There may be few reasons.

1. Chinese who invested in BTC sold their coins and invested in Alibaba instead.

2. Chinese BTC farms have become obsolete. Their mass produced miners have become inefficient, because they have been using obsolete chips which use too much electricity in comparison to their mediocre hashing capability. Their farms don't make ROI anymore. So Chinese started panicked mass selling of their BTC to make ROI and pay for the electricity. It caused the BTC price going down rapidly

The Devs are very busy atm, so they will probablt answer your questions tomorrow.

From what I remember they have been working on improving the code for the next wallet update and also working on the new website. Both are scheduled to be released some time next week.

Darksend will be added within next few months as roadmap shows.

It went to $1200, because of MtGox bots scam pumping up the price :-)
I don't think there will be any major BTC exchange performing such trick again.

1. Just go to "My Computer".
2. Click on "Tools" in the window menu, above.
3. Click on "Folder Options....
4. Go to "View".
5. Tick "Show hidden files, folders, and drives"
6. Click "apply"

7. Got to "Local Disk (C:)/Users"
8. Find and open your username folder. Will be somewhere between folders called Default and Public. Will probably have padlock icon next to it.
9. Open folder "AppData"
10. Open folder "Roaming"
11. Find and open folder "LitecoinDark". You will find wallet.dat file there.
12. Copy this file somewhere safe.
For example, burn it on CD/DVD, or copy toflashdrive, or even pack it to zip/rar archive which is secured with password and send the file to one of your safe e-mail addresses.

!!! Also, remember to encrypt your LitecoinDark QT wallet with password (Settings/Encrypt Wallet) !!!
Then, every time when you send a transaction you will be required to type your password. Try to choose some complicated password, you have never used before. Mixture of digits and lower/uppercase letters.
Even if someone steals your wallet.dat file it will be no use to them if they don't know the password.

The best is to memorize this password but, if you have short memory retention (like me), then you can write it down somewhere safe, in no obvious place. You can even give one copy of the note to someone you trust to keep it safe, like your mum for example :-)

I personally got stuck with it, because I like the whole community thing and I like the way the devs conduct their communication with everyone.
They don't seem to be some patronizing, arrogant muppets with heads up their asseses, trying to make a buck.

Especially, TrollByFire attitude has really impressed. He seems to be doing this project out of pure passion and is not interested in any kind of monetary or egoic reward for what he is doing. He just does it becasue he feels that things and ideas should be shared for free.

I agree with Viper. I didn't see it as much of fud. Just an honest inquiry.

From my point of view the person responsible for PR should always reply to inquiries with still and assertive mind, with patience, without emotional reaction, and any bias.

I think it's good to stay calm when considers something to be fud. If something is an obvious fud and trolling then just ignore the person and move along.

There isn't much of the info in OPP :-)

They do run them or they don't. The fact is that their bot system constantly devalues the price of all newly emerging cryptos.
I know that there are many other bots out there.

If it is someone devalueing the price then wee need more major exchanges to deal with LTCD to stabilize it.
