para naman bukas, baka may gustong sumabay..

Bulls -11
Kings -5.5
Jazz -9
Warriors -4.5
Bucks -4.5

Stephen Curry injury update: Warriors star out indefinitely with partial ligament and membrane tears in leg

Quote
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has been ruled out indefinitely after suffering partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane, as well as a lower leg contusion, the team announced on Sunday. An official timeline will be announced at a later date, but per Shams Charania, the injuries are expected to keep him out for multiple weeks.
2162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 05, 2023, 01:21:33 PM
And the 4th quarter belongs to the Magnolia, it's just unfortunate that they ran out of timeout so they cannot make the right play for the last shot. It was a thrilling game, CJ Perez missed 2 information FT's that could have give them a 4 point lead, good thing for them that Paul Lee miss the last shot which is a 3 point shot, it could have been a big disappointment for the team.

Thrilling game indeed and SMB Beermen were just lucky to escape the rally mounted by Magnolia in the fourth quarter.

So, we have another close game here between the Ginebra Kings and the ROS Elasto Painters. 80-81 is the score after 3 quarters of play and i'm lucky to have pushed the bet button for Ginebra ML @2.55 when the Elastopainters were up by 7 points.

Hoping that Ginebra will finished off ROS in the fourth quarter  Grin.
It was an intense games for today, and didn't expect this high quality game early this conference.
Both Magnolia and ROS lose on their respective games and they are so eager to have their first win unfortunately their opponent is too good for them but it was a close game so nothing to ashamed of. Magnolia had a closer chance of winning the game, but SMB manage to escape that and take the win. Ginebra on the other hand are controlling the game, its too late for ROS to have a run but still a close one. Missed to bet for todays game, will try to catch up next game.

Ginebra did finish the ROS in the 4th quarter, however, I'm not sure if Ginebra did cover the spread because that 3 point shot taken by ROS could probably destroy the spread if it was Ginebra -8.5. When Brownlee took over, ROS has no answer anymore and they seem to lose the defense they showed in the 3rd quarter.

2164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 04, 2023, 08:42:26 PM
Might be best for now to forget about the Crawford-Spence fight because the chances of happening the said bout is getting slimmer and slimmer as months and days goes by. Spence and Al Haymon is getting very unpredictable these days, all silent about their move and stuff and boom, the whole world is suddenly surprised because they made another circus in the industry with of course the blessing of the corrupt governing bodies.

When the first negotiation failed last year between Spence and Crawford's camp, should be right at that time when boxing fans should now forget it. The negotiation that happened last year was almost a done deal and the majority is now expecting an official announcement but at the last minute, it was announced failed instead due to some reason that is not being disclosed to the public.

Let's accept the fact now that Spence won't meet Crawford because there are lots of obstacles that are ruining the plan. Crawford just needs to move forward and win his future fights but since being not under any big promoters, he will likely just face a cherry-picked opponent as it's tough for his camp to secure a big fight without the involvement of a big promoter and that's the reality in boxing nowadays.

maybe both camps did not agree with the purse split. but in any case, we already moved on from this possible fight as each of them have already gone their separate ways. i think this will be another repeat of mayweather-pacquiao history. their respective promoters will make a deal once their respective boxers are already past their prime.

I think that Crawford has to focus on other boxers, win-win and not depend so much on a decision by Spence, if Spence doesn't want to fight him, why despite all that is what the boxer wants, and under no circumstances does he want to. to have the fight with him, at least not right now, so Crawford is a boxer who is giving too much importance to him and this is not good, because he will always live in the shadow of what Spence does and decides, I instead from Crawford I would forget about that fight and I would make life make Spence look for me for this fight, the world goes around a lot and this is something that can happen, you just have to be very patient.

Actually that's what he did, although he fought a less known fighter in Avanesyan after the fall out of the him and Spence negotiations. So probably he will continue to fight at 147 lbs and welcome all challengers, maybe the likes of Ortiz or Ennis (if he can still negotiate with PBC and Al Haymon). Or there is a picture of him and Oscar so perhaps there is an offer to fight under the banner or fight someone under GBP. So a lot of things are in the table for Crawford although the fight that we wanted is him and Spence.

