We attended an online conference called Blockchain in Business: From Concept to Revenue, organized by Blockchain Adria. Quite a few new and interesting concepts were presented in the ¨Blockchain in Industry and Business˝ assembly. Among them, as an example of good practice and use of blockchain technology in energy, our SunContract platform. The presentation was made by none other than our CEO, Gregor Novak. The ocean is also a major driving force in the global economy and it sustains about 40% of humanity that live within 100 km of the ocean.

Grant applications in this programme are extremely competitive with a less than 5% acceptance rate since Horizon 2020 strives to fund only the cream of excellent European researchers and projects. This means that of all applicants, SunContract and its partners were recognized as being superior in terms of technology than 95% of the applicants. We feel very humbled as a team and as partners to have been approved for direct funding by the EU - specifically through the Horizon 2020 program. In 2018, my team and I launched SunContract nationwide here in the European Union, Slovenia. We had a lot of goals for the following years and sure enough, we grew our customer base significantly and quickly within the first year. We then went on to build new digital infrastructure for new services and we also opened a new operational headquarter the following year (2019) - in Tallinn, Estonia. 2020 has been productive for both my companies SunContract and SONCE. However, it has not come without its challenges. And yet strangely enough, and all thanks to each and every one of you, SunContract is looking like it will still have a strong finish to the year. (SONCE as well). As I look at the SunContract numbers this morning, I would like to thank the SunContract community for your support. You have continued to remain loyal to the goals of the project, and so we will continue to at the very least match your efforts as a team.
