221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Time to Buy Goldcoins! on: June 11, 2013, 11:26:28 PM
The block explorer is at 20949 coins and at 21000 coins (estimated 2 days tops), the difficulty of this coin will significantly drop making it one of the most profitable coins to mine. Someone is interested in GLDCoin and has just put up a 370 LTC, nearly 1,000,000 GLD buy-wall on Cryptsy, with 2 other 70LTC buy-walls, one about the 1m buy-wall price and one slightly beneath it. Now is the time to buy!

Edit 1: The price has gone up 19% since I originally made this topic asking you all to purchase it.

Should have made the new thread self-moderated. And you will need to edit page one with just a link to the new thread.

You might want to provide a link to the dragoncoin thread so people know what they are.

229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold Coin (GLD) Info Thread - The Future of Digital Currency *UPDATE Binaries on: June 10, 2013, 05:04:32 PM
Respect mate, it's really nice to see someone taking an active approach of supporting one coin. People usually think the active support is posting "this coin to the moon, this coin is great, blabla" stuff but you really stood up and took some action.

A youtube video, doesn't make it valuable, its useless propoganda. You should give it value, first, and then promote it

Thank you for your comments.

I'm trying to get more people interested in the coin, in conjunction with increasing network hashrate, in conjunction with bringing the community together. I have outlined previously an entire list of areas where I'm working.

It is a combination of these efforts what will hopefully increase value.

No, creating services that accept GLD, is the only thing that will add value. Having Gold in the name, is not enough. Add value to it, and the miners will come on their own. People are greedy. They want $$, not happy thoughts and togetherness.

There is no point creating services to accept the coin until it is stable. IMO.

And the coin will never stabalize, until services accept it. Viscious cycle. Something as simple, as a market place, like bitmit. The value of GLD is so low, because the block reward is so high. A lack of foresite, by the developer. GLD is dead. All the money you are putting into it, is a complete waste. The sad truth? For people to mine it, it has to get into and remain in the top 3 on a site like coinchoose.
Soon, very soon, it will be up there.

Based on what? No one wants your shitty coin, deal with it.

When the difficulty readjusts.

232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTB 10000 DGC on: June 10, 2013, 07:41:07 AM
price offered .09 BTC(About 10 USD)

Haha, so your willing to pay 1/40th of the current market price. 10,000 DGC is like 4 BTC at the current market price.

haha, dick! Tongue i should have known how much backlash i would recieve from the GLD community for backing out and moving to DGC.

anywho, the reason the price is so high is its a common negotiating tactic. you start outrageous and meet in the middle somewhere in order to get a good deal

I'm not backlashing you, if you are really interested in moving out and switching to DGC that is your choice. I was just pointing out if your interested in buying DGC coins, you should be willing to pay for than 2% of their current price. Outrageous would be if you offered 1 BTC, this is beyond outrageous. I'm not bashing GLD, I have a small stake in DGC of a few hundred, and I have a few hundred stake in WDC to.

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Giveaway! on: June 10, 2013, 07:22:31 AM
Hello Bitcoin Forum,

We are the company behind the new Ripple open payment system. We are pleased to announce the first official XRP giveaway. To thank the Bitcoin community for their support and to encourage people to experiment with Ripple and provide feedback, we are targeting this giveaway to users of the Bitcoin Forum.

Anyone whose Bitcoin Forum account was created before February 19, 2013, 18:45 UTC, is eligible to receive XRP.

You may claim your XRP simply by posting your Ripple address in this thread. Please note that your replies will be processed by a script, so make sure that your post contains only your Ripple address.

We are currently giving 1,000 XRP to anyone who claims. This amount will decrease over the course of the giveaway. We are giving to a limited number of people a day so it might be awhile after your post before you receive your XRP.

By requesting XRP, you acknowledge and agree that the transfer thereof is entirely automatic and does not constitute a contract, warranty, or agreement of any kind between you and OpenCoin Inc. Please remember Ripple is still in early beta so expect bugs.

Enjoy!
OpenCoin Inc.

Post formatting

Create a ripple account here https://ripple.com/client A Ripple address looks similar to a bitcoin address but begins with an "r".  For example, our Ripple address is:

r3kmLJN5D28dHuH8vZNUZpMC43pEHpaocV

Your post should not contain any text besides the address and should have no special formatting. Posts which don't match this format will be skipped, and you'll have to post your address again to get XRP.

Rules

Your Bitcoin Forum account must have been created before February 19, 2013, 18:45 UTC, in order to be eligible. Only one Ripple address per user, please. (All but the first valid address you post will be ignored).

We will periodically post updates to the post below to indicate when XRP have been given. We will be limiting the amount of people we give to per day, and this amount may be adjusted, so please be patient as it may take some time for the script to get to your post.

If you have any questions or concerns about this giveaway, or about Ripple in general, please don't hesitate to ask us either on this forum or ours.

why must it be b4 feb 19?

So people don't make extra accounts just to get the giveaway. It's like $18 for that much ripples now and you could easily make 10 accounts an hour so...

237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold Coin (GLD) Info Thread - The Future of Digital Currency *UPDATE Binaries on: June 10, 2013, 07:17:48 AM
The gld.vircurpool.com does not seem to be updating. Any suggestion as to where to point this 7,000 KH/s to mine GLD?

If needed, I could set a pool up on CryptoCoin Mine, but it would take me a couple of hours.Maybe less depending on how the alt-coin gods feel tonight  Cheesy

We could always use extra pools though.

Post your address. Receive 10 GLDCoins. Maximum 2000 people. If 2000 people really claim this, I'll extend the amount most likely.