You know, let's just understand Crawford's decision if he is still chasing with Spence because if we are on his shoes, I bet we will want the same thing too even if there are still other food on the table for us to choose from. What Spence have was the only lacking thing that Crawford need in-order to be the first back-to-back undisputed champion and to make a history.
2165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 04, 2023, 08:21:40 PM
^ Ya, that is crazy news that Kyrie has formally requested a trade with only a short time before the trade deadline. It isn’t totally unexpected though. KD hasn’t been healthy, Ben Simmons is a mess, and Kyrie wants to win championships. I think he needs LeBron. We’ll see what happens but I’m sure Lakers fans everywhere are hoping that a Kyrie for Westbrook trade happens. I can’t imagine it does for many reasons, but I’m not sure who is in a position to trade for Kyrie.
That would be a great deal for the Lakers if that happens but usually, we get to see these trades that are favoring the team that will be left or traded for.
This is an exciting developing story and if the rumors are true then there's an increased chance for the Lakers to be seen continuing to play together with Lebron but, it's on them to do the deal.
The question is if the Brooklyn Nets will agree with it. I mean, it's Westbrook and I do think Kyrie Irving is still more valuable than him especially when it comes to being dominating on both inside and outside shooting. Kyrie can definitely shoot and make successful isolation plays.
The Lakers should make the deal sweeter or there won't be any trade discussion that could happen.

If I'm not mistaken, the Nets management are willing to let go of Irving years ago, after he doesn't want to take the vaccine because of his own belief. And it really throw them off as obviously he can't play that time as the NBA mandated everyone to get a vaccine.

And then the whole statement of him, his anti-Semitic stance that cause him a 5 game suspension.

It just so happen that he looks valuable because there is no Kevin Durant and he become the main man. And with that, I think teams are reluctant to discuss trade talks involving Kyrie, in my opinion.

I think Irving is really good, Durant cannot win also without Irving, remember the last playoffs when they were beating teams, including the Bucks whom they dominated in the first 2 games, but when Irving was injured in game 3, things have changed and that resulted to Nets losing to the Bucks in a 6 game series if I'm not mistaken.

Well, their chances are now improved because they got another helping hand but still, without either one of Durant and Irving, the Brooklyn Nets will eventually crumble because Irving and Durant is not the type of player who can lift the team. Both of them need each other to reach further than where they've been last time. The challenge now is, Kyrie Irving is the one who is forcing the trade because the Nets won't give him another contract.
2166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 04, 2023, 06:56:02 PM
Seriously, where did you guys get these ideas? Do you guys really think Donaire is not retiring yet because money matters?

He feels he can still match with those remaining Bantamweight boxers now that Inoue moved up. Donaire already face the fiercest monster in the Bantamweight and that experience makes him think that he can still dominate other Bantamweight.

As long as he's pursuing only a title match, I will gladly support him. But if it's just about another match with no bearing, better to retire. Fortunately, he was still at the top of the rankings that's why even at 40 years old, he's still getting a chance for a title match.
Like the idea that after his title match, many speculates that he'll retire after. The guess that we mostly have is about his retirement should come very soon but before doing that, he has to satisfy himself and get that title before it finally happens. I agree with you that there's no more big barricade for the title as Inoue has already left it vacated and that's why the opportunity for Donaire is there and he has to come and take it. And anyway, since this match won't be up soon anymore and has already been said to be cancelled since Moloney declined the offer, much better to lock the topic.

Yes, there's only two options but there's still no guarantees about it even if the chances are higher that Donaire will hang his gloves if he will prevail in this fight and will be a world champion once again. Why? That would be a good exit for him rather than retiring after having a defeat and certainly, Inoue won't be a factor for that because he can still do a good job in the ring especially now that the biggest threat already climbed up.
2167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 04, 2023, 06:36:51 PM
I believe this match will prove how good fighter is jake paul, because obviously his opponent has good history as well. Well i know jake paul already fought an ufc fighter and he knocked it out but now obviously this time it's different in my personal opinion because Tommy can really box and has been practicing for it for ao long now.. so surely he already knew so much stuff about boxing compared to jake, i mean like how to defeat and to get the weakness of his opponent since that's the most important strategy.

