2181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Blockfolio ~Bitcoin and Altcoin Portfolio App~ Android and iOS on: January 12, 2023, 04:46:58 AM
I might have been one of the first users back in 2014. When #Blockfolio was acquired by #FTX, the best crypto tracker went downhill. And now we are down in hell. The only reason why I rejected #FTX is due to this fact. #Blockfolio, time for revival!!!
I'm looking for Ed Moncada twitter, if he has such. Do you have any tips where to find him?

OP, at what point did you realize you were not comfortable reading the forum on your phone? Why did you choose to ask this question today? Registration 2013. You're old enough for the forum to not know how to use search. Here are some of the threads that have been created on an issue that concerns you; why not read them instead of creating a separate thread on a topic that has been discussed many times?

Why doesn't the Bitcointalk forum have a mobile app?

This is how bitcointalk.org looks like on a mobile phone

Why we need a mobile compatible forum??
2183  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A new godfather virus for android that steals data from cryptocurrency applicati on: January 11, 2023, 02:31:39 PM
Thank you for this information senior but I do have some few questions
~ Does this virus affect all country?
~what countries does it affect if it doesn't affect all countries?
~ is it just android devices that is been affected?

This criminals are really doing a great job and it seems they are also evolving with the world as well and I've also heard stories of possible scams through keyboards and most times this malwares comes in form of notifications that requires acceptance.

I think people need more of sensitization on cyber security and how to stay save especially in this world where is online criminals aren't relenting as well.

If you carefully read the article, after the modification, this virus is mainly aimed at the inhabitants of the United States, and countries such as Canada, Germany, Spain and Turkey are also affected. Although, if we judge that we live on the Internet, the virus can be exchanged in other countries. To calm down that someone lives in another country, I think it's not worth it. It is good that you understand that Internet safety information requires regular awareness. But still, monitoring all the news, and also in the absence of timely news, the device's owner must be careful. Using the phone that was first in your hands, without a previous owner, and limiting the installation of applications, as well as controlling the links you follow, should be familiar. By installing all the decorations and seeming conveniences in your phone, you can expose it to the risk of a virus and control over your device.

According to the cybersecurity firm, the United States, Turkey and Spain account for the highest number of trojan or ‘Godfather’ malware activities. Canada, France, Germany and the UK are also hotbeds for the trojan, Group-IB said.

Additionally, the cybersecurity firm noted the ‘Godfather’ malware attacked users in 16 countries last year. These attacks affected 215 banking apps, 94 crypto wallets and 110 cryptocurrency exchange platforms.

Moreover, Group-IB in its report said the ‘Godfather’ malware code has an interesting functionality that prevents it from attacking users located in Russian-speaking and former Soviet Union countries. This suggests that the creators of the virus are from Russia or one of the former Soviet states, the cybersecurity firm said.

“The emergence of Godfather underscores the ability of threat actors to edit and update their tools to maintain their effectiveness in spite of efforts by malware detection and prevention providers to update their products,” Artem Grischenko, a Junior Malware Analyst at Group-IB, noted.

As we all know as we ended the year 2022, it safe to say any one who has been involved in crypto will not miss the departing year, but may be quietly optimistic that 2023 can as Bitcoin is a global cryptocurrency used in digital market.
We can expect, perhaps a bumpin positive thinking as the new year rolls around, and predict that there are several development and trends likely to emerge or continue throughout 2023 if you deal with Bitcoin. In the Economy market of cryptocurrency u as well can buy at a cheaper price and sell it. And believe me u will benefit greatly as Bitcoin rules the crypto market.

Over time we may simply be left talking about Bitcoin (which will continue to stand distinct as the primary and most credible new form of money) web3 ( which equates to other, smart contact oriented consumer uses of fungible crypto) and digital collectibles ( which refers to non fungible crypto assess).. so Bitcoin is becoming a hot arbitrage among cryptocurrency traders and investors. So it will be best if all citizens go into cashless economy.

Performa Bitcoin Selama Masa Pandemi COVID-19

2185  Economy / Reputation / Re: Campaign managers acting as Escrow on: January 11, 2023, 08:18:39 AM
after the FTX collapse, Binance and CMC launched reserves as an additional parameter for liquidity exchanges. Maybe we could have a similar condition here, the escrow must have a certain amount of reserves as a guarantee.
Even with such measures, a lot of things could still go wrong that would jeopardize the escrow. For starters, what if they got into an accident, got robed, or worse, died? These may seem far fetched but it can happen.
And if such condition is applied here, as yahoo already mentioned, probably only one or two users in this forum would qualify. If all funds from various bounty campaigns, signature campaigns are poured into them, they could easily be targeted not just online but in real-life as well. Quite scary when you think about it.

