26, 2014, 07:58:05 PM
If this gets something, there will be lots of similar coins. Mining is useless.

The point is now that coins can be just created, like the fiat currency, by not the government, but single person. This is a wrong way of going.

What are you doing in the cryptocurrency forums then? This is  a huge part of the whole idea behind crypto.

2149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So now premine becomes popular? on: January 26, 2014, 07:35:11 PM
What the hell is "[PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only"? Why this kind of sh*t gets the focus? Is there a rule getting rid of this kind of post in this forum? Bitcointalk is filled up this kind of scam?

So what we pay for buying PMC gets into the pocket of the developers. Are you guys seriously considering that this is what you are investing? They get money, because you may lose.

Ok, another logic, you are expecting more profits than what you invest. See there will be some other people just losing more money. Is that simple?

Is there a new thread about Grandcoin? Being interested.

Hey guys I think we should create a new Grandcoin thread, since we can't edit and update this one. What do you think?
2151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Selling premine coin PMC TRADING THREAD on: January 26, 2014, 07:01:04 AM
Guys, these are premined!! So we buy coins making some people richer!!!

A lower starting point is reasonable then, whatever, I offer 1btc for 50K, PM me if you interested
2152  Economy / Computer hardware / Selling three ASICMiner Cubes [sold] on: January 22, 2014, 07:32:44 PM
I had a headache with my three ASICMiner Cubes (each 30GH/s to 38GH/s (overclock option)), and want to deal with them. If anyone wants it: 0.6 BTC/ea, or 1.5 BTC/all. (I bought 1BTC/ea in December).

I don't see any malfunctions in the cube. They just work great with the specified hashing rate. The following are what happened. If you are interested to them, just PM me or send me an email (joescgm@gmail.com). You can also give me an offer if you want. I am seriously dealing with them and will definitely deliver them to you.

The thing with them is that some of them randomly shut off, but if one runs standalone, it just works fine. Initially I used "Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold - 1200W Power Supply with 80 PLUS Gold Certification and Semi-Modular Cables" to power them. After some time (two weeks or so), one of them stopped working (plugging in and out just makes it work again). After searching online, I decide to buy another power supply, which plus the old supply did support them properly. However, an incident happened recently when I swithched the new power supply with another as I need to use the new one for other purpose. After this, however, some of them repeat the same problem. Even now the Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold cannot support two at the same time. This is very weird to me. If the supply powers up two at the same time, both last for some time and then one (randomly) stops. I got an impression that my power supplies become deteriorated. When they are running, no "x" in the row on "Chips" in the web interface show up. The hashing rate is 30GH/s and can go up to 38GH/s when overclocked. So I am pretty sure they are working, maybe due to the settings or the subnetwork, etc. I just don't want spending time on them. If you want, I can also get the power consumption when I have access to them. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
2153  Bitcoin / Mining / A question about pool workers on: January 16, 2014, 07:34:34 PM
Hi everyone, I have three GPU miners and I am wondering whether the number of pool workers affects mining efficiency. Is there any difference between using one for all, and each using its own worker (totally will be three workers)? Thanks.
2154  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Not] Good price at CEX.io on: January 16, 2014, 03:42:07 PM
I guess it depends on how you invest your BTC in Cex. Definitely I won't buy any hardwares from them. The price of hardware is 10 times higher than others, for example, KNC, 3THs at 12 BTC or so. Buying hardware is stupid and won't get back any ROI.

But, what if you buy some GHs and use it to mine; after mining a while, you exchanges your GHs into BTC at the same rate of buying it. You get some profits, right? To be simple, you win if you buy GHs low and sell it high or at the same rate. Risk lies in all the investments. All depend on you.

I invested a few BTCs, vvvvvery disappointed. Is there any chance we can get it back, at least exchanging the share still on hold? SAI was just delisted!!
2156  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 10, 2014, 07:24:14 PM
I had the same issue with my three cubes, one or two of them randomly shuts off. My impression is that the cube is kind of sensitive to the power supply. Well, I tried a couple of power supplies I had to power one cube (up to 750W, don't remember the brand), while none work until I bought this one: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold - 1200W Power Supply with 80 PLUS Gold Certification and Semi-Modular Cables. So this should be powerful and enough for three cubes, as they are designed to be only 600W in total (without overclock). This did work for some time (two weeks or so), then it won't. Sounds very strange to me. Ok, this is what happed. I can start three cubes when power on and they last maybe a couple of minutes. I can find them through subnetwork, showing that they are active. After that, one stops to mine (cannot find it anymore), luckly another one stops as well. When two are working, I re-plug the wire of the third (pull out and in), so it starts working (the red LED blinking); however, one of the two immediatesly stops (red LED gone and never come back), once the third is up and runs. From this experiment, I do think this a kind of power supply problem. Either the power supply becomes worse (unlikely to me, since it can still support two overclocked), or the cubes consume more power (my impression is that it stablizes at the factory value but there is temporary a higher power consumption at a very short period). Not sure about this. Anyway, I'll try to power on the third one when my new ordered power supply arrives soon. By the way, cubes runs in 192.168.0.x; I'll try 192.168.1.x and see any differences.

Thank you guys. I just had a rough check in http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator; it is completely nonprofitable unless the machine arrives in a month.

Hi All,

I am wondering if it is still profitable to buy a 3TH miner (10BTC) right now, and receive it in two months or so. Looks like there are lots of TH miners already out there. The difficulty could rise rapidly two months later. Thank you for your advice.
2160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: January 06, 2014, 06:57:09 AM
Same issue in UNO, maybe more. Hope Gliss can double check the data source. This will be surely a lot of work.

I have been regularly checking coinmarketcap for trading on exchange, usually both are consistent. But these days, some coins definitely have issues.

This site can provide some idea of virtual currency activity, but cannot be relied upon. One example is http://coinmarketcap.com/asc_30.html, Just take a look. At no point did ASC crash and then rebound. Coinmarketcap makes it appear that the coin is increasing in value, when in fact it has done nothing but gradually decline for a few days.

Glitches like this (along with so many others) make this site a very unreliable source of information. All data really should be confirmed on the exchange; often an exchange will show the true story.