This time is different, yes, but it's still the same because Tommy Fury is not a decent boxer or we can't even call him a bonafide boxer as Tommy nor Jake Paul is currently not on any rankings because their fights are like exhibition fights even if it's contested professionally. I know there will be a lot of people who will argue with me with that, but it is what it is.

Now, I know Jake Paul is good and somehow already experienced enough to keep up with real boxers in the industry but this bout will not show how good he is as in the first place, he is not up against a good boxer.
2168  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 04, 2023, 06:11:47 PM

Good luck

Friends, I might disappoint you by saying that Bivol vs Beterbiev fight is not going to happen in nearest future. The reason is simple - Dmitri Bivol is representing Russia. In November 2022, Mauricio Sulaiman, world boxing council, has removed Russian and Belorussian boxer from ranking and dont allow them to participate. So either the war ends before their potential fight (not likely), or he will make an exception for Bivol (also not likely), or Bivol would have to change his passport. Probably both will have one more fight before they might possibly meet.
I don't think all those options will happen. Damn war and politics affecting our beloved sports. Thanks for clearing that out though, it seems like we forgot there's a war happening out there.
Also according here, he has not approached WBC yet for an exemption.
Quote
“Bivol has not approached the WBC (to ask for an exemption)," Sulaiman told reporters and Izquierdazo. “At our last Convention, we were very clear about our position in relation to fighters from Russia and Belarus. And that is the case with Bivol."
Well, I guess we have no choice but to wait for that war to end.

We almost forgot it since it's been a year since these 2 countries are still bombarding with each other. Many Ukrainians are affected, heritages being destroyed and at the same time, sports has been affected on these 2 countries and that includes the boxers from Russia and Belarus which is a bit unfortunate if you are a boxing fan. I just hope that this war will end soon or maybe this year, and I also hope that this war between between 2 countries will not escalate anymore to the point that other countries will join the war.

I guess the best option for Bivol with the 3 options that he shares is to change his passport. I don't expect the WBC to make an exception for him just for the sake of money. Very disappointing, but understandable and it's beyond his control anymore.

I'm also guilty about that as I did also forgot that there's an unfortunate situation that is still going on in the North because Dmitry Bivol already got two fights even at the height of the Ukrain-Russia war and honestly, I did not see this coming that the WBC will still keep their stand about the Russian/Belarus fighters because I did think that they are now on a neutral phase because sports is an entertainment and the said fighters doesn't have any concerns and involvements about the ongoing war. This is just too unfortunate, not just for them but to us, the avid boxing fans as well.
2170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 02, 2023, 08:19:51 PM

Yeah, he has proven that he can win outside of his native country Japan. But if this one is going to be held in Saitama again, Inoue will have so much confident because he wanted to please the crowd again, just like what he did against Donaire, devastating knockout win.

Perhaps we may want to re-phrase that, chances of Fulton are slim to stop the train hype of the Inoue. Naoya is on a destructive path that we don't know who is going to beat him in 122 lbs.

Fulton is really in a tough challenge here as Inoue will be the crowd favorite despite being the challenger. I can't imagine this fight will end in judges' scorecards as if we follow the trend, Inoue will easily win here via KO. As long as Fulton is willing to go toe to toe, it will not be a boring fight, and of course, he has to suffer a painful defeat as Inoue is such a heavy hitter.
It's already understood that he is the crowd favorite because he is a very popular fighter. Per https://www.ringtv.com/ratings/, Inoue is ranked number 2 in the pound for pound ranking, that's how popular he is, and as he keeps winning impressively, eventually he will get the top spot. I don't know, maybe other source will already give him the number 1 spot.

I guess not that easy because Canelo Alvarez is still holding his throne and that won't be easy for Inoue to replace, although I know his time will come sooner because he's much younger than Canelo and eventually he will replace him. Aside from that, the only possible way for Inoue to get the P4P King title is if Canelo will have another defeat.