I was also disappointed when I read this news yesterday, and this is o e of the early big hack/scam story for the new year 2023.
Yep, but still, nothing beats this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5432665.0

It sounds like an excuse.  But I don't think that saying that it can happen to everyone is applicable here. Accidents on the road occur as well, sometimes due to the fault of both the pedestrian and the driver. But the biggest fault lies with the driver when he has a weapon in his hands that can lead to the death of people because the driver himself does not know the rules of driving.
I think you can understand it.
2186  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 11, 2023, 07:31:41 AM

Thanks for the tips. I have no other reason for using Google Chrome other than being used to it since I started working online way before I entered crypto-space. I guess it never crossed my mind how vulnerable I am using it.

A bunch of wacky scripts were found by my current AV, forgot the names 'cause I just immediately let the AV settle it. I will now wipe my system and install a new one.

I assume OP was/is using the same windows PC for browsing, downloading stuffs, holding funds, etc. which is not recommended at all. Too many malwares across the internet (smarter than your antivirus), you click a simple link and wont even know what problems are waiting for you ahead.
Unfortunately Yes. While I have another device, it's a Chromebook that's used by my wife. It doesn't necessarily support the Apps I required to run the bounty campaign management service. So I'm stuck with my one and only PC.

God, what are we talking about? Guilty or not? I asked the OP if he was an advanced computer user . According to all the responses, julerz12 does not understand the entire concept of network security. And unfortunately, you can feel sorry for him, but knowing his level of attitude toward other people's funds, I would not trust him in the future.
Using Windows for surfing and keeping money on a shared computer is just careless. It doesn't matter that you were the only user; you need to separate your general life from your financial one. A lot of people think, like, "This won't happen to me." But, alas, it's only a matter of time.

Those are all reasons to Support the Type 1 Newbie Warning Flag. It doesn't matter that it's not fraud. You call it an accident, I call using hot wallets for large funds an accident waiting to happen.

I only recently read another article about the  RAT, despite recalling it yesterday; a hacker can wait for a convenient time, and that time has come. Speaking of  RAT, this is not an unfounded opinion; it is enough to download a supposedly useful plugin for Photoshop, and that's it; you are already in sight, thinking that you downloaded from the right source.

P.S.  Some people will tell you to stop using Windows...  I don't care what you use for an operating system, no OS will save you from yourself.

2187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Hackers hide malware in fake NFT game on: January 11, 2023, 05:42:30 AM
Another discovery of fraudulent activities was made by Korean specialists from AhnLab. The game is distributed through phishing sites or through a mailing list; it is a simple Pokémon NFT card game. After installing the game, RAT, a computer remote control virus, is installed on the victim's computer, which ultimately allows hackers to fully monitor all the victim's actions, including stealing passwords and seed phrases.

Quote
Hackers have been using a fake NFT game claiming to be Pokémon-branded to spread malware to unsuspecting users, according to cybersecurity firm AhnLab. The phishing website, which is still active at the time of writing, appears to offer a legitimate NFT marketplace and the option to buy tokens and stake NFTs based on the popular Japanese media brand. However, users who download the site's content are actually installing a remote access program called NetSupport Manager that gives hackers control over their device
https://metaverse.sg/nft-news/fake-pokemon-nft-game-distributes-malware

The remote control can be configured as the most common process on Windows, which the user will never mistake for malicious, which also applies to antivirus software, although some completely refuse to detect it.

As a result, the simple truth rings again: do not open anything on the Internet, do not open attachments from strangers, and start self-education on Linux systems in order to completely abandon leaky Windows.
2188  Economy / Scam Accusations / A new godfather virus for android that steals data from cryptocurrency applicati on: January 11, 2023, 05:16:58 AM
The new year began with another discovery of viruses aimed at stealing cryptocurrencies.

Although the Trojan was discovered in 2021, it was not finalized then. At this time, the virus can read SMS in the victim's phones, thereby bypassing two-factor authorization.

Quote
The new malware was designed to collect user data, and it is targeting primarily banking and cryptocurrency applications. Once it infects a device, the malware begins to display fake websites of regular banking and crypto apps in order to steal the login data of users. BaFin revealed that the malware is targeting around 400 banking and crypto apps, including those operating in Germany.

We also know that Godfather relies on push notifications to obtain two-factor authentication codes, and that cybercriminals can use this data to gain access to consumers’ accounts and wallets.

@icopress went for it and pulled the trigger.
I am not sure that was the appropriate action to take here.

