21621  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: January 07, 2014, 03:36:55 AM
A few years ago, I was completely addicted to Age of Empires. Used to play 10-12 hours a day, despite nausea and headache. Fortunately pulled out of that bad habit in 2008.

My friend suggested this to me as he plays 6-8 hours a day. It must be pretty good?

AoE 3 is pretty good, as long as you don't get addicted to it.  Grin
21622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taiwan Regulators Block Robocoin Bitcoin ATMs on: January 07, 2014, 03:35:13 AM
The population of Switzerland is 8 million and Germany is 82 million. The population of Taiwan is 23 million and China is 1.35 billion. It would be nice if it was the other way around. I'd give up Switzerland for China. The city of Guangzhou, China has 4 million more people than the country of Switzerland.

If we don't want users and are just looking at wealth then we need to get the tiny countries of Qatar (2 million) and Luxembourg (500 thousand people) on board.

Bitcoin is just 5 years old! So I will not complain at all. Switzerland and Germany is better than nothing at all. And I'd rank the German economy on par with the Chinese one.
21623  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-05] Litecoin 2014: Will Litecoin Overtake Bitcoin In The New Year? on: January 07, 2014, 03:26:55 AM
I'd like to see LTC closer to LTC/BTC 0.1 by the end of the year and more services and shops

There were a few online shops (such as Atlantis) and services (LTC-Global) which accepted LTC. But all of them has closed down.

No surprise there. Blockchain.info is probably the only online wallet which everyone can trust.
21625  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-04] The Texas Tribune : Stockman Enters Legal Gray Area With Bitcoins on: January 07, 2014, 03:24:53 AM
Sen. Cruz is the popular one from TX, not Cornyn. All Stockman needs to do is raise his name ID and he'll be able to raise plenty of money from conservative and libertarian PACs all across the country (Club 4 Growth, FreedomWorks, Americans For Prosperity, Senate Conservatives' Fund, etc). The guy has a strong voting record @ FreedomWorks and he can take the Cruz path to victory over the establishment pick. Plus, it's early and these polls always look like this in a primary this soon. This guy is heavily liked in the Ron Paul/Rand Paul wing of the GOP.

Check this. 44 points behind. Do you think he is having any chance of winning this race?
21626  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-03] Indian Tax Authorities Seek Clarification on Bitcoin on: January 07, 2014, 03:22:54 AM
I just saw a post a few minutes ago saying that a new exchange will open in India because they got the approval ?!? Not sure what's going with India
As LiteCoinGuy said, happy to see BTC taxed (and recognized)

Possible. In India, you can get anything if you are ready to pay a fixed amount of bribes to the ruling party. The Indian National Congress has set new world records in corruption. Their term is going to end in less than 5 months from now, and it is almost sure that they'll be wiped out in the 2014 elections. So currently there is a scramble to loot as much money as possible. If someone pays them $$$, then it will be possible for him to open a BTC exchange.

Did he predicted in 2012 end that Bitcoin will touch $1,000 ? If yes, then I will consider his current arguments. If not, then I'll tell him to GTFO.

See what Zynga has done. And imagine what could happen if some online giant such as Amazon accepts Bitcoin?

Can you even imagine?

Such as Overstock.com???  done... at least there are plans announced for Q3 2014, heh.

Annual revenue of Overstock is around $ 1.1 b. That of Amazon is $ 61.1 billion. Can't even compare.
21629  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-04] The Texas Tribune : Stockman Enters Legal Gray Area With Bitcoins on: January 06, 2014, 05:59:43 PM
I don't know Stockman but he seems to me to be another dubious character jumping on the bitcoin bandwagon for publicity.

From the article" This man is running for the Senate in a state with 26 million people. By conventional measures, he is not doing it well. One recent poll had him down by 44 points. Also, of the 12 groups listed under “past and present endorsements” on Stockman’s Senate campaign site, as of Friday at least seven had not actually endorsed him for the Senate.

Another “endorsement” is attributed to Howard Phillips, a conservative activist who died seven months before Stockman got in the race.

After The Washington Post inquired about problems with the endorsements list, Ferguson said the information was being updated, and on Saturday the endorsements page had disappeared."

He has no chance of winning the senate primary against a heavyweight like Cornyn... but he will remain as the United States Representative for Texas's 36th congressional district.
21630  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014-01-04 SeekingAlpha: Zynga Savings May Be Material To Earnings on: January 06, 2014, 05:55:21 PM
I love how everyone overlooks the fact that Zynga's target audience are people who are barely computer literate.

90% may not be computer literate. But the remaining 10% will be our target audienceGrin
21631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bignews: Facebook to implement Bitcoin Payments on their Advertising Platform on: January 06, 2014, 05:53:17 PM
So the news was fake afterall... little bit disappointed. When Bitcoin Examiner covered it, I thought that there was some truth behind the news. Anyway, lets focus on the positive news for the day.
21632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taiwan Regulators Block Robocoin Bitcoin ATMs on: January 06, 2014, 05:51:23 PM
We don't need Taiwan because we have the rest of the world.

Exactly. Already Switzerland, Germany and many other smaller nations have legalized Bitcoin. The rest will follow.
21633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taiwan Regulators Block Robocoin Bitcoin ATMs on: January 06, 2014, 02:26:12 PM

Watch this video. Everything is crystal clear.

Too good to be true.

But I can say one thing with 101% confidence.... if any of the online giants (Amazon or Google / Adsense or Facebook) starts accepting Bitcoin, then the exchange rate will go insane.

I am talking about exchange rates in the range of 1 BTC = $5,000 to $10,000.  Grin
21635  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014-01-04 SeekingAlpha: Zynga Savings May Be Material To Earnings on: January 06, 2014, 02:20:09 PM
Isn't Bitpays fee 5% (?)

I've signed up for it just to see what it's like for a potential retailer in Australia and it charged $105 in BTC for a $100 QR code, are Zynga getting a special deal or sum shit?

Bitpay does not charge that much of a premium. Probably the merchant or retailer added 4.8% extra charges for processing BTC transactions.

I have taken part in at least 7-8 online IQ tests. Scores varied from 128 to 138.

There would be a huge amount of cheap labor. I said anyone can come in.

Cheap labor will cause another problem. The average salary will go down. Local people, who were previously receiving $15 / hr for their work will receive something like $8 / hr.