Back to the fight, this will be indeed a challenge for Fulton and I'm excited what would be his move against Inoue because he's still the champion here and I expect that he will not give that belt easily as Fulton himself wanted this fight before he jumps to the next weight class.
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 02, 2023, 06:26:19 PM
I have the Warriors +10.5 against the Nuggets. What do you think about the spread? is it a gift or just a trap?

Warriors came from a disappointing loss, and might be tired going to this game but I don't think they'll lose in double-digit against the home team.
About injury, there's no announcement yet that one of their best players will not play, like Curry or Thompson.

So would you guys take the handicap?
I find the Warriors quite hard to read at the moment but the current odds @1.90+ is already decent. I don't see any reason not to take that bet since no reported injuries on starting players as you mentioned. I'm not betting on them on ML but they should be able to cover that +10.5 handicap.

Yes, as of now, there's no reported injuries for the entire Warriors roster except for Andre Igoudala. The starters are quite healthy but lately, they've been playing too long without having any rests in-between and they just had a back-to-back game with a loss too. Let's already consider that maybe Steph or Klay might take the day-off, so that won't be having any wear and tear in the upcoming days. But I agree, a +10.5 handicap is not that bad.
2172  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 02, 2023, 06:06:31 PM

Goodluck!

Lakers ML
Bulls -6.5
Warriors +10.5
Clippers ML (sana maglaro si PG and Leonard)

2173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 08:45:15 PM
Crazy ending to that Lakers game. LeBron got another chance to get a game winner but this time he passed the ball to Anthony Davis who then committed an offensive foul which ended up with the game going to overtime. They still won and LeBron moved a little closer to the record. Westbrook seemed to get a lot of crunch time minutes as well.
That was a lucky break for the Knicks, it's just that their last play was not planned well, I think it should be Brunson who should take the last shot as he is hot in that game, for sure if he missed it, he might get a foul. I don't understand why it was Randle who took the last shot.
Randle, as I observed him, he wanted to be the go-to guy of the team. I also consider that it should be Brunson to take that last
shot as he got a much better percentage, and he's not new in carrying a team.
Remember when Luka was out during the semis against the Sun's this man really help the team to win games and not to allow
Suns to take advantage of them.
But nothing that can be changed now, good to see that Lakers wins might be another controversial missed call.

The Lakers played well as a team. At a point, I actually thought that it might go south for Lakers. But in the end, everything was all right. LeBron James and Anthony Davis played well. Lakers have been through a bad form recently. And it was good to see that Lakers have won this game. They have not been consistent at all. Hopefully, this will be the time when they start being consistent. Five wins in the last 10 are probably not up to the standards that Lakers set for themselves.

Fair point but I have to way that the Lakers somehow got lucky this night because the Knicks are out of their form lately and it's quite surprising that Randle took that shot because it's been proven that he is not a clutch player. Yes, he's quite reliable to shoot whenever the team needs him but under pressure? He's not the go-to-guy for the Knicks, that is why a lot of people has been left wondering why he was chosen to have the ball in the most crucial seconds.
2174  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 01, 2023, 08:12:03 PM

Good luck to us all.

Goodluck!
2175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 01, 2023, 05:59:47 PM

No official date yet but it will be in the month of May. The venue is in Japan and it's the first time that Fulton will fight outside the USA.
Hopefully as soon as possible all of us who are here can see the date/day/month of boxing between Naoya Inoue vs Stephen Fulton.

Fulton has to be convincing if he wants to win this fight, I mean, it will be held in Japan, so the judges might favor Inoue if this will go to the judges scorecards. Inoue is known for knocking out his opponent early, so it's not expected to reach the judges scorecards, but just in case though.

Well, there were many robberies and controversial decisions as well in the US which favors their own fighters. And I haven't heard of a robbery decision in Japan that's regularly hosting many world title fights yearly.

I have nothing but respect for Stephen Fulton for taking the fight in Japan. Inoue even if he is the challenger is the A-side since he is a 3-division and was a former undisputed champion. So Inoue deserves the homecourt advantage. The officiating in Japan should be fine unlike in South Africa and Thailand where the visitor needs a KO to win.