If you check julerz12's trust lists, the only user that doesn't trust him is icopress. Probably there were other incidents that led icopress to such conclusions. But as for the negative tag, it will not affect the decision of the managers in any way, in case julerz12 decides to participate in the subscription company. It's just that all managers are already aware of what happened, and one way or another, only they decide whether to accept this user or not. It has already been said many times that a negative mark can easily change in the event of a positive outcome. In the end, this is only a minimum compared to what those who actually lost money experienced. After all, everyone will agree that other people's money can never be compared with their own. And julerz12 lost other people's money, which one hurts more?
2191  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 10, 2023, 07:36:27 AM
Not a very good start to the year, julerz12; I'm really sorry for you. I'm a parent too, and I can very well understand all your concerns about providing for a family.
But everything that has happened has already happened. Someone rightly said that you need to sit in a chair and collect your thoughts.
To proceed, one must be certain that this will not happen again in the future. Are you sure that you are an experienced Windows user? In any case, ask and think.
Are you using licensed Windows? How long have you had it? Do you allow the system to be updated regularly? Do you use your computer for anything other than work-related Internet browsing? Check everything: what browsers are worth, whether there is access to mail, and opening other people's letters. Such viruses are now being written that even Windows Defender does not recognize them as viruses. Remote Desktop, which might be named for another completely harmless process, could regularly monitor all of your activities. We just need to find the problem now.
Flash drives—are they all healthy?
In any case, I wish you strength. May your children always be proud of the honesty and correctness of their father.

2193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcointalk is the best forum on: January 09, 2023, 11:55:57 AM

What this forum needs most is investing.

Buddy, come on, poke me with your nose, where and when did this forum need investments Shocked Shocked Shocked? Where did you get it from? If the forum covers information about Bitcoin, then it does not require at all, and even more, so does not need anything. Therefore, be kind enough to ask for the correct information so as not to mislead normal beginners.
The forum is self-sufficient, everyone here is free to express their point of view, but it is desirable that this point be reasonable.

Friends, I'm wondering if anyone who recently unsubscribed or is just about to give instructions to the OP noticed his trust and the last date of his visit to the forum.
I'm willing to bet that the OP created three more accounts and stopped visiting this thread a long time ago. So you are all talking to the wall.
I asked the moderators to close the topic, but they did not agree, apparently hoping that the OP was still suffering and would read educational lectures.

Maybe someone else will help with a request to close the topic to avoid the growth of the mega-stream?
2197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announce your first Bitcoin purchase, Bitcoin acceptance for your business here on: January 08, 2023, 01:27:35 PM

Many topic .......I am very smart! I collect links everywhere!

Do you honestly believe that someone will look through your directory to see how and who received their first bitcoin or uses it as a payment method?IMHO, but I'm interested in reading this at a time when it's relevant. Someone opened their own salon, someone teaches the basics of bitcoin in the church, and someone else added bonuses for going to the salon. It's all interesting once, so I don't think it needs to be cataloged. Unless someone does not understand, how are such subjects created? Let people grow, at least even using fantasy; they should do something on their own and not rewrite others' links, implying orderliness on the forum. The same fishing merits. Just don't interfere with each other.

You created a thread about your 2022 work and you locked it: BlackBoss_ Works. What if other people too started to create their 2022 topics, is it going to be fine?

If you do not want things like that, why are you not following yourself as an example.

I agree with you, @_act_, that all these "helpful" links look very fake.
2198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there truly crypto whales and what are your takes on them? on: January 08, 2023, 11:00:19 AM
You didn't give details about your brother's deception. If he assisted in trade, doesn't that imply he was a member of the team in some capacity, which suggests he was aware of what he was doing? I don't think that for $2,000, Binance will help. These are huge sums for you, but not for the exchange. When contacting crypto, a person must understand all the risks, whether he trades incorrectly or stores his seed phrases incorrectly.
As for your questions, I don’t know the reasons that could prohibit a person from having large amounts of bitcoin; this is probably how he ensures his business, and indeed, only the owner can know why he needs such large amounts. Similarly, I do not see any consequences; if a person does not violate any laws, why should he be afraid of someone? Of course, he is not obliged to talk about how much and why he needs bitcoins. This is his right to privacy.
2199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can newbies know when it's a good track of conversation on: January 08, 2023, 08:47:50 AM
Is this the first forum you have registered with? If not, why are you asking? All forums are intended for communication and discussion of common interests. If you purposefully decided to learn about bitcoin, to study all its subtleties, you should not worry about such trifles that excite you. Take a walk around the forum, decide what you are interested in, or maybe not clear, and feel free to write. Don't think of a forum as a place with very strict rules and an unfriendly community. On the contrary, by communicating here, you will find out how open, and ready to help your people will be glad to have your presence.
Just be yourself, don't play the role of someone you are not.
2200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get a hardware wallet in a bitcoin banned country? on: January 07, 2023, 11:08:19 AM
Do you use centralized exchanges, don't they ask you to pass KYC?
I followed your posts earlier, remember why you don't ask your local section?

I am trying my best to act like myself. Although we live in the Indian subcontinent, it is not covered by modern technology based living. So we are living life adapting ourselves with great struggle.

I doubt that no one uses hardware wallets.

And besides, why are you ignoring Electrum? For those who do not have a huge amount of their assets, this wallet is especially convenient, in particular for your country.