That's what makes Japan shine from the rest of countries here in this world because apart from the fact that they have a competitive people especially in the world of sports, they also have a good conduct and you can expect that the people living in that country are really honest that's why they got a good image. Surely, they wouldn't want to give their nation a bad name just for the sake of getting some advantage.

Apart from that, yes, Fulton deserve some credits for visiting the country of the challenger of his belts as that took some guts. We all know that the holder of the belts have the say where they want the fight to happen but this scenario is somehow different because the fight will be more profitable if it's going to be hosted by Japan.
2176  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: February 01, 2023, 05:35:56 PM
Well, I have to clarify that personally I have never had any loan or debt in my life so this thread has nothing to do with my experience but intends to find out how people in loan/debt deal with the problem. Let's say you take loans from a bank and sometimes for whatever reason, you can not pay the debt on time, then you borrow money from other channels. Sure this works for a certain period but later bad things may happen, you have to postpone the payment and struggle with finances again. Isn't this a vicious circle ? How would you deal with the problem ? I am all ears.

As they say, you can't correct a mistake by committing another mistake. Well, I'm not saying that taking a loan from an online platform or bank is not a wise thing to do, but those funds should only be taken and used for emergencies only or some other important things that needs urgency. But taking a loan just to get your wants even if that's really not important isn't a wise move because those loans got interests entailed with it and in every due you failed to pay will make the interests worse, and hence, why some people will borrow just to pay those loans and end up in debts again.
2177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 01, 2023, 05:11:23 PM
I should have taken the handicap for the Bucks, but I'm fine with the results. Not as big, but it's a good start for this week, hehehe.
A good start indeed. I hope it continues and to me as well. It sucks to see many losing bets and I hate chasing losses, it adds stress.

9 games tomorrow guys, place your bets guys.
Detroit Pistons vs Washington Wizards - Washington Wizards (-5.5) Gafford is questionable to play. Although I think Kuzma, Porzingis, and Beal would suffice to beat the Pistons. The Wizards are hot at 6th winning streak. They have to continue to 7 and climb the ladder to the 8th spot of the East.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Portland Trail Blazers - Memphis Grizzlies (-5.5) After being defeated 5 times, Grizzlies gained their confidence back by defeating the Pacers, time to go back to winning more. Desmond Bane is questionable to play.

Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets - Boston Celtics (-8.5) Simmons and Warren are out.

San Antonio Spurs vs Sacramento Kings - Sacramento Kings (-7.5) Kings all the way!

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors - Golden State Warriors (-4.5) The Warriors are feeling it again, complete roster except for Iguodala who we know doesn't really play much even at a healthy status. Put Wiggins on Edwards and that will stop their offense.

I am thinking about combining the Orlando Magic ML into a small parlay to enhance the multiplied profits. It's risky but might be worth it if they win.
Good luck everyone.

While it's easy to say not to chase our losses, we ourselves sometimes can't keep from chasing it and it's truly hard because we really wanted to recover from those losses and taste some victory. I guess, that's a matter of how strong our will and patience is to keep ourselves from chasing.

Anyway, I'll be tailing some of your bets mate. You and @Yugin seems to be in a good spot these days Grin

Celtics -8
Kings -7
Warriors -2.5

Lakers ML at Cavaliers -5

The problem with refs making a mistake like that is the fact that nothing really changes. I have been watching NBA for over 20 years and seen them make a lot of mistakes, either in important situations or even in not so important situations, the time Tim Duncan got ejected for laughing is still in my mind, there was something done about that eventually though.

However, the thing about the current situation is that, if you do not fine the refs and suspend them for a long period of time for making such a game deciding mistake, then what is stopping them from doing it again? Or another one doing it? That is why refs needs to be held accountable a lot more, and we need a lot more refs to replace them if they make a mistake.

I really couldn't agree more with you about this sentiment. These refs should be held accountable for their mistakes so that they will refrain from doing such things and start to get disciplined to only call an action that is needed, and I believe their work got easier because of the Replay Center. Some referees are already old, and I am certainly inclined that there's a long line of queue in their line of work.
2180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: January 30, 2023, 11:44:34 AM
